Since 2013, the world has been shocked and suffered from many horrific chaos, military attacks,

Firstly, they are wrong in their activities which is contrary from the teaching in Koran. In an

What Are The Pros And Cons Of Outsourcing Digital Marketing
The Pros and Cons of Outsourcing Your Website s Digital Marketing
There is no doubt that the option to outsource digital marketing activities for your company
website is appealing. Outsourcing is at most times convenient and blows less of a hole in your
budget than hiring a full fledged in house team. You may securely leave your company s marketing
to a specialized target= _blank Digital Marketing Agency or, better still, utilize the services of a
skilled (and affordable) freelancer, while you concentrate your entire focus on the areas of your
business that need your undivided attention.
Not all companies can afford to hire digital specialists, who belong to a new breed of journeymen
of all trades in online marketing having skills in SEO, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But keep in mind the advantages that an agency can bring to you a team of freelancers with
various skills and their own selection process may beat the extra cost.
Do not forget that even with freelancers and outsourced agencies you get what you pay for. If
you pay for cheap SEO, you may end up with poor quality links and content that could get you in
Google s black books. If a candidate promises 50,000 Instagram friends for $100, these are likely
to be fake friends. A $5 an hour website marketer is equally suspect if such people do not value
their own time, how can you expect them to value the work they deliver? 3.Flexibility:
Outsourcing lets you hire only when you need work done, especially if the projects do not have
mission critical deadlines. Freelancers are often more flexible than employees on your payroll,
working 9 to 5. There are cases when you may want to hire a freelancer despite having a small in
house team, to handle all the extra work that your in house team cannot manage. In such cases, you
can achieve a fine balance of productivity between projects on deadline and more flexible

Spotify vs. Pandora
In the 21st century a battle over how music is delivered has begun. No longer is terrestrial radio
the only way in which listeners can discover new music, revisit nostalgic favorites and connect
with their respective age groups. Online digital radio outlets have become obvious replacements
for men and women between the ages of 18 34. In this day and age individuals have a surplus of
options when it comes to accessing music. However, many have moved away from physical
products and the technologies/outlets of times past. There are two prominent companies waging
this war: Spotify and Pandora. Competition between the two programs seemed inevitable. And now,
Spotify has announced a new radio station option, in effect, co opting Pandora s... Show more

With Spotify penning licensing deals with these three majors, Spotify has an upper hand on
Pandora. Spotify recently launched twelve new apps backed by the major labels. Pandora lacks
such deals, as do many other services. Because of this, Pandora pays a hefty sum in royalties a
significant strike against its business model пїЅ. Due to the absence of deals with the major record
labels that Spotify has, Pandora not only struggles with expanding its music library but also with
maintaining a feasible monetary system. Pandora operates annually at a loss of millions due to
complicated digital streaming rights and bandwidth costs. If the service cannot combat the Spotify
horde swatting at its crown, Pandora will find itself permanently dethroned пїЅ. The next question
is obvious: what will Pandora do to combat the increasing strength of Spotify and their listener
base? According to Forbes, Pandora has started to venture into automotive territory. Starting early
last year, Pandora has been making deals with manufacturers Ford and BMW, and partnered with
Pioneer for access to Toyota, Hyundai and GM. According to the Trefis team writing for the Street,
This is going to be a major avenue of growth given that almost half of the radio listening happens in
automobiles пїЅ. This strategy for Pandora may help to create a little extra wiggle room when it
comes to separating the two digital radio giants. However, the tremendous

Vanishing Voices Summary
In the article Vanishing Voices by Russ Rymer, given by college board, it describes the effects of
languages that are going extinct. A debate has arisen concerning the want to place restrictions on a
form of speech most people are unaware of, encryption. One of the largest debates has recently
come to light, as the animosity between the The Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) and the major
technology companies regarding encryption reaches new heights. Since the Dotcom boom in the
year 2000 technology has integrated itself into our everyday lives, we use it for baking, shopping,
listening to music, entertainment, text messaging, facetime, and mapping our way in a new place,
to name a few. The electronics that we use everyday contain all of... Show more content on

For many, the idea that government could could have access to all of an individual s personal
information by manipulation of ciphertext is a violation of free speech. The applicable part of
the First Amendment here prohibits the making of any law, abridging the freedom of speech
(The First Amendment). There are an abundance of ways to communicate, we can write words,
we can talk, we can take photographs, we can draw pictures. The Northwest Public Radio (NPR)
published the article, Apple s First Amendment Argument it states that, during the 1990 s. There
was a confrontation in court on whether code, or encryption, is a form of speech . A student at
University of California by the name of Daniel Bernstein, created an encryption software called
Snuffle. He attempted to put it on the Internet, the government made an effort to stop him, using
laws that were meant for the restrictions of firearms and ammunitions. Eric Goldman is a
professor at Santa Clara University School of Law argued in the NPR article, In Fighting FBI,
Apple Says Free Speech Rights Mean No Forced Coding that Daniel Bernstein s code was a form
of speech and therefore protected by the Constitution . Goldman was saying I believe that
privacy is important and I m going to use this software as a platform to protect this right . The
Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals acknowledged that software is a form of speech and has been
treated as such ever since. Therefore if software code is speech, Apple claims the First Amendment
also means the government cannot force Apple to comply with its cause. The FBI wants Apple to
write software code to help it break into the iPhone. The opposing side of this argument is lead by
the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The government is concerned that technology s security
will prevent them from maximizing the safety of the U.S. citizens.

Thesis Statement About Marriage
NURUL ATIRAH BINTI ROSLI

PROBLEM STATEMENT
Marriage is a ritual that marks a change in status for a man and a woman and the acceptance by
society of the new family that is formed (Rosman Rubel, 1981). Marriage, like other customs, is
governed by rules (Rosman Rubel, 1981). Anthropology has represented marriage as the definitive
ritual and universally translatable regulative ideal of human societies (BORNEMAN, 1996).
Marriage also the act of joining two persons of opposite sex together to become as husband and
wife. Many people in the society have different opinions or outright misconception of the meaning
of marriage. While some people see it as a union between a man and woman, others take it to mean

Characters In Alice Munro s Differently
In Alice Munro s short story Differently, the main character Georgia recounts memories of Maya
and their fallout when she visits her friend s widowed husband many years later. Upon her visit, her
mind is flooded with memories of friendship, infidelity, and broken trust which inevitably
disconnected her from Maya and Ben (Georgia s husband). Throughout the text, the author
highlights the main character s inability to filter through many details as she describes the end of
various relationships following Maya s betrayal. The author s thorough description of settings,
characters, and events emphasizes Georgia s difficulty in focusing on what details of her life are
important, as most of them seem important to her.
The opening words of Alice Munro s Differently introduce the style the author uses throughout the
short story: Georgia once took a creative writing course, and what the instructor told her was: Too
many things. Too many things going on at the same time; also too many people [...] What do you
want us to pay attention to? Think (Munro 1). These lines echo in the mind of the reader as they
dive further into the text, reading about too many things and meeting too many people.
Munro introduces Georgia, Raymond, Maya, Ben, Harvey, Anne, Hilda and her former creative
writing instructor all within the first few pages. The role of each character (aside from the creative
writing instructor) is clouded with the details of their physical appearance or small mannerisms.

