1) An 80-year-old male patient presented with a 2-month history of fever and was diagnosed with Enterococcus faecalis native valve endocarditis. 2) Transesophageal echocardiogram revealed a large vegetation on the posterior tricuspid leaflet. Blood cultures grew E. faecalis. 3) The patient was treated with a double beta-lactam regimen of ampicillin and ceftriaxone for 4 weeks along with anticoagulants and monitoring. Symptoms improved and the patient was discharged in a stable condition.
