This document compares the discussion and constructivism methods for teaching adult learners in adult education. It describes the discussion method as allowing the teacher to control questions rather than answers, and being flexible to learner interests. Constructivism gives learners opportunities to actively experience and reflect on concepts. When implemented well, both methods promote long-term memory, suit adult characteristics, and increase motivation by involving learners. Suggestions are made to improve the methods, such as addressing learners respectfully and using their experiences to generate reading materials. In conclusion, the methods promote democratic learning and a positive self-concept when properly utilized.

EFFECTIVENESS OF INSTRUCTIONAL DESIGN MODEL (ISMAN - 2011) IN DEVELOPING THE...Hisham Hussein
The new instructional design model (Isman - 2011) aims at planing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and
organizing full learning activities effectively to ensure competent performance by students. The theoretical
foundation of this model comes from behaviorism, cognitivism and constructivism views. And it’s based on
active learning. During teaching and learning activities, learner is active and uses cognitive learning to construct
new knowledge. To construct new knowledge, educational technology materials are used. These materials are
connected with goals and objectives. This study examines the effectiveness of the instructional design model
(Isman - 2011) in developing the students teaching skills (Planning Teaching Domain) by redesign “General
teaching methods course – curr 233-“, which taught to the sixth level students at teachers' college, King Saud
University. The sample of the study consisted of 80 students that enrolled in the second semester 2010/2011,
they were divided into two groups of 40 students each, (an experimental group and a control group). The result
comes by administered pre- post teaching skills test to find out the model has strong effectiveness in achieving

Despite its central place in the mathematics curriculum the notion of mathematical proof has failed to permeate the curriculum at all scholastic levels. While the concept of mathematical proof can serve as a vehicle for inculcating mathematical thinking, studies have revealed that students experience serious difficulties with proving that include (a) not knowing how to begin the proving process, (b) the proclivity to use empirical verifications for tasks that call for axiomatic methods of proving, and (c) resorting to rote memorization of uncoordinated fragments of proof facts. While several studies have been conducted with the aim of addressing students’ fragile grasp of mathematical proof the majority of such studies have been based on activities that involve students reflecting and expressing their level of convincement in arguments supplied by the researchers, thereby compromising the voice of the informants. Further, research focus has been on the front instead of the back of mathematics. Hence, there is a dearth in research studies into students’ thinking processes around mathematical proof that are grounded in students’ own proof attempts. Therefore current investigations should aim at identifying critical elements of students’ knowledge of the notion of proof that are informed by students’ actual individual proof construction attempts.

Exploring General Science Questions of Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Exa...Md. Mehadi Rahman
Creative question is generally considered as a tool to measure students’ various levels of learning. The study focused on exploring the present situation of General Science test items/creative questions in Bangladesh. This descriptive study was conducted using a concurrent triangulation research design. To conduct this study both quantitative and qualitative data were collected. 16 test of General Science test items/creative question papers of 2015 or 2016 were selected purposively as sample from all educational boards. 48 students were selected conveniently for interview from those who had been passed the SSC examination of 2015 or 2016. For collecting data from these sources test analysis protocol and interview protocol were used as research tools. Test analysis protocol was consisted of two criteria; wording criteria and practicing criteria. Selected test items were analysed based on these two criteria and Bloom’s cognitive domain. The study revealed that major test items were developed in a way which direct students towards lower level learning. Few test items were focused to students understanding, application and higher order learning. In practice, students were engaged to only memorization and understanding through SSC examination assessment. Few test items were devoted to application level learning of students. Higher order learning was totally ignored in SSC examination questions.
Critical thinking of students is needed in 21st century learning, the fact is the acquisition in the field is still low. Therefore this study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills using the inquiry model assisted with the ethnoconstructivism module. Methodology uses a quantitative design of a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design with a total sample of 64 students taken by purposive sampling technique. There were significant differences in terms of students' critical thinking between the control class and the experimental class. It can be underlined that the inquiry model with ethnoconstructivism has a significant influence on the way students think about cultural values compared to traditional groups.

Sitthichai Laisema and Panita Wannapiroon, " Development of a Collaborative Learning with Creative Problem-Solving Process Model in Ubiquitous Learning Environment," International Journal of e-Education, e-Business, e-Management and e-Learning vo. 3, no. 2, pp. 102-106, 2013.
The document discusses the need to redefine higher education in light of globalization. It argues that higher education must develop critical thinking and creativity in students, foster interdisciplinary learning, and emphasize practical skills through industry partnerships. Reforms are needed such as revising curricula to be more interdisciplinary, career-oriented, and responsive to local needs. Teaching methods should shift from traditional content coverage to developing students' thinking abilities and encouraging self-directed learning. Quality in higher education depends on continually improving teaching processes based on learning outcomes.
The document discusses the teaching and learning process. It defines key terms, outlines seven principles of effective teaching and learning, and describes the four aspects and educational spiral model. It also compares the education process to the nursing process, noting they both involve assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to achieve behavioral outcomes and monitor quality.
In educating the students, teachers’ beliefs on teaching and learning influenced not only on what to teach and how to do it, but also on how to assess their students. Education has a goal that students can apply the knowledge gained in real world activities. Through assessment process, it helps them to understand their strengths and weaknesses of their abilities development. This research aims to find out teachers’ beliefs about performance assessment and how they use it to assess their students in one of public college under The Ministry of Industry in Indonesia. Data findings are obtained by using interviews, observation and document analysis conducted on T1 and T2 as the participants. Researcher used the five elements of performance assessment to make the instruments and analyze the findings. Results indicated that there were differences between what they say and what they do. The differences appeared because of the theories they knew, their own knowledge and experiences they have in teaching.

