ASSURE Method: Thursday
Analyze Learners: Students will be in 10
th
grade, and there will be 11 females and 9 males. This
course is an Honors Biology class. There are 14 Caucasian students, 4 African American
students, and 2 Hispanic students in this class. Due to the fact this is an optional honors course;
no students require modifications or special accommodations.
State Objectives: Students will be able to relate main points of fossil record evidence,
speciation, and adaptability of animals in regards to evolution by the end of the day with 90%
accuracy by completing a WebQuest on Zumal.com and completing a Twitter assignment.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials: The students will come in and sit quietly. I will begin
the class by reviewing what we have done over the previous days verbally. I will then introduce
the concept of the fossil record, speciation, and animal adaptability through the use of a
WebQuest. This WebQuest involves students going on an adventure and looking at mating of
animals as well as the fossil record evidence for evolution. The class period will end with a
Twitter assignment where students are for homework to locate two different modern day
scientists who are involved in evolution and write a paragraph about their work.
Utilize Materials and Methods: I will test and make sure every piece of equipment that I am
using works properly. I will scaffold students throughout their assignments and I will ask them
oral question. I want the students to think critically and enjoy what they are doing. I will monitor
the students closely.
Require Learner Participation: Students are required to complete the WebQuest that I have
created for them. Students must also actively participate in the Twitter homework assignment.
Throughout the class students must be ready to answer any oral question that I ask them as well.
Evaluation and Revision: I will evaluate my students on the WebQuest and Twitter assignment.
The WebQuest is worth 12 points and the Twitter assignment is worth 10 points. The students
will also get their daily participation grade of one point if they actively participate. I would
lecture if none of the equipment works.

Ci 350 assure method thursday

  • 1. ASSURE Method: Thursday Analyze Learners: Students will be in 10 th grade, and there will be 11 females and 9 males. This course is an Honors Biology class. There are 14 Caucasian students, 4 African American students, and 2 Hispanic students in this class. Due to the fact this is an optional honors course; no students require modifications or special accommodations. State Objectives: Students will be able to relate main points of fossil record evidence, speciation, and adaptability of animals in regards to evolution by the end of the day with 90% accuracy by completing a WebQuest on Zumal.com and completing a Twitter assignment. Select Methods, Media, and Materials: The students will come in and sit quietly. I will begin the class by reviewing what we have done over the previous days verbally. I will then introduce the concept of the fossil record, speciation, and animal adaptability through the use of a WebQuest. This WebQuest involves students going on an adventure and looking at mating of animals as well as the fossil record evidence for evolution. The class period will end with a Twitter assignment where students are for homework to locate two different modern day scientists who are involved in evolution and write a paragraph about their work. Utilize Materials and Methods: I will test and make sure every piece of equipment that I am using works properly. I will scaffold students throughout their assignments and I will ask them oral question. I want the students to think critically and enjoy what they are doing. I will monitor the students closely.
  • 2. Require Learner Participation: Students are required to complete the WebQuest that I have created for them. Students must also actively participate in the Twitter homework assignment. Throughout the class students must be ready to answer any oral question that I ask them as well. Evaluation and Revision: I will evaluate my students on the WebQuest and Twitter assignment. The WebQuest is worth 12 points and the Twitter assignment is worth 10 points. The students will also get their daily participation grade of one point if they actively participate. I would lecture if none of the equipment works.
