Tim Leberecht@NEXT09: The Seven Rules of the Chief Meaning Officerfrog
"The job of leadership today is not just to make money. It's to make meaning," writes management consultant John Hagel.
This talk argues that the fundamental crisis of capitalism presents a historic opportunity for brands to transform themselves into arbiters of meaning. Becoming Chief Meaning Officers, CMOs and other marketing leaders must move beyond simply connecting products and customers with the goal to facilitate transactions – they must now create "meaning" through actions and interactions. A "meaning surplus" will become imperative: Only brands that give more than they take will be able to create sustained brand loyalty.
Your Social Customer's Conversation is Driving Your BusinessCollective Intellect
Collective Intellect uses semantic analysis to process, in real-time, large volumes of social media conversations. The resulting intelligence provides insights into the social customer: what they're buying, viewing, having problems with, including demographic or life stage data.
At the recent IBM Smarter Commerce Conference, Brian Fetherstonhaugh, Chairman & CEO of OgilvyOne Worldwide, talked about how smart marketers are not only appreciating the full value of customers, but also learning how to drive it. Brian shared experiences on how the emerging fields of Social CRM and Social Commerce can help companies unlock the full value of customers.
Most marketers vastly underestimate the full value that customers bring to their business, and as a result under-invest in their customer relationships. In the digitally empowered world, your customers can be worth far more than it appears on the surface.
Look beyond an individual transaction to deliver an experience that maximizes the entire Lifetime Value of a customer relationship. As customers evangelize your brand, their influence creates an advocacy effect that magnifies the value they create for your business. And as the relationship deepens, you can engage them as co-creators of new products and services to create a mutual value exchange through the collaboration effect.

Having been a data planner for some 15 years, it’s heartening to see it’s not just data planners who are getting excited about data; how much there is, how secure it is, but moreover, how valuable it is.
This is a presentation that I did for the lead referral group at the Greater Derry & Londonderry Chamber of Commerce. It discusses how small businesses should be considering the Marketing Funnel in their online marketing efforts, and strategies that they can use to better lead customers and prospects to the ultimate goal in the funnel: Advocacy.
Online in de toekomst; wat kan ik nú doen?Tom Verhoeve
Hoe gaat online zich ontwikkelen? Vier punten waar je nu al rekening mee kan houden:
1. van mobiel naar multi-screen;
2. digitaal en fysiek versmelten;
3. contentstrategie aanpassen op meerdere contentvormen dan tekst en meerdere publicatiekanalen (zie 1);
4. kijk opnieuw naar je toegevoegde waarde: waarmee maak je als organisatie nu echt het verschil?

Internet of Everything Collaboration IndexCisco Services
In the Internet of Everything (IoE) economy, there will be leaders and laggards, winners and losers. And collaboration, video, and mobility technologies will play a crucial role in determining who captures their share of the value at stake, which Cisco projects as a staggering $14.4 trillion. That’s a 21 percent increase in corporate profits over the next ten years. But how can organizations assess where they stand, before determining their strategies for realizing that value? Cisco Consulting Service’s IoE Collaboration Index is a tool that can help. Find out more: http://www.cisco.com/go/ioecollab

To determine whether BYOD is simply a U.S. — or even just a “U.S. enterprise” — phenomenon, the Cisco® Internet Business Solutions Group (IBSG) expanded its original “BYOD and Virtualization” study to include IT decision makers in both enterprises (1,000 or more employees) and midsize companies (500-999 employees) in eight countries across three regions. Cisco IBSG's results show that BYOD’s growth isn’t limited to the United States or to large companies.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
