A Study On Protein Deficiencies
Protein deficiencies are commonly observed in older adults, leading to decreased levels of physical
activity. Nutritional interventions with whey protein could improve these muscle parameters. Both
young and older D. melanogaster were fed a whey protein diet. Compared to the younger D.
melanogaster, the older population showed improved musclepower, grip strength and less muscle
fatigue. The climbing assay results were statistically significant, whereas the flying assay results
were not significant, but borderline. As such, the possibility of detecting a statistically significant
difference for the flying assay results cannot be dismissed, if a greater number of repetitions were
conducted. The younger D. melanogaster population did not... Show more content on

Whey protein is digested quickly because it is a leucine rich protein, and has a track record in
being more successful in synthesizing muscle protein in older populations than casein protein
which is digested more slowly (van Dijk et. al. 2016). Whey protein is given to D. melanogaster
flies rather than hemp or soy protein, because soy protein and hemp proteins are plant based
proteins while whey protein is from cows. Animal based proteins are easier to digest compared to
plant based proteins.
The study investigated the impacts of whey protein on two population groups that consisted of
young and old population of D. melanogaster because muscle damage could be simulated by age.
As people grow older, more damage in muscles occurs, and whey protein is expected to have a
greater effect. This effect is investigated in this experiment with D. melanogaster, where whey
protein improves muscle activity in older D. melanogaster.
D. melanogaster is a model organism in this experiment. A model organism is an organism which
is easy to study because it is cheap, reproduces easily and quickly, and the workings of it can lead
us to understand how other organisms work. By giving whey protein supplements to D.
melanogaster and observing the effects, it can provide understanding as to how a similar amount of
whey protein can affect humans. Of

Why America Is A Great Nation
Why do I believe America is a great nation? America s greatness comes from our freedom, our
people, and our First Amendment Rights of religion, speech, press and assembly. Freedom is an
inalienable right that many people of the U.S. take for granted. Our civil rights are part of our
freedom. People that invade upon our rights are punished. The severity of this punishment
depends upon how harshly our rights are violated. And, although freedom doesn t come with
guarantees of a perfect life, we are all free to choose our own destinies. America is the greatest
most powerful country in the world, not just because of our army but because of the values of our
people. (President Barrack Obama,2014, p.1). President Obama says that we the American

Future Neonatal Nurses
Love Future Neonatal Nurses
Goals today keep the tiny humans; big journeys begin with small steps. However, the important
thing is to be able at any moment to sacrifice and serve the ones that need it the most. It is not how
much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. These individuals are the lucky stars that
these cutting edge facilities exist, having a premature baby is getting one of God s miracles in the
middle of their creation, one of the wonderful moments in our lives are allowing our tiny patients to
leave their footprint on our heart. Neonatal have involve light years since they first open their

( Rasmussen College ). Most neonatal nurses work in a typical hospital environment usually in the
neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or maternity ward. ( Rasmussen College ). However, not all
neonatal nurses work in such intense settings. Some care for healthy babies in mother baby
nurseries, and others work in clinics or home healthcare to provide follow up care for infants. (
Rasmussen College ). Neonatal nurse will have a variety of job duties throughout the day. They
may do anything from resuscitating infants and administering medication to helping a new mom
get started breastfeeding. ( Rasmussen College ). Caring for sick babies and offering support to
their families is rewarding in itself. However, a neonatal nursing career offers benefits beyond the
fulfilling job of patient care. One reason why you should consider a career in neonatal nursing is
that it will give you an opportunity to help newborn babies. Premature or underweight babies
need monitoring and special care all the time, having this field of profession is rewarding if you
love babies. Nonetheless, you have to undergo training since babies often face health risks that
require experienced care. ( Rasmussen College ). If you want to pursue a career in neonatal
nursing, you need to put in mind that your responsibilities are far beyond taking care of the child.
Rather, you have an obligation to provide information; guidance and support to parents of the
infants under your care take more than love of infants to succeed in this

How Did The Reconstruction Era Affect America Today
The reconstruction era was a time that then affected America in positive facets and negative aspects
as well, and still affects America today. Thanks to the reconstruction era, there are several
implementations that geared the world on the path in which it is today. Had it not been for some of
the laws that were set in place African Americans may have not had many of the opportunities that
were presented during the reconstruction period, therefore the years of oppression and cruelty
might still be present. Arguably one of the greatest contributions during the reconstruction era was
the thirteenth amendment. This is the amendment that formally abolished the cruel and unjust acts
of slavery in 1865. The thirteenth amendment states Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude,
except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist
within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction (Primary documents in American
History). The ratification came eight months after the end of the war, but it represented the
culmination of the struggle against slavery. When the war began, some in the North were against
fighting what they saw as a crusade to end slavery. Although many northern Democrats and
conservative Republicans were opposed to slavery s expansion, they were ambivalent about
outlawing the institution entirely (13th amendment ratified). This statement is proof that although
the North was opposed to slavery they were not

Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Are Digital Patient Records
Electronic health records (EHR) are digital patient records whose interoperable and sharable use
can lead to improved safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and timeliness of care. The value of EHR is
leading to more efforts into integrating medical organizations with the rest of the health care system
to maximize patient benefits and improve transitions of care. Highlighting the case for EHR to
health care stakeholders, such as organizations, organizational managers, and practitioners, will
help contribute towards the integration above, in the process also supporting policies aimed to
introduce EHR in healthcare. The objective of the policy brief is to demonstrate the value of EHR
in promoting positive transitions of care and minimizing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The rationale for the visits arises from exacerbation of her mild heart failure condition, with two of
such ED visits resulting in hospitalization. Upon receiving discharge instructions, the patient ably
repeats them accurately, but then does not follow through with such instructions after returning
home. Her condition deteriorates before the clinicians realize that she has memory impairment. In
such a case, the care services provided to the patient would be more efficient in case the mental
health context would have been integrated with the rest of the health care system through EHR.
The case above demonstrates the importance of involving health care services in EHR alongside
other health care settings. Evidence for Expanding Electronic Health Records to Health Care The
benefits of embracing EHR are underscored by scholarly findings of the implications of EHR.
Tidwell, Wolfberg, and Corrigan (2016) explored the impacts of implementing low cost EHR as an
electronic practice management system on care coordination and financial measures. The scholars
collected data from a small hospital with six physicians and six midwives handling 150 daily visits,
making measurements at baseline and after implementing a cloud based EHR system. The findings
indicated that application of the EHR system led to improved care coordination within the practice
and with other Independent Physician Association (IPA) members. Further, EHR implementation
was associated

