11. North Lincoln had different reasons of issuing the Emancipation Proclamation in both the North and the South. In the North, he wanted to get more people involved in the war. By issuing the Emancipation Proclamation he believed that the Northern population would become more supportive of the war efforts. He believed that by issuing the Proclamation he was creating a point of reason for the war and an incentive to win the war!