Problems With Driverless Cars
In an increasingly automated world, it is inevitable that driving will someday simply consist of of
inputting an address and sitting back to enjoy the ride. While some might complain that driverless
cars restrict our independence, autonomous technology could prevent thousands of deaths in
Houston and boost the economy by removing the risk of human error.
Recent experiments in California have already proven the superior reliability of autonomous
technology in comparison to old fashioned, human operated vehicles. Overall, the majority of
crashes involving self driving cars are caused by outside human error. If the entire city were
autonomous, it would be unlikely for driverless cars to experience significant issues. In the city of
Houston, this could possibly save the lives of more than 3,000 people per year.
Furthermore, fewer traffic accidents would result in less road congestion throughout the year. A
study conducted by the Texas A M Transportation Institute ranked Houston as... Show more content

In addition, the use of AI is quite controversial from an ethics standpoint. The trolley problem is a
no win situation where it is guaranteed that either one person or a group of people will die, based
on the choices made by an outsider, who in this case would be the car. If programmed to choose the
most utilitarian outcome, the driver of the car would perish in such a scenario. Knowing this
information, the requirement of self driving cars could cause an extreme public outcry.
For these reasons, driverless cars will only have an insignificant impact on the city of Houston until
the flaws are worked out and drivers accept such a foreign change. When that day comes, Houston
may find itself in better standing thanks to efficient AI, saving lives, time, and money after making

How Is A Father Portrayed In The Aeneid
Great Value of Family
The Aeneid is a Latin epic poem, writing by Virgil, that tells the legendary story of Aeneas, a

Abstract:
In agricultural industry, along with vegetables, fruit production also plays a vital role. For better
yield of fruit, detection of fruit diseases at early stage is necessary for taking preventive
measures, so as to reduce the loss of farmer. For detecting the disease an earlier approach was to
hire an expert which was time consuming for large farms, hence to reduce human efforts and to
improve the yield of fruits we are proposing a system which includes smart farming technique .In
the proposed system image processing is used for getting the required output, we are using Open
Cv library which is an image processing software. Images are classified and mapped to respective
diseases on basis of following features: color, texture, morphology, structure of hole and odour. E

Use Of Hypnosis Used For A Very Long Time
Hypnosis has been in use for a very long time, but we tend to think about its use for healing or
therapeutic purposes as a recent development. In fact, an article, A Brief
History of Hypnosis, stated Ancient Chinese, Hindu, and Egyptian texts all mention healing
procedures that are hypnotic inductions by any other name .For something so old, one would think
we would have a better understanding of it. Modern hypnosis got a lot from Franz Mesmer (1734

known as mesmerism . He used the mesmeric pass , a very complex and long set of hand

In the article, The Truth about
Hypnosis, one can even learn how to self hypnotize. They can convince their self about things to
potentially help their decision making. The text says: You can easily test the benefits of self
hypnosis. Simply sit or lie down and get comfortable in a quiet setting.
Then, close your eyes and take in a few deep breaths, slowly, in and out. This places many people
into a mild trance and a state of comfortable relaxation. In this state, say some optimistic things to
yourself (e.g., I can easily skip dessert ) and picture some pleasant events (e.g., visualize

The Errors Of Judgment That Stood Out
There are three errors in judgment that stood out to me in the reading and attend. Unwarranted
assumptions are beliefs and ideas that are taken for granted (Bethel, 2013). Both personally and
professionally unwarranted assumptions can cause a lack of communication. This can lead to
problems in relationships and deadlines not being met. Projection is tendency to attribute to
others some of our own traits . Often times, when we have personality traits or feelings, we
assume others are doing or feel the same. This can lead to hurt feelings, resentment, and lack of
communication. And, sweeping generalizations means one experience is used to generalize
about a whole group . When you put an entire group into a category, you can actually lead to you
missing out on good situations and even better people. On the other hand, you could also get
yourself into trouble by assuming the best of an entire group based on one experience with one
or two people involved. Last year, I made an unwarranted assumption at work. Although it didn t
get me wrote up, it did cause a dust up in the workplace. Previous administration had left it to the
bookkeeper to know when an employee left during the work day. I let the bookkeeper know I had
to leave for an hour or so, but didn t let my administration know. It was during state testing week
and we were not supposed to leave the school. I should have cleared it with administration. I often

Satire In Invisible Man
There is a deliberate juxtaposition in the opening pages of Graceland between the garbage ridden
streets of Lagos teeming with naked children and Elvis melancholy, retrospective and, (not without
a deliberate irony on the part of Albani) reading a copy of Ellison s American classic Invisible
Man. The monstrous slum of Lagosis crushing in its poverty; Elvis, despite the squander of his
personal circumstance, somehow doesn t fit the image of his city. Why, in a novel based in its
exploration of a poverty stricken African slum, would the protagonist live entirely outside of the
normality of his setting? Elvis is an aspiring dancer; frequently ambiguous in both his gender and
sexuality, the unprecedentedly moralistic teenager constantly contradicts... Show more content on

It is here that the power of globalization is most evident; Elvis is molded and guided by
intangibilities, and the city of Lagos is also understood through the ways in which it contrasts
America. Despite the literal geographical separation between Lagos and Nigeria, the colonialist
influence of the western world and the United States are clearly chartered throughout the novel.
Admiring himself from many angles, he thought it was a shame he couldn t wear makeup in
public. That s not true, he mentally corrected himself. He could, like the transvestites that
haunted the car parks of hotels favored by rich locals and visiting whites. But like them, he
would be a target of some insult, or worse, physical beatings, many of which were meted out by
the police, who then took turns with their victims in the back of their vans. It was exasperating
that he couldn t appear in public looking as much like the real Elvis Presley as possible.
Struggling with his identity, Elvis desires to wear makeup without fearing the retaliation of his
community. It is in the implanted whiteness and pockets of Americanism where that freedom is
most closely accessible. Yet, the physical reality of the hotels (their literal placement in Lagos)
meant that the governing moral principles of Lagos prevented Elvis from being anything but an
outcast and a victim if he chose to express himself. The American presence in Lagos managed to
be pervasive while simultaneously having no palliative effect on Elvis estrangement within the
slum. The cast of characters employed by Albani, from the elitist white tourists to Redemption to
Uncle Joseph all serve to construct an image of Lagos in relation to America. It wasn t singularly
the explicit references to America or to Elvis s connection to the United States that aided Albani in
his describing of

Effective Use of Dialogue in The Sacrifice of Isaac Essay
Effective Use of Dialogue in The Sacrifice of Isaac
In the Brome version of The Sacrifice of Isaac, the suspense created by the emotionally charged
dialogue is likely what kept the audience s attention. While it is incredibly likely that the audience
knew the entire story, the emotional flavor of the dialogue, such as Abraham s innocent
expressions of his love of and thankfulness for Isaac at the beginning of the play, is bound to
evoke a certain concern for the characters which dims the audience s foreknowledge of the tale s
happy ending. It is much the same principle that modern television scriptwriters use to hold viewers
attention through a series; the main characters, who can t die because they are needed for next

The playwright is open with regards to God s reason in asking for the sacrifice of the most useful
and beloved of Abraham s sons. As He says in lines 33 34, I schall asay now his good will,
/ Whether he lovith better his child or me. In other words, God is jealous, an emotion that I find
badly suited to an omnipotent deity, but that the Old Testament emphasizes as one of God s primary
motivations.
When the angel first tells Abraham of God s wishes, Abraham states that he has never begrudged
God anything, and although it pains him greatly, he will not begrudge God the sacrifice of his
son. When he makes this speech, it appears that Abraham is accepting his fate with a brave face
and a pounding heart, hoping that his bold acceptance of something he obviously feels is wrong
will cause God to back down from his request. At this point, the audience, too, stands with brave
faces and pounding hearts, waiting to hear God s acknowledgement of Abraham s acceptance. I
certainly found myself mimicking Abraham s stance, gripping my book in the delicate but
powerful hold of one who is anxious and uncertain. Will God go through with it? I asked myself,
unable to peel my eyes from the pages and realise that I knew how this story was constructed. I
imagine that the sensation is even stronger if the play is watched instead of read.

