Classification Essay Sample
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Classification Essay Sample" can pose a substantial
challenge for various reasons. To begin with, the topic itself requires a nuanced understanding of
classification principles and the ability to categorize diverse elements effectively. Delving into
the intricacies of classification demands a comprehensive grasp of the subject matter, as one
must identify and differentiate between distinct categories, ensuring clarity and coherence
throughout the essay.
Moreover, the process involves meticulous research to gather relevant information and examples
that exemplify each category. This necessitates a keen eye for detail and the ability to discern
subtle differences, making the writing process both time-consuming and intellectually
demanding. Structuring the essay appropriately becomes crucial to convey the classifications
logically, and this requires a thoughtful approach to organization and presentation.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to maintaining a balance between depth and conciseness.
Each category needs to be explored adequately, yet the essay should not become overly verbose
or lose the reader's interest. Striking this equilibrium demands a refined writing style and the
capacity to convey information succinctly.
Lastly, capturing the reader's attention from the introduction and sustaining it throughout the
essay requires a certain level of creativity and finesse. Generating interest in a topic as seemingly
technical as classification calls for engaging examples, anecdotes, or compelling arguments to
hold the reader's interest.
In conclusion, tackling a "Classification Essay Sample" involves navigating through the
complexities of categorization, conducting thorough research, and presenting the information in
a clear and captivating manner. It is an intellectually demanding task that requires both analytical
and creative skills to produce a well-rounded and compelling essay.

Nutritional labelling information Key nutritional information is on front of pack
labels of bottles and cans. In Europe, they have pioneered the use of Guideline
Daily Amounts (GDAs) on front of pack labels since 2009. These show calorie,
sugar, fat, saturated fat and salt content in absolute values and as a percentage of
daily intake. These are reported per serving and as a proportion of a healthy diet,
the most important piece of information needed to control weight. Additionally, no
and low calorie beverages are clearly labelled on front of pack, so that consumers
can identify them more easily. In 2012, they were one of 12 companies that signed

Coir Industry Essay
CHAPTER I
1.1Introduction To Coir Industry
The Coir Industry has been significantly Export Oriented and a valuable foreign
exchange earner. On an average about 20 per cent of the total Coir products
manufactured are exported from the country, mainly to West European countries,
United States of America (USA) and Canada. The products include fiber, yarn, mats,
matting, rugs and carpets, rope and rubberized coir. Unfortunately, the exports in the
recent past show a declining trend. Increased competition from other countries use of
substitutes traditional methods of production delay in executing orders are some of
the major reasons mentioned for reduced exports. Because of this, the manufacturers
have started to pay more attention to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Structure Of Coir Fibre The individual fibre cells are narrow and hollow, with thick
walls made of cellulose. They are pale when immature but later become hardened
and yellowed as a layer of lignin, is deposited on their walls. Mature brown coir
fibres contain more lignin and less cellulose than fibres such as flax and cotton
and so are stronger but less flexible. They are made up of small threads, each less
than 0.05 inch (1.3 mm) long and 10 to 20 micrometers in diameter. White fibre is
smoother and finer, but also weaker. The coir fibre is relatively waterproof and is
the only natural fibre resistant to damage by salt water. Green coconuts, harvested
after about six to twelve months on the plant, contain pliable white fibres. Brown
fibre is obtained by harvesting fully mature coconuts when the nutritious layer
surrounding the seed is ready to be processed into copra and desiccated coconut. The
fibrous layer of the fruit is then separated from the hard shell (manually) by driving
the fruit down onto a spike to split it (De husking). Machines are now available
which crush the whole fruit to give the loose fibres.
Types Of Coir Fibre
Brown Fibre The Fibrous husks are soaked in pits or in nets in a slow moving body
of water to swell and soften the fibres. The long bristle fibres are separated from the
shorter mattress fibres underneath the skin of the nut, a process known as
Bird Flies Monologue
A bird flies wildly about, twisting and diving. It is panicked, trying to escape the
boy on the ground below, who hurls small, painful missiles at it from a slingshot.
The creature of the air is a splendid sight; the wings are as if covered in jade paint
and the tips dipped in a ferocious scarlet. The breast is a majestic solid blue, its
throat a sulphur yellow. And the head and the tail both are a livid, dark purple:
beautiful. Why shoot such a magnificent creature? This winged animal that soars
like we long to, high above Earth and its human troubles. Jealousy. The boy cannot
fly, he is not amazingly coloured with a rainbow of striking hues. No, he is bound
to Earth, with his pale skin and drab, dirty clothing. He will shoot down this creature
of the air because he can never be what it is, and he will take it home and brag about
how he grounded something that soars high above, unobtainable.... Show more

They will praise the thief for what he has stolen. They will praise him because he has
brought this creature down from its high perch and brought its status down to what
theirs is. Grey, Earth bound, humans, we want to be the greatest. Something is
greater than us, and we kill it, for being beautiful and free. We want the beauty for
ourselves, so we take it. We thieve what is not ours, what we can never possibly have.
We take from nature, and we slaughter it into something unrecognizable, so that we

Pros And Cons Of School Uniforms
Should students wear school uniforms? This is a topic that has been thoroughly
argued, yet to no prevail on either side. I believe school uniforms overall impact
children and the education community negatively. There are many strong reasons to
turn down this policy. These include how the uniforms effect the children and their
learning, the sneakiness behind school administrations who utilize this system, and
how the children feel about the uniforms.
First, is how the uniforms affect the children in a negative way. I know a family
just a few houses up the street whose kids go to a Catholic school. Religion set
aside, they have to wear uniforms to school. Often I see them getting out of the car,
ripping off their bows and ties with a sort of disgust. My friend from that family,
Aaron, states on the topic, They are uncomfortable, which actually distracts me
more from learning and paying attention. This shows how school uniforms affect
the learning environment negatively and impact children in a negative way.
Everyone has heard the phrase, if you get hurt it s your own fault. But what if you
never get the chance to be hurt? You ll never learn. It s the same way with
something as simple as clothing. If children wear vulgar clothing to school then you
can talk to them and tell them it s wrong. It is bad preparation for the real world if
we are telling children what to do, rather than letting them learn to better prepare
themselves for the real world.
Next, is the sneakiness behind the administration and their altered statistics. Long
beach California is a town that incorporates school uniforms into their schooling. The
district claims the academic success and low violence rates are due to the school
uniforms. They did leave out the other improvements in their districts including,
promotion of conflict resolution, peer mediation, and parental involvement. The
superintendent of this district made a comment to the Harvard Education Letter
stating, It is really hard to know exactly what is causing the positive effect. This
shows how districts are hiding other information to promote how well uniforms fix
problems when in reality, it could be many things. The American Civil Liberties

What Is The Central Theme Of Malgudia
The central theme in most of Narayan s novels are the protagonists quest for
identity but they are all of an average stature and incapable of bringing their quest
to a fruition. Savithri in the Dark Room protests against the patriarchal rudeness of
her husband and steps out of her house. She soon realises that her lack of proper
education renders her fit only for a degenerate life, so she returns to her husband s
house, where at least she can discharge her maternal duties to her children. With its
street names and institutions like Vinayaka Mudali street, Ellaman street, Kabir
Street, Abu Lane, Lawley Extension and Albert Mission College, Malgudi in its
setting is the microcosm of the multicultural society that Indian towns were
becoming during the previous century. From silent movies to talkies as sources of
entertainment, a new film studio being established and new industries coming up,
Malgudi has been growing from a country town to a city over the years. Gradual
development from the British Raj to Independent India is marked by the early
presence of companies and banks owned by English men to the many new avenues
of employment opening out in later times. The consistent working on the same
ambience provides validity to the novels. This is what D.H.Lawrence speaks of as

Short Story about Falling into the Wrong Crowd of
Friends...
I never understood how difficult it would be to leave the only place I called home.
I always thought I would live the rest of my life in Tennessee. One night at the
dining room table I realized that all my hopes of growing up with my best friends
and family were vanishing. It was a typical school night at my house in July. My
mother had set five place settings, and placed the spaghetti and garlic bread in the
middle of the table. My two brothers and I talked of what had happened at school
that day. Then my father stood up. He is not a big man, sort of short and on the bald
side, but something in his standing up made me take my attention off my spaghetti
and focus on him. My fathers face seemed scrunched up, like he had... Show more