This research is aimed at developing a learning model that encourages the skills of analytical thinking in science. The method used is research and development. The result is the ICAE (Incubation, Collection of data, Analysis, and Evaluation) model that promotes analytical thinking skills. Results of normalized gain tests show that the gain score is 0.28, which indicates that the ICAE learning model positively affects students’ analytical thinking, even though still within the lower category. The ICAE model also promotes the skills of analytical thinking in science and it has gained positive response from students.
The previous research result showed that the learning model based on the investigation could increase the students’ critical thinking skills. The aim of this research was to measure the effectiveness of the using of problem-based learning model to increase the students’ critical thinking skills. The research design was quasi-experiment by using post-test only design. The population of this research was the eleventh grade students of science which contained 124 students of SMAN 6 and SMAN 7 Kupang that were chosen randomly. The treatment that was given in this research was problem-based learning model for the experiment class and conventional model for the control class whereas the given materials were the reaction rate. The instrument that was used in this research previously validated by two experts of theory and material. The result of this research showed that the students who studied in experiment class had different critical thinking skills better that the students who studied using conventional model.
Implementation of different tutoring system to enhance student learningijctet
This document discusses different tutoring systems that can be used to enhance student learning. It describes three types of tutoring: no tutoring (without feedback), computer tutoring using intelligent tutoring systems, and human tutoring using scaffolding techniques. Intelligent tutoring systems use domain models, teaching models, student models, and interfaces to provide individualized instruction. They track student performance and recommend additional work. Human tutoring employs scaffolding where teachers support students until they can solve complex problems independently. Scaffolding includes hard, static supports and soft, dynamic supports tailored for each student.
Mind skills become the counselor’s internal competencies that support the counselor’s self-development in providing guidance and counseling services. Mind skills consist of six components that are interrelated and often integrated. The metacognitive thinking process is the key to success in how counselors can manage their thoughts and mental states through these six components. This study examined the success of the reverse roleplay training strategy to improve the counselor’s mind skills. The method was quasi-experimental quantitative with a pretest-posttest design. The subjects of this study were 31 counselors in Malang Raya, Indonesia. Data analysis in this study used two stages, descriptive statistical analysis and hypothesis test. The results showed that the counselor’s mind skills achievements before and after the intervention marked a difference with significant increase. Reverse roleplay increased the participants’ understanding and experience of the thoughts, perceptions, and feelings from broader perspectives. The counselor’s mental experiences involved during counseling sessions become a “full presence” for the therapeutic relationship. This research suggests further research to explore the counselor’s mental experiences in detail. As for practical implication, the reverse roleplay is recommended as a training design for improving the internal competencies of counselors and educators in general.

Improving E-Learning by Integrating a Metacognitive Agent IJECEIAES
The major disadvantage of the current Learning Management Systems is the lack of learner assistance in their learning processes and, therefore, they can not replace the presence of the teacher who ensures the progress of learning. In fact, we proposed to integrate, for each learner, a metacognitive agent that supported the metacognitive assistance and extracts the defectsin the learning process and strategies. The goal is to invite the learner to correct himself and improve his learning method. Metacognitive questionnaires were distributed to a group of 100 students before, during and after a computer course. The goal is to evaluatethe metacognitive attributes and to determine their influence on the success of learning. Decision trees were used as data analysis tools to extract a set of rules and to discover the influence of these metacognitive attributes on the result obtained by the learners. The results indicate that there are relationships between the different metacognitive attributes and the learners’ success. We note there is the influence of metacognitive incitement on learner outcomes, which reflects the degree of understanding of a learning pedagogical unit by the learner.

