• Description- This WebQuest will get students interested
in learning about the animals in the rainforest. The
students will choose an animal from a list of animals
provided on this WebQuest and become an expert on
that animal.
• Grade level- 3-5
• Curriculum- Science
• Keywords- rainforest, animals, macaw, sloth, spider
monkey, and poisonness frog.
• The rainforest animals are in trouble. They need you
guys to observe them hands-on so that you can save
them. Most people are not familiar enough to help them.
You guys have to save them. As soon as you learn about
them, spread the word to the community. Students will
work in groups of four and observe the animals very
closely. We need to know the animals, habitat, diet, and
life span. It is up to you guys to save the animals in the
rainforest.
• The community close to the rainforest are letting selected
people to come observe the animals in the rainforest.
• Choose one of the animals that is provided on slide 5 to
become an expert on. Even though you are in groups,
you need to select an animal individually to observe.
• After choosing your animal, look up the animals habitat,
diet, life span, and if the animal is dangerous.

• Step 1: The teacher will split the classroom into groups of four.
• Step 2: You must pick an animal, but no one in your group can have the same
animal. If there is a problem with choosing an animal, then the teacher will
assign you an animal.
• Step 3: You will research your animal on teacher approved websites. The
websites will be on slide 6. the teacher will also provide YouTube videos on each
animal so you can watch them as well.
• You will research the following
• -Does it live alone or in a group?
• -What does it eat?
• -Is it dangerous or not?
• -Does it sleep during the day or night?
• -How long does this animal typically live?
• -Where does it live in the rainforest?
• Step 4: Make a power point with your group. Each animal should have its own
slide. Put one picture on it and all the information you have collected.
• Step 5: After you do your slide on power point, you, the expert will present it to
the teacher.