My two brothers were more excited about the topic of moving because they dont
know how to take pride in what our town has. My dad pulled me aside from the
dinner table and started talking to me about how my life will change, and how
good it s going to be. All i could say was Dad please don t make me move . The
next couple weeks of my life was terrible, it was all about sitting in my room
packing up all my childhood memories. It took two moving trucks and my dad s
brutally painted green van to empty our big brown house with the greenest grass in
the town of Albaturkey, Tennessee. Driving through Albaturkey for the last time
on the old, cracked side roads with the black oak tree s surrounding our van was a
time that had impacted me for the rest of my life, just then I realised this was
really it I m moving . We arrived when the skies were black, you could see the
bright tiny stars from here much clearer and the moonlight made the ocean
sparkle. Wake up! mom yelled, today is moving day! . Me and my two brothers
dragged ourselves downstairs through this strange house that we now call home.
We emptied the trucks and van and started to settle ourselves in. My room was
much bigger here and had gigantic windows and one opened up to be a balcony. It
took us a good month to finally get everything in place, we never even got a chance
to check out our new city yet

Antigone Vs Lysistrata
The most important difference between the plays Antigone and Lysistrata are the
underlying tones of each play. Antigone is quite serious and deals with darker
subject matter involving birds and dogs devouring a human s body and flesh; while
Lysistrata is more light hearted and geared towards husbands wanting to devour their
wives in a different way. Imagine the mood of each play was reversed, Antigonewas
more cheerful and happy while Lysistrata was morbid and dark, the story of each
play would change drastically and would not have the same meaning. This difference
between the plays tones is what categorizes them into a tragedyor comedy . Without
these important aspects of the plays, their meaning and delivery would entirely
change. Although... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are plenty of reasons for them being so different but the all encompassing
reason would be the tone of each play which shapes the stories as a whole.
Changing these tones and aspects of the play drastically alters its meanings and
messages which, as aforementioned, is what makes each play a tragedy and a
comedy. Almost every difference between these plays is a result of the differing
atmospheres each play gives off. The purpose of each play is also different
because of these tone; Antigone was to represent the struggle of Religion and Law
along with destiny while Lysistrata served to show how unequal men and women
were at the time but in a strangely odd and slightly sexist fashion. If you were to
change the play s tone these messages would be lost or heavily altered. If Antigone
lived on then it would become a story of triumph for the morally good and if
Lysistrata failed it would show the devastating effects war can have on families in
those countries. This raises an interesting point as would these stories have been
better or worse by being putting made into a different genre with different
Zero Tolerance In The Workplace
Zero tolerance, a concept that first appeared in the early 1980s, helps to ensure that
each individual who breaks a stated rule or law receives the same penalty. This
prevents subjectivity in determining punishment for individuals (Johns,2009). Zero
tolerance policies in the workplace typically leaves very little discretion for an
employer, which result in termination for a first infraction. Zero tolerance policies
provide for automatic punishment for violating a company rule (Johns,2009). The
author points outs, the policy do not allow managers to consider personal or
extenuating circumstances. A great example of this policy often occurs with in
correctional agencies or police forces. Where a staff member failed to follow policy,

our next destination would be to Africa, particularly South Africa. After reading

Advice to First Writing Course at the University of Central Florida
Writing courses can be challenging and that is why I decided to write this personal
narrative. I believe that a personal narrative is better for an advice column than a

insight on how the course was. It would be more valid since it is true. I think people
learn better when they read and hear something from the person they are talking to
rather than being about other people, especially when it comes to advice.

They can properly quote it or paraphrase it using MLA format. This will demonstrate
the student using strategies to better comprehend difficult texts. Students should also
learn to adapt to different writing contexts. Throughout this course, I had to learn
new vocabulary such as rhetorical situation and discourse community. These are
actually types of essays I had to write during this course. When writing these types
of essays, one has to keep in mind their audiences and their own experience. Lastly,
students will consider how social, rhetorical, and technological contexts shape writing
because it reflects sensitivity to school writing as a social affair (McCarthy 231).
There are some constraints that I had to think about when deciding the genre of
this paper. One constraint to this personal narrative is the time I took this course. I
took ENC 1101 during the Summer B section. Summer B was only six weeks long
and I had to learn the concepts of this course in that amount of time when it usually
takes around sixteen weeks. This made the course much harder for me and other
students. Especially because English is my second language, it takes me longer to
read and analyze articles. This was also one out of two of my first classes as a
college students. It is a different environment and I had to adapt to different situations
and expectations. Another constraint is about those students that already have credit

Analysis Of Michael Jackson s The Equalization Of...
Throughout our generation today, the equalization of blacks and whites is a very
big controversy in everyday life. This year white actor Joseph Fiennes was
reportedly chosen to cast as the role of the superstar Michael Jackson in a British
movie about a road trip Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando took after the
incident of 9/11. This articles speaks about the uproar of the African Americans about
the decision to have a white man play the artistic icon of African Americanculture,
Michael Jackson. It discusses who is able to assume a specific role in movies based
on raceand culture of the character compared to the person playing the character.
Without getting the opinions of people on who they think should play the iconic
popstar, they chose a white man. Joseph Fiennes, a white British man, was given
the role of Michael Jackson in the upcoming British film Elizabeth, Michael,
Marlon . Many people, particularly African Americans, were outraged with this
decision, especially since this was the second year in a row that all the Academy
Award nominees were white. African Americans feel that Michael Jackson,
considered to be a cultural hero and greatest song and dance man of the 20th
century should be played by a black actor. It makes you wonder if a white actor can
play a black character or vice versa. This discussion demonstrates two different
sociological concepts. One being of racial socialization as it relates to the raceof the

sentence is very interesting to me, because it is saying that her head is not only
badly organized but a switchboard as well. Comparing her head to a switchboard
implies that someone besides herself is in control of her mind. In the line where
crossed lines crackle (9), proves to the reader, that her mind consists of many
different malfunctions and confusions. In the next six lines the speaker changes it up

Ancient Calendars
Accepted systems for the division of time into days, months, and years, calendars
reflect a human effort to measure and order extended periods of the future. Scholars
divide calendars into three general categories lunar, solar, and lunisolar depending
upon whether their temporal divisions are principally based upon the movements of
the moon or the sun or on a compromise between both. Regarding Western forms of
chronology, in which solar reckoning of time predominates, historians have studied
calendar reform, which encapsulates many scientific advancements and cosmological

Building upon the work of the astronomer Christoph Clavius, whose calculations
had produced a closer approximation of the tropical year, the Gregorian Reform
removed centurial leap years, except for those divisible by 400. While the reform
was rapidly accepted throughout Catholic Europe, Protestant countries were resistant.
Over time, new scientific discoveries concerning the mechanics of the universe were
brought to light, causing astronomers, regardless of religious persuasion, to
acknowledge the errors of the old system. Notably, as the work of Sir Isaac Newton
in the seventeenth century effectively annihilated the last remnants of the ancient and
flawed Ptolemaic cosmological model and presented a new vision of the universe,
resistance began to erode. Eventually the German states fell into line by 1699, in
large part due to the lobbying efforts of Newton s contemporary, Gottfried Wilhelm

Essay on The Russian Mob
The Russian Mob: Organized Crime in a Fledgling Democracy
Since the late 1980 s the Russian people have experienced one of the most drastic
transitions seen in the world to date, a transition from an attempt at communism to a
workable capitalist system. As one would expect, this transition has not been painless
and has been the impetus of many distressing problems for the Russian people. One
such problem is organized crime. This paper will explore how organized crime during
Soviet rule and the Russian Federation has created obstacles in this transition to a
functioning market economy. It will illustrate how organized crime has done this by
analyzing its transition from the USSR to the Russian Federation, the reasons behind

This expansion was aided by perestroika s opening up of market opportunities. In
Leningrad, as much as 90% of the cooperatives produced by the liberal policies of
perestroika were deeply involved with organized crime (Anderson, 1995, 352). The
extensiveness of organized crime in the USSR is quite apparent when one examines
such numbers, but the more important question is what was inherent in the USSR
that facilitated such crime and how this later affected organized crime in the Russian
Federation.
Two characteristics of the USSR were integral in the development of a powerful
organized crime syndicate. These were an excessive bureaucratic power and the
presence of illegal markets (Anderson, 1995, 347). This excessive bureaucratic
power facilitated organized crime by providing a basis for corruption, bribery,
shakedowns, and extortion (Anderson, 1995, 346). These were no small problems
either. According to the All Union Research Institute of the Soviet Interior Ministry
in 1991, about half of the income of the average government employee consisted of
bribes (Sterling, 1994, 93). However, the presence of illegal markets was even more
essential to the existence of a mafia in the USSR. Everyone is aware that illegal
markets such as alcohol during the prohibition period or drugs today elicit organized
crime, yet this association was unique in the USSR. In the USSR, every form of
economic transaction that did not involve the government

Orphan Black
When the pilot episode starts, you know there s going to be drama. A lone woman
on a train platform donned in a leather jacket evokes the feeling of trouble coming.
When she sees a jumper seconds before the suicide and witnesses her own face
looking back, our trouble evocation is confirmed. Danger and clones are coming.
Tatiana Maslany plays all the female clones to great amusement. Sarah, the main
clone, is an English orphan who had been put through the foster system with her

eventually saved and moved to North America by Mrs. S.

one magician, if he moves his hand in a straight line, people will focus on the start

theory, he can move things around without his audience noticing, therefore altering
our perceptions. (St. Joseph s Hospital and Medical Center. (2012, May 22).