Implementation
In previous weeks, you learned how to conduct an effective training needs assessment and initial steps of designing training, especially designing outcome-oriented learning objectives that become the road map for the next phases of training. You read the Domtar case and how Raymond Royer, the CEO, took initiative to develop employees; how he focused on developing strategic direction and specific goals that focused on (a) return on investment and (b) customer service. You also learned about appropriate training methods selection in the design and development phases.
The delivery methods and implementation of training are critical for the success of training in terms of employees’ engagement and motivation to learn. It is important to understand individuals’ learning styles to decide what methods are appropriate for a particular group of learners. To be more effective, training should include multiple training methods (e.g. lectures, brain storming, group work, discussions, role play, case analysis, simulations and games) and activities to motivate learners who have different types of learning styles, preferences, learning goals and personal expectations. Learner engagement is the key to learning. There are various methods you can use to engage and motivate learners for better results, such as role play, discussion, on-the-job training, simulation, self-directed learning, business games, case studies, team work, behavior modeling, etc.
Styles of Learning
People have different styles of learning. These learning styles help them to acquire new information and knowledge. There are many different learning styles but for simplicity they can be broken down into four major categories.

1. Written Word - Knowledge is acquired best through the written word. Reading is the preferred way of gaining knowledge.
2. Auditory - Listening to presented information and retaining the major portion of what has been heard.
3. Visual - Seeing pictures, diagrams, and illustrations enables the learner to grasp the concepts being presented.
4. Kinesthetic/Tactile - Involves touch and manipulative activities. Requires eye-hand-body coordination.
As you select a delivery method you need to keep in mind that by varying the methods you will be focusing on the different learning styles of your participants.
The outputs of the development phase serve as inputs to the implementation phase. The implementation phase’s output is the trainees’ response to training, the trainees’ learning, their behavior back on the job, and its effect on key organizational outcomes. These out.

BROAD UNEXPOSED SKILLS OF TRANSGENDER ENTREPRENEURSIAEME Publication
Since ages gender difference is always a debatable theme whether caused by nature, evolution or environment. The birth of a transgender is dreadful not only for the child but also for their parents. The pain of living in the wrong physique and treated as second class victimized citizen is outrageous and fully harboured with vicious baseless negative scruples. For so long, social exclusion had perpetuated inequality and deprivation experiencing ingrained malign stigma and besieged victims of crime or violence across their life spans. They are pushed into the murky way of life with a source of eternal disgust, bereft sexual potency and perennial fear. Although they are highly visible but very little is known about them. The common public needs to comprehend the ravaged arrogance on these insensitive souls and assist in integrating them into the mainstream by offering equal opportunity, treat with humanity and respect their dignity. Entrepreneurship in the current age is endorsing the gender fairness movement. Unstable careers and economic inadequacy had inclined one of the gender variant people called Transgender to become entrepreneurs. These tiny budding entrepreneurs resulted in economic transition by means of employment, free from the clutches of stereotype jobs, raised standard of living and handful of financial empowerment. Besides all these inhibitions, they were able to witness a platform for skill set development that ignited them to enter into entrepreneurial domain. This paper epitomizes skill sets involved in trans-entrepreneurs of Thoothukudi Municipal Corporation of Tamil Nadu State and is a groundbreaking determination to sightsee various skills incorporated and the impact on entrepreneurship.

Living in 21st century in itself reminds all of us the necessity of police and its administration. As more and more we are entering into the modern society and culture, the more we require the services of the so called ‘Khaki Worthy’ men i.e., the police personnel. Whether we talk of Indian police or the other nation’s police, they all have the same recognition as they have in India. But as already mentioned, their services and requirements are different after the like 26th November, 2008 incidents, where they without saving their own lives has sacrificed themselves without any hitch and without caring about their respective family members and wards. In other words, they are like our heroes and mentors who can guide us from the darkness of fear, militancy, corruption and other dark sides of life and so on. Now the question arises, if Gandhi would have been alive today, what would have been his reaction/opinion to the police and its functioning? Would he have some thing different in his mind now what he had been in his mind before the partition or would he be going to start some Satyagraha in the form of some improvement in the functioning of the police administration? Really these questions or rather night mares can come to any one’s mind, when there is too much confusion is prevailing in our minds, when there is too much corruption in the society and when the polices working is also in the questioning because of one or the other case throughout the India. It is matter of great concern that we have to thing over our administration and our practical approach because the police personals are also like us, they are part and parcel of our society and among one of us, so why we all are pin pointing towards them.

ATTRITION IN THE IT INDUSTRY DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC: LINKING EMOTIONAL INTE...IAEME Publication
Globally, Millions of dollars were spent by the organizations for employing skilled Information Technology (IT) professionals. It is costly to replace unskilled employees with IT professionals possessing technical skills and competencies that aid in interconnecting the business processes. The organization’s employment tactics were forced to alter by globalization along with technological innovations as they consistently diminish to remain lean, outsource to concentrate on core competencies along with restructuring/reallocate personnel to gather efficiency. As other jobs, organizations or professions have become reasonably more appropriate in a shifting employment landscape, the above alterations trigger both involuntary as well as voluntary turnover. The employee view on jobs is also afflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic along with the employee-driven labour market. So, having effective strategies is necessary to tackle the withdrawal rate of employees. By associating Emotional Intelligence (EI) along with Talent Management (TM) in the IT industry, the rise in attrition rate was analyzed in this study. Only 303 respondents were collected out of 350 participants to whom questionnaires were distributed. From the employees of IT organizations located in Bangalore (India), the data were congregated. A simple random sampling methodology was employed to congregate data as of the respondents. Generating the hypothesis along with testing is eventuated. The effect of EI and TM along with regression analysis between TM and EI was analyzed. The outcomes indicated that employee and Organizational Performance (OP) were elevated by effective EI along with TM.