Scouts Journey to Womanhood Essay
As girls grow in life, they mature and change into women. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, by
Harper Lee, Scout, the main character, begins to mature into a woman. In the beginning of the
book, she is a tomboy who cannot wait to pick a fistfight with anyone, but at the end, she lowers her
fists because her father, Atticus, tells her not to fight. Scouts views of womanhood, influenced by
how Aunt Alexandra, Miss Maudie, and Calpurniaact, make her think more about becoming a
woman and less of a tomboy.
In the beginning of the book, Scout is a tomboy. She acts, dresses, and walks like a boy because
when she was little her mom died, leaving her in a house with two men, Jem and Atticus. Scout has
a lot of masculine influence but no ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a last resort, she gets Atticus to talk to her and Jem.
She asked me to tell you you must try to behave like the little lady and gentleman that you are.
She wants to talk to you about the family and what it s meant to Maycomb County though the
years, so you ll have some idea of who you are, so you might be moved to behave accordingly. (133)
Aunt Alexandra is mad at Atticus for defending Tom in the trial because it does not look good for
the family name. At the tea party Scout s views on Aunt Alexandra change, When she had them on
the road, Aunt Alexandra stepped back. She gave Miss Maudie a look of pure gratitude, and I
wondered at the world of women. Miss Maudie and Aunt Alexandra had never been especially
clock and here was Aunty silently thanking her for something (233). Scout respects Aunt Alexandra
a lot more after this scene happens; she sees that womanhood is not exactly how she imagines it
and that it might not be that bad after all.
Aunt Alexandra is a total opposite of Miss Maudie, the kind woman who lives across the street,
and is always there for Scout to talk to. She does not judge people based on what she hears from
the other women in town, but rather simply lives her life maintaining a broad minded view about
the trial and many other things. She calls

Essay about George Babbitt of Sinclair Lewis Babbitt
George Babbitt: Image of a Presbyterian
In Babbitt, Sinclair Lewis portrays religion as a corrupt business. In fact, he emphasizes this by
focusing on his main character George Babbitt. George Babbitt is characterized as a businessman
in Zenith. He is a man preoccupied about his reputation and his image before the main leaders of
the town he lives in. Lewis creates a hypocritical figure for Babbitt through his reasons for being a
Presbyterian. He says that if you were to question Babbitt about his religion he would say, My
religion is to serve my fellow men, to honor my brother as myself, and to do my bit to make life
happier for one and for all (199). Of course, if you heard this from Babbitt you would ... Show more

His participation within his religious denomination was his stepping stool. Chum Frink and
Mr.Eathorne accepted Babbitt because of his proposals for the Sunday School. He wanted to divide
the school into four armies with militaristic characteristics. This would help the children feel as if
they were doing something worthy. Secondly, he insisted on improvement of the advertising
committee (Lewis 207). This goes to show you how businesslike the Sunday School was becoming.
Babbitt was only thinking of business morals and forgetting the religious morals.
Lewis also draws an image of George Babbitt s sanctimoniousness through his idea of Hell. We
see Babbitt s hypocrisy when he says, if one was a Bad Man, that is, if he murdered or
committed burglary or used cocaine or had mistresses or sold non existent real estate, he would
be punished (199). Notice how everything Babbitt mentions at the time is something he has not
done, however as he continues to live his life he eventually pulls a crooked real estate deal and
begins to cheat on his wife, Myra. Babbitt s flirtatious character is seen when he dates several
women and is careless because of his wife s absence. Lewis practically points out Babbitt s
hypocrisy through his failure to comply with his own criteria of who does and who does not go to
Hell.
Lewis portrays the Presbyterian Church

A Report into Consumer Behavioural Theory and its Implications for Benecol s Marketing Strategy
Executive Summary * Understanding consumer behaviour allows us to engage more effectively

and their motivation for purchasing Benecol or alternative products. * Giving Value to a product

However, the value the product gives to the consumer from a marketing perspective will be
discussed in greater details through other behavioural theories as the above chart is too rudimentary
to give explicit argument to Benecol s potential without more exploration.
Information Processing
Something highly intrinsic to the product value of Benecol is the emphasis on being the only range
of foods to contain Plant Stanol Ester, a unique cholesterol lowering ingredient. (Rasio Plc., 2011).
Getting this information to the public through advertising happens through the brand website, but
on television the advertising is focused on basic prompts that will motivate the audience into
believing in the benefits of using the product. One example is the latest UK advert which places
stress on the convenience of the product with a line in fairly small print about the plant stanol ester
underneath the visual of how easy it can be to help lower cholesterol. The information of stanols is
considered secondary in marketing the convenience product and therefore is only likely absorbed
by those already interested in the product or the advertising.
Dissonance
This theory is based on a consumer s cognitive struggle where two beliefs that are reasoned to be
true are not consistent. This process of a cognitive clash brings about a motivation to come to a
positive conclusion where a psychological compromise can occur to bring

How Did The British Constitution Change
Contrary to what Jowell and Oliver wrote, the British constitution is arguably not like most
constitutions . This is because it has changed, and continues to change, far more than other
constitutions, and certainly has since 1997. Primarily this is due to its non entrenched quality
where no special procedure is required for modification of the constitution(http://
www.constitutionnet.org/what entrenchment) where, in the UK, constitutional changes only
requires a simple majority in the Houses, yet an entrenched constitution, such as the US require a
supermajority for constitutional changes. This means that in the UK a majority government has the
ability to amend the constitution passing simple legislation, providing the conditions for lots... Show