Examples Of Ethical Issues In The Movie
6.Do you think the form of presentation of ethical issues in that art form a correct portrayal of the
ethical issue? Was it lost in details or made subtle, intangible and more convincing? 300 words.
The ethical issues manifest in the form of unintentional irony. Bruner remarks in the first half of the
movie that she is an agnostic, skeptical woman and does not believe in Father Moore s explanation
of the events that have transpired. Later on when she herself experiences some events that veer on
the threshold of the supernatural, she decides to prove to the court that Emily in fact was possessed
by demons. In the end, failing to produce adequate evidence, she manipulates the jury using Father
Moore s background and influences them further by invoking their faith, the faith that she has
newly discovered.
If the viewers find themselves engaging with the supernatural aspect of the film, they certainly miss
the ethical breach that Bruner commits. Because the viewer follows the movie only from the point
of view of either Bruner or Father Moore, they are oblivious to the manipulation that Bruner and
Father Moore execute throughout. The ethical issue is not presented as the central issue the use of

Personal Finance Impact
Personal finance is having a financial ability to make decisions and act on certain activities for
oneself. These decisions and activities can be from budgeting, saving, investing, handling debts
and mortgages, and much more. It is important for each individual to be able to manage their
money for their own future and understand how credit cards work, being able to get out of debt
such as student loans, and to be able to invest and save their finances. Economics has a huge
impact on how we spend and budget ourselves yet if we are not careful, we would be in a difficult
situation that would be tough to get out of. Credit cards can either break us or make us depending
on how we handle them. Student loans are something that most graduates will... Show more content

Most would stick to the basic 401k retirement plan which would be the extent of their
investments. Saving money is important once income is starting to be earned yet investing
money can be a scary thought but in reality, it is fairly painless. We do not want to be in our
forties and realize investing and saving now will help in the future. Yes, there still will be
another 20 years of working but imagine if we all started at the age of our 20s. There would be
an extra 20 years added to our retirement or better yet, if we were smart with our investments,
then we could retire much earlier than expected. Let s say for instance that we invest about $10
a week with an average 8% percent return. Within a year, we would have $562. Within 5 years,
we would have $3,295. Within 10 years, we would have $8,136. It is only investing $10 a week
but if we were to invest more imagine the outcome for the return. Investment is one of the most,
if not the most, effective way to get rich. 401k retirement plan is the most common way to retire.
Start contributing at the age of 25 to be able to take out money at age of 60. If we were to
contribute about $5,000 a year without employer match then it could lead up to close to million
dollars. Yet if the employer was able to match it $1 for $1, then it will come close to 2 million
dollars. That is a huge difference and one of the best ways to retire. Only

Raising Money For The Fund
Raising money for the Rally for the Jimmy Fund over the last few weeks has been an eye
opening experience into both the world of fundraising for charity as well as in professional sales.
Getting out into the real world and applying skills from classroom that were still fresh in your
mind was a far better learning experience than weekly homework assignments. The Jimmy Fund is
a charity that does a great job branding and making its presence known so convincing people to
donate was less of telling them about the product and more getting them to open up their wallets

would be willing to donate. The fourth week was where I focused more on my family members and
family friends, sending texts, personal emails, and making calls to people that would take the
time to donate. Finally, the fifth week was meant for follow ups as well as reaching out to a close
contacts that would put me over my goal of $601. I believe that this approach would let me find
out what worked and what didn t while still giving me time to reach my goal.
I chose the people that I requested donations from very carefully, I believed that it was important,
when it came down to it to have people that I truly believed would make a donation and focused
hard on them rather than sending spam emails to everyone I can asking for donations. My
immediate family was an easy choice, my mother loves volunteering and my father has a sales

gave me a better grade. After that I focused on family that work in business and had a lot of

Boundaries, Symmetry and Continuity in Radcliffe s The...
Below is a passage from I.2 of Radcliffe s The Mysteries of Udolpho concerning the concept of
precepts in relation to the characters of St. Aubert and his daughter Emily: I have attempted to
teach you from your earliest youth, the duty of self command [...] not only as it preserves us from
the various and dangerous temptations that call us from rectitude and virtue, but as it limits the
indulgences which are termed virtuous, yet which, extended beyond a certain boundary are
vicious...All excess is vicious; even that sorrow, which is amiable in its origin, becomes a selfish
and unjust passion, if indulged at the expense of our duties. [...] The indulgence of excessive grief

This logic of symmetry and deformity is located in the depiction of Nature a landscaped variety
and the characters relationships to their natural environment. The environs of La VallГ©e are
characterized by the qualities of the picturesque landscape, and every angle of the house looks
out on some prospect (2 4). In this landscape there is natural symmetry the improvements that St.
Aubert makes to the ground around the chateau are few and conform to a taste for the beautiful
(6) that is formed by nature rather than learned (see how St. Aubert conceives of Valancourt
[35]). During the tour through the Pyrenees, many prospects are remarked upon, but so too is
the absence of a prospect (28 29). Prospects are what make a landscape it is from a view large
enough to incorporate diverse elements of a scene and a variety of distances that a landscape
(comprised of foreground, middle ground, and a background) emerges. The idea of prospect is
involved with the concept of perspective, and perspective (as it relates to the way one interacts
with anything) brings us back to the ideas of taste and precept. But taste, precept, and prospect are
in turn all linked to a consciousness of past, present, and future. Thus St. Aubert, when making
improvements in his estate or in his daughter is always referencing them to his past experiences at
La Vallee (2, 4), or to his hopes and fears for

Views of Death and Loss in the Poems of Pablo Neruda and...
Death has inspired poets across time and space, language barriers, and cultures allowing them to
create transcendent works that resonate with many individuals. Two poets whose works
incorporate the theme of death are Dylan Thomas (1914 1953), a Welsh poet and writer, and
Pablo Neruda (1904 1973), a Chilean poet, diplomat, and politician. Thomas s Do Not Go Gentle
Into That Good Night, one of his most famous poems, focuses on Thomas s struggle to come to
terms with his father s death. Neruda s poem, The Dead Woman focuses on the poets resolve to
overcome the loss of the woman he loves. Both Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night and The
Dead Woman demonstrate how each poet views death and how he is able to come to terms with
the loss of a loved one.
Thomas wrote Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night shortly before his father s death. In the
poem, Thomas supplicates his father to fight against his instinct and desire to give in to death
through various appeals. Thomas argues, Old age should burn and rave at close of day (Thomas
2). Through this statement, Thomas maintains that despite one s age, there is a desire to fight
against death, whether because one is afraid to face the inevitable or because one wishes to live
as long as they can. Thomas provides his father with various examples of different types of men,
who despite their differences share a common goal. He describes how wise men who at their end
know dark is right, Good men, the last wave by, crying

Money Can t Buy Happiness
A 2010 study conducted by Princeton University s Center For Health and Well Being threatens to
discredit the age old adage that money can t buy happiness because, as it turns out, money can
buy happiness...at least to an extent. The study isolated a so called happiness benchmark for
annual income, at or above which research subjects reported higher levels of overall life
satisfaction. A possible ramification of the study is that because certain groups of people have more
difficulty finding and maintaining job positions that provide an adequate salary, they are much
more likely to experience lower overall life satisfaction, and by extension happiness, purely as a
result of their heritage or upbringing. Although a substantial income alone cannot make you
happier on a day to day basis, those able to attain an annual income of $75,000+ are generally more
satisfied with their lives altogether.
The Price of Happiness: $75,000?
The Wall Street Journal observed that in the Princeton study, the participants life satisfaction was
directly linked to their income and how they measured their life in comparison to others, but when
participants evaluated their inner life, their income had far less of an impact on their perceived
happiness (Frank). Psychologist and Nobel laureate Daniel Kahneman, who helped to pioneer the
study alongside Princeton economist Angus Deaton, noted that What [researchers] didn t know

Mesh Editing with Poisson-Based Gradient Field Manipulation
Introduction
Three dimensional geometric models are the base data for applications in computer graphics,
computer aided design, visualization, multimedia, and other related fields. This report will focus on
computerized modeling editing of discrete (digital) geometry, in particular polygonal meshes. In
this report, I will survey the state of the art techniques for creating, manipulating, editing and
analyzing digital geometry models.
The mesh editing techniques we discussed here are : Poisson Shape Interpolation[1], Mesh Editing
with Poisson Based Gradient Field Manipulation[2], Mesh Editing based on Discrete Laplace and
Poisson Models[3], Mesh Editing with Curvature Flow Laplacian[4] and Mean Value coordinates
for Closed triangular meshes[5]. All the five techniques will be discussed in detail in section 2 6.
In section 7, we ll do a comprehensive comparison of these five techniques and conclude in section
8. Poisson Shape Interpolation
Shape interpolation which is also known as shape blending or morphing is used in many aspects
of computer graphics industry widely. Provided two input models, the shape interpolation will
produce a set of shapes in sequence to demonstrate how the source model is changed to the target
model smoothly. It can also be applied to forecast new product from known products.
It s well known that in B rep(boundary representation) shape interpolation[6], there are two major
issues which are correspondence problem and trajectory problem. The