The firm quickly obtains an upper hand over its rivals in the event that its employees having particular skills that cannot be duplicated by the competitors. Thus, firms are centred on creating successful talent management practices and processes to deal with the unique human resources. Firms are additionally endeavouring to keep their top/key staff since on the off chance that they leave; the whole store of information leaves the firm's hands. The study's objective was to determine the impact of talent management on organizational performance among the selected IT organizations in Chennai. The study recommends that talent management limitedly affects performance. On the off chance that this talent is appropriately management and implemented properly, organizations might benefit as much as possible from their maintained assets to support development and productivity, both monetarily and non-monetarily.
A STUDY OF VARIOUS TYPES OF LOANS OF SELECTED PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR BANKS...IAEME Publication
Banking regulations act of India, 1949 defines banking as “acceptance of deposits for the purpose of lending or investment from the public, repayment on demand or otherwise and withdrawable through cheques, drafts order or otherwise”, the major participants of the Indian financial system are commercial banks, the financial institution encompassing term lending institutions. Investments institutions, specialized financial institution and the state level development banks, non banking financial companies (NBFC) and other market intermediaries such has the stock brokers and money lenders are among the oldest of the certain variants of NBFC and the oldest market participants. The asset quality of banks is one of the most important indicators of their financial health. The Indian banking sector has been facing severe problems of increasing Non- Performing Assets (NPAs). The NPAs growth directly and indirectly affects the quality of assets and profitability of banks. It also shows the efficiency of banks credit risk management and the recovery effectiveness. NPA do not generate any income, whereas, the bank is required to make provisions for such as assets that why is a double edge weapon. This paper outlines the concept of quality of bank loans of different types like Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of selected public and private sector banks. This study is highlighting problems associated with the role of commercial bank in financing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SME). The overall objective of the research was to assess the effect of the financing provisions existing for the setting up and operations of MSMEs in the country and to generate recommendations for more robust financing mechanisms for successful operation of the MSMEs, in turn understanding the impact of MSME loans on financial institutions due to NPA. There are many research conducted on the topic of Non- Performing Assets (NPA) Management, concerning particular bank, comparative study of public and private banks etc. In this paper the researcher is considering the aggregate data of selected public sector and private sector banks and attempts to compare the NPA of Housing, Agriculture and MSME loans in state Haryana of public and private sector banks. The tools used in the study are average and Anova test and variance. The findings reveal that NPA is common problem for both public and private sector banks and is associated with all types of loans either that is housing loans, agriculture loans and loans to SMES. NPAs of both public and private sector banks show the increasing trend. In 2010-11 GNPA of public and private sector were at same level it was 2% but after 2010-11 it increased in many fold and at present there is GNPA in some more than 15%. It shows the dark area of Indian banking sector.