The Threat of Catheter-Related Infections
Clinical problem: Catheter related infections pose a detrimental threat to adult patients in intensive
care units with a central line. Effects of an infection include: an increase in the patients length of
hospital stay, morbidity and mortality rates, and hospital readmission rates.
Objective: To determine if the evidence based practice interventions studied and published can help
to decrease the rate of infection occurring in central lines.
Data sources: The search engine that was used to find three randomized controlled trial articles and
support my PICOT question was PubMed. Key terms that were used to search for them included
intensive care unit infections, chlorhexidine dressings, antiseptic solutions, and prevention methods
for catheter related infections. A clinical guideline for the prevention of intravascular catheter
related infection was retrieved from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
Results: The clinical guideline from the AHRQ encouraged interventions like the chlorhexidine
impregnated sponge, antiseptic solution, and other precautious measures in order to reduce catheter
related infections. The research completed by Atahan and colleagues (2012), Timsit and colleagues
(2012), and Timsit and colleagues (2009) concluded that the use of 2% chlorhexidine gel tegaderm

This essay will outline an introduction to the premature years of motion pictures and
developments that helped shape cinema as we know it today. This paper will explore the roles of

The notion of filmmaking at this age was merely to document real life, and this novelty of seeing a
presentation of ?reality? captivated the audience of its era. However, these films showed movement
toward camera from right to left, which later became a standard technique for staging action for the
next few years (http://www.earlycinema.com/atoz/index.html). Thus, the Lumiere brothers?
pioneered not just the technical attributes of the camera but also its artistic attributes, creating a
dialogue of realism (Lumiere, 1895:302).
This novelty of cinema, and Lumiere brothers? short films fascinated a man named Melies, who
was later to further develop this medium. In 1896 Melies bought his first camera and began

His first films were clear cut just demonstrated life events and were one reel or shot usually about a

P1 Human Rights
The phrase Human Rights refers to standard rights of all individuals, regardless of their nationality,
race, religion, ethnicity or gender and are viewed as moral rights. Moral rights are a natural right
that exists from birth, apply to everyone and universal, irrespective of which society someone lives
in. These rightscannot be given up or taken away. To have rights implies that others have
obligations. The government is required to respect and protect human rights. Failure by the
government to do so would be a violation of human rights. In contrast to moral rights, legal rights
are different as they are created by governments, apply only to some people in society, are not
universal and can be given up or altered.
The principle of universal rights relevant to everyone was first recognised by a document produced
by the United Nations, known as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights . The document was
first signed in December 1948 with the intention of improving human rights.

Good Guys and Bad Guys Jimmy Conway and Sam Ace Rothstein, two of the most charismatic
characters in their respective films, are a lot more alike than they seem. Without actually analyzing
and going in depth with both characters, you could see why they both come off more different
than alike. First off, and a huge noticeable difference, is Jimmy s love life compared to Sam s love
life. Jimmy has no attachments to the ladies. Although the real James Conway was married, the
character portrayed by Robert De Niro was not. Portraying no love life in the film Goodfellas
really made Conway stand out from all the other supporting characters. Sam, on the other hand,
had Ginger. Ginger used up Sam like he was a human ATM machine and took advantage of every
bit of generosity Sam had in him. During the last act of the movie when Sam is throwing Ginger s

the betrayal he had experienced. This scene was the perfect example of a falling out between ...

Examples Of Trickery In Much A Do About Nothing
Much A Do About Trickery and Deceit In the play Much A Do About Nothing by William
Shakespeare, trickery and deceit are main themes. These two themes catch an audience s
attention, keep them entertained and what not. There are many examples actually that show
how trickery and deception are used. Many of the characters in Much A Do About Nothing show
this. For example, Benedick, Beatrice, Don Pedro, Borachio, Claudio and more... Let s not forget
when Don Pedro tells Claudio he ll woo Hero for Claudio, when Claudio and Don Pedro tend to
shame Hero for supposedly not being a virgin, or even Benedick and Beatrice s feelings and
attitudes toward each other. There are many other examples but those are one of the main one s.
Now when Don Pedro tells Claudio that he ll woo Hero for Claudio to marry her, trickery is being
used in this scene, as well as deception. He was tricking her to believe that Don Pedro himself has
feelings for Hero. If I can cross him in any way, I bless myself in every way. You are both sure, and

Violence includes: Murder, Suicide, Blasphemy, Sodomy, and Usury. Violence takes on three
forms according its victim: other people (one s neighbor), oneself, or God. Those prone to doing
violence against other people or their property murderers and bandits inhabit the first ring inside
the seventh circle, a river of blood Those who also carry out an act of violence against
themselves or their own property suicides and squanderers (self destructive) inhabit the second
ring, a horrid forest . The third ring which lies between the first two rings is a barren plain of
sand ablazed by giling of fire that torment three separate groups of violent offenders against God:
those who offend God directly. While blasphemers: God s offspring sodomites are those who

Cruel Intentions Movie Review
In the film Cruel Intentions, Kathryn Merteuil is portrayed as a manipulative mastermind, who
suffers from the addiction of cocaine. She is prideful of herself on destroying the lives of others
while having the benefit of meeting her own needs. Kathryn comes from a wealthy family. She
portrays herself differently while being in the public eyes; a popular student, a devoted Christian
and a student body president at her prestige s school. She comes off as a lady with moral integrity.
However, Sebastian her stepbrother is the only one who sees past Kathryn s deception and in fact
knows that she s a troublemaker. Throughout the film Kathryn seem have been sufferingfrom a
borderline personality disorder.
I believe criterion 1 is met because she believes that she and her brother are two of a kind but
realistically they are not. For example, at the beginning of the movie, she and her brother are
manipulative and conspire to cruel intentions between seduction and betrayal. They made a bet in
which Sebastian will seduce a virgin name Annette and if Sebastian fails to do so, he will lose his
most valuable possession, his car. And if he succeeds, he would have the pleasure the pleasure to
sleep with Kathryn in whom he has wanted since the day their parents married. Secondly, she can t
seem to have a functional intimate relationship with anyone. As if she only had one purpose for
every person she ran across and that would be sex.
I believe criterion 2 is met because Kathryn has an

