Everyday people rely on memory. Remembering to set your clock the night before, the routine you

remembering something as simple as making a sandwich. None of this is possible without memory.
Memory is the ability to be able to mentally remember and manipulate information. Memorycan be
affected by strong emotions, injuries and diseases. There are different types of memory; sensory,
short term, and long term memory. Sensory memory is sensory information coming at you that
you can be retained for a few milliseconds. It s the shortest memory out of the three and is held
just long enough to move to short term memory. In sensory memory, we have iconic (visual) and
echoic (auditory) memory. Iconic memory is the visual memory one sees and retains. When
looking at objects, faces, words, or numbers your brain may choose to keep some information and
move it to short term memory. When you are exposed visually to something, majority of the time
its lost within 500milliseconds. Negative effects can cause sensory memory capacity to decrease
but the precision of what is seen increases (Spachtholz, Kuhbandner, Pekrun, 2014.) When exposed
to negative sensory, what you can remember is decreased but the detail of what you remember is
more accurate.
Echoic memory is a sensory memory that is specific to receiving auditory information. Majority

The practises, beliefs and values of Christianity and Islam have an impact on Australia society;
however, the media exploits the perceived tension between the two groups which has led to
discrimination and violence. Over many years the way of which an individual lives their life has
been shown to be affected by the religionof which they follow. This affects the way of life
throughout the community surrounding these people, as well as having an impact on the social

This defining change in the education system over the last 20 years, has been due to the
modification of the Christian schools throughout Australia (ABC, 2010). This has an influence on
the culture of Australia as it means that this percentage of students have a background of which
religion was required throughout their life, therefore the students learn Christian morals and values.
This may shape the way they live their adult lives in terms of who they vote for, and how they
spend their money as well as the fact that it means that they know the background of Christianity,
having an impact on them and society. Christianity also has a major effect on the laws throughout
Australia, for example a variety of laws have been made in relation to the Ten Commandments.
Similarities are found between the commandments which state that one should not kill, steal or bear

Avoidance conditioning is associated with the concept of negative reinforcement. In fact negative
reinforcement contributes to an escape behavior initially and secondly to the avoidance behavior.
The escape behavior of an organism occurs when the organism performs an action that terminates
the aversive stimulus that it is receiving at the current moment in time. More importantly, the
avoidance conditioning occurs when a warning stimulus indicates to an organism that a particular
aversive event is present and allows the organism time to actively participate in a certain behavior