Synesthesia is a neurological condition that causes the brain to process data in the
form of several senses at once. (Bradford, A. (2017, October 18). What Is
Synesthesia? Retrieved April 03, 2018). There are many different kinds of
synesthesia, with 61 recorded to date according to Julia Simner s article (Jewanski,
J., Day, S. A., Simner, J., Ward, J. (2014). The beginnings of an interdisciplinary
study of synaesthesia. Retrieved May 18, 2018). It s hard to pin down how much
of the current population has some form of synesthesia. Many don t find out they
have the condition until it is brought up later in life and so many others go
undiagnosed. This is due to the fact that if someone perceives something the same
way from birth to death, it is hard to believe that everyone else doesn t see or feel
the same thing. And because the definition of synesthesia is changing and more
and more types are being discovered, it can be hard to keep track of which one a
person may own. People with more rare types of synesthesia are more likely to be
dismissed due to lack of education on doctors about the condition, whereas a
person with grapheme color synesthesia is much easier to diagnose since it is one
of the more common forms of synesthesia. Anywhere from one in one hundred
thousand people to one in five thousand can have synesthesia. Unfortunately,
because of the high rates of undiagnosed cases with synesthesia and the fear of
being ridiculed or shunned because of the condition, it can skewer survey efforts.
Surveys show that many with synesthesia are middle class, English speaking white
women, but this may be untrue. Lack of education on synesthesia and the fear of
public ridicule is a driving force on why the face of synesthesia is so generic, with
more men and women of color less likely to fully realize that they have a

property that you want and you have agreed upon the terms with the seller. It is
possible (and frequently done by the Spanish, when no mortgage is involved) to see
a Spanish property, pay a small initial deposit then go to the Notary to complete the
Escritura (deeds) within a couple of days. The propertywill then be yours and you
will be able to take possession. However, in practise, this is not a good way of
proceeding for a foreigner buying property in Spain for the first time. It is better to
operate on a slower escalator of risk and commitment that allows you to operate a
measured purchase process that carefully ensures that the property you want is...

It is known that feminism, both as a theory and as a political movement, is manifold
and heterogeneous. Different feminist organizations act in different ways and on
different fronts, ranging from cultural actions and population awareness on gender
inequality, production of theoretical material and media publication, practical action
in peripheral communities, participation in political councils and forums,
organizations in women association, participation in electoral disputes among many
others.
The way of the judicialization of rights is, therefore, one of several paths adopted in
the construction of a less unequal society. It is also important to note that the path of
judicialization is not exclusively feminist, law has been used as an instrument of

Examples Of Unsung Heroes Of American Revolution
American Revolution: Unsung Heroes of Independence We hold these truths to be
self evident: that all men and women are created equal. (Elizabeth Cady Stanton,
1848). During the American Revolution, America went from being an extension of
Britain (and a source of revenue when needed) to an independent nation built upon
the grecian idea of democracy. When people hear the names George Washington
,
Benjamin Franklin, or Thomas Jefferson, they easily connect them to the capable
leaders and revolutionary heroes who made great contributions during America s
delicate infancy. These men, along with countless others, fought for the end of the
monopolization Britain held over the colonies and undyingly laid down their lives for
the pursuit of freedom. However, do the names Deborah Sampson, Peter Salem, or
Friedrich Wilhelm von Steubenring a bell? Women, people of color, and Europeans
from all different walks of life were also swept up in the war for independence. The
war did not feature people of one gender, race, or nationality. These individuals were

major credit towards white men for our country s freedom. The figures history teaches

Analysis of †Patterns’ Written by Amy Lowell
Essay
Amy Lowell is an American imagist poet who uses descriptive language to create
specific images in a readers mind. Set in the Victorian era (1800 s,) the dramatic
monologue Patterns explores the restrictions of unmarried women in society and
the desire for freedom. My view of these issues is that of a feminist reader living in
a democratic modern day society, where men and women live in a state of equality
and have the right to express their opinions. A feminist reading focuses on the
specific treatment of women. Through Lowell s wondrous use of the poetic
techniques, primarily visual imagery (symbolism, repetition, contrasts) and poetic
voice (persona and tone,) a modern day feminist reader s negative views of the

This develops the idea that her future with this man as a married woman provided a
stable lifestyle where she would not have to live by the rigid patterns of society,
reinforcing a modern day feminist reader s view of the expectations and restrictions
placed on unmarried women during the Victorian era.
There is a distinct contrast between appearance and reality, which works to
reinforce the idea of confining individualistic behaviours to retain the pattern of
society. In stanza two, she says that tripping by in high heeled, ribboned shoes
/ (there is) not a softness anywhere about (her) (lines 16 and 17) when she s
wearing only whalebone and brocade (line 18.) The term whalebone refers to a
whalebone corset, which is a very hard material that is restrictive to movement. By
describing her actions as tripping, a modern day feminist reader is reinforced that
she is not coping in her current lifestyle where she is limited to living in a strict
manner. In the next stanza, she says that underneath (her) stiffened gown/ Is the
softness of a woman (lines 32 and 33.) This develops the idea that the way she
dresses is a deceiving appearance, because she is not as stiff and stable on the
inside as she comes across on the outside. Deep down she is soft and sad, in
mourning of the loss of her lover, yet she cannot express these emotions due to the
expectations and restrictions of women during the Victorian era.
A King Is The Ruler
A king is the ruler, the maker or laws, and is the heart and representation of a
country. Dynasties rise and fall, under the reign of their king. He is sometime called
the chosen one, as he has the power to either bring the country to its glory, or bring
ruin and devastation. Thus, throughout the history of Israel, the three kings Saul,
David, and Solomon where all chosen by God, and each of them had contributed to
the development of the nation.
Before the time of the three kings, those who reign over Israel were the Judges.
However, the beginning of 1 Samuel unfolded the fading of their era (New
International Version). By the time the leadership lay in the hands of Eli and his
ungodly sons, God had stopped speaking to them and gave His guidance to Samuel
(Hinson and Yates 163). Thus, in time, Samuel gained his judgeship and led the
nation to victory and peace. However, as he aged, the people wish to have a king.
Since Samuel son s did not proved to be faithful to the Covenant the way their
father did, the people believed it is necessary to requested for a king (Constable,
Notes on 1 Samuel). They claimed: (w)e want a king over us. Then we will be like
all the other nations, with a king to lead us and to go out before us and fight our
battles (1 Samuel 8: 19 20, NIV). Indeed, having a king would give the power against
other enemies. Nonetheless, the people of Israel ultimately failed to understand that
their true King, the one and only that helped them throughout

How Did Classical China Change Its Style Of Government
Classical China, between 100 C.E to 600 C.E. continued the philosophy of
Confucianism, but it changed its style of government which began with a dynasty
before falling apart into many kingdoms, and Daoism became more popular amongst
the people. One trait that continued in Classical China was its philosophy of
Confucianism. Confucius taught that one s position in society should be based on
skill, not their lineage. The Han dynastys leadership was based on his teaching so
they created a civil service exam to permit citizens to ascend the social ladder.
Confucianism sustained after the fall of the Han dynasty through Shu Han s emperor,

Australian Aboriginal Disadvantages
Introduction
Australia s situation regarding the social disadvantage of its Indigenous peoples is
not unique, New Zealand, Canada, and the US all have Minority Indigenous
populations, which suffer today due to ill treatment, and persecution from their
colonial masters. Australia is different, in its uniquely negative results. Australian
Aboriginals and American Indians are similar: they were the Aboriginal people of
their lands, and their populations were decimated with the advent of colonisation,
and became segregated, treated as second class citizens for decades. And today; even
when they are equal are still at a major disadvantage in most social outcomes.

