This document describes several different climate types around the world. It provides details on the location, temperatures, precipitation, and typical vegetation for equatorial, tropical, hot desert, Mediterranean, oceanic, continental, polar, mountain, and taiga climates. The equatorial climate has very high, consistent temperatures near the equator with heavy rainfall and dense jungle vegetation. The tropical climate has similar temperatures but slightly more variation and alternates between rainy and dry seasons with savanna grasslands. The hot desert climate is located near the tropics and has extreme heat during the day and cold at night with very little unpredictable rainfall and almost no vegetation except for oases.
