Climate change is causing various impacts in Pakistan such as increased temperatures, changes in precipitation patterns, melting glaciers, and more frequent extreme weather events. This is affecting many sectors of Pakistan's economy and environment such as agriculture, water resources, forestry, fisheries, coastal areas, and human health and livelihoods. Pakistan is highly vulnerable to these impacts due to its heavy reliance on climate-sensitive sectors like agriculture and geography with mountains, plains, and coastal areas facing different climate-related hazards. Adaptation and mitigation actions are needed to address climate change risks and reduce emissions.
The slides contain the situation of climate change impacts and risk in Pakistan. This presentation also provides a set of key possible climate change interventions for the Pakistan Red Crescent.

Climate Change Hazards in Pakistan. A presentation by Saima Abbasi. www.saima...Saimaabbasi12
I developed a power point presentation on Climate Change hazards in Pakistan with some basic concepts, hazards facing with its impacts and future suggestions. Also linked it with global thoughts and suggestions relevant to my country showing that what steps could be taking to minimize CC impacts. It can be accessed on www.saimaabbasi.net. Target audience is mass including students at school, university and general public ( Private and government offices). Presentation is made in response to final project Turn Down the Heat: Why a 4°C Warmer World Must be Avoided online course conducted by World Bank Group.
According to ICIMOD estimates Pakistan is home to around 5218 glaciers with a total area of 15040 sq km and in addition around 2420 glacial lakes are also identified and mapped in Pakistan. Karakorum Range has the greatest share in hosting much of the glaciated ice where almost 37% of the region is under the glaciers.

Tutor2u - Scarce Resources, Choices and Economic Systemstutor2u
This introductory chapter looks at the basic economic problem. Students need to understand the problem of unlimited wants and finite resources that gives rise to scarcity and inevitable choices. The fundamental economic problem is faced by consumers, producers and the government. Ensure you can distinguish between renewable and non-renewable resources and be able to explain the concept of sustainability. Value judgements influence economic decision making and policy in all countries so make sure you are clear on the difference between positive and normative statements.
Global climate change is a change in the long-term weather patterns that characterize the regions of the world. The term "weather" refers to the short-term (daily) changes in temperature, wind, and/or precipitation of a region. In the long
run, the climatic change could affect agriculture in several ways such as quantity and quality of crops in terms of productivity, growth rates, photosynthesis and transpiration rates, moisture availability etc. Climate change is likely to directly impact food production across the globe. Increase in the mean seasonal
temperature can reduce the duration of many crops and hence reduce the yield. In areas where temperatures are already close to the physiological maxima for crops, warming will impact yields more immediately (IPCC, 2007). Drivers of climate
change through alterations in atmospheric composition can also influence food production directly by its impacts on plant physiology. The consequences of agriculture’s contribution to climate change, and of climate change’s negative impact on agriculture, are severe which is projected to have a great impact on food production and may threaten the food security and hence, require special agricultural measures to combat with.
Climate change ,adaptation and mitigation in fisheriesSWAGATIKA SAHOO
Climate change impacts on aquatic and marine ecosystems and associated livelihoods are growing, and the purpose of this circular is to provide a brief overview of potential impacts and details of ongoing and completed adaptation activities. Sharing examples will aid planning and development of adaptation in fisheries and aquaculture, and this compilation is intended to provide a starting point for planners, policy-makers, and practitioners who are involved in sectors related to fisheries and aquaculture around the globe. This introduction provides an overview of climate change impacts on fisheries and aquaculture. The presentation reviews potential mitigation and adaptation options for fisheries and aquaculture at various scales. This is followed by an overview of selected adaptation activities at various scales to demonstrate the types of activities underway or completed around the world, primarily in developing countries. This is not a comprehensive review of adaptation actions – there are other resources that provide more in-depth reviews of adaptation. However, this circular aims to provide examples of the kinds of adaptation activities specifically addressing fisheries and/or aquaculture.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.
7. Green House Gases (GHGs) SIX types of greenhouse gases with different Global Warming Potential (GWP). Usually expressed in CO2-equivalent : Carbon dioxide GWP: 1 Hydrofluorocarbons GWP: 11,700 Methane GWP: 21 Sulphur hexafluoride GWP: 23,900 Nitrous oxide GWP: 310 Perfluorocarbons GWP: 9,200
8. Sector wise Energy Consumption of Pakistan Source: Pakistan Energy Yearbook 2008
The Green House Effect Some gases like CO 2 , Methane, N 2 O, Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) etc. naturally exist in the atmosphere, the so called Green House Gases (GHGs) that form a blanket surrounding the earth and keeps the earth warmer. This is called Green House Effect . The Enhanced Green House Effect Human activities (fossil fuel burning, depletion of sinks like forests etc.) has been increasing the concentration of GHGs in the atmosphere and is leading to rise in temperatures . This is called Enhanced Green House Effect. Global Warming/Climate Change The phenomena of a rise in global temperatures of earth and other associated climatic changes as caused by the Enhanced Green House Effect is called “Global Warming” and in broader term “Climate Change”.