Macbeth s Code Of Manliness
The Code of Manliness provides a theme that adds context and motivation to the play and its
characters. It bridges the fine line between manliness and monstrosity, as well as providing a basis
for men to prove their worth. In Macbeth, this code would be prevalent throughout all five acts in
various ways. In Act I, the code provides the context for which Macbethearns his new title, Thane
of Cawdor, since he proved his worth in battle and slew many men, and why he is so ambitious. In
Act II, Macbeth had his manhood insulted by his wife when he tried to back out of the
assassination attempt. This forces his decision to go through with the plan, as he cannot allow his
masculinity to be slighted. In Act III, Macduff goes to England to try

The O.J Simpson Trial
The American public has always been fascinated by tragedy. Why? It s in our human nature, as
we tend to gravitate towards looking upon other people s mistakes or failures as if it were as
precious and watchable as someone s victories. Add in an event so tragic being televised, and you
have yourself a hit with everyday U.S citizens. The O.J Simpson Trial was a turning point in not
only the American judicial system, but it completely changed the thoughts that there was no more
racial division in our country. People suddenly viewed our court system as a broken, failed section
of our government due to the outcome of the trial. Orenthal James O.J. Simpson was born on July

Both sides gave thorough arguments, Simpson s team stating there was no way he could have
committed the crime with his arthritis and old football injuries ( The Trial ). Some of the
evidence brought to the case was a black, bloodied glove found at the scene, which had
obviously been used by the murderer. The match to the glove was indeed found outside of
Simpson s residence at the time, but there was controversy of whether or not it had indeed been
used by Simpson or the LAPD had planted it there to frame him just because he was a black
man. The glove was on of the key points in the trial, one of the prosecutors asked Simpson to try
on the glove in front of the jury, but Simpson had a hard time, struggling to put the glove on (
The Trial ). Johnnie Cochran coming up with the famous line, If it doesn t fit, you must acquit.
Later, although it turned out there may have been reasons why indeed the glove didn t fit,
because it may have shrunk from the blood it had been soaked in. Over 99 days of the trial, the
prosecution alone put 72 witnesses on the stand, including Brown s family all stating Simpson had
a motive to kill her. Another source of evidence brought forward was a match of a blood sample
found at the crime scene had belonged to Simpson. The next part of the trial, the defense had

Soil Erosion
What is soil erosion? Soil erosion is a natural process, occurring over geological time, and indeed
it is a process that is essential for soil formation in the first place. With respect to soil degradation,
most concerns about erosion are related to accelerated erosion, where the natural rate has been
significantly increased mostly by human activity. Soilerosionby water is a widespread problem
throughout Europe. Soil is naturally removed by the action of water or wind: such background
(or geological ) soil erosion has been occurring for some 450 million years, since the first land
plants formed the first soil. Even before this, natural processes moved loose rock, or regolith, off

Diffuse overland flow. Note the raindrop impacts
Firstly, if rain arrives too quickly (i.e. with too high an intensity) for it to infiltrate: the runoff
which results is then known as infiltration excess runoff, or Hortonian runoff. Secondly, runoff
may occur if the soil has already absorbed all the water it can hold (i.e. because it is fully
saturated, or if the soil is frozen). Runoff which results from this situation is known as saturation
excess runoff. As runoff moves downhill, it is at first a thin diffuse film of water which has lost
virtually all the kinetic energy which it possessed as falling rain. Thus it moves only slowly, has a
low flow power, and is generally incapable of detaching or transporting soil particles.
The micro topography (i.e. small scale pattern of irregularities) of the soil s surface tends to
cause this overland flow to concentrate in closed depressions, which slowly fill: this is known as
detention storage or ponding . Both the flowing water, and the water in detention storage, protect
the soil from raindrop impact, so that rainsplash redistribution usually decreases over time within a
storm, as the depth of surface water increases. There are, however, complex interactions between
rainsplash and overland flow. If rain continues, the increasing depth of water will eventually
overtop the micro topographic depressions. Overland flow that is released in this way is likely to
flow downhill more quickly and

Analysis Of Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night By Dylan...
The twentieth century was a period were the Aesthetic movement helped widen the breach
between writers and the general public (Greenblatt 959). One of the major authors of the
Twentieth century was Dylan Thomas. Thomas was born in 1914 in Swansea, Wales. At the age
of sixteen, he left school to become a writer. However, in 1953 Thomas died in New York due to
his heavy drinking problem. His most famous poem was Do Not Go Gentle into That Good
Night which was published in 1952 (Ried notes) .His central message in the poem is not to
accept death quietly. Thomas uses old age, wise men, wild men, and grave men to give
examples to deliver his message. Thomas starts the poem off by talking about men in their old
age. He informs us about the old age men by saying, Old age should burn and rave at close of day

spread their knowledge to rest of the world. These type of men are just want to be known and

power in the poem (Reid Lecture). The third type of men are the wild men. Thomas says Will men

Thomas states that the wild men enjoy living their life to the fullest. These type of men don t get to

Should Juveniles Be Tried As Adults Essay
Holden 5
Should Juveniles be Tried as Adults? Juveniles deserve to be tried the same as adults when they
commit certain crimes. The justice systems of America are becoming completely unjust and easy to
break through. Juvenile courts haven t always been known to the everyday person. The Illinois
Juvenile Court Act of 1899 was the first juvenile court established in the United States (Locked
Up...). The juvenile court was created to handle the offenders on the basis on their rather than their
crime. In the 1980 s and 90 s many states passed laws to try teens as adults (Should Juveniles...).
The court system served to the minors under the age of sixteen. The courts didn t typically support

Everyone has their own opinion as to whether the courts should be abolished or not, but the
people for abolishing them believe that the court is based on false premises. They believe that
all it does for the youth is cover up their actions. They feel as if juveniles are tried as adults they
will get the full punishment that is deserved. Juvenile courts fail to stop violence. They believe
that they should be punished for adult crimes if they are going to act in such manors (Should
Juveniles...). While there are many that want to abolish it there are still many that still agree with
it. Teens and children aren t fully matured and shouldn t be tried based on their immaturity. It is
believed that changing the people the juvenile hangs out with will change a lot. The juvenile
court is based on a base to bases case that it is to serve the extreme best of the juvenile. The main
purpose of the court is to treat not to deter. Juvenile courts are needed to keep hope of those
juveniles that still have hope
(Should Juveniles...). Many believe that gun rights are a serious issue in society today. While there
are many that disagree with the statement there are still many that think they laws should be more
serious. For example, in Littleton, Colorado two teens were charged for murder. Thirteen were
killed and many were injured. Bob Levin argues that, the Second Amendment protects America s
right to bear arms, it also puts dangerous weapons in the hands of immature, confused

