2) Due to China's one-child policy, the country faces a declining population and aging workforce. Shanghai Electric addresses this by sourcing labor locally in other countries through contractors to avoid transferring labor from China.
3) For projects using an Engineering, Procurement and Construction model, Shanghai Electric often partners with local companies who provide labor while Shanghai Electric focuses on engineering. These strategies allow the company to effectively address global labor issues.

The document discusses how the media product represents various social groups through the opening sequence. It represents working-class youth through stereotypical appearances like tracksuits and caps in deprived areas dominated by poverty. It mainly represents males, as social realist films with crime themes are commonly dominated by male characters portraying a "laddish" subculture. It also represents ethnic minority social groups through images of black and Asian youth, similar to scenes in the film "Kidulthood".

The document discusses three documentaries that are similar in style and approach to the documentary being produced called "The English Village". It summarizes techniques used in "Bob Dylan: Don't Look Back" including close-ups, zooms, and handheld camerawork that make the audience feel present. It also notes that "The English Church" uses establishing shots, voiceover, and contrasting imagery. The document concludes that the filmmakers will use a mixture of these techniques seen in the example documentaries to create a sense of distance and presence in their participatory documentary.
Mainstreaming Open Educational Practice in a Research University: Prospects a...Liz Masterman
This document summarizes a study on mainstreaming open educational practice at a research university. The study used interviews and frameworks of openness to examine academics' recognition of open values, the influence of disciplines and organizational culture on teaching practices, and what constitutes optimal engagement with open education. Key findings included that research-informed teaching was well-suited to open practices by openly sharing research outputs and insights. However, barriers included the privileging of research over teaching at research universities. The conclusion discussed balancing open outreach with use of open educational resources, reciprocity, and fitting open approaches to institutional objectives of equipping students for the future.

Enterprise Lean is a coordinated state government program direct.docxkhanpaulita
Enterprise Lean is a coordinated state government program directed through the Department of Administration. The Enterprise Lean Program is an ambitious effort to reform and reshape state government operations into those that are nimble, embrace change, and continuously improve. In addition, the Governor, has set forth several specific objectives for the Enterprise Lean effort.
They are:
1. Creating “one stop shop” opportunities for easier access to government services;
2. Increasing secure and effective electronic delivery of government services;
3. Streamlining common functions and activities;
4. Saving money through more efficient and effective service delivery.
The programs focus is to improve organizational performance through Lean thinking, concepts, tools, and methods.
You are tasked to lead this effort. You find several examples of waste in state government and you proceed to categorize them as follows:
Types of Waste and Examples
1. Defects - Example - Incorrect data entry
2. Overproduction - Example - Preparing extra report; reports not acted upon; multiple copies in data storage
3. Transportation - Example - Extra Steps in processes – distances traveled
4. Movement - Example - Extra steps; extra data entry
5. Waiting - Example - Processing monthly or in batches
6. Overprocessing - Example - Extra sign-offs and hand-offs of work
7. Inventory - Example - Transactions not processed
8. Underutilized Resources - Example -People doing unchallenging work
Using this scenario please answer the following questions:
1. What are three (3) Lean leadership challenges faced by you as the Lean Enterprise Program leader? List and describe each one.
2. How would you overcome each of these challenges? What would you do? Describe your method(s).
3. Select two of the types of waste from the list. What Lean tools (i.e. Kaizen events, 5S, Kanban) would you deploy to address the wastes you have selected? Explain why you selected the particular tool. Describe how you might engage the employees in understanding the use, and importance, of the tool.
Please see the attached rubric on how to do this, please follow that

Combined Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) Vessel List.Christina Parmionova
The best available, up-to-date information on all fishing and related vessels that appear on the illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing vessel lists published by Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) and related organisations. The aim of the site is to improve the effectiveness of the original IUU lists as a tool for a wide variety of stakeholders to better understand and combat illegal fishing and broader fisheries crime.
To date, the following regional organisations maintain or share lists of vessels that have been found to carry out or support IUU fishing within their own or adjacent convention areas and/or species of competence:
Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)
Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)
General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)
Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC)
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)
Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC)
Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO)
North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC)
North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC)
South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO)
South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO)
Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA)
Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC)
The Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List merges all these sources into one list that provides a single reference point to identify whether a vessel is currently IUU listed. Vessels that have been IUU listed in the past and subsequently delisted (for example because of a change in ownership, or because the vessel is no longer in service) are also retained on the site, so that the site contains a full historic record of IUU listed fishing vessels.
Unlike the IUU lists published on individual RFMO websites, which may update vessel details infrequently or not at all, the Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List is kept up to date with the best available information regarding changes to vessel identity, flag state, ownership, location, and operations.

You can’t do everything. You can’t just add new comm channels without eliminating others. SSA killed paper statements. All banks have. Why haven’t you?
Do we need the same amount of space? GSA cut space in half & went to hoteling. Also same agencies adding co-working areas

Fire B team / Buyouts

Often we do process for process sake. For years, govt agencies have wasted countless $ re-doing C&A on systems from same vendors. FedRamp hopes to solve this
Any one still have a process like this? In an old job, we had the red folder process where he had to print copy of a document and circulate it through 10 people manually for signatures before approved
Small, open systems not massive complex procurements
Shared services – still stuck in silos. Not leverageing
Instead of one big procurement, lots of smaller ones
