4. Focus your listening... Listen for main points Listen for evidence (proof, support, examples) Listen for technique (how does the speaker get your attention? Relate to the audience? Gain trust? Organize? Use language? Use eye contact, gestures or visual aids?)
5. Listening Activity: While listening to the following speech, take notes with a focus on either main points, evidence or technique. You may work alone or in groups of 2-4 people. After 5-10 minutes to organize your response, we will share our observations.