Introduced in 1996, in the three strikes system, strikes were accumulated upon
conviction for burglary offences if several burglary offences are heard concurrently,
they count as one strike once an individual accrued three strikes they were given a
mandatory minimum sentence (Wahlquist, 2015). The new legislation tightens the
parameters for a strike meaning that an adult with a clean record, but has committed
three burglaries in as many days would automatically qualify for two years in jail.
Peter Collins, of the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia
, said that
legislation of this nature will adversely affect Aboriginal people, as burglary is a
crime driven by poverty (Wahlquist, 2015). Aboriginal people are the most
impoverished: in 2014, approximately 20% of Aboriginals were living under the
poverty line (Australian Council of Social Services, 2014). In the same year, 54%
of working age Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people were unemployed,
supporting Mr. Collins argument ([B] Australian Bureau of Statistics, 2016). Collins
also highlighted that such laws could compound recidivism rates as it would
allocate a greater prison sentence for lesser crimes: in 2015 70% of Aboriginal men
reoffended within two years, and Aboriginal boys in youth detention had a recidivism
rate of 90% (Wahlquist,
Flippo Brunelleschi Accomplishments
Filippo Brunelleschi is considered a founding father of the renaissance, known for his
innovative contributions in art, design, and architecture. He developed brilliant
techniques for linear perspective and his artwork was acclaimed everywhere for its
precision and beauty. In 1418, the Cathedral of Florencewas about to undergo a
seemingly impossible task. The unfinished Cathedral was in need of a grand dome
to complete the enormous hole in its roof. At the time, no one had ever undergone
building a dome as large as 150 feet across, especially at 180 feet above ground!
Even with all of the difficulties present, the city of Florence offered a large
commission to the person with the best idea for completing the task. Even though

Could a dome weighing tens of thousands of tons stay up without them? Was a
dome structure even possible given the octagonal floor plan, without collapsing in

time to maneuver the heavy materials so far off the ground. Brunelleschi utilized
innovative lifting inventions to deal with this problem. His complex system of
gears and pulleys were so incredibly groundbreaking, they wouldn t be rivaled until
the industrial revolution. He discovered a brilliant scientific way to account for
every problem looming over the project. He used two shells within the dome bound
with large hoops, supported by tension rings of stone, iron and wood. He built the
first 46 feet in stone and continued with brick, a much lighter material. This discovery
is revolutionary even today, and it paved the way for cultural and social revolutions
of the Renaissance. Even though Brunelleschi invented the idea and oversaw the

The stability of bitcoin as a currency is still controversial. Thus, I would like to say
that though bitcoin has a lot of advantages, it has some definite weaknesses to be a
substitute for currencies. Firstly, there have been lots of different form of virtual
currencies so far. And they all got shrunk. If someone is a good programmer,
anybody can make a new digital currency. If so, the advantage of bitcoin which is
that there is a limit for issuing amount will disappear.
Moreover, existing currencies are based upon each nation s control. Currency
economies cannot exist outside of taxation systems. As most all of the nations are
operated by tax, governments will not permit the free trade of electronic currency
which is operated outside of taxation system. Actually, the China Central Bank
announced that as the bitcoin is not a genuine currency, it cannot have a legal status.
They also said that any financial institution or company cannot put a price of bitcoin
and guarantee products that related to bitcoin.
South Korea government also stated that the bitcoin is a product which cannot be
protected by Korean laws. Because the bitcoin has a possibility to be abused in
many ways. It is against the Korean real name financial system and can be used as a

Obviously, the bitcoin is one of the new flows in international business. However, it
has many limits to be a substitute for real currencies. Economy cannot be detached
Language Does Not Empower Women
Additionally, the ineffectiveness of Perdita s rhetoric furthers Shakespeare s claim
that language does not empower women in the lower class shepherd s court. For
example, during Perdita and Polixenes discussion of flowers, Perdita s language is
unable to persuade Polixenes to agree with her opinions. Perdita states that she
[cares] not/ To get slips of carnations and gillyvors because they are nature s bastards
and are not natural. She continues by asserting that There is an art which in their
piedness shares/ With great creating nature, explaining her beliefthat because the
flowers are made through crossbreeding, they are unnatural and therefore their beauty
is artificial since it is owed equally to nature and the gardener that bred them (IV.4.82
89). However, Polixenes is unconvinced by this claim and instead states that although
nature is made better by no mean, all means of attempting to improve nature must
themselves be natural. Therefore, Polixenes believes, the apparently artificial quality
of crossbred flowers is an art/ That nature makes and thus art itself is nature (IV.4.89
97). Perdita has no response to Polixenes view and yields to his argument. This
conversation demonstrates that Perdita s rhetoricin the court of the shepherd is
largely unsuccessful and does not empower her or further her opinions in the same
manner as the language of Paulina and Hermione does. Overall, Shakespeare conveys
his claim that Perdita s powerand influence in the

Kyoto Protocol Is An International Agreement
Introduction to the Kyoto Protocol
Kyoto Protocol is an international agreement which was announced in Kyoto, Japan
in 1997. It is considered as the supplement of the UNFCCC (United Nations
Framework Convention on Climate Change) and the main target for the Kyoto
protocol is to reduce the emissions of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. Nowadays,
there are 192 Parties that have signed and ratified the Kyoto Protocol and the overall
emission of these countries accounts for 61% of the total greenhouse gases emission
on world. The agreement was designed first to solve the issue on greenhouse gas
emission and it is one of the most well known environmental issue in public and
becomes worse and worse through time. Therefore, reducing greenhouse gas emission
today is necessary and crucial for the sustainability of the environment. One of the
most famous impact of greenhouse gas emission is the sea level increasing. As the
tremendous amount of greenhouse gas emissions in 21 century, it leads to the global
warming and thus the Earth s climate has warmed by approximately 0.6 Celsius
degree over the past 100 years. Increasing of sea level makes island countries such as
Maldives face the problem that the majority of its land area might be underwater by
the end of the century( Union of Concerned Scientists,2011).
The specific goal that the developed countries have to meet is to reduce the
greenhouse gas emission by around 5% below their 1990 levels from 2008 to 2012
and the amounts may

magazines, and internet. From reporting the news to persuading us to buy certain
products, media became the only connection between people and the world. But
violencein media is shown everywhere, it is hard to turn on your media source and
not find violence displayed on the screen, no matter its television, internet, print
media, or even radio. Eventually, media became a contributing factor to violent and
aggressive behavior... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People are unaware of the importance in this matter because they have not noticed
the effects media violence has brought to our society and our world. Also, after
decades of developing, violence seems to be an indispensable element in the media
culture, which leads to the next question. How? How does violence started to play a
decisive role in the mass media?
When the television was first invented and released for consumer use at the 50s,
television was still a small, plastic box, with black and white ghost like figures on a
snowy screen that has coarse audio quality. This epochal invention started a whole
new market, a whole new generation. As time passed, more and more varieties of
television shows were shown and appear to fulfill the different taste of different
audiences in the world. And some of them, contained violence. Violence slowly
developed and worked its way up to people s minds and its position in media.
News, TV shows, and even cartoons are filled with bloody humor and violent
plots. A lot of movies even have violence as the central part of their plot. In fact,
violence and bloody scenes became the main selling point of most movies. Violence
works as stimulus in a movie, and this kind of extreme visual strike is exactly what
the audiences is looking for. A perfect example would be the Saw trilogy, the bloody
horror film that
The Role Of Subgenre In American Horror Films
Hollywood, more than any other film industry, deserves to be attributed with the
creation of the horror genre. Even though it is not responsible for the first attempts
at horror movies, it certainly shaped the genre into what it is today and made it
accessible to global audiences. The appearance of horror movies happens in cycles
with a distinct pattern that repeats itself a movie appears, delivers thrills to the
audience, and suddenly, due to low production costs, sequels and remakes are made,
or original films based on the same formula. This way, different subgenres are
produced. Eventually, the market becomes saturated and the subgenre dies. As the
1980s came to a close, the American horror filmseemed locked into an endless loop
of formulaic... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Most of the classics seem to have fallen prey to the greedy hands of the movie
industry in hopes of collecting profit. A sequel to George A. Romeros Night of the
Living Dead was made in 2004, in 2007 Rob Zombie directed his version of John
Carpenter s Halloween, Gus Van Sant directed the remake of Hitchcock s Psycho
and The Saw franchise is due to get its eighth sequel released in 2017. Hantke calls
this the symptom of the crisis of contemporary American horror film (6). Some of
these films did very well at the box office but most of them didn t, largely due to
the loss of originality and the ability to surprise and shock, which stands at the
basis of every successful horror film. The next step for the challenged horror
industry was the process of transnationalization searching for inspiration outside
familiar borders, more specifically turning to East Asia. The initial phase of J
horror s rising popularity in the United States, for example, was largely driven by a
search, on the part of hardcore fans, for more exotic and extreme forms of horror
film. (Hantke 12) However, Hantke states that this is not an isolated phenomenon,
since Hollywood has always thrived
History Of Canada During The Conquest Of The Desert
Two course themes which the Conquest of the Desert connects to are legacy of
colonialism, as well as assimilation. The Conquest of the Desert occurred in
Argentina in Patagonia from 1789 to 1790 with the aim to establish dominance over
Indigenous groups in the area, as well as to convert the Indigenous populations.
Throughout this time, thousands of Indigenous peoples were killed and displaced by
the Argentine settlers, (Bustos Videla, 1964). The Conquest of the Desert is a clear
example of colonialism, which is the process in which a group of settlers establish a
settlement in another country, which affects those who were Indigenous to the land,
(Morgan, The Legacy of Colonialism, 2017). Often this will often involve the
extrication of Indigenous peoples from their lands, their history, their identity and
their rights, (Morgan, The Legacy of Colonialism, 2017). This event in Argentine
history also an example of religious assimilation, as one of the main... Show more

