10. Performance of clean India Campaign
• Between April 2014 and January 2015, 3,183,000 toilets
were built.
• Karnataka led all States in construction of toilets under the
programme.
• As of August 2015, 95 Lakhs toilets have been
constructed under the program.
• As of 27 October 2016, 56 districts in India were ODF.
• In January 2017, Indore city as well as rural areas were
announced open defecation free by the central
government.

13. Overview of Clean Campaign in Rajasthan
• Rajasthan has become an unlikely frontrunner in sanitation.
• The proportion of people with access to a toilet has more than trebled –
from under 20 percent to nearly 68 percent.
• 5 million toilets have been constructed in different houses.
• “Incentives” for toilet construction – Rs. 12,000 per Family.
• “Banko Bikaner”, “Achcho Ajmer”, “Chokho Churu” and “Achi
Bundi” like programs have been launched in Bikaner, Ajmer, Churu,
and Bundi, etc. to inspect the Cleanliness Mission.
• Bikaner was state’s first ODF district and it has achieved this status in
January 2015 itself.
• A total of 9944 villages and 2683 Gram Panchayats have been made
ODF.
