2. Slope - Fine Grained Timeline
 To establish a programme of survey works we will first need to
agree the test locations, Italy , Austria, Norway.
 We shall request the relevant satellite imagery from our
partners.
 We will submit our flight proposal to the relevant Aviation
Authority in Italy, Austria, Norway for acceptance.
 Weather and Season are key factors which will determine a start
date, we intend to commence operations in early spring.

3. Slope -Interim Delivery Stages (With Dates).
 As part of WP2 Coastway are required to prepare as
demonstrators, firstly we will take possession of new equipment.
 We will submit sample data to our partners following test
calibration of equipment carried out at a site in Ireland.
 We will commence communication with the relevant Aviation
Authorities.
 Once we have permission to fly, maps, training may be required in
specific countries we will commence tests and on site training.
 We shall synchronise our site surveys with Treemetrics to ensure
best practice in collecting data.

4. Slope - Partners Role & Contributions.
 Coastway will survey the identified forests using a combination
of traditional GPS surveying & UAV technology
 captured data will be combined with laser scan data to provide a
digital terrain model (DTM), a digital canopy model (DCM) and
multi spectral imagery of the forest to identify the health of the
forest
 a digital elevation model (DEM) of the mountain to identify the
geo-hazards of deforestation will be produced
 geospatial and laser scanning data will enable the SLOPE
consortium to determine the biomass timber value.

5. Coastway - Dependencies between activities.
 Coastway will request commentary from all partners on their data
requirements.
 We shall set up communications as part of the Industrial Advisory
Board and offer our advice on best practice.
 We will be dependent on the Administrator and the relevant
partners such as MHG, Kesla, to advise on regulation in specific
countries.
 We will request a view of the compiled data to determine if we
can improve methods of data capture and registration of data.

6. Coastway - Risks and mitigating actions.
 There are several Risks involved in surveying using UAV’s, the
biggest risk is to the public and survey staff.
 Coastway’s mobile weather station and the relevant Aviation
Authority will dictate if flying is possible.
 Our mitigating actions include a return to home fail safe zone, a
parachute will be fitted to the UAV which can be deployed manually.
 The UAV will be fitted with a GPS locator should it crash.
 Coastway will ensure the correct insurance is in place for each test
area.