Boeing Airlines And The Defense Market Essay
Company s Market
Boeing may only be one company, but they compete in two different markets: commercial airlines
and the defense industry. The main competition in the commercial airline market is Airbus. Airbus
and Boeing seem to have the commercial airline industry in a chokehold basically having no other
competitors. Since the industry has high barriers to entry they will not see much competition
anytime soon. Boeing is the American leader in commercial airplanes and Airbus is the European
leader, which means they are constantly battling. Their competing aircrafts are the Airbus A380 and
the Boeing 747. Both companies have many variations of their respected aircraft and according to
Business Insider, Airbus A380 outranks the Boeing 747 based on cost, range, size and luxury.
The defense market, Boeing aligns itself in is more complex than their commercial airline market.
Boeing s main competitor in this market is Lockheed Martin and Raytheon Company. Even
though all these companies may compete, each with each other they often create joint ventures
because the defense industry requires a diverse product mix that one company may not be able
to fulfill. One example of these ventures is when Boeing and Lockheed Martin come to together
to own/operate Hellfire Systems, LLC which allows for both companies to sell AGM 114 Hellfire
Missiles. This missile is used in the United States Army, Navy and Air Force so this is a very
profitable venture for both Lockheed Martin and Boeing.

Television s Impact On Television
One part of television that has always been a constant in a lot of programs is family. More
particular, the family sitcom and family dramas have been around for years and are still around
today. Family television shows are great programs for everyone due to the fact of being very
family oriented. However, the way families were portrayed when television first started out has
changed drastically with how some families are portrayed now. The evolution of the way
families are viewed on screen and off screen can be portrayed throughout the years on television.
One television show that aired from 1951 1957 was the series I Love Luc. This series was about a
husband and a wife and their lives together. They were a typical familyin the 50s. Lucy stayed at
home being a housewife at first while Ricky would go out to work (Smith). The series even
showed them sleeping in separate beds at that time because we as the audience weren t allowed to
see a couple sleep in the same bed. Later in the series, Lucy became pregnant which wasn t a very
common thing to show on television, especially at that time (Garrison).
Typical families shown on television in the 1950s were a mother, father, and their children. One
show that started to break the mold was My Three Sons which premiered in 1960 and aired until
1972. My Three Sons was about a widowed father raising his three sons on his own with the help
of the kids grandfather (Taflinger). In a matter of only ten years the family sitcom had

Methods For Sustainable Agriculture From Http
Summarize, in YOUR own words (do NOT copy from the website) two of the methods for
sustainable agriculture from http://www.ucsusa.org/food_and_agriculture/science_and_impacts
/science/sustainable agriculture.html (including all hyperlinks used).
Cover crops is the first method I will cover. Cover crops are essentially an alternative crop that
get planted between growing cycles. There can be a number of positive reasons for doing so. A
cover crop can hold the soil together ad reduce erosion. If ploughed into the soil or mowed and
left as cut material, this provides a more natural revitalisation of organic material and therefore
nutrients to the land. This is a more healthier alternative to manufactured strong fertiliser to
replenish nutrients to the soil for the next crop. Certain crops can also act as detergents to pets
and diseases. Another use of cover crops is to act as a cover crop and feed for livestock meeting
dual needs.

The Three Elements on Why People Commit a Crime
The Three Elements on Why People Commit a Crime There are many different meanings of
crime and many different reasons people commit crimes. In the United States, defense lawyers try
to prove their clients did not know what they were doing when they committed the crime and the
prosecution tries to prove the defendant did know what they were doing when they committed the
crime. However, the prosecution must have the elements of a crime, which means state of facts to
prove someone guilty. The prosecution lawyers and the defense lawyers use elements of a crime
for the defendant. The following are examples of elements of a crime: mens rea, autus reus,
concurrence of actus renus and mens rea. All of these can be used as elements of a crime.... Show

Sometimes, the defendant does not mean to commit a crime. Perhaps they were in defending
themselves or maybe it was it accident. Finally, all three elements of a crime can be used in a
criminal case. For example, Jacob Simmon believes that he will be charged with several crimes
(Hames Eken, 2009) Jacob Simmon threw a beer bottle and hit someone. Simmon did not mean to
hurt the man. All three elements of a crime were used: mens rea was used because he was reckless,
actus reus was used because he was not forced to throw the bottle and hit the guy. Concurrence of
the actus reus and mens rea was used even though he did not mean hurt the man he still can be
charged with a crime. (Hames Eken, 2009) In the United States a defendant is innocent until
proven guilty. Prosecution lawyers and defense lawyers must prove why the defendant committed
the crime, or if they did commit a crime. A prosecution cannot charge someone with a crime
unless they can prove someone committed a crime. Therefore, they use the three elements of a
crime. They used mens rea, actus reus, concurrence of the actus reus and mens rea. They can use
all three elements of a crime in a criminal case. These three elements of a crime will help to see
why the defendant

Alcohol Is The Biggest Killer Of Young People
Just as Vodka is the drink often associated with Russian culture, Guinness dark stout beer is the
drink often associated with Irish culture. This culture is often known for heavy drinking and

biggest killer of young people in Ireland and many are impacted by their parents drinking. One
person dies every seven hours due to alcohol in Ireland. Nine out of ten public order crimes in
Ireland are alcohol related and one tenth of the health budget is spent on dealing with alcohol
related harm. Studies conducted at universities in Ireland found that drinking behaviors were
impacted by having fathers or older siblings with drinking problems. The environment the child

The Positive Effects Of The Black Death
Everything gets worse before it gets better. A bruise turns into a gaudy green pigment before it

categories of Best Picture, Best Original Screenplay, and Best Film Editing. This film should win
for Best Picture because of its faultless execution, powerful ensemble, and subject matter. Spotlight

