CASTING
Kirsty Hamilton-Emery
MusicVideo Re-Cap
My music video is toThe Cure’s song ‘Boys Don’t Cry’.
Set in the 80s and with a theme of relationships and
love.
Acting Roles:
- Lead
- Extras
- Girl in window
The lead role: male, aged 18-21, flexible, trustworthy, and
confident in front of the camera. He must have access to
vintage clothing, or clothing which can pass as 80s style.
Ideally, they need to have longish hair that can be styled.
Extras: I need a minimum of 2 extras – also male and within
the same age range, and clothing specs.
The girl in the window: female, aged 18-21.Very minor role
with very small screen time so appearance isn’t hugely
important and clothes won’t be visible.
Contestant #1
Name: Nathan Ellis
DOB: 25/10/97
Notes:
• Looks the part
• He isn’t comfortable in front of the
camera when on his own
• Lives about 15 miles away, but does
drive which is convenient
Contestant #2
Name: JordanWiseman
DOB: 03/03/98
Notes:
• Very comfortable in front of the
camera and enjoys being in the
spotlight
• Lives in the location of filming
• Not very flexible as works full time –
irregular shifts sometimes being on
weekends.
Contestant #3
Name: Deane Grey
DOB: 20/05/98
Notes:
• Extremely trustworthy
• Looks the part
• Uncomfortable in front of the
camera, and seems to be tired all the
time
The Lead Role Conclusion:
Contestant #2 is the chosen one. While he isn’t always available, that’s not
completely an issue as I won’t be filming everyday, and when we do film I’ll try and
condense it into sections to be as convenient as possible.
What’s most important is that he’s comfortable in front of the camera. This is
something that I wouldn’t be able to work with otherwise because it would take too
long to try and get a shot right with someone trying to hide in the shadows. My
music video is mainly being marked on the construction of it, but the acting is also
key so I’ll take the best option I can.