How Technology Has Changed Business
The rise in technology over the last two decades has affected businesses tremendously. E business is
changing not only how we buy and sell but is transforming the way we do business altogether. In
the fast paced and competitive nature of the business marketplace, e business has allowed
companies to increase the value of their organization by improving their operations, not just
allowing customers to buy over the internet. In order to stay competitive, businesses must embrace
the culture change into new technology. This is one of the greatest challenges that business face
today. It is important to recognize how technology has influenced businesses, how new technologies
can be adopted, and what it means for consumers and organizations.
E business is the use of Internet technologies to link customers, suppliers, business partners, and
employees (Information Week, Dec 13, 1999). This can be in the form of e commerce websites that
offer sale transactions, customer service websites, intranets and enterprise portals, extranets and
supply chains, and lastly, IP electronic data interchange. The use of these different networks and
technologies all businesses to improve, enable, enhance, invent, or transform a business process.
Basically, technology helps build and manage relationships within a business to potentially
transform a firm into a networked entity with seamless supply chains and superior value creation
processes.
The adoption of innovative technology can be viewed from

quality of the online course information, as well as, having a tenured professor or an average non

Plot Development in Amy Tan s The Joy Luck Club
Many times plot development is thought of as a key detail in keeping a story organized, while
others would say that plot structure tends to add too much order to a piece of work and hinder the
reader from exploring true creativity. A great example of these two contrasting ideas is illustrated
in Amy Tan s well known novel The Joy Luck Club. Although some could argue that there is no
definite plot structure portrayed at all within the book, this is not true. A slight plot lies within each
individual short story. While there might not be an overall rising and falling action connected
throughout the novel, an exposition, climax, and resolution are clearly illustrated in each story.
Typically, the exposition provides background information and introduces the reader to what the
story will be about. An example of this would be in the beginning of the story, Two Kinds , when
Jing Mei Woo says, My mother believed you could be anything you wanted to be in
America...my mother told me when I was nine (Tan 132). In this quote Jing Mei Woo informs
the reader on how her mother would always tell her that America is the land of opportunity, and
also gives the reader a key idea that follows her throughout much of her life. This idea helps to
explain many of Jing Mei s actions. On the other hand, this story is placed towards the middle of
the novel, meaning this story should begin to set up for the climax of the over all novel. For
example, this story is about her Jing Mei Woo s

individuals all around the world. This is relevant in terms of gender, nationality, and race, especially

Descriptive Essay On Destitute Beauty
Destitute Beauty In the large city of New York, there are many beautiful people. I am not one of
them. I can pass hours away sitting in a coffee shop in a tall seat next to the window, watching
the beauties pass, seeing my reflection against them even more bloated and lumpy than normal.
Some of them notice me. Most of them don t. It doesn t matter. Like I said, New York is a large
city, I ll never see them again. And anyway, I m sure they re used to people staring. How could
they not be, they draw people with their large, black rimmed eyes and lean figures and cutting
jawbones like dogs to the enticing smell of meat. I am just another dog, one they will forget in
moments. And when the sun sets, and the beautiful people fade away and the crowd becomes
faceless and intoxicated, that s when I leave, and where I stay until the sun rises, becoming one
with the pulse and throb of the mass. Promising myself that the next day, yes, the next day, I ll
get a job, ignore the cold, gorgeous people, succeed even with my lumps, and papery skin, and
eyes that are just a little too far apart. And the next day, with my headache, I return. Today is
yesterday and the day before. The sun is especially bright now, almost passive aggressively
bright, shining smugly through the haze that buries the city, bouncing into the small cafe in
which I spend most of my time. It s supposed to be homey, with nearly dead plants hanging
skeletal by the windows and overstuffed couches near a coffee table. I sit in the uncomfortable
seat that s almost comically tall, at the only table next to a window. The barista Ellen is chatting
happily with a customer, she barely notices me anymore. Which is fine by me. A woman, with
long legs and hollows under her cheekbones, struts past the cafГ©, a mere foot away from me. She
doesn t notice my stare. It s a funny thing. People talk all they want about feeling when people stare
at them, getting goosebumps and looking around frantically for their admirer. But either it isn t
true, or I m not important enough for my stare to mean anything, hold any weight. Searching

Abstract This paper investigates the optimal active and reactive power control capabilities for
typical wind turbine (WT) driven doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The main objective is to
determine the optimal rotor voltage to extract certain active and reactive power from the DFIG
over wide ranges of wind speed. Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm is a
new heuristic optimization technique, used to obtain the optimum rotor voltages to achieve
reference active and reactive powers overall operating points. Artificial Neural Network (ANN)
controller is used as an adaptive controller to predict the value of rotor voltage for all operating
points. The ideal power curve of a 2 MW wind turbine has been estimated to design the active
power controller. The stator reactive power control capability with the range of В±1.6 MVAR is
developed. With the proposed control strategy, the DFIG based wind farmprovides Maximum
Power Point Tracking (MPPT), fully active and reactive powers control. For all operated wind
speeds, the adaptive proposed controller develops useful network

Why We Shouldn T Have Homework
Why Students Shouldn t Have Homework I believe, as a student, that homework is just a tool
that teachers use to keep us busy. Being a student who has received homework for various years,
I have found that homework causes me a lot of stress (Ethos). Homework causes kids to get very
stressed out, it causes stress in their families, and studies show that it does not improve test
scores. Harris Cooper, a worker at Duke University (Ethos), found out that, doing more than 60 to
90 minute of homework in middle school and more than 2 hours in high school is associated with
much lower scores (Logos). This just shows that homework is a useless item that students are
forced to do. Firstly, students have to wake up from seven until two o clock everyday,... Show more

By not giving out homework, students will work harder in class and have better grades.
Teachers have to understand that if students are tired from late nights, they wouldn t be able to
work efficiently during the day. In addition, students would be much more excited to come to
school because they know they wouldn t have to worry about getting any homework. In 2010, a
survey was taken and it showed that about 70% of teen ages 11 to 17 get less than 8 hours of
sleep per day due to the amount of homework they have to do (Logos). According to Alfie Kohen,
students feel forced to do their homework, therefore they aren t learning as much as they should
(Ethos). Students lose interest in the topic and do not benefit from what they re learning. In
China, a cry for change by a mother who lost her thirteen year old daughter who committed
suicide due to her inability to achieve in math, the mother considers homework is a huge negative
factor toward her deceased daughter s tragic ending along with the pressure of society (Pathos).
Such a story should leave us wondering, how many more children need to suffer the silent
epidemic of school stress. Statistics prove the leading cause for the majority of physical and
emotional complaints leading up to diagnosis of depression in middle and high school due to the

Message of the Mountain is a Christian fiction book written by Matilda Nordtvedt. Chapters 5 to
14 have forty four pages in all. The story takes place in Bellingham, Washington, in the early
1900s. In Chapter 5, the Johnson family went to church. John still could not decide on what to
believe in, creation or the theory of evolution; but after Mr. Strom s discussion, he believed in
creation. While in Chapter 6, John was convinced by Mr. William s lecture that everything
evolved from something. After class, the trio: John, Marvin, and Pete were down by the tracks
smoking. Marvin suddenly asked for John s share of tobacco, but John said he did not afford
tobacco and Papa does not smoke. Marvin shrugged and suggested him to steal some at Mr.
Thorsen s store. John was astonished by his suggestion; he could not steal now or could he? In
Chapter 7, Mama had a big announcement: Hilda could take piano lessons if Mama would clean
Mrs. Lavine s house once a week. The girls were squealing from excitement but all John felt was
hugging someone and getting some tobacco. In Chapter 8, Mr. Strom showed his complex watch

LETTER TO THE THESSALONIANS Introduction It is not possible to discern Christ without
recognizing the Church. St. Paul was the first to put effort with the question of What the Church
was? There was veracity presented ahead of him, an area of believers, which had a special
character, a definite spiritual character that, even from its past life, was hard to seize. In other
words, as Christ s characteristics is ultimately a mystery afar from our thinking, so in the same
way the Church that stick on him is also a mystery, somewhat that lies afar from our entire
understanding. We will perceive, into this paper that how St. Paul articulated his upward
perceptive of the characteristics of the Church in different images and metaphors; secondly, we
will look at it more direct at two of these reflections: the Body of Christ and the Bride of Christ;
thirdly, we will test the organizational configuration of the Church as mentioned by St. Paul; to end
with we will learn how St.

