Making Intercultural Connections: students promoting intercultural engagement Intercultural Connections Southampton has been running for the last 2 years and aims to facilitate better intercultural relations within and beyond the University of Southampton. Working closely with students we have held a highly successful intercultural festival (Welcome to our World) at which we had events and workshops facilitated by University staff, students and local groups. Linked to this we have developed a Cultural Game workshop to raise awareness of the experience of moving cultures which includes having to learn and adapt to different ways of doing and being. Finally, we have recently launched a pilot Intercultural Impact Awards scheme through which students can gain recognition for their efforts in developing projects to promote intercultural awareness and exchange. This is being rolled out as part of our Language Opportunity Scheme, which offers students free language and intercultural communication courses. We currently offer certificates of attendance for all students participating in this scheme but hope to enhance this through the intercultural impact awards scheme through which students can earn (digital) achievement badges. We are also investigating opportunities to develop a student-led social enterprise which will use some of the outcomes of the student projects in order to support and sustain the awards programme in the future.

The main findings were: 1) About one-third of teachers expressed reluctance or rejection of integrating ICT; 2) Younger teachers were more likely to use ICT, but meaningful pedagogical use required 6-7 years; 3) Merely making ICT tools available does not ensure teachers will use them effectively. Key barriers included lack of time, competence, and confidence in ICT skills.

Summer 1
Amber Vega begins her summer living with her new husband Komei Vega in Arbor Watch. They expand Amber's bookstore business and have a wedding. Amber becomes pregnant and their dog Bane mates with a new dog Cleo. Amber's bookstore does well after renovations. Bane and Cleo may have puppies soon while Amber's pregnancy continues smoothly.

Cyclic redundancy checks (CRCs) are commonly used as rolling hashes due to their fast computation. Rabin-Karp hashes also allow efficient rolling updates through arithmetic modulo a prime value. Both CRCs and Rabin-Karp hashes enable fast searching for substrings in a string by sliding the hash along the string and comparing values. Rsync utilizes a similar rolling hash approach along with MD5 hashes to efficiently synchronize files between systems.

Luganda language is one of the indigenous languages spoken by people of Uganda. Out of the 45+ indigenous languages of Uganda, Luganda is the most widely spoken with more than eight million speakers (Namyalo, 2013). Although Luganda is a fairly well documented language, and while it is being taught as a subject of study at some education institutions in Uganda, many young learners of this generation are slowly detaching themselves from its study (LTA, 2014). The need to address this challenge is urgent. Otherwise, many young learners of this generation will continue to detach themselves from the study of Luganda. When this challenge is not addressed, Luganda language will lose its continuity and risk becoming extinct. The larger study from which this paper emerges aimed at cultivating teacher-trainees’ experiences of utilising emerging technologies (ETs) in teaching to revitalise Luganda language.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing.