The London Program Has Cut Congestion
The London program has cut congestion from the original cordon by 20 to 30 percent (70,000
fewer cars per day), and by 14 percent in the western extension (30,000 fewer cars per day).
There has been a 6 percent increase in bus ridership and a 12 percent increase in cycling journeys
into the western addition during charging hours; and a 66 percent increase in cycling within the
charging zone since it was introduced (Transport for London, 2009). As private vehicle traffic has
dropped, some road space has been dedicated to transit and other purposes. Transport for London
(TfL) announced that construction‐ related delays and changing use of road space contributed to
increasing traffic congestionin the charging zone back to pre‐charging zone levels, but that the
number of vehicles was still significantly lower and that construction‐related delays would have
been worse without the congestion charging zone in place (Mail On‐Line, 2008). Many of these
delays appear to be temporary, although some alterations to roadways to promote alternative forms
of transportation are permanent.
Carbon dioxide emissions dropped 15 to 20 percent, and fine particulates and nitrogen dioxide
dropped 10 percent according to the Central London Congestion Charging Impacts Monitoring

ethics prior findings has indicated that organizational, relational, and individual factors likely drive
the upward dissent. However, they do not discuss the strategies of upward dissent used by
employees. In this study, the author aims to explore strategies of upward dissent. The study
identified four different strategies which include personal, contractual, regulative, and direct tactics.
The exit voice loyalty model of employees in the super subordinate relations also studied. Purpose

upward dissent within contemporary organizations. RQ1: What identifiable upward dissent
strategies do employees use? (p.192) Methodology The author used a survey questionnaire to

Dancing With The Tiger
Dancing with the Tiger by Lili Wright is by far one of the most energetic and exotic books I
have read in a very long time. As soon as the book began with main character Anna using her
tongue to sensually slipping her cheating fiancГ© her engagement ring during one of the most
vital art shows of his career, I knew I was going to like Anna. Wright did such a wonderful job
giving Anna s character a lot of guts and grit while still ensuring that the average womanwould be
able to connect with her.
After having her heart broken, Anna sets off to Mexico with three goals: avenge her and her
father s careers by finding Montezuma s death mask, lay her mother to rest nearly 20 years after
her death, and get over her scum of an ex fiancГ©. While on this

The New Jersey Plan was made up of 11 resolutions that were an alternative option to the Virginia
Plan. The New Jersey Plan was given in the form of eleven decision prepare by members from
the small states consisting of New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, and Delaware. The New
Jersey Plan detailed a legislature of only one house and featured equal representation in which
each state had the same number of representatives. The goal of this plan was for smaller states to
have the same level of power in the legislature as some of the larger states. Also, the New Jersey
Plan proposed for one house consisting of a single Congressional legislative body in which each
State would have an equal number of representatives. William Paterson had hoped that his New

Analysis Of Victoria s Secret Fashion Shows
Fashion shows, media influences, and the modeling industry has shaped our society to aspire to
physical features that are considered beautiful. Being a skinny, toned, and confident it girl has
been advertised extensively as perfect and desirable during our current time period. While this
may be considered a healthy fitness goal to achieve, companies publicize this value to an extreme
in hopes of raising sales. A business that is well known for the abuse of this ideal body imageis
Victoria s Secret. Over the years, Victoria s Secret has promoted their models, better known as
Angels, who appear to be representing a very small portion of the population in terms of body shape
. This has become an intense debate amongst fans and critics, resulting in severe issues regarding
social media, health, and financial gains.
Natalie Reilly approached this topic after the 2017 Shanghai Victoria s Secret Fashion Show aired.
Reilly brings her article to attention when she specifically states that the ability to strut, almost
naked, in spindly heels, is for a coterie of chosen models, the lingerie equivalent of winning an
Oscar (2017). Additionally, Reilly claims that this modeling opportunity is infused somehow with
the zealous pageantry of an ice skating routine (2017). While enthusiasts may beg to differ with
these facts , Reilly makes a strong rationalization using the controversial post by plus sized model,
Ashley Graham. Prior to the Victoria s Secret Fashion Show, Graham made it clear that she had
finally got her Angel wings, dissing the business on her six million followers platform. Graham s
testimony through the internet helps support Rielly s viewpoint by demonstrating that even top
models in the field disagree with the Angel image.
The issue of body image in relation to Victoria s Secret models could be better defined by the
impractical measurements which the models are required to maintain. Runway models strive to
achieve a 34 inch hip, 24 inch waist, and a 32 inch bust through extreme self starvation. Popular
diets include the tapeworm diet, the cigarette diet, and the lemon cleanse diet. Another extreme case
of weight loss is the consumption of cotton balls to help attain a feeling of a full stomach

Evaluation Of The Video Discussion
This was a very interesting simulation. As mentioned in the Flipchat video discussion, I have done
several other simulations during my undergrad schooling. Compared to this simulation they were
based in the financial realm focused on stocks and bonds. However, they all share a similar aspect
in regards that their ultimate goal to maximize profit. Ultimately I ended up doing three different
runs through the simulation that each had unique results. My best results showed a profit of $37.5
million and a market share of just under 50% for the state of Florida. During my first run through
of the simulations I had simple strategy which was to mimic the prices of the competition. I

However, at the same time I believed that because there was only a little gap in market share, the
reputation of Universal was greater than its competition and the price difference was the reason for
the market share gap. Therefore, I lowered the prices to be comparative to the competitor and my
theory was correct and the market share flipped and Universal gained more as the months
progressed. This process is what I would implement on a larger scale in my second simulation run.
Throughout my second run in the simulation I altered my strategy to have my prices lower then
competition and it backfired greatly on me. My thought process for this was that having lower
prices would definitely raise market share as consumers would chose the cheaper costs. At the
same time I envisioned the drop in prices would result in more consumers switching companies
and renting from Universal, but I was wrong. The results of this simulation ended with a loss of
over $11 million but a market share of over 50%. My error for this simulation was that I relied too
much on lowering prices. In the first simulation the last three months were the competition
increased their prices and there were no change to universal resulted in losses of profits. I took that
as not adjusting the prices and not that my prices were too low. However, after the second simulation

Mein Kampf Book Report
Mein Kampf, a book, which in the eyes of many adults, elders and adolescents who I have
observed around me, is a novel replete with hate and inhumane ideas. It spread disrespect and
segregation amongst the population, during the Second World War. they claim. This kind of
writing should have been forbidden by law , I have heard many adults say. After the war, in 1945,
this book that brought war upon the globe, has retired from being published and sold in stores all
across Germany. This practice had been reconsidered, though, in January 2016. According to Mein
Kampf, Hitler s Manifesto, Returns to German Shelves, published on January 8th, 2016 in The
New York Times, a new annotated version of Adolf Hitler
s Mein Kampf has begun to fill book
stores in Germany. Many german intellectuals believe that this event will not affect the
perception of the citizen towards the groups targeted in this novel. However, many jewish
organizations like the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany are against the
release of Adolf Hitler s controversial work. This event had left me wondering, if Mein Kampf was
published in 2016, would it be accepted by freedom of speech and expression, or rejected by law?