Throughout my time in the country, my interest in the history of the people who live
there grew. Additionally, during my time in Argentina, often, myself and the other
volunteers were asked to reflect on different aspects of our countries. Usually while
discussing Canada, the topic of the treatment of Indigenous peoples within Canada
came up, especially when discussing some of the contemporary issues in Canada. As
a result, my interest in the Indigenous people living in Argentina, as well as the
history of the Indigenous people enhanced. Throughout my time there, I often asked
locals about the treatment of Indigenous peoples but few people knew a lot about
the Indigenous population, apart from where the majority of them lived. I have
decided to do my research essay on the Conquest of the Desert because it is an
important example of how Indigenous peoples in Argentina were
Epicurus Fear Of Life
Francisco MartГnez 818886517 PHIL 401A: Writing Assignment #3 Epicurus was
born in the city of Samos. Epicurus practiced philosophy as a student with a
follower of Democritus. This relationship influenced the work of Epicurus, notable
in the belief Epicurus held of atoms and the void. Known as the Garden, the name
given to the location and individuals that joined Epicurus in contemplation away
from society, was the birthplace of Epicureanism (the school of thought that valued
friendship, pleasure, and modest living). Epicurus is thought to have written
dozens of books, but only a few pieces remain. One of those pieces was a letter to
Menoeceus. The letter is a version from Introductory Readings in Ancient Greek and
Roman Philosophy by C.D.C. Reeve and Patrick Lee Miller. Through the letter
Epicurus advices on topics such as age and the pursuit of philosophy, the irrational
fear of death, the effects of pleasure and pain among other things. This essay will
focus on the second of the aforementioned topics. Epicurus argues that human beings
have an irrational fear of death since, death is nothing to us. In the passage of
concern (page 366) starting at seventh sentence of the second paragraph, Epicurus
writes, So, death the most frightening of bad things, is nothing to us; since when we
exist, death is not yet present, and when death is present, then we do not exist.
Therefore, it is relevant neither to the living nor to the dead, since it does not affect
the former, and the
My Occupation Of Steam-Ship Voyages
I could have gone to the Philippines and gotten paid for next to no work, but no I
decided a to work a steamship that was passing through the Straits of Magellan. My
name Lindsley, I sailed cutters right up until the steamships dominated the freight
industry. The Philippines run that I turned down was the last freight run the
company was going to do. Instead, I decided to switch my occupation to steam
ships, after all, they were the freighters of the future. The day I began this new
occupation of steam ships men was a bright sunny L.A. day, this good start
contrasted how the hardship the voyage was to hit. The port was familiar, so were
the cutters that rested in the docks, creaking, and moaning as if they knew what fate
awaited them... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We continued like this until our shift ended, half asleep, yet still aware of our
surroundings. Many more nights passed, some calm, some so stormy you couldn t
see your hand in front of your space. Turns out the delivery guys were right,
somehow they managed to install the prop shaft on a floating ship, normally this is
done in a dry dock, in less than a month. The captain stuck to his word and we
continued onto New Orleans. When we got there we were treated like any normal
boat, the dockworkers completely oblivious that we had spent 9 months in one of the
most remote parts of the world. As we unloaded the cargo in the sweltering southern
heat and the suffocating 90% humidity we gazed upon the ship more fondly than any
before. She didn t have the wind worn masts or the huge white sails hanging from the
masts, or the creaking timbers, but I felt more at home on it than any of uncountable
amount of ships I sailed
The Gospel And The Grateful Dead Analysis
The Gospel and the Grateful Dead by The Rev. Dr. Pitman B. Potter discussed the
spiritual themes present through the work of the Grateful Dead. This book went into
great detail and examined the lyrics and actions of the band. The themes in this book
directly reflected the spiritual and biblical values of community, and sharing, as well
as the importance of thanksgiving and praise. One of the biggest messages that is
present through the entire novel is the theme of community. Potter uses Brandelius
quote, Musical performances too were structured as community events in some cases,
dance classes and funded on a shoestring budget with little, if any, actual profit
returning to the band. (Potter, 21) This quote directly represents how The Grateful...

Hart said, God is sound. (Potter, 58) This quote resonated with me because no
three words have ever spoken more truth. Coming from a musical, Catholic
background, I have always been told that singing is praying twice. Music truly is a
gift from God because God gave us the ability to hear. So, the question comes up,
what does God want us to hear? I think that God ultimately wants us to hear his
voice and know his will. Potter throws in an interesting quote by Jackson, Music
goes back before language does. And music is like the key to a whole spiritual
existence which this society doesn t even talk about. We know it s there. (Potter,
58) This quote reminds me of lyrics to one of my favorite songs of all time. Stevie
Wonder wrote, Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand.
(Sir Duke) Also, Wonder wrote, Music knows it is and always will be one of the
things that life just won t quit. (Sir Duke) Relating these lyrics to the quote, it
makes me realize that the lyrics are not what make up the song. The music being
played, however, is what makes music important. Music truly is a universal
language. Throughout the world, different cultures speak different languages. They
write differently and speak differently. However, pick up a piece of sheet music in
any location of the world, and it will always be the same. There will be a staff with
notes, clefs, measures, and a time signature. Music is a language within itself. It is
not taught by being spoken, rather it is taught by being played. So, music connects
the world into a community. Music creates a universal bond that is unlike any other.
This bond is spiritual on a different level. Music is timeless because no matter what
year, someone will always be able to play the music. This spiritual bond connects us
throughout the world. I think that ultimately, through sound, God is connecting us to
be one.
Market Wage Essay
Market analysts Thomas Piketty and Emmanuel Saez have built wage measurements
in view of IRS information that backpedal to 1913 to give a long haul point of view
on patterns in the centralization of wage inside the main 10 percent of the circulation.
Since they have no immediate information on non filers and on the grounds that in
any year just around 10 to 15 percent of potential assessment units needed to record a
pay government form before World War II, Piketty and Saez concentrate on the offer
of pay got at the highest point of the dispersion.
Their wage idea is showcase salary before singular wage charges. Market wage is
characterized as the total of all pay sources provided details regarding expense forms
including acknowledged ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They likewise don t represent government money exchanges or for open and private
non money advantages, for example, government wellbeing and sustenance help
advantages and boss paid medical coverage benefits.
The offer of individual pay originating from people in general and private non
money benefits that are absent from the Piketty Saez salary measure has expanded
throughout the years. Subsequently, add up to salary as registered by Piketty and
Saez has represented a diminishing offer of individual pay in the national pay and
item accounts after some time. This could contort their appraisals of what offer of
the development of aggregate salary has come at the highest point of the circulation.
For instance, business supported medical coverage benefits are undoubtedly a
significantly littler part of pay for the main 1 percent than for by far most of center
pay charge units; excluding them could downplay wage development amidst the
conveyance in respect to development at the best.
Since every individual wellspring of promptly accessible information on pay
dispersion has distinctive points of interest and constraints, no single source
delineates the greater part of the significant patterns in disparity in the course of
recent decades or something like that. In a perfect world, we would take a gander at
an extensive measure of pay
Why Did Hitler Contribute To The Treaty Of Versailles
Example 1: If the Treaty of Versailles had not been so harsh, Hitler may never have
been able to rise to power in the way that he did.
The Treaty were harsh and included provinces to limit the size of German army to
100000 men, pay large reparation and returned the former provinces to French.
And it contributed to massive hyperinflation which crippled the German economy,
Germany was in fear, insult at that time. The terms caused anger, even hatred and
the desire for revenge. So the German people were in need of a leader that could
bring back the power to Germany and let them get out of the Great Depression.
Hitler, with his persuasive speeches and confident demeanor, was exactly what
Germany thought they need. Further, the Nazi party which Hitler leaded portrayed
the solution for German people, generating the false sense of hope for the party
and promised them the party would bring the people back to a secure, steady and
prosperous way of life. Many people who could not find jobs during the Great
Depression joined the party and more and more people joined due to the great
propaganda. Thus, the Treaty of Versaillescontributed greatly to the alienation many
Germans felt about their civilians, democratic government, and when these combined
with the actions of the military, it provided a rich material for Hitler to use to gain
the support of those on the right.
If the Treaty of Versailles had not been so harsh, the Nazi party may unable to rise.
And in this way, Germany