Long Term Goals
I have many short and long term goals set for myself. The time frame for short term goals is
three to five years and for long term goals, five to ten years. These time frames give me realistic

Psychoanalytical Criticism of Macbeth
Psychoanalytical criticism is a form of literary critique, which uses some of the techniques of
psychoanalysis in the interpretation of literature. One of the more prevalent Psychoanalytical
theorists after Freud was Jacques Lacan. In his text, The Signification of the Phallus, asserts that
the idea of both sexes are based on the male being and the female having the phallus, and these two
differences determine the relations between the sexes while also bringing them together. For
Lacan, the phallus for males represents power, authority, and desire while for females the phallus
signifies lack of power and agency (182).
Another important text by Lacan is The Agency of the Letter in the Unconscious or Reason since
Freud. This text ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would argue, however, that Lady Macbeth s unsex me here speech tends to deconstruct gender
categories, unfixing the rigid cultural distinctions as well as attributes which define male and
female (Chamberlain 79).
Lady Macbeth wants the spirits to unsex [her] here not because she wants to be transformed into a
man, but rather she desires the same male characteristics as her husband which are associated with
violence. Alfar claims, If she does indeed transgress her gender to become more manly, therefore,
it is because she must do so to reflect as conduct manuals demand the bloody desire of her husband
(181).
After returning home from the battlefield, Macbeth consciously ponders murdering his king.
However, his loyalty to the crown overtakes his hidden desire, and he resolves: If chance will
have me king, why, chance / may crown me / Without my stir (1.3) Macbeth then informs Lady
Macbeth that he is not will to commit regicide. Upon hearing that Macbeth has disregarded his
black and deep desires, Lady Macbeth tries to convince Macbeth to go through with the deed:
Was the hope drunk
Wherein you dressed yourself? Hath it slept since?
And wakes it now, to look so green and pale
At what it did so freely? From this time
Such I account thy love. Art thou afeard
To be the same in thine own act and valor
As thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that
Which thou esteem st the ornament of life

Healing Emotional Trauma Research Paper
Healing emotional trauma
Emotional wounds are as real as physical bleeding wounds, and can affect every aspect of your life.
You are at risk, regardless if you are a direct victim or somehow exposed to extreme, unpredictable
and uncontrollable life threatening events such as war, natural disasters, accidents, rape, physical or
sexual assault, kidnapping, domestic violence, workplace or school bullying, physical or emotional
abuse.
PTSD ASD, STS and AD, are clinical conditions associated with traumatic events or post traumatic
stress. Although most people associate these conditions with extreme life threatening situations, not
everyone with a form of traumatic stress has been through such dangerous events.
Even though the emotional trauma seems to be a highly individual experience, trans generational
PTSD like or hereditary trauma and behavioral patterns may be transmitted across generations
through the process of parental epigenetic programming. Thus, traumatic experiences can be passed
down from generation to generation, such that children 6 years and younger may suffer from
preschool PTSD and display similar behavioral issues as their parents, or their ancestors. In a similar
way, complex tragenerational transmitted information helps the fourth generation of Monarch
butterfly descendants find theyr way and return to exactly the same wintering sites as their grand
grandparent left the winter before. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Religious and Belief Systems in Australia
Religious and Belief Systems in Australia
Q1. Outline the changing patterns of religious adherence in Australia from 1945 to the present.
There has been a lot of change in religious adherence since the end of the Second World War. At
the end of the war many Australians still had British ancestors and so most people were Christian.
With immigrants arriving in Australia after the war we started to see new religions grow.
Orthodox Christians came from places like Greece, for example. The Catholics have continued to
grow in numbers while some other Christian faiths have decreased in size. One reason why the
Catholic Church is growing is because of the arrival of immigrants from places like Africa and the
Philippines.
With the arrival of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There used to be a time when most people stuck with the religion that their parents followed.
These days more people are choosing denominational switching. This means that many people are
no longer making life long commitments to one church in particular. They are more likely to go
wherever they feel comfortable and look for a church that suits their needs.New age religions were
among the fastest growing faiths in the 2001 census, increasing by 140 percent in the five years
since 1996. New age religions differ from other faiths in that, while together they form an overall
spiritual movement, they nonetheless lack any singles unifying creed or doctrine. Adherents do
tend to share some similar beliefs and practices, which are often grafted onto other, more
formalised religious beliefs.
Another reason for denominational switching is that some parents separate or get divorced.
Surveys have shown that children from families that have broken up are more likely to stop
following the family religion. A study of people in Catholic and Protestant churches found the
following pattern: If a family was broken up because of divorce, Catholics were 1.7 times more
likely to switch to a moderate protestant church and 2.6 times more likely to switch to a
conservative protestant church.
For many years there has been a number of Australians who describe themselves as having no
religion on the census. In the 2011 census, (http://www.abs.gov.au )22.3% of the

Batman As Superheros
For many, a superhero must have certain qualities. People want a superhero that is loyal, selfless,
smart and strong. These characteristics are what many superheroes in comic books have; and in the
early twentieth century, many teen boys were turning to for guidance. Batman was created for the
kids who did not have it very easy. Batmansaw both of his parents murdered and became a
vigilante to fight off crime. Bruce Wayne changes into Batman for the better and portrays the
better qualities of a hero as opposed to Dr. Jekyll in the book, The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and
Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson. Dr. Jekyll changes himself from a good man to an evil man.
Much like many other superheroes, Batman is the alter ego of Bruce Wayne. Some heroes may
not have an alter ego like mythological heroes. Heroes are able to have all different sorts of
characteristics; it just depends on their story. In The Picture of Dorian Gray, Oscar Wilde, Dorian
Gray has used his portrait to be eternally young and learns to see evil as beautiful (150). Unlike
Dorian, Batman is everything but selfish and risks everything for the better of man kind. Batman
will always be the superherothat kids can look up to and know is going to give everything he has
to better this world. When it comes to super human powers, that is where Batman lacks. He has no
powers to his human self that make him who he is. Batman is the alter ego of Bruce Wayne who is

The Nigerian Stock Market and Its Impact on the Economy
CHAPTER ONE
OVERVIEW
Nigeria, like many other African countries, was created from a multi ethnic, socially and culturally
diverse people, situated between the Equator and the tropic of cancer, its climate and vegetation can
afford the growth of many tropical commodities such as cocoa, groundnuts, palm produce and
rubber. Starting from a low technological base after political independence in 1960, the country
embarked on the arduous task of building a state with one identity by integrating the different
ethnicities and transforming the barter economy into financial exchange economy. The country
provided infrastructure and social amenities for a very young population. Over the years, policies
were pursued in order to achieve the goal of a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Fakiyesi, O.M. in his paper also said that the poor in Nigeria have limited access to savings and
credit facilities, good roads, pipe borne water, innovative technology and low output markets. They
are predominantly in subsistence agriculture and in petty trading, utilising traditional input. This is
why the role of the capital market as agent of growth and development is very important, thus this
role has been subject of concern and has drawn comments from different fora. It is under this
background this study was proposed, to further clarify the symbiotic relationship between the
capital market and economic development.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
Economic advancement and allocation of the aggregate investment in an economy for production
of goods and services are too prominent factors in our national development. The importance of
capital market can be ascertained from the increasing emphasis and recognition accorded to
investment as veritable instruments of development by policy makers in Nigeria and the world over.
Capital mobilisation and allocation are very essential if the regular features of poor infrastructural
facilities (i.e. bad roads/poor road networks, lack of electricity, water, indecent accommodation,
inadequate educational institutions, lack of health centres and poor

are being forced to mine it. As the CBC news article Coltan; A New Blood Mineral apprises its
reader, numerous more community s lives will be permanently altered by the mining of coltan.
Potential mines are also being explored in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Greenland, Mozambique, the United