An experiment conducted in this study found that BaSO4 changed Nylon 6's mechanical properties. By changing the weight ratios, BaSO4 was used to make Nylon 6. This Researcher looked into how hard Nylon-6/BaSO4 composites are and how well they wear. Experiments were done based on Taguchi design L9. Nylon-6/BaSO4 composites can be tested for their hardness number using a Rockwell hardness testing apparatus. On Nylon/BaSO4, the wear behavior was measured by a wear monitor, pinon-disc friction by varying reinforcement, sliding speed, and sliding distance, and the microstructure of the crack surfaces was observed by SEM. This study provides significant contributions to ultimate strength by increasing BaSO4 content up to 16% in the composites, and sliding speed contributes 72.45% to the wear rate
ROLE OF SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT OF INDIA - PROBLEMS AND ...IAEME Publication
The majority of the population in India lives in villages. The village is the back bone of the country. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Developing the rural economy is one of the key indicators towards a country’s success. Whether it be the need to look after the welfare of the farmers or invest in rural infrastructure, Governments have to ensure that rural development isn’t compromised. The economic development of our country largely depends on the progress of rural areas and the standard of living of rural masses. Village or rural industries play an important role in the national economy, particularly in the rural development. Rural entrepreneurship is based on stimulating local entrepreneurial talent and the subsequent growth of indigenous enterprises. It recognizes opportunity in the rural areas and accelerates a unique blend of resources either inside or outside of agriculture. Rural entrepreneurship brings an economic value to the rural sector by creating new methods of production, new markets, new products and generate employment opportunities thereby ensuring continuous rural development. Social Entrepreneurship has the direct and primary objective of serving the society along with the earning profits. So, social entrepreneurship is different from the economic entrepreneurship as its basic objective is not to earn profits but for providing innovative solutions to meet the society needs which are not taken care by majority of the entrepreneurs as they are in the business for profit making as a sole objective. So, the Social Entrepreneurs have the huge growth potential particularly in the developing countries like India where we have huge societal disparities in terms of the financial positions of the population. Still 22 percent of the Indian population is below the poverty line and also there is disparity among the rural & urban population in terms of families living under BPL. 25.7 percent of the rural population & 13.7 percent of the urban population is under BPL which clearly shows the disparity of the poor people in the rural and urban areas. The need to develop social entrepreneurship in agriculture is dictated by a large number of social problems. Such problems include low living standards, unemployment, and social tension. The reasons that led to the emergence of the practice of social entrepreneurship are the above factors. The research problem lays upon disclosing the importance of role of social entrepreneurship in rural development of India. The paper the tendencies of social entrepreneurship in India, to present successful examples of such business for providing recommendations how to improve situation in rural areas in terms of social entrepreneurship development. Indian government has made some steps towards development of social enterprises, social entrepreneurship, and social in- novation, but a lot remains to be improved.
OPTIMAL RECONFIGURATION OF POWER DISTRIBUTION RADIAL NETWORK USING HYBRID MET...IAEME Publication
Distribution system is a critical link between the electric power distributor and the consumers. Most of the distribution networks commonly used by the electric utility is the radial distribution network. However in this type of network, it has technical issues such as enormous power losses which affect the quality of the supply. Nowadays, the introduction of Distributed Generation (DG) units in the system help improve and support the voltage profile of the network as well as the performance of the system components through power loss mitigation. In this study network reconfiguration was done using two meta-heuristic algorithms Particle Swarm Optimization and Gravitational Search Algorithm (PSO-GSA) to enhance power quality and voltage profile in the system when simultaneously applied with the DG units. Backward/Forward Sweep Method was used in the load flow analysis and simulated using the MATLAB program. Five cases were considered in the Reconfiguration based on the contribution of DG units. The proposed method was tested using IEEE 33 bus system. Based on the results, there was a voltage profile improvement in the system from 0.9038 p.u. to 0.9594 p.u.. The integration of DG in the network also reduced power losses from 210.98 kW to 69.3963 kW. Simulated results are drawn to show the performance of each case.

DEEP LEARNING FOR SMART GRID INTRUSION DETECTION: A HYBRID CNN-LSTM-BASED MODELijaia
As digital technology becomes more deeply embedded in power systems, protecting the communication
networks of Smart Grids (SG) has emerged as a critical concern. Distributed Network Protocol 3 (DNP3)
represents a multi-tiered application layer protocol extensively utilized in Supervisory Control and Data
Acquisition (SCADA)-based smart grids to facilitate real-time data gathering and control functionalities.
Robust Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) are necessary for early threat detection and mitigation because
of the interconnection of these networks, which makes them vulnerable to a variety of cyberattacks. To
solve this issue, this paper develops a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) model specifically designed for intrusion
detection in smart grids. The proposed approach is a combination of the Convolutional Neural Network
(CNN) and the Long-Short-Term Memory algorithms (LSTM). We employed a recent intrusion detection
dataset (DNP3), which focuses on unauthorized commands and Denial of Service (DoS) cyberattacks, to
train and test our model. The results of our experiments show that our CNN-LSTM method is much better
at finding smart grid intrusions than other deep learning algorithms used for classification. In addition,
our proposed approach improves accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 score, achieving a high detection
accuracy rate of 99.50%.
Home security is of paramount importance in today's world, where we rely more on technology, home
security is crucial. Using technology to make homes safer and easier to control from anywhere is
important. Home security is important for the occupant’s safety. In this paper, we came up with a low cost,
AI based model home security system. The system has a user-friendly interface, allowing users to start
model training and face detection with simple keyboard commands. Our goal is to introduce an innovative
home security system using facial recognition technology. Unlike traditional systems, this system trains
and saves images of friends and family members. The system scans this folder to recognize familiar faces
and provides real-time monitoring. If an unfamiliar face is detected, it promptly sends an email alert,
ensuring a proactive response to potential security threats.

Applications of artificial Intelligence in Mechanical Engineering.pdfAtif Razi
Historically, mechanical engineering has relied heavily on human expertise and empirical methods to solve complex problems. With the introduction of computer-aided design (CAD) and finite element analysis (FEA), the field took its first steps towards digitization. These tools allowed engineers to simulate and analyze mechanical systems with greater accuracy and efficiency. However, the sheer volume of data generated by modern engineering systems and the increasing complexity of these systems have necessitated more advanced analytical tools, paving the way for AI.
AI offers the capability to process vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and make predictions with a level of speed and accuracy unattainable by traditional methods. This has profound implications for mechanical engineering, enabling more efficient design processes, predictive maintenance strategies, and optimized manufacturing operations. AI-driven tools can learn from historical data, adapt to new information, and continuously improve their performance, making them invaluable in tackling the multifaceted challenges of modern mechanical engineering.