conflict if organization has more interdependence, diversity, and resource scarcity.
There are prevention factors that help to reduce the amount of conflict. When people

perspective about how critical resources should be distributed and critical
contingencies handled is more likely. In contrast there are precipitating factors
United States Involvement in Vietnam Essay
United States Involvement in Vietnam
The end of World War Two was the beginning of America s worries about
Communism. They feared that it would spread throughout the countries of the world.
Because of this President Truman made the Truman Doctrine. This said that America
would help any nation threatened by Communism. He said that he would lead
containment in the spread of Communism and the Soviet Unions expansion. The
doctrine came from the USA believing that Eastern Europe was forced into
Communism by the Soviet Union. Therefore America saw it as their duty to help and
protect the other countries, which could be in the threat of Communism.

The Vietnamese had not liked living under foreign rule. They are Nationalists and
their communist party leader had formed the Vietminh, so called after his name Ho
Chi Minh . They later became known to the world as the Vietcong.
In 1945 the war ended and with Japan being weaker now the French influence
returned to Vietnam.
We now see the United States first bit of involvement with Vietnam, where the USA
sent money and supplies to boost the economy in France. They did not, however, help
in any other way as they thought France s presence would be enough to stop the
spread of Communism.
The Vietminh didn t like having the French influences back again and Guerrilla
warfare was used against the French. Guerrilla warfare is like general jungle warfare,
however the Vietminh dressed as peasants to disguise themselves and used their local
knowledge to make it difficult to detect attacks in the jungle.
In 1954, the battle of Dien Bien Phu took place and the Vietminh achieved a great
victory over the French, so the French decided to leave Vietnam. Until now the USA
had only provided money and equipment to France to help with the Vietnam problem.
The USA backed up a Geneva Conference, which took place. This said that Vietnam
be divided up into the Communist, North Vietnam and South Vietnam under the rule
of the Ngo Dinh Diem. The

  • 1. Classification Essay Sample Crafting an essay on the subject of "Classification Essay Sample" can pose a substantial challenge for various reasons. To begin with, the topic itself requires a nuanced understanding of classification principles and the ability to categorize diverse elements effectively. Delving into the intricacies of classification demands a comprehensive grasp of the subject matter, as one must identify and differentiate between distinct categories, ensuring clarity and coherence throughout the essay. Moreover, the process involves meticulous research to gather relevant information and examples that exemplify each category. This necessitates a keen eye for detail and the ability to discern subtle differences, making the writing process both time-consuming and intellectually demanding. Structuring the essay appropriately becomes crucial to convey the classifications logically, and this requires a thoughtful approach to organization and presentation. Furthermore, the challenge extends to maintaining a balance between depth and conciseness. Each category needs to be explored adequately, yet the essay should not become overly verbose or lose the reader's interest. Striking this equilibrium demands a refined writing style and the capacity to convey information succinctly. Lastly, capturing the reader's attention from the introduction and sustaining it throughout the essay requires a certain level of creativity and finesse. Generating interest in a topic as seemingly technical as classification calls for engaging examples, anecdotes, or compelling arguments to hold the reader's interest. Nutritional labelling information Key nutritional information is on front of pack labels of bottles and cans. In Europe, they have pioneered the use of Guideline Daily Amounts (GDAs) on front of pack labels since 2009. These show calorie, sugar, fat, saturated fat and salt content in absolute values and as a percentage of daily intake. These are reported per serving and as a proportion of a healthy diet, the most important piece of information needed to control weight. Additionally, no and low calorie beverages are clearly labelled on front of pack, so that consumers can identify them more easily. In 2012, they were one of 12 companies that signed up to the new EU Regulation on Food Information to Consumers, a voluntary framework for labeling of Guidelines Daily Amounts. Making packaging more sustainable While the content and origin of products are the basis, their packaging in a range of sizes and material types is also vital in meeting consumer needs. Packaging comprises an average of 22% of the cost of goods sold, a percentage they aim to reduce through minimizing raw materials used. They focus in particular on reducing the amount of
  • 3. Coir Industry Essay CHAPTER I 1.1Introduction To Coir Industry The Coir Industry has been significantly Export Oriented and a valuable foreign exchange earner. On an average about 20 per cent of the total Coir products manufactured are exported from the country, mainly to West European countries, United States of America (USA) and Canada. The products include fiber, yarn, mats, matting, rugs and carpets, rope and rubberized coir. Unfortunately, the exports in the recent past show a declining trend. Increased competition from other countries use of substitutes traditional methods of production delay in executing orders are some of the major reasons mentioned for reduced exports. Because of this, the manufacturers have started to pay more attention to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Structure Of Coir Fibre The individual fibre cells are narrow and hollow, with thick walls made of cellulose. They are pale when immature but later become hardened and yellowed as a layer of lignin, is deposited on their walls. Mature brown coir fibres contain more lignin and less cellulose than fibres such as flax and cotton and so are stronger but less flexible. They are made up of small threads, each less than 0.05 inch (1.3 mm) long and 10 to 20 micrometers in diameter. White fibre is smoother and finer, but also weaker. The coir fibre is relatively waterproof and is the only natural fibre resistant to damage by salt water. Green coconuts, harvested after about six to twelve months on the plant, contain pliable white fibres. Brown fibre is obtained by harvesting fully mature coconuts when the nutritious layer surrounding the seed is ready to be processed into copra and desiccated coconut. The fibrous layer of the fruit is then separated from the hard shell (manually) by driving the fruit down onto a spike to split it (De husking). Machines are now available which crush the whole fruit to give the loose fibres. Types Of Coir Fibre Brown Fibre The Fibrous husks are soaked in pits or in nets in a slow moving body of water to swell and soften the fibres. The long bristle fibres are separated from the shorter mattress fibres underneath the skin of the nut, a process known as
  • 4. Bird Flies Monologue A bird flies wildly about, twisting and diving. It is panicked, trying to escape the boy on the ground below, who hurls small, painful missiles at it from a slingshot. The creature of the air is a splendid sight; the wings are as if covered in jade paint and the tips dipped in a ferocious scarlet. The breast is a majestic solid blue, its throat a sulphur yellow. And the head and the tail both are a livid, dark purple: beautiful. Why shoot such a magnificent creature? This winged animal that soars like we long to, high above Earth and its human troubles. Jealousy. The boy cannot fly, he is not amazingly coloured with a rainbow of striking hues. No, he is bound to Earth, with his pale skin and drab, dirty clothing. He will shoot down this creature of the air because he can never be what it is, and he will take it home and brag about how he grounded something that soars high above, unobtainable.... They will praise him because he has brought this creature down from its high perch and brought its status down to what theirs is. Grey, Earth bound, humans, we want to be the greatest. Something is greater than us, and we kill it, for being beautiful and free. We want the beauty for ourselves, so we take it. We thieve what is not ours, what we can never possibly have. We take from nature, and we slaughter it into something unrecognizable, so that we may stand the tallest, the brightest so that we may rule the
  • 5. Pros And Cons Of School Uniforms Should students wear school uniforms? This is a topic that has been thoroughly argued, yet to no prevail on either side. I believe school uniforms overall impact children and the education community negatively. There are many strong reasons to turn down this policy. These include how the uniforms effect the children and their learning, the sneakiness behind school administrations who utilize this system, and how the children feel about the uniforms. First, is how the uniforms affect the children in a negative way. I know a family just a few houses up the street whose kids go to a Catholic school. Religion set aside, they have to wear uniforms to school. Often I see them getting out of the car, ripping off their bows and ties with a sort of disgust. My friend from that family, Aaron, states on the topic, They are uncomfortable, which actually distracts me more from learning and paying attention. This shows how school uniforms affect the learning environment negatively and impact children in a negative way. Everyone has heard the phrase, if you get hurt it s your own fault. But what if you never get the chance to be hurt? You ll never learn. It s the same way with something as simple as clothing. If children wear vulgar clothing to school then you can talk to them and tell them it s wrong. It is bad preparation for the real world if we are telling children what to do, rather than letting them learn to better prepare themselves for the real world. Next, is the sneakiness behind the administration and their altered statistics. Long beach California is a town that incorporates school uniforms into their schooling. The district claims the academic success and low violence rates are due to the school uniforms. They did leave out the other improvements in their districts including, promotion of conflict resolution, peer mediation, and parental involvement. The superintendent of this district made a comment to the Harvard Education Letter stating, It is really hard to know exactly what is causing the positive effect. This shows how districts are hiding other information to promote how well uniforms fix problems when in reality, it could be many things. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in Southern
  • 6. What Is The Central Theme Of Malgudia The central theme in most of Narayan s novels are the protagonists quest for identity but they are all of an average stature and incapable of bringing their quest to a fruition. Savithri in the Dark Room protests against the patriarchal rudeness of her husband and steps out of her house. She soon realises that her lack of proper education renders her fit only for a degenerate life, so she returns to her husband s house, where at least she can discharge her maternal duties to her children. With its street names and institutions like Vinayaka Mudali street, Ellaman street, Kabir Street, Abu Lane, Lawley Extension and Albert Mission College, Malgudi in its setting is the microcosm of the multicultural society that Indian towns were becoming during the previous century. From silent movies to talkies as sources of entertainment, a new film studio being established and new industries coming up, Malgudi has been growing from a country town to a city over the years. Gradual development from the British Raj to Independent India is marked by the early presence of companies and banks owned by English men to the many new avenues of employment opening out in later times. The consistent working on the same ambience provides validity to the novels. This is what D.H.Lawrence speaks of as the spirit of the place The world outside Malgudi is a suffocation for... • 8. Short Story about Falling into the Wrong Crowd of Friends... I never understood how difficult it would be to leave the only place I called home. I always thought I would live the rest of my life in Tennessee. One night at the dining room table I realized that all my hopes of growing up with my best friends and family were vanishing. It was a typical school night at my house in July. My mother had set five place settings, and placed the spaghetti and garlic bread in the middle of the table. My two brothers and I talked of what had happened at school that day. Then my father stood up. He is not a big man, sort of short and on the bald side, but something in his standing up made me take my attention off my spaghetti and focus on him. My fathers face seemed scrunched up, like he had... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... My two brothers were more excited about the topic of moving because they dont know how to take pride in what our town has. My dad pulled me aside from the dinner table and started talking to me about how my life will change, and how good it s going to be. All i could say was Dad please don t make me move . The next couple weeks of my life was terrible, it was all about sitting in my room packing up all my childhood memories. It took two moving trucks and my dad s brutally painted green van to empty our big brown house with the greenest grass in the town of Albaturkey, Tennessee. Driving through Albaturkey for the last time on the old, cracked side roads with the black oak tree s surrounding our van was a time that had impacted me for the rest of my life, just then I realised this was really it I m moving . We arrived when the skies were black, you could see the bright tiny stars from here much clearer and the moonlight made the ocean sparkle. Wake up! mom yelled, today is moving day! . Me and my two brothers dragged ourselves downstairs through this strange house that we now call home. We emptied the trucks and van and started to settle ourselves in. My room was much bigger here and had gigantic windows and one opened up to be a balcony. It took us a good month to finally get everything in place, we never even got a chance to check out our new city yet