Nationalism And Imperialism
Ananya Chilakamarthi

Imperialism
Imperialism is the act of dominating a society or a group. It involves the subjugation of a
population. It dictates the political and economic advantage over a land and the indigenous people
they control. A society is introduced to concepts of industrialization and they are pressured or
forced to imitate the culture of the industrialized country so that they can reach civilization. Since
the industrial revolution had taken place, the Europeans were in need of more natural resources.
The Europeans wanted economic expansion because they were facing overproduction and
underconsumption. Social Darwinism was another factor that led the colonization. Imperialism
was helpful to a country but also had been very detrimental to the cultures inner mentality by
removing previous traditions that were practiced and replacing it with the colonizers traditions. In
the book, Nectar in a Sieve it is shown how many native traditions were gradually torn away from
India because of the invasive British rule. The story focuses on a poor woman, Rukmani (Ruku),
as well as her friends and family, as India goes through this change. The characters suffer crushing
poverty. They re stripped of their lives in the face of huge global changes that have left them
behind. Imperialism reflects dominance as it shows tremendous inequalities between nations.
Imperialists will imperialize a country to gain raw materials for their own benefit. There was
tremendous demand in Europe for Chinese tea, silks, and porcelain pottery, but there was
correspondingly little demand in China for Europe s manufactured goods and other trade items.
Consequently, Europeans had to pay for Chinese products with gold or silver. The opium trade,
which created a steady demand among Chinese addicts for opium exported by the West, solved this
chronic trade imbalance. Levels of opium addiction grew so high that it began to affect the Chinese
troops and the official classes. The efforts of the Qing dynasty to enforce the opium restrictions
resulted in two armed conflicts between China and the West, known as the Opium Wars, both of
which China lost and this resulted in various measures

Satire In Candide Analysis

Voltaire s Criticism of Enlightened Beliefs
Through The Eyes of Candide
Voltaire, one the Enlightenment s greatest leaders was well known for his use of satire to expose
and criticize vices of the 18th century. Through his writing, Voltairesuccessfully uses irony and
parody as a means to satirize what he believes is wrong with 18th century life. In his novel Candide,
Voltaire focuses on many topics, specifically the pitfalls and dangers of optimism, the hypocrisy of
the Catholic Church, and political injustice. Although humorous, the irony and parody that exists in
the novel serve the purpose of exposing the Enlightenment s widely accepted views of political,
philosophical, and religious practices through the eyes of Candide.
Voltaire had an appreciation for the more liberal and free societies which he witnessed in Britain.
He believed that the political system in France was corrupt and favored the aristocracy while
undermining commoner s rights. In Candide, Voltaire parodies the Enlightenment s magnificent
view of lords as he describes the Baron of Westphalia:
The Baron was one of the most powerful lords in Westphalia, for his castle had not only a gate, but
even windows, and his great hall was hung with tapestry. He used to hunt with his mastiffs and
spaniels instead of greyhounds; his groom served him for huntsman; and the parson of the parish
officiated as his grand almoner. They called

College Debt And Student Completion And Attendance

College Debt and Student Completion and Attendance In mid 2010 higher education debt surpassed
credit card debt at $830 billon dollars(Clemmitt 877 900). Debt has become an increasing problem
for students who want to attend college. As more students try to further their education, tuition rises
and so does the amount of loans taken out each year. According to Belkin, Students attending
public four year institutions this academic year are paying an average of $12,620, up $220 from
last year, for tuition, room and board, meaning that tuition is only growing not decreasing from
previous years(Belkin n.p.). Many people debate over whether they should attend college and be in
debt or if they should get a job somewhere that allows them to live a comfortable life debt free.
Two thirds of college graduates have to take out loans in order to get through college(Dwyer,
McCloud, Hodson 1133 1155). Many people question, Does rising college debt limit who attends
and completes college? , while many people have different opinions on this particular subject, I
believe that it depends on the student and their situation if college debt limits who attends and
completes college because it depends on their financial stability, it depends on if they are
borrowing the right amount and it depends on if their degree provides them with the means to pay
back their loans, however, many people would disagree with me and say that yes, college

