City planners are responsible for land use planning and infrastructure development to optimize community effectiveness. They balance demands of housing, development, transportation, environment and more. Planners study population trends, conduct investigations and prepare reports on land use and infrastructure needs. They develop plans, meet with stakeholders, and modify plans based on feedback to create livable, sustainable communities.
