Penny founded Tidetech with Dr Roger Proctor in 2008. Now in its sixth year of operation, Tidetech's main focus is to provide accurate oceanographic and meteorological data to meet the stringent requirements of commercial shipping. Tidetech also supports elite sailing teams and was supplier to the 34th Americas Cup, the Volvo Ocean Race and the top performing teams at the last two Olympic games. Penny's role at Tidetech is the intermediary between the science world and the maritime industry, understanding the requirements of the customers and translating this into the requirements for scientific information.