1. INTRODUCTION
Mental revolution era brought many consequences for the people of Indonesia. Building a
qualified person requires effort, one of which is self-discipline. Self-discipline is one aspect of
personality that is seen as a positive and constructive force within the individual from an
attitude of obedience to the prevailing rules and devises a determination in order to realize the
desired and important thing for one's self [1]–[5]. Self-discipline is very substantial on the
achievement of academic achievement through the rejection of the delay and is a self-control
that forms the spiritual, emotional, and outward discipline [4], [6], [7]. Self-discipline is
formed by acknowledgement, willpower, hard work, perseverance, and tenacity and possesses
the characteristics of realistic traits, can design goals and be motivated and have more detailed
goals [4], [8], [9].
The dimension of self-discipline through the ability to delay gratification, self-control and
self-regulation shows the parts that can be used to measure self-discipline. Delaying
gratification is one's ability to delay temporary satisfaction that leads to goal attainment and
never surrenders shown to predict desired outcomes in the future through a process of self-
control and self-regulation[10], [11]. To function effectively, individuals must voluntarily
delay satisfaction and keep the direction of goal behaviour in order to obtain results later..
Self-regulating ability is needed in improving self-discipline. [12]. Self-regulation ability
is shown in the process of generating thought and active involvement in goal setting, self-
monitoring, self-governance and self-oriented self-assessment or positive motivation and self-
consistency through dynamic interaction.[13]–[15].
Efforts to help learners to develop optimally carried potential through guidance and
counselling services in schools through its programs. One component of guidance and
counselling program is responsive service. In accordance Permendikbud No. 111 of 2014, the
school counselor on duty and the duty to enforce the service that leads to basic services;
individualizing services and planning, responsive services, and system support services that
stimulate learners to actively discover information and change complex or elusive information
becomes understandable for later self-improvement through the guidance of task groups and
psychoeducation groups [16][17], [18] .
The provision of appropriate and popular counselling and counselling services in schools
is a group. Counsellors can provide such assistance with a counselling group or more
familiarly called group counselling is a special form of counselling service that is counselling
interviews between professional counsellors with multiple counsellors at once in a small
group[19]. Group counselling is especially appropriate for teenagers because in the
counselling process it can provide space for the counselee to express his feelings, as well as
solve the problem and share it with fellow group members[20]. The advantages of group
counselling lie in the dynamics of social interaction that can develop intensively in a group
atmosphere [21].
[22] defines cognitive modelling as a procedure in which a counsellor shows his client
what to do to himself when performing a task/job. Cognitive modelling is followed by Self
Instructional Training, which gives commands or advice to yourself that there are cognitive
strategies that can be used, such as self-verbalization or self-talk that has the purpose to
provide assistance so that learners are able to overcome the problems being faced. Learners
will get used to solve problems, find something useful for themselves and wrestle with ideas,
by constructing their own knowledge in their minds [16]. This is the basic view of
Constructivism. The view of constructivism suggests that reality is in one's mind. Man
constructs and interprets based on his experience. [23] explains that constructivism is an
approach that emphasizes that individuals will learn well if they actively construct knowledge
and understanding.

Meichenbaum & Goodman [24] , states that one of the purposes of use of cognitive
modelling is to develop self-control in adolescent children, especially impulsive children.
With cognitive modelling exercises, children can see a set model of speech and behaviour that
can assist them in performing a task. In other words, cognitive modelling is very effective for
developing self-control and assertive ability in children or adolescents or it is said that this
strategy will be effectively done on children/adolescents

2.1. Self-Discipline Scale (SDS)
The instrument of data collection in this research is Self Discipline Scale, where this
instrument developed to know the level of self-discipline learners, either experiment group or
control group. SDS is given before and after the intervention. SDS was developed by [4], [6]–
[9], [27] and the theory of each indicator, self regulation [13], self-control[28], and delay of
gratification[29]. All the theories are developed into a grid and are further interpreted in the
Self-Discipline Scale (SDS).
2.2. Research Procedures
This research procedure is a series of activities as a reference in completing a study. The
research procedure is like in the following figure. In accordance with Figure 2, the research
process is carried out in three stages: (1) the research subject selection stage, (2) the
intervention stage, and (3) the final stage ie post-test to the data analysis. Here is a detailed
description of the research stages.
Figure 2 Implementation Procedure
5. Cognitive Modeling Effect: Enhancing Student Self Discipline Through Self Instructional Training

