Initial Search For Cast
Members
To begin our search for our main character in the
music video we used our course tutor to get in contact
with the performing arts coordinator at our college. We
felt this was the best place to start looking for our main
character because the student would also benefit from
the experience of participating in our music video. After
this we received a time and date to chose our main
character.
Choosing Our Main Character
In the audition we described to the actors the plot of our music video and
explained what it would involve them doing. We also told them the date
we would be filming on and the times that we would need them at. We
then chose an actor that we felt as a group was most suited to being in
our music video. After choosing the actor, we got his contact details and
confirmed the dates that we would be filming on. We also set up a group
chat on Facebook which would allow us to communicate easily as a
group. By getting his contact details, this also meant that we could fill in
his details on the shooting schedule.
Choosing the band
When scouting for our band members we struggled at first to find people who
would be suitable for the role. First we went through our media teacher who
emailed the music department for people who would be willing to play guitar
in our music video. However after getting no result through this way of
scouting band members we resorted to asking the people we knew. We
asked the other people in our media class and found people through friends
of friends. This therefore allowed us to film the sections of our music video
that were in the studio. We used Facebook messenger to keep in contact with
the band members and notify them of the date and time that we would need
them to film the music video. We also had to book the studio through the
online booking website. To make a decision on a date that we could film on,
we all looked at our diaries and chose a date that would be suitable for us.
We then went and asked the band members whether they could also do this
date and time.
