There are three main types of music videos: performance based videos which simply show the artist performing the song, narrative based videos which tell a story that relates to the lyrics, and concept based videos which portray a concept or topic related to the song through visuals rather than following a narrative or matching the lyrics. Examples provided are Beyonce's "Listen" as a performance video, Bruno Mars' "Grenade" as a narrative video about carrying a piano to impress a girlfriend, and Black Eyed Peas' "Where Is The Love" as a concept video.

2. Performance Based Videos
 This is when the artist perform their song in a studio or a concert. It
does not even have to be the artist singing.
 An example of a performance based video is Listen By Beyonce. This is
an amazing an powerful song performed by Beyonce in the studio.
 In the song, I can hear drums, voice, repeat and piano.

3. Narrative Based Videos
 Narrative based music videos follows a storyline throughout the whole song. It
reflects to the lyrics of the song. The protagonist is usually the singer or an actor.
 An example of narrative based video is ‘Grenade’ by ‘Bruno Mars’.
 The video storyline focus on Bruno Mars dragging a piano around Los Angeles in
order to play a song for his girlfriend. By him carrying the heavy piano symbolises
his relationship as a heavy burden. Throughout the video, people were questioning
and laughing at him asking him why he was carrying the piano.

4. Concept Based
 A concept based music video is a music video which has no structured narrative
and the lyrics do not match what is happening in the music video at all.
 In concept based, the artist tries to portray in the music video that relates to the
lyrics of the song.
 An example of a concept based video is Where is the love by Black Eyed Peas.
 This is because in the song, they talk about a topic.
 A concept based music video create an unusual and memorable video, which
promotes the song and the artist as well.