Bauhaus Case Study
The Bauhaus School of Design and Architecture
The year was 1919. World War I had just ended, and new beginnings were arising. Day to day life
no longer revolved around the fear of the outcome of World War I. The German youth began to see
potential in this at the same time that architect Walter Gropius decided to make a huge decision.
After some struggle to break stereotypes, he opened a school, called Bauhaus. With its three
locations in Germany, the Bauhaus School of Design was able to produce modern art, train
diverse artists, and push the limits. Just as Viennese artists did in the late 1800s, Walter Gropius
and several other Germans pulled away from the national art guilds and began to compete with
each other to see who could form the best group with the least bourgeoisie views and works. This
type of group was called a compound, and more specifically, the Bauhaus. In the beginning, there
was no plan to become a school. It was simply a group of architects including Bruno Taut, Ludwig
Mies van der Rohe, and J.J.P. Oud who were together aiding in Gropius attempt to create art that
in no way, shape, or form met the standards of the middle to upper class (Wolfe 13 17). In the
same year, Gropius was asked to combine the fine arts schools of Weimar with his own talents to
form a school. In one of his manifestos, Gropius wrote, The art of schools of old were incapable of
producing this unity and how could they, for art may not be taught. Under the same name of

Reaction Between Hydrochloric Acid And Sodium Tiosulfate
Reaction Order and Rate Laws
Glenna Hoefs
December 26, 2017 Abstract
This report discusses a laboratory procedure to study the effect of reactant concentration on the rate
of the reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium thiosulfate, with the aim of determining the
order of each reactant and the rate law for the reaction.
For this experiment, the reactants were added to a well plate in varying concentrations. The
reaction was timed by using a stopwatch and observing the production of a precipitate. The data
collected during this procedure was then analyzed to determine the reaction order for each reactant
as well at the rate law for the reaction.
The hydrochloric acid was determined to have a reaction order of 0, while the sodium thiosulfate
was determined to have a reaction order of 1. The reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium
thiosulfate was determined to be first order with respect to N2S2O3. The k constant for this
reaction was calculated to be 0.1 1/s.
We conclude that the concentration of hydrochloric acid does not have an effect on the rate of the
reaction. The concentration of sodium thiosulfate, however, is directly proportional to the rate of
the reaction.

Later the 4 projects were put on hold after the Ministry of Communications reviewed it and decided
to bring it under the government purview. The projects include metro and rail scheme and PTB had
taken steps in preparing them for the private sector. If the ministry doesn t approve the project then
it would be a great blow to Kuwait which wants to attract private sector and new technology to the
country. The metro and rail would become the largest private sector projects if they get approved.
The MPA (Mega Project Agency) designs and implements the infrastructure projects in Kuwait.
In 2008 a new BOT (Build Operate Transfer) law was passed as Kuwait recognized the
requirement to attract foreign investors and start the development plan. BOT is the method
through which private sector would be involved in mega projects under the Kuwait development
plan. The new law was a model of PPP according to which, the private investors would build and
operate for a fixed time frame and benefit from the revenue streams. In Kuwait time frame was
usually 20 40 years after which it would be transferred to the government. Despite all the optimism,
the government did not sign any BOT contracts and 31.4% projects or $61.2 billion worth of
projects were held or called off. Promises by the ministers and senior officials became a routine in
the media with the private investors frustrated in investing. The main challenges facing private

Rossini And Il Barbiere Di Siviglia Essay
Rossini and Il Barbiere di Siviglia
Gioachino Rossini, like many great composers, was born in the right place at the right time. The
musical firmament was still mourning the loss of Wolfgang Mozart in 1792 when Rossini was
born. His parents were both gifted musicians, and young Gioachino was in a music conservatory
by the age of 14. Rossini composed ten operas within the following seven years and had
established himself as a gifted composer in the opera buffa style. This genre of comic opera was
strikingly different from the rigorous opera seria, but it still managed to acquire some noticeable
traits. Primarily, the arias in opera buffe shirk the da capo style of the seria mold. The subject

Rossini snuck out of the Teatro Argentina and went home, retiring for the evening without so
much as a word to anyone. The following evening, however, was a stark contrast. The composer
did not attend the performance, but he heard a crowd with torches in the street following the
show. He fully expected an angry mob, but was greeted by an adulatory audience shouting Bravo!
Almaviva became immensely popular, and the title was eventually changed to Il Barbiere di
Siviglia. This alteration established Rossini s work as the ultimate expression of the story, and the
work is now considered widely as one of the greatest comic operas ever written.
An aria from Barbiere that incorporates many of the typical buffa elements is La calunnia Г© un
venticello from the first act. Often called the Calumny aria , La calunnia is the first aria sung by
the unscrupulous music teacher, Don Basilio. He sings to Bartolo about defaming Almaviva
through calumny, malicious lies. The aria opens slowly, softly in D major as Basilio describes his
slander as a gentle breeze which begins to gather force. Rossini s orchestration embodies this
concept, as a simple ascending scale in thirds begins in the strings. The pianissimo marking gives
way to piano as the pattern moves to a phrase in b minor. The tune continues to meander through
tonalities until it arrives back in D major. Basilio reiterates that his lies gather