  • 10. Antigone Vs Lysistrata The most important difference between the plays Antigone and Lysistrata are the underlying tones of each play. Antigone is quite serious and deals with darker subject matter involving birds and dogs devouring a human s body and flesh; while Lysistrata is more light hearted and geared towards husbands wanting to devour their wives in a different way. Imagine the mood of each play was reversed, Antigonewas more cheerful and happy while Lysistrata was morbid and dark, the story of each play would change drastically and would not have the same meaning. This difference between the plays tones is what categorizes them into a tragedyor comedy . Without these important aspects of the plays, their meaning and delivery would entirely change. Although... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are plenty of reasons for them being so different but the all encompassing reason would be the tone of each play which shapes the stories as a whole. Changing these tones and aspects of the play drastically alters its meanings and messages which, as aforementioned, is what makes each play a tragedy and a comedy. Almost every difference between these plays is a result of the differing atmospheres each play gives off. The purpose of each play is also different because of these tone; Antigone was to represent the struggle of Religion and Law along with destiny while Lysistrata served to show how unequal men and women were at the time but in a strangely odd and slightly sexist fashion. If you were to change the play s tone these messages would be lost or heavily altered. If Antigone lived on then it would become a story of triumph for the morally good and if Lysistrata failed it would show the devastating effects war can have on families in those countries. This raises an interesting point as would these stories have been better or worse by being putting made into a different genre with different
  • 11. Zero Tolerance In The Workplace Zero tolerance, a concept that first appeared in the early 1980s, helps to ensure that each individual who breaks a stated rule or law receives the same penalty. This prevents subjectivity in determining punishment for individuals (Johns,2009). Zero tolerance policies in the workplace typically leaves very little discretion for an employer, which result in termination for a first infraction. Zero tolerance policies provide for automatic punishment for violating a company rule (Johns,2009). Our goal is to visit all of the countries in the world and learn about the many different cultures for ourselves. We are all humans at the end of the day and we are all similar in more ways than we realize. The reason is that we just don t want to remain complacent in a comfortable bubble, due to the fear of the unknown or false information. Therefore, our next destination would be to Africa, particularly South Africa. The Battle of Pozieres was the 28th Battalion s first significant fight in WWI as they had taken part in two attacks. Hefty wire entanglements which was left undestroyed and persistent retaliatory bombardments from the Germans on the 7th Brigade resulted in a failed attempt on the 29th July, 1916. After failing to capture the Pozieres Ridge, a second attack was launched on the 4th August and success emerged as the 28th Battalion was able to secure Pozieres Ridge. After almost two weeks of consistent battling, the 2nd Division consisting of the 28th Battalion and many others were relieved by the 4th Division on the 6th and was transferred to less active section of the Belgium Front. Advice to First Writing Course at the University of Central Florida Writing courses can be challenging and that is why I decided to write this personal narrative. I believe that a personal narrative is better for an advice column than a research paper. A personal narrative would give more personal experience and insight on how the course was. It would be more valid since it is true. I think people learn better when they read and hear something from the person they are talking to rather than being about other people, especially when it comes to advice. These are actually types of essays I had to write during this course. When writing these types of essays, one has to keep in mind their audiences and their own experience. Lastly, students will consider how social, rhetorical, and technological contexts shape writing because it reflects sensitivity to school writing as a social affair (McCarthy 231). There are some constraints that I had to think about when deciding the genre of this paper. One constraint to this personal narrative is the time I took this course. I took ENC 1101 during the Summer B section. Summer B was only six weeks long and I had to learn the concepts of this course in that amount of time when it usually takes around sixteen weeks. This made the course much harder for me and other students. Especially because English is my second language, it takes me longer to read and analyze articles. This was also one out of two of my first classes as a college students. It is a different environment and I had to adapt to different situations and expectations. Another constraint is about those students that already have credit for ENC