1. Research Subject Selection Stage Activities undertaken at this stage is to measure the level
of self-discipline learners who then learners with low self-discipline set as research subjects.
Furthermore, the process of division of learners into the experimental group and the control
group by means of a lottery, each group of eight people.
2. Intervention Stage
This stage is the stage of implementation of the intervention. For the experimental group, the
Cognitive Modeling Self Instructional Training has conducted six meetings per 60 minutes
and in one week two meetings were held. Self Cognitive Cognitive Modeling Training
includes 7 core stages: (1) Treatment Rational); (2) Model of task and Self Guidance; (3)
Overt External Guidance; (4) Overt Self Guidance; (5) Fade Overt Self Guidance; (6) Covert
Self Guidance; (7) Homework and Follow up.
Control group according to figure 2 to meet ethical aspect, then given the conventional
method with effective group discussion because the method has been used by teachers of
counselling guidance/counsellor in school. The meeting was held six times, each meeting was
60 minutes and held 2 meetings in one week. The execution phase of each meeting includes
the opening, the core stage discussing the topic, and the cover. Topics, timing and discussion
material ineffective group discussions are conditioned to have similarities with the
experimental group.
3. Final Stage
Both the treatment group and the control group were evaluated by post-test, followed by data
analysis.
2.3. Testing Statistics
This study used a covariance analysis used as an analytical tool to test the effect of Cognitive
Self Instructional Training Modeling on low self-discipline of junior high school students.
Covariance analysis is an analysis that combines between comparative test (anava) and
correlation test (regression)[30]. This study compared and predicted simultaneously changes
in self-discipline scores on pre-test and post-test between experimental groups with Cognitive
Modeling Self-Instructional Training and control group interventions with conventional
methods. The covariance analysis in this study was done by fulfilling the prerequisite of
covariance analysis, ie no interaction between group with pre-test value or in other words pre-
test score of both equal groups.[26].
3. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
3.1. Test Result of Covariance Analysis
The results of hypothesis testing presented is the result of testing the effect of Cognitive Self
Instructional Training Modeling of self-discipline learners. In accordance with the research
design, the hypothesis is that there is a cognitive modelling effect of self-instructional training
on self-discipline learners. Hypothesis testing was performed using covariant statistical
analysis (Ankova). Prior to hypothesis testing, a correlation test between covariance (pre-test)
with the dependent variable (post-test) and interaction test between covariance (pre-test) and
independent variable (treatment group)
Covariance Correlation Test (Pre-Test) with Post-Test Variable
The following results show the correlation test between covariance (pre-test) with the
dependent variable (post-test). The basis of the test using the value of significance, ie if the
value of correlation significance is less than alpha 0.050 means there is a significant
correlation between pre-test and post-test, then the covariance analysis can proceed.

Tabel 2 Correlation test
N Pearson Correlation Sig (2-tailed)

Post-test 8
Result of correlation test between covariance (pre-test) with dependent variable (post-test)
got correlation value 0,509 with significance value equal to 0,044 less than alpha 0,050 so
condition there is correlation between covariance (pre-test) with dependent variable (post-
test). This means that the correlation shows that there is a causal relationship which is a strong
reason to use a pre-test score as a covariate (control variable)
Interaction Test between Covariance (Pre-Test) with Free Variable (Treatment Group)
The following test results of interaction between covariance (pre-test) with independent
variables (treatment group) Basic test using significance value, that is if the value of
correlation significance more than alpha 0.050 means there is a significant interaction
between pre-test and post-test, then Covariance analysis can proceed.
Table 3 Interaction Test

Pretest 1 158.438 6.354 0.027
Group*Pre-test 1 2.084 0.084 0.777
Dependent variable: post-test
The result of interaction test between covariance (pre-test) with independent variable
(treatment group) obtained F value equal to 0,084 with significance value equal to 0,777
bigger than alpha 0,050 so there is no interaction between covariance (pre-test) with
independent variable (treatment group) . It shows that there is no correlation between the pre-
test score and the type of treatment to be administered.
3.2. Hypothesis testing
Here is presented the results of hypothesis testing using covariance analysis. The acceptance
or rejection of the hypothesis is based on the p-value or significance value (sig.) Compared
with the 5% alpha value (0.050). If p-value is greater than alpha, then null hypothesis (H0) is
accepted, and if p-value is less than alpha, then the research hypothesis (H1) is accepted. So
the results of the hypothesis can be described as follows.
H0 : There is no Cognitive Modeling effect of Self Instructional Training against self-
discipline learners
H1 : There is a Cognitive Modeling effect of Self Instructional Training against self-
discipline learners
Tabel 4 Anakova Test