  • 2. A Study On Protein Deficiencies Protein deficiencies are commonly observed in older adults, leading to decreased levels of physical activity. Nutritional interventions with whey protein could improve these muscle parameters. Both young and older D. melanogaster were fed a whey protein diet. Compared to the younger D. melanogaster, the older population showed improved musclepower, grip strength and less muscle fatigue. The climbing assay results were statistically significant, whereas the flying assay results were not significant, but borderline. As such, the possibility of detecting a statistically significant difference for the flying assay results cannot be dismissed, if a greater number of repetitions were conducted. The younger D. melanogaster population did not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Whey protein is digested quickly because it is a leucine rich protein, and has a track record in being more successful in synthesizing muscle protein in older populations than casein protein which is digested more slowly (van Dijk et. al. 2016). Whey protein is given to D. melanogaster flies rather than hemp or soy protein, because soy protein and hemp proteins are plant based proteins while whey protein is from cows. Animal based proteins are easier to digest compared to plant based proteins. The study investigated the impacts of whey protein on two population groups that consisted of young and old population of D. melanogaster because muscle damage could be simulated by age. As people grow older, more damage in muscles occurs, and whey protein is expected to have a greater effect. This effect is investigated in this experiment with D. melanogaster, where whey protein improves muscle activity in older D. melanogaster. D. melanogaster is a model organism in this experiment. A model organism is an organism which is easy to study because it is cheap, reproduces easily and quickly, and the workings of it can lead us to understand how other organisms work. By giving whey protein supplements to D. melanogaster and observing the effects, it can provide understanding as to how a similar amount of whey protein can affect humans. Of ... • 3. Why America Is A Great Nation Why do I believe America is a great nation? America s greatness comes from our freedom, our people, and our First Amendment Rights of religion, speech, press and assembly. Freedom is an inalienable right that many people of the U.S. take for granted. Our civil rights are part of our freedom. People that invade upon our rights are punished. The severity of this punishment depends upon how harshly our rights are violated. And, although freedom doesn t come with guarantees of a perfect life, we are all free to choose our own destinies. America is the greatest most powerful country in the world, not just because of our army but because of the values of our people. (President Barrack Obama,2014, p.1). However, the important thing is to be able at any moment to sacrifice and serve the ones that need it the most. It is not how much we do, but how much love we put in the doing. These individuals are the lucky stars that these cutting edge facilities exist, having a premature baby is getting one of God s miracles in the middle of their creation, one of the wonderful moments in our lives are allowing our tiny patients to leave their footprint on our heart. Neonatal have involve light years since they first open their doors. Without doubt, statistics show that neonatal nurses enjoy job security and they own higher annual salary than any other career. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ( Rasmussen College ). Most neonatal nurses work in a typical hospital environment usually in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) or maternity ward. ( Rasmussen College ). However, not all neonatal nurses work in such intense settings. Some care for healthy babies in mother baby nurseries, and others work in clinics or home healthcare to provide follow up care for infants. ( Rasmussen College ). Neonatal nurse will have a variety of job duties throughout the day. They may do anything from resuscitating infants and administering medication to helping a new mom get started breastfeeding. ( Rasmussen College ). Caring for sick babies and offering support to their families is rewarding in itself. However, a neonatal nursing career offers benefits beyond the fulfilling job of patient care. One reason why you should consider a career in neonatal nursing is that it will give you an opportunity to help newborn babies. Premature or underweight babies need monitoring and special care all the time, having this field of profession is rewarding if you love babies. Nonetheless, you have to undergo training since babies often face health risks that require experienced care. ( Rasmussen College ). If you want to pursue a career in neonatal nursing, you need to put in mind that your responsibilities are far beyond taking care of the child. Rather, you have an obligation to provide information; guidance and support to parents of the infants under your care take more than love of infants to succeed in this ... • 5. How Did The Reconstruction Era Affect America Today The reconstruction era was a time that then affected America in positive facets and negative aspects as well, and still affects America today. Thanks to the reconstruction era, there are several implementations that geared the world on the path in which it is today. Had it not been for some of the laws that were set in place African Americans may have not had many of the opportunities that were presented during the reconstruction period, therefore the years of oppression and cruelty might still be present. Arguably one of the greatest contributions during the reconstruction era was the thirteenth amendment. This is the amendment that formally abolished the cruel and unjust acts of slavery in 1865. The thirteenth amendment states Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction (Primary documents in American History). The ratification came eight months after the end of the war, but it represented the culmination of the struggle against slavery. When the war began, some in the North were against fighting what they saw as a crusade to end slavery. Although many northern Democrats and conservative Republicans were opposed to slavery s expansion, they were ambivalent about outlawing the institution entirely (13th amendment ratified). This statement is proof that although the North was opposed to slavery they were not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Electronic Health Records (Ehr) Are Digital Patient Records Electronic health records (EHR) are digital patient records whose interoperable and sharable use can lead to improved safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and timeliness of care. The value of EHR is leading to more efforts into integrating medical organizations with the rest of the health care system to maximize patient benefits and improve transitions of care. Highlighting the case for EHR to health care stakeholders, such as organizations, organizational managers, and practitioners, will help contribute towards the integration above, in the process also supporting policies aimed to introduce EHR in healthcare. The objective of the policy brief is to demonstrate the value of EHR in promoting positive transitions of care and minimizing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rationale for the visits arises from exacerbation of her mild heart failure condition, with two of such ED visits resulting in hospitalization. Upon receiving discharge instructions, the patient ably repeats them accurately, but then does not follow through with such instructions after returning home. Her condition deteriorates before the clinicians realize that she has memory impairment. In such a case, the care services provided to the patient would be more efficient in case the mental health context would have been integrated with the rest of the health care system through EHR. The case above demonstrates the importance of involving health care services in EHR alongside other health care settings. Evidence for Expanding Electronic Health Records to Health Care The benefits of embracing EHR are underscored by scholarly findings of the implications of EHR. Tidwell, Wolfberg, and Corrigan (2016) explored the impacts of implementing low cost EHR as an electronic practice management system on care coordination and financial measures. The scholars collected data from a small hospital with six physicians and six midwives handling 150 daily visits, making measurements at baseline and after implementing a cloud based EHR system. The findings indicated that application of the EHR system led to improved care coordination within the practice and with other Independent