Since the establishment of the ISIS, by their online propaganda and recruitment, it has attracted many people who are volunteers from all over the world from more than 50 countries in which there are many Al Qaeda veterans whose conflict motivated by ISIS s online propaganda. One of the most significant and successful way ISIS used to call Muslim to fighting against Western countries is to tap into the belief of Sunni Muslim, especially young people. By the end of 2015, they received about 25,000 foreigners from Arab countries and about 5,000 people from Western countries. (Daniel Byman. P.80). In what ISIS reality wants, Graeme Wood says: The reality is that the Islamic State is Islamic, Very Islamic. For me, this state is not true in its reality. The ISIS is not Islamic for some reasons. • 4. What Are The Pros And Cons Of Outsourcing Digital Marketing The Pros and Cons of Outsourcing Your Website s Digital Marketing There is no doubt that the option to outsource digital marketing activities for your company website is appealing. Outsourcing is at most times convenient and blows less of a hole in your budget than hiring a full fledged in house team. You may securely leave your company s marketing to a specialized target= _blank Digital Marketing Agency or, better still, utilize the services of a skilled (and affordable) freelancer, while you concentrate your entire focus on the areas of your business that need your undivided attention. Not all companies can afford to hire digital specialists, who belong to a new breed of journeymen of all trades in online marketing having skills in SEO, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But keep in mind the advantages that an agency can bring to you a team of freelancers with various skills and their own selection process may beat the extra cost. Do not forget that even with freelancers and outsourced agencies you get what you pay for. If you pay for cheap SEO, you may end up with poor quality links and content that could get you in Google s black books. If a candidate promises 50,000 Instagram friends for $100, these are likely to be fake friends. A $5 an hour website marketer is equally suspect if such people do not value their own time, how can you expect them to value the work they deliver? 3.Flexibility: Outsourcing lets you hire only when you need work done, especially if the projects do not have mission critical deadlines. Freelancers are often more flexible than employees on your payroll, working 9 to 5. There are cases when you may want to hire a freelancer despite having a small in house team, to handle all the extra work that your in house team cannot manage. In such cases, you can achieve a fine balance of productivity between projects on deadline and more flexible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Spotify vs. Pandora In the 21st century a battle over how music is delivered has begun. No longer is terrestrial radio the only way in which listeners can discover new music, revisit nostalgic favorites and connect with their respective age groups. Online digital radio outlets have become obvious replacements for men and women between the ages of 18 34. In this day and age individuals have a surplus of options when it comes to accessing music. However, many have moved away from physical products and the technologies/outlets of times past. There are two prominent companies waging this war: Spotify and Pandora. Competition between the two programs seemed inevitable. And now, Spotify has announced a new radio station option, in effect, co opting Pandora s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With Spotify penning licensing deals with these three majors, Spotify has an upper hand on Pandora. Spotify recently launched twelve new apps backed by the major labels. Pandora lacks such deals, as do many other services. Because of this, Pandora pays a hefty sum in royalties a significant strike against its business model пїЅ. Due to the absence of deals with the major record labels that Spotify has, Pandora not only struggles with expanding its music library but also with maintaining a feasible monetary system. Pandora operates annually at a loss of millions due to complicated digital streaming rights and bandwidth costs. If the service cannot combat the Spotify horde swatting at its crown, Pandora will find itself permanently dethroned пїЅ. The next question is obvious: what will Pandora do to combat the increasing strength of Spotify and their listener base? According to Forbes, Pandora has started to venture into automotive territory. Starting early last year, Pandora has been making deals with manufacturers Ford and BMW, and partnered with Pioneer for access to Toyota, Hyundai and GM. According to the Trefis team writing for the Street, This is going to be a major avenue of growth given that almost half of the radio listening happens in automobiles пїЅ. This strategy for Pandora may help to create a little extra wiggle room when it comes to separating the two digital radio giants. However, the tremendous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Vanishing Voices Summary In the article Vanishing Voices by Russ Rymer, given by college board, it describes the effects of languages that are going extinct. A debate has arisen concerning the want to place restrictions on a form of speech most people are unaware of, encryption. One of the largest debates has recently come to light, as the animosity between the The Federal Bureau of Investigation(FBI) and the major technology companies regarding encryption reaches new heights. Since the Dotcom boom in the year 2000 technology has integrated itself into our everyday lives, we use it for baking, shopping, listening to music, entertainment, text messaging, facetime, and mapping our way in a new place, to name a few. The electronics that we use everyday contain all of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For many, the idea that government could could have access to all of an individual s personal information by manipulation of ciphertext is a violation of free speech. The applicable part of the First Amendment here prohibits the making of any law, abridging the freedom of speech (The First Amendment). There are an abundance of ways to communicate, we can write words, we can talk, we can take photographs, we can draw pictures. The Northwest Public Radio (NPR) published the article, Apple s First Amendment Argument it states that, during the 1990 s. There was a confrontation in court on whether code, or encryption, is a form of speech . A student at University of California by the name of Daniel Bernstein, created an encryption software called Snuffle. He attempted to put it on the Internet, the government made an effort to stop him, using laws that were meant for the restrictions of firearms and ammunitions. Eric Goldman is a professor at Santa Clara University School of Law argued in the NPR article, In Fighting FBI, Apple Says Free Speech Rights Mean No Forced Coding that Daniel Bernstein s code was a form of speech and therefore protected by the Constitution . Goldman was saying I believe that privacy is important and I m going to use this software as a platform to protect this right . The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals acknowledged that software is a form of speech and has been treated as such ever since. Therefore if software code is speech, Apple claims the First Amendment also means the government cannot force Apple to comply with its cause. The FBI wants Apple to write software code to help it break into the iPhone. The opposing side of this argument is lead by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The government is concerned that technology s security will prevent them from maximizing the safety of the U.S. citizens. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Characters In Alice Munro s Differently In Alice Munro s short story Differently, the main character Georgia recounts memories of Maya and their fallout when she visits her friend s widowed husband many years later. Upon her visit, her mind is flooded with memories of friendship, infidelity, and broken trust which inevitably disconnected her from Maya and Ben (Georgia s husband). Throughout the text, the author highlights the main character s inability to filter through many details as she describes the end of various relationships following Maya s betrayal. The author s thorough description of settings, characters, and events emphasizes Georgia s difficulty in focusing on what details of her life are important, as most of them seem important to her. The opening words of Alice Munro s Differently introduce the style the author uses throughout the short story: Georgia once took a creative writing course, and what the instructor told her was: Too many things. Too many things going on at the same time; also too many people [...] What do you want us to pay attention to? Think (Munro 1). These lines echo in the mind of the reader as they dive further into the text, reading about too many things and meeting too many people. Munro introduces Georgia, Raymond, Maya, Ben, Harvey, Anne, Hilda and her former creative writing instructor all within the first few pages. The role of each character (aside from the creative writing instructor) is clouded with the details of their physical appearance or small mannerisms. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While some might complain that driverless cars restrict our independence, autonomous technology could prevent thousands of deaths in Houston and boost the economy by removing the risk of human error. Recent experiments in California have already proven the superior reliability of autonomous technology in comparison to old fashioned, human operated vehicles. Overall, the majority of crashes involving self driving cars are caused by outside human error. If the entire city were autonomous, it would be unlikely for driverless cars to experience significant issues. • 13. The Errors Of Judgment That Stood Out There are three errors in judgment that stood out to me in the reading and attend. Unwarranted assumptions are beliefs and ideas that are taken for granted (Bethel, 2013). Both personally and professionally unwarranted assumptions can cause a lack of communication. This can lead to problems in relationships and deadlines not being met. Projection is tendency to attribute to others some of our own traits . Often times, when we have personality traits or feelings, we assume others are doing or feel the same. This can lead to hurt feelings, resentment, and lack of communication. And, sweeping generalizations means one experience is used to generalize about a whole group . When you put an entire group into a category, you can actually lead to you missing out on good situations and even better people. On the other hand, you could also get yourself into trouble by assuming the best of an entire group based on one experience with one or two people involved. Last year, I made an unwarranted assumption at work. Although it didn t get me wrote up, it did cause a dust up in the workplace. Previous administration had left it to the bookkeeper to know when an employee left during the work day. The monstrous slum of Lagosis crushing in its poverty; Elvis, despite the squander of his personal circumstance, somehow doesn t fit the image of his city. Admiring himself from many angles, he thought it was a shame he couldn t wear makeup in public. That s not true, he mentally corrected himself. He could, like the transvestites that haunted the car parks of hotels favored by rich locals and visiting whites. But like them, he would be a target of some insult, or worse, physical beatings, many of which were meted out by the police, who then took turns with their victims in the back of their vans. It was exasperating that he couldn t appear in public looking as much like the real Elvis Presley as possible. Struggling with his identity, Elvis desires to wear makeup without fearing the retaliation of his community. It is in the implanted whiteness and pockets of Americanism where that freedom is most closely accessible. Yet, the physical reality of the hotels (their literal placement in Lagos) meant that the governing moral principles of Lagos prevented Elvis from being anything but an outcast and a victim if he chose to express himself. The American presence in Lagos managed to be pervasive while simultaneously having no palliative effect on Elvis estrangement within the slum. While it is incredibly likely that the audience knew the entire story, the emotional flavor of the dialogue, such as Abraham s innocent expressions of his love of and thankfulness for Isaac at the beginning of the play, is bound to evoke a certain concern for the characters which dims the audience s foreknowledge of the tale s happy ending. This logic of symmetry and deformity is located in the depiction of Nature a landscaped variety and the characters relationships to their natural environment. The environs of La VallГ©e are characterized by the qualities of the picturesque landscape, and every angle of the house looks out on some prospect (2 4). In this landscape there is natural symmetry the improvements that St. Aubert makes to the ground around the chateau are few and conform to a taste for the beautiful (6) that is formed by nature rather than learned (see how St. Aubert conceives of Valancourt [35]). During the tour through the Pyrenees, many prospects are remarked upon, but so too is the absence of a prospect (28 29). Prospects are what make a landscape it is from a view large enough to incorporate diverse elements of a scene and a variety of distances that a landscape (comprised of foreground, middle ground, and a background) emerges. The idea of prospect is involved with the concept of perspective, and perspective (as it relates to the way one interacts with anything) brings us back to the ideas of taste and precept. But taste, precept, and prospect are in turn all linked to a consciousness of past, present, and future. Death has inspired poets across time and space, language barriers, and cultures allowing them to create transcendent works that resonate with many individuals. Two poets whose works incorporate