This year white actor Joseph Fiennes was reportedly chosen to cast as the role of the superstar Michael Jackson in a British movie about a road trip Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando took after the incident of 9/11. Without getting the opinions of people on who they think should play the iconic popstar, they chose a white man. Joseph Fiennes, a white British man, was given the role of Michael Jackson in the upcoming British film Elizabeth, Michael, Marlon . Many people, particularly African Americans, were outraged with this decision, especially since this was the second year in a row that all the Academy Award nominees were white. This expansion was aided by perestroika s opening up of market opportunities. In Leningrad, as much as 90% of the cooperatives produced by the liberal policies of perestroika were deeply involved with organized crime (Anderson, 1995, 352). The extensiveness of organized crime in the USSR is quite apparent when one examines such numbers, but the more important question is what was inherent in the USSR that facilitated such crime and how this later affected organized crime in the Russian Federation. Two characteristics of the USSR were integral in the development of a powerful organized crime syndicate. These were an excessive bureaucratic power and the presence of illegal markets (Anderson, 1995, 347). This excessive bureaucratic power facilitated organized crime by providing a basis for corruption, bribery, shakedowns, and extortion (Anderson, 1995, 346). These were no small problems either. According to the All Union Research Institute of the Soviet Interior Ministry in 1991, about half of the income of the average government employee consisted of bribes (Sterling, 1994, 93). However, the presence of illegal markets was even more essential to the existence of a mafia in the USSR. Everyone is aware that illegal markets such as alcohol during the prohibition period or drugs today elicit organized crime, yet this association was unique in the USSR. Many don t find out they have the condition until it is brought up later in life and so many others go undiagnosed. This is due to the fact that if someone perceives something the same way from birth to death, it is hard to believe that everyone else doesn t see or feel the same thing. And because the definition of synesthesia is changing and more and more types are being discovered, it can be hard to keep track of which one a person may own. People with more rare types of synesthesia are more likely to be dismissed due to lack of education on doctors about the condition, whereas a person with grapheme color synesthesia is much easier to diagnose since it is one of the more common forms of synesthesia. In stanza two, she says that tripping by in high heeled, ribboned shoes / (there is) not a softness anywhere about (her) (lines 16 and 17) when she s wearing only whalebone and brocade (line 18.) The term whalebone refers to a whalebone corset, which is a very hard material that is restrictive to movement. In the next stanza, she says that underneath (her) stiffened gown/ Is the softness of a woman (lines 32 and 33.) This develops the idea that the way she dresses is a deceiving appearance, because she is not as stiff and stable on the inside as she comes across on the outside. Deep down she is soft and sad, in mourning of the loss of her lover, yet she cannot express these emotions due to the expectations and restrictions of women during the Victorian era.

Thus, throughout the history of Israel, the three kings Saul, David, and Solomon where all chosen by God, and each of them had contributed to the development of the nation. Before the time of the three kings, those who reign over Israel were the Judges. However, the beginning of 1 Samuel unfolded the fading of their era (New International Version). By the time the leadership lay in the hands of Eli and his ungodly sons, God had stopped speaking to them and gave His guidance to Samuel (Hinson and Yates 163). Thus, I would like to say that though bitcoin has a lot of advantages, it has some definite weaknesses to be a substitute for currencies. Firstly, there have been lots of different form of virtual currencies so far. And they all got shrunk. If someone is a good programmer, anybody can make a new digital currency. If so, the advantage of bitcoin which is that there is a limit for issuing amount will disappear. Moreover, existing currencies are based upon each nation s control. Currency economies cannot exist outside of taxation systems. As most all of the nations are operated by tax, governments will not permit the free trade of electronic currency which is operated outside of taxation system. Actually, the China Central Bank announced that as the bitcoin is not a genuine currency, it cannot have a legal status. They also said that any financial institution or company cannot put a price of bitcoin and guarantee products that related to bitcoin. South Korea government also stated that the bitcoin is a product which cannot be protected by Korean laws. Because the bitcoin has a possibility to be abused in many ways. However, it has many limits to be a substitute for real currencies. Economy cannot be detached
  • 35. Language Does Not Empower Women Additionally, the ineffectiveness of Perdita s rhetoric furthers Shakespeare s claim that language does not empower women in the lower class shepherd s court. For example, during Perdita and Polixenes discussion of flowers, Perdita s language is unable to persuade Polixenes to agree with her opinions. Perdita states that she [cares] not/ To get slips of carnations and gillyvors because they are nature s bastards and are not natural. She continues by asserting that There is an art which in their piedness shares/ With great creating nature, explaining her beliefthat because the flowers are made through crossbreeding, they are unnatural and therefore their beauty is artificial since it is owed equally to nature and the gardener that bred them (IV.4.82 89). However, Polixenes is unconvinced by this claim and instead states that although nature is made better by no mean, all means of attempting to improve nature must themselves be natural. Therefore, Polixenes believes, the apparently artificial quality of crossbred flowers is an art/ That nature makes and thus art itself is nature (IV.4.89 97). Perdita has no response to Polixenes view and yields to his argument. This conversation demonstrates that Perdita s rhetoricin the court of the shepherd is largely unsuccessful and does not empower her or further her opinions in the same manner as the language of Paulina and Hermione does. Overall, Shakespeare conveys his claim that Perdita s powerand influence in the

How does violence started to play a decisive role in the mass media? When the television was first invented and released for consumer use at the 50s, television was still a small, plastic box, with black and white ghost like figures on a snowy screen that has coarse audio quality. This epochal invention started a whole new market, a whole new generation. Some of these films did very well at the box office but most of them didn t, largely due to the loss of originality and the ability to surprise and shock, which stands at the basis of every successful horror film. The next step for the challenged horror industry was the process of transnationalization searching for inspiration outside familiar borders, more specifically turning to East Asia. The initial phase of J horror s rising popularity in the United States, for example, was largely driven by a search, on the part of hardcore fans, for more exotic and extreme forms of horror film. The Conquest of the Desert occurred in Argentina in Patagonia from 1789 to 1790 with the aim to establish dominance over Indigenous groups in the area, as well as to convert the Indigenous populations. Throughout this time, thousands of Indigenous peoples were killed and displaced by the Argentine settlers, (Bustos Videla, 1964). The Conquest of the Desert is a clear example of colonialism, which is the process in which a group of settlers establish a settlement in another country, which affects those who were Indigenous to the land, (Morgan, The Legacy of Colonialism, 2017). Known as the Garden, the name given to the location and individuals that joined Epicurus in contemplation away from society, was the birthplace of Epicureanism (the school of thought that valued friendship, pleasure, and modest living). Epicurus is thought to have written dozens of books, but only a few pieces remain. One of those pieces was a letter to Menoeceus. The letter is a version from Introductory Readings in Ancient Greek and Roman Philosophy by C.D.C. Reeve and Patrick Lee Miller. Through the letter Epicurus advices on topics such as age and the pursuit of philosophy, the irrational fear of death, the effects of pleasure and pain among other things. This essay will focus on the second of the aforementioned topics. Epicurus argues that human beings have an irrational fear of death since, death is nothing to us. In the passage of concern (page 366) starting at seventh sentence of the second paragraph, Epicurus writes, So, death the most frightening of bad things, is nothing to us; since when we exist, death is not yet present, and when death is present, then we do not exist. Therefore, it is relevant neither to the living nor to the dead, since it does not affect the former, and the

(Potter, 58) This quote resonated with me because no three words have ever spoken more truth. Coming from a musical, Catholic background, I have always been told that singing is praying twice. Music truly is a gift from God because God gave us the ability to hear. So, the question comes up, what does God want us to hear? I think that God ultimately wants us to hear his voice and know his will. Potter throws in an interesting quote by Jackson, Music goes back before language does. And music is like the key to a whole spiritual existence which this society doesn t even talk about. We know it s there. (Potter, 58) This quote reminds me of lyrics to one of my favorite songs of all time. Stevie Wonder wrote, Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand. (Sir Duke) Also, Wonder wrote, Music knows it is and always will be one of the things that life just won t quit. (Sir Duke) Relating these lyrics to the quote, it makes me realize that the lyrics are not what make up the song. The music being played, however, is what makes music important. Music truly is a universal language. Throughout the world, different cultures speak different languages. They write differently and speak differently. However, pick up a piece of sheet music in any location of the world, and it will always be the same. There will be a staff with notes, clefs, measures, and a time signature. Music is a language within itself. It is not taught by being spoken, rather it is taught by being played. So, music connects the world into a community. Music creates a universal bond that is unlike any other. This bond is spiritual on a different level. Music is timeless because no matter what year, someone will always be able to play the music. This spiritual bond connects us throughout the world. I think that ultimately, through sound, God is connecting us to be one.