Pretest 1 236.576 10.207 0,007 44,0%
Dependent variable: post-test
Table 4 shows the results of Anakova testing that there are different post-test scores
between group A ie the experimental group who received the Cognitive Modeling Self
Instructional Training model and group B as a significant control group. The result obtained a
value of F count 24,557 and value of significance 0.000 less than alpha 0,050 so there is a

significant difference. Thus there is the effect of Cognitive Self Instructional Training
Modeling on self-discipline learners. The ability of self-instructional model of Self
Instructional Training Cognitive method of self-discipline improvement in this research is
65.4 percent. So it can be concluded that the hypothesis of research (H1) that there is effect
Cognitive Self Instructional Training Modeling of self-discipline learners accepted. The
results of the calculation of covariance analysis are presented in the attachment.
The results of hypothesis testing showed that there is a Cognitive Modeling Self
Instructional Training to the discipline of the counselee has been proven empirically.
Appropriate it is evident that the counselee who received treatment Cognitive Modeling Self
Instructional Training proved to increase. These findings are in line with theories of cognitive
psychology, constructive theory, and social cognitive theory as well as prior supportive
research. Kendall & Braswell [31] in his research stated that Cognitive Modeling Self
Instructional Training effect effective on cognitive behaviour change in the form of self-
control in children aged 8-12 years. In the same year, opinion is reinforced by research
Kazdin & Mascitelli (1982), which reveals that using Cognitive Modeling Self Instructional
Training openly about social skills counselees change significantly after receiving treatment.
The effect of such treatment leads the client to feel skilled in social situations.
The results of the Meichenbaum & Goodman [24]study tested the reliability of Cognitive
Modeling Self Instructional Training method against a significant reduction in impulsive
behaviour. The study amounted to 15 subjects who each group as many as 7-8 people. The
reliability of Cognitive Modeling Self Instructional Training is supported by the opinion of
Bryant & Budd (1982) which states that the procedures in Cognitive Modeling Self
Instructional Training are designed to enhance individual self-control through verbal
statements that encourage, guide and defend non-verbal actions. Self Instructional Training as
a technique to change the behaviour of the use and utilize self-talk and self-verbalization to
explore the ability of self-built potential leads to grow and develop the discipline itself.
Counselee by way of writing negative thoughts with negative words that exist on him with
poured in a self-guidance sheet. Then the counselee is asked to turn those negative thoughts
into positive thought thoughts in positive sentences that begin with asking themselves. Then
answer the questions with the plan to be done, guide yourself, focus on positive plans and
expectations, evaluate and strengthen yourself. It is poured from the thought mind into writing
(in self-guidance). Next with a composed power delivered through talking to yourself. This is
the strength of the counselling process is the ability of counselees to govern themselves with
self-talk and self-verbalization.
The end result of the formation of self-discipline that the counselee can complete the task.
In the context of this research is the formation of self-discipline counselees in directing
themselves to change themselves in order to obtain the effective consequences of the
environment. So, in the end, the counselee can change his mind to be positive and at the same
time can direct his behaviour more effectively. The counselee is in the Formal Operation
period (age 11 years to adulthood). According to [33] on cognitive psychology, this stage is
characterized by abstract thinking ability, logical reasoning and drawing conclusions from
existing information. That period, a counselee has been able to think abstractly, make logical
reasoning and draw conclusions from various information available on the environment. So
that the connection with self-discipline, then the counselee can direct, organize and control
himself and make decisions regarding his attitude and behaviour based on information he
received[34].
In accordance with Slavin [16]on constructivist theory, counsellors who have attended
group counselling with Cognitive Modeling Self Instructional Training, individually
consciously discover and freely find and transform complex information, check new

information on existing rules. Similarly, Santrock [23] explains that constructivism is an
approach that emphasizes study counselees well if they actively construct knowledge and
understanding. It is proved by being able to construct the knowledge and understanding that
poured in Homework in the form of self-reflection task at each end of core meeting in
Cognitive Modeling Self Instructional Training activities[35].
Based on the description of the effectiveness of Cognitive Modeling Self Instructional
Training on self-discipline mentioned above, it can be concluded that the method of Cognitive
Modeling Self Instructional Training is proven to effectively improve self-discipline
counselee through a cognitive approach that can construct the minds of learners through
aspects of the aspect of the delay of gratification, self-control, and self-regulation. Aspects of
self-discipline aspect is a potential counselee who will accompany the development of his
character. It is certainly done continuously as an internalization effort. Counselee with a
character who has high self-discipline appears in the manifestation of his behaviour. So that
behaviour will indirectly affect the achievement of academic achievement that will lead the
counselee to achieve success
4. CONCLUSIONS
The conclusion of this research is the effect of Cognitive Modeling Self Instructional Training
on the self-discipline of students in Junior High School. The effect is seen from the
improvement of Self-Discipline Scale score (SDS) learners before and after getting treatment
of Cognitive Modeling Self-Instructional Training. This is because the Cognitive Modeling
Self Instructional Training aims steps to increase students' personal awareness by turning
negative thoughts into positive thoughts. In addition, the Cognitive Modeling Self-
Instructional Training is accompanied by the freedom to conduct self-guidance outside the
session and the learners are able to make self-reflection as expected. Based on the above
description, it is stated that Cognitive Modeling Self-Instructional Training is effective in
improving self-discipline of learners that will impact on the increase of academic achievement