the theme of death are Dylan Thomas (1914 1953), a Welsh poet and writer, and Pablo Neruda (1904 1973), a Chilean poet, diplomat, and politician. Thomas s Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, one of his most famous poems, focuses on Thomas s struggle to come to terms with his father s death. Neruda s poem, The Dead Woman focuses on the poets resolve to overcome the loss of the woman he loves. Both Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night and The Dead Woman demonstrate how each poet views death and how he is able to come to terms with the loss of a loved one. Money Can t Buy Happiness A 2010 study conducted by Princeton University s Center For Health and Well Being threatens to discredit the age old adage that money can t buy happiness because, as it turns out, money can buy happiness...at least to an extent. The study isolated a so called happiness benchmark for annual income, at or above which research subjects reported higher levels of overall life satisfaction. A possible ramification of the study is that because certain groups of people have more difficulty finding and maintaining job positions that provide an adequate salary, they are much more likely to experience lower overall life satisfaction, and by extension happiness, purely as a result of their heritage or upbringing. Although a substantial income alone cannot make you happier on a day to day basis, those able to attain an annual income of $75,000+ are generally more satisfied with their lives altogether. The Price of Happiness: $75,000? This can be in the form of e commerce websites that offer sale transactions, customer service websites, intranets and enterprise portals, extranets and supply chains, and lastly, IP electronic data interchange. The use of these different networks and technologies all businesses to improve, enable, enhance, invent, or transform a business process. Basically, technology helps build and manage relationships within a business to potentially transform a firm into a networked entity with seamless supply chains and superior value creation processes. The article brings to some interesting views on the futures of colleges and the experience that goes along with that first important step into adulthood. He brings some serious points to the argument. First, the traditional college experience versus an online college experience. Next, the quality of the online course information, as well as, having a tenured professor or an average non degreed person teaching/monitoring a course. Then, he asks the question Will employers take a person with an online degree just as serious as a traditional means degree? Will they hold the same water so to speak? The challenge for the profession is to offer a balance of services that are sound, that eventually will be profitable, and that satisfy the needs of e commerce and of society at large. As specific new offerings like online tax consulting, and remote auditing evolve, demand for the electronic version of traditional services, such as accounting/bookkeeping services on the net will follow (Kogan, Sudit, Vasarhelyi. 2009). With these challenges to accountants, they will have to change their current methods of calculating, writing, storing, and talking to the client from on paper and in person to all done over the computer and internet. Historically, accounting was performed in columned ledger books and required hours to record relevant information. Each transaction was recorded in daily activity, then summarized into monthly results and quarterly, annual and comparative reports. One or more clerks were responsible for recording this data legibly by hand, many using ink pens that would lead to reworking a page with too many accidental ink blots. Those using pencils and erasers had some flexibility and could then ink over final reports, making the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Plot Development in Amy Tan s The Joy Luck Club Many times plot development is thought of as a key detail in keeping a story organized, while others would say that plot structure tends to add too much order to a piece of work and hinder the reader from exploring true creativity. A great example of these two contrasting ideas is illustrated in Amy Tan s well known novel The Joy Luck Club. Although some could argue that there is no definite plot structure portrayed at all within the book, this is not true. A slight plot lies within each individual short story. While there might not be an overall rising and falling action connected throughout the novel, an exposition, climax, and resolution are clearly illustrated in each story. Typically, the exposition provides background information and introduces the reader to what the story will be about. An example of this would be in the beginning of the story, Two Kinds , when Jing Mei Woo says, My mother believed you could be anything you wanted to be in America...my mother told me when I was nine (Tan 132). In this quote Jing Mei Woo informs the reader on how her mother would always tell her that America is the land of opportunity, and also gives the reader a key idea that follows her throughout much of her life. This idea helps to explain many of Jing Mei s actions. On the other hand, this story is placed towards the middle of the novel, meaning this story should begin to set up for the climax of the over all novel. For example, this story is about her Jing Mei Woo s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I can pass hours away sitting in a coffee shop in a tall seat next to the window, watching the beauties pass, seeing my reflection against them even more bloated and lumpy than normal. Some of them notice me. Most of them don t. It doesn t matter. Like I said, New York is a large city, I ll never see them again. And anyway, I m sure they re used to people staring. How could they not be, they draw people with their large, black rimmed eyes and lean figures and cutting jawbones like dogs to the enticing smell of meat. I am just another dog, one they will forget in moments. And when the sun sets, and the beautiful people fade away and the crowd becomes faceless and intoxicated, that s when I leave, and where I stay until the sun rises, becoming one with the pulse and throb of the mass. Promising myself that the next day, yes, the next day, I ll get a job, ignore the cold, gorgeous people, succeed even with my lumps, and papery skin, and eyes that are just a little too far apart. And the next day, with my headache, I return. Today is yesterday and the day before. The sun is especially bright now, almost passive aggressively bright, shining smugly through the haze that buries the city, bouncing into the small cafe in which I spend most of my time. It s supposed to be homey, with nearly dead plants hanging skeletal by the windows and overstuffed couches near a coffee table. I sit in the uncomfortable seat that s almost comically tall, at the only table next to a window. The barista Ellen is chatting happily with a customer, she barely notices me anymore. The main objective is to determine the optimal rotor voltage to extract certain active and reactive power from the DFIG over wide ranges of wind speed. Teaching Learning Based Optimization (TLBO) algorithm is a new heuristic optimization technique, used to obtain the optimum rotor voltages to achieve reference active and reactive powers overall operating points. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) controller is used as an adaptive controller to predict the value of rotor voltage for all operating points. The ideal power curve of a 2 MW wind turbine has been estimated to design the active power controller. The stator reactive power control capability with the range of В±1.6 MVAR is developed. With the proposed control strategy, the DFIG based wind farmprovides Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), fully active and reactive powers control. This is why the role of the capital market as agent of growth and development is very important, thus this role has been subject of concern and has drawn comments from different fora. It is under this background this study was proposed, to further clarify the symbiotic relationship between the capital market and economic development. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM Economic advancement and allocation of the aggregate investment in an economy for production of goods and services are too prominent factors in our national development. The importance of capital market can be ascertained from the increasing emphasis and recognition accorded to investment as veritable instruments of development by policy makers in Nigeria and the world over. Capital mobilisation and allocation are very essential if the regular features of poor infrastructural facilities (i.e. bad roads/poor road networks, lack of electricity, water, indecent accommodation, inadequate educational institutions, lack of health centres and poor ... • 51. Nationalism And Imperialism Ananya Chilakamarthi World Studies Ms. Morgan Mr. Kakes 8 December 2017 Imperialism Imperialism is the act of dominating a society or a group. It involves the subjugation of a population. It dictates the political and economic advantage over a land and the indigenous people they control. A society is introduced to concepts of industrialization and they are pressured or forced to imitate the culture of the industrialized country so that they can reach civilization. Since the industrial revolution had taken place, the Europeans were in need of more natural resources. The Europeans wanted economic expansion because they were facing overproduction and underconsumption. Social Darwinism was another factor that led the colonization. Imperialism was helpful to a country but also had been very detrimental to the cultures inner mentality by removing previous traditions that were practiced and replacing it with the colonizers traditions. In the book, Nectar in a Sieve it is shown how many native traditions were gradually torn away from India because of the invasive British rule. The story focuses on a poor woman, Rukmani (Ruku), as well as her friends and family, as India goes through this change. The characters suffer crushing poverty. They re stripped of their lives in the face of huge global changes that have left them behind. Imperialism reflects dominance as it shows tremendous inequalities between nations. Imperialists will imperialize a country to gain raw materials for their own benefit. There was tremendous demand in Europe for Chinese tea, silks, and porcelain pottery, but there was correspondingly little demand in China for Europe s manufactured goods and other trade items. Consequently, Europeans had to pay for Chinese products with gold or silver. The opium trade, which created a steady demand among Chinese addicts for opium exported by the West, solved this chronic trade imbalance. Levels of opium addiction grew so high that it began to affect the Chinese troops and the official classes. The efforts of the Qing dynasty to enforce the opium restrictions resulted in two armed conflicts between China and the West, known as the Opium Wars, both of which China lost and this resulted in various measures ... Satire In Candide Analysis Tim Cronin French Literature 026 Prof. Degroult Voltaire s Criticism of Enlightened Beliefs Through The Eyes of Candide Voltaire, one the Enlightenment s greatest leaders was well known for his use of satire to expose and criticize vices of the 18th century. Through his writing, Voltairesuccessfully uses irony and parody as a means to satirize what he believes is wrong with 18th century life. In his novel Candide, Voltaire focuses on many topics, specifically the pitfalls and dangers of optimism, the hypocrisy of the Catholic Church, and political injustice. Although humorous, the irony and parody that exists in the novel serve the purpose of exposing the Enlightenment s widely accepted views of political, philosophical, and religious practices through the eyes of Candide. Voltaire had an appreciation for the more liberal and free societies which he witnessed in Britain. He believed that the political system in France was corrupt and favored the aristocracy while undermining commoner s rights. In Candide, Voltaire parodies the Enlightenment s magnificent view of lords as he describes the Baron of Westphalia: The Baron was one of the most powerful lords in Westphalia, for his castle had not only a gate, but even windows, and his great hall was hung with tapestry. He used to hunt with his mastiffs and spaniels instead of greyhounds; his groom served him for huntsman; and the parson of the parish officiated as his grand almoner. They called ... • 53. College Debt And Student Completion And Attendance Thalia Arreola Cynthia Burns English 102 20 April 2015 College Debt and Student Completion and Attendance In mid 2010 higher education debt surpassed credit card debt at $830 billon dollars(Clemmitt 877 900). Debt has become an increasing problem for students who want to attend college. As more students try to further their education, tuition rises and so does the amount of loans taken out each year. According to Belkin, Students attending public four year institutions this academic year are paying an average of $12,620, up $220 from last year, for tuition, room and board, meaning that tuition is only growing not decreasing from previous years(Belkin n.p.). Many people debate over whether they should attend college and be in debt or if they should get a job somewhere that allows them to live a comfortable life debt free. Two thirds of college graduates have to take out loans in order to get through college(Dwyer, McCloud, Hodson 1133 1155). Many people question, Does rising college debt limit who attends and completes college? , while many people have different opinions on this particular subject, I believe that it depends on the student and their situation if college debt limits who attends and completes college because it depends on their financial stability, it depends on if they are borrowing the right amount and it depends on if their degree provides them with the means to pay back their loans, however, many people would disagree with me and say that yes, college ...
