The berlin blockade 1948
Ussr wanted control over entire berlin Stalin
stopped the supply route to west berlin USA and
UK dropped their supplies for berlin so to break the
lockade
Then Germany split into two countries officially in
1949

1- formation of NATO
2- China fell under communist power
3- Ussr detonated it s first nuclear weapon
4-Many communist governments came up in central and
east Europe
The contours are clear
By around 1950 it was clear that the 2 sides
are at war without any open conflict

1961 – Berlin wall construction begins

1985 – Mikhail gorbachev became the gen. sec.
of communist party of Ussr
End of cold war because
Reforms bought by gorachev in the
economy of ussr
The communist economy could not
take up to the capitalist one
