The document discusses casting plans for a music video. It considers potential cast members for roles of dancers, musicians, and a mad scientist character. Several teachers and students are identified as candidates for these roles. Emails will be sent to ask the potential cast if they are available and to schedule auditions. Finding musicians is noted as particularly challenging due to limitations of students who play certain instruments at school.

DB POST- RESPOND TO WHAT THIS PERSON HAD TO SAY ABOUT THE DB ASSIGNMENT (STUDENT 1) (100 WORDS)
I was very shy as a young child and socially immature. I had no fear of speaking or performing but I also had no outlet for it. The elementary school I attended did not put on plays or concerts so even though I wanted to be an actress I never had the chance. When I went to junior high my whole world opened up. I joined chorus and even though I didn't have the best voice I loved preforming. In 7th grade we put on a musical "Cinderella" and I tried out for the lead. I did not get it but my best friend did so I swallowed my disappointment and decided to be the best dirty laundry ever to be on stage. I got to sing a duet and dance. I also got a small role as the girl with Cinderella when she meets prince charming. I felt very special to have 2 roles and the best part was the boy I had a crush on was dirty laundry also. (Prince charming was a total loser!!) The play was a hit and we were invited to perform for our local Rotary club the next week. Off stage I was still very shy and a wall flower but on stage I could be anything I wanted. I did other plays and concerts over the years but the success of this one has always stayed with me. This one play changed me in a lot of ways. It opened up the dramatic world to me and taught me how to react to disappointments. I was able to make the best out of the situation and enjoy the roles I got. I often think about this experience and still 27 years later catch myself singing the songs from the musical.
Creative dramatics (Isbell & Raines,2013) uses both mental and physical skills and envolves the whole child. For me it was the outlet I was looking for but for other children it may seem overwhelming. I plan to use my experiences to guide my classroom through the different stages of drama from pantomime, puppet shows and story telling. I will be able to recognize the differences in the children and know that Johnny wants the lead but Alice would rather be a tree. Both roles are important to the success of our performance and Alice can be the best tree ever while Johnny can enhance his vocabulary be learning the lines. Every child can benefit from drama as long as the teacher is supportive and understands how important creative drama can be.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
Unit 8 - Information and Communication Technology (Paper I).pdfThiyagu K
This slides describes the basic concepts of ICT, basics of Email, Emerging Technology and Digital Initiatives in Education. This presentations aligns with the UGC Paper I syllabus.
2. We have been thinking about
who we want to cast in our
music video. After lots of
thought and consideration we
have decided to go with girls
for the dancers as there are a
lot more to choose from at
school and we think that this
will look better.
We have been coming up with
a list of characters/people that
we need and have culminated a
list of potential people.
3. Mad Scientist – needs to be able to lip sync – adult male
(teacher) – quirky vibe and lots of energy
Mike Niland, James Hartman and Andy Johnson
We have chosen these teachers as we think that they fit the
kind of look that we want to create for this character as well as
the fact that we think that they would be able to do the job well
and lip sync effectively. We think that these people have a good
energy about them and we think that the audience would be
able to connect with and enjoy their performance.
4. HERE IS THE EMAIL I HAVE SENT TO
THESE PEOPLE ASKING IF THEY ARE
AVAILABLE TO AUDITION FOR THE
MUSIC VIDEO.
5. DANCERS
We need to cast 3 female dancers who are able to do a 1920’s
routine which would include flapper/charlston style dancing and
they also need to be able to dance in a hip-hop/futuristic style
which needs to be funky and cool. Ideally we would like the
dancers to have a similar look in terms of height and hair colour,
however the main objective is to pick the best dancers who are
able to dance well in both of these styles.
6. DANCERS
We are considering both A1 and A2 student
dancers and we are looking at dancers who are
in the school dance company as well as dancers
who attend the weekly classes as these will
inevitably be the most advanced dancers at
school.
7. DANCERS
We are thinking of Maddy Bowyer, Sally Waine and
Megan MacKay who are A2 dance students and they are
every advanced technically but they also have good facial
expression and are good performers and so would be able
to attract and engage an audience.
In terms of A1 student dancers we are considering
Oriana Pooles, Nandi Clarke, Elise Bugeja, Eden
Bowyer, Daisy Jelley, Cressida Taper, Emily Bryne,
Honor Collins and Olivia Hartley as these girls are very
talented dancers and performers again and we think
that they would be able to dance to both of these styles
and we also think that they would be able to dance well
with the A2 students if they need to.
8. HERE IS THE EMAIL I SENT TO THEM
ASKING THEM IF THEY WERE
AVAILABLE TO COME AND AUDITION TO
BE IN THE VIDEO:
9. EMAIL BACK FROM DANCERS
I have had some replies to the email from people
saying that they are interested and would like to
take part. So we need to think of an audition
time hen we can see their potential.
Unfortunately, some of the other dancers have
responded to me and said that they are unable to
take part and be in the video for various reasons.
10. MUSICIANS
This is going to be the most difficult thing to cast as we are so
limited with our choices as there are only a few people or in some
cases only 1 person at school who can play these instruments.
We need people who can actually play the instruments as this is
going to make the band look for effective and realistic. However, this
does mean that we cannot choose a certain look or style for the jazz
bad as in some cases we just have to go with the one person at school
who can play the required instrument.
11. MUSICIANS
We are going to ask Emily Hart if she will play the clarinet in the
video as she is the only student who plays this instrument ad she
is very advanced.
We are going to ask Izzy Pelling is she will play the violin in our
music video as she is again the only student who plays this
instrument and she is very talented.
Unfortunately, both of these students have said that they won’t be
able to participate for different reasons and so we need to re-think
who is going to be available for these roles.
12. MUSICIANS
After getting some feedback from Luke we decided that it
was going to be very difficult to get hold of these musicians.
Luke suggested that we use his friend for the double bass
player and that we use Evelyn who is in our group as she is
a very talented violinist. We are going to ask one of the
students who plays the Clarinet whether they would be
interested in taking part and then hopefully we will have
our jazz band finalised.
13. HERE IS THE EMAIL I SENT TO DAVE
PARSONS WHO IS HEAD OF MUSIC TO
ASK HIM ABOUT STUDENTS WHO PLAY
THE DRUMS AND PIANO.
14. HERE IS THE EMAIL I SENT TO THE
MUSICIANS ASKING IF THEY WOULD
LIKE TO BE IN THE MUSIC VIDEO
15. CASTING
I think that we have chosen some very strong
candidates to be in our music video and hopefully
when we audition them we see a lot of potential
and we find a very good cast.
The next stage is auditioning them and seeing
what they are able to do and then from this
audition process we will be able to select our cast.
