Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. 4. Learning Modality
•As per the instruction given by the Schools Division
Office, Modular Learning Modality is no longer an option.
•All students will participate in the Blended Learning
Modality/Face-to-Face Classes.
6. Vaccinated and unvaccinated students are allowed to enter the school.
Students should not exhibit any symptom related to Covid19.
Maximum health protocols shall be always observed.
a. Wearing of face mask.
b. Observing physical distancing.
c. Sanitizing of hands.
If a student who is still at home and will declare that he/she is not feeling
well, parents must inform the BHW and let the Barangay Health Worker
check his/her condition and ask a certification from the BHW to support
his/her absence.
7. Only classroom educational instructions activities are allowed
within the school (practices, holding of meetings, charging, and
using of cellphones unnecessarily shall not be allowed).
Students must prepare their health pack (alcohol, face masks,
sanitary wipes).
Kindly bring jacket or umbrella for your protection.
Expect that there will be visitors coming in school for
benchmarking.
8. Entering the School
Properly wear your face mask. Fall in line safely. The barangay
tanods and guards will facilitate in the entrance.
Check the site map. (Check your room assignment from the posted
Directory/Advisory/Vicinity Map at the school’s Entrance as well as
being shared in the Social Media for easy, fast, and accurate
identification of targeted room assignment or as instructed by your
adviser.)
Wash your hands very well with soap at the school’s entrance’
Wash Nooks.
9. Have your temperature checked.
Sanitize your hands.
Maintain physical distancing.
Fill-out and submit the Health Declaration Form. (Use your
own ballpen.)
Proceed to your assigned classroom directly.
10. Within the School/Classroom
Check the class list and look for your name.
Get inside the classroom.
Participate in class while staying seated.
Bring your own school materials, alcohol, snacks, lunch, and
water bottle.
Do not roam around nor loiter inside and outside your assigned
classroom.
Avoid talking with your classmates.
11. Always stay seated except when going to the comfort room.
Ask permission from your class adviser or subject teacher and write
your name using your own ball pen in the ‘Log Book’ before going out
from the classroom.
In using the comfort room, always observe physical distancing and
cleanliness. Wash your hands at the Wash Nook Area thoroughly before
going back to your assigned classroom.
12. Exiting the School
Get out from the room one by one, observing physical
distancing.
Proceed directly to the assigned exit area.
Go home safely right away.
13. Uniform
School uniform is not required. However, students are highly
encouraged to wear the school uniform.
Students should wear decent and appropriate clothes.
Upper – white shirt/blouse
Lower – pants/skirt
Wear shoes/sandals.
14. No wearing of tattered pants, shorts, short skirts, sleeveless, crop
tops, and slippers.
Physical Appearance:
For Males:
*Earrings are not allowed.
*Always have proper haircut.
For Females:
Only one pair of earrings should be worn.
15. Class Program
The students are divided into different sections. Always remember
your Class Section, Assigned Room, and Class Schedule.
(To the teacher assigned, please inform the students about their Class
Program. Read the class program and inform them about their day
and time schedule.)
For the schedule of classes this First Quarter, classes will be
Wednesday to Friday at 12:00-6:00 pm. Students should already be
in school earlier than 12:00 noon.
