- 1. EQUATORIAL CLIMATE Location: Locatedin areasnear the Equator. Latitude:0º - 15º North and South. Temperatures: Temperaturesare always high,(around25º C, as an average). It has verylittle variation of temperatures Precipitations: Veryabundantand regularprecipitation. Total amountof precipitationaround2000 l/m2 Vegetation: Vegetationislushwith abundantplantspecies. These forestedareasare knownas Rainforestor Jungle Some treesare 40 or 50 metrestall. TROPICAL CLIMATE Location: Locatedafter the equator and before the Tropics. Latitude:15º - 25º North and South. Temperatures: Temperaturesare always high. The variationof temperaturesisalittle bit higher.(Annual Average: more than 18º C) Precipitations: Abundantprecipitation. Alternationof arainy seasonanda dryseason. Total amount: 500 – 2000 l/m2 250-1500 (Dry) 1500-2000 (Humid) Vegetation: Savannas:open grasslandswithshrubs and isolatedtrees(suchas baobabsand acacias). Temperatures: Temperaturesare very highduringthe day and verycoldduringthe night. The average temperature isveryhigh Precipitations: Rainfall isveryscarce and irregular. In the oasiswe can find date palms(palmas datileras) MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATE Location: On the coasts of the MediterraneanSea, California,Chile,South Africaand Southernand southwestAustralia. Latitude 30º - 45 º North and South,Westerncoast. Temperatures: Temperaturesare Hotin summersand wintersare mild, (notreallycold winters). Little variationof temperatures. Precipitations: Precipitationisnot abundantand is very irregular. 400 – 800 l/m2 Dry summers. The rainiestseasonis Autumn. Vegetation: Evergreentreessuchas pines,holmoaksandcork oaks. (pinos,encinasy alcornoques). Scrubland formedby maquisandgarrigue (maquisygarriga).

Temperatures: MildTemperatures throughoutthe year. (There are no hot summersandno cold winters). Little variationof temperatures. Precipitations: Precipitationsare abundantand regular, (Between600–1000 l/m2) (Theycan reach 2000 l/m2) Vegetation: Deciduousforests(oak, chestnutandbeechtrees) (Robles,castaños,hayas) Scrubland formedby moorsand meadows (páramosy praderas). CONTINENTAL CLIMATE Location: Interiorof Europe,Asia and NorthAmerica. Latitude:40º - 80º approx. Temperatures: Temperatures are extreme: Hot summers Coldwinters Highvariationof temperature (evenhigher than 30º C of difference) Precipitations: Precipitationsare scarce and irregular.They are concentratedinsummer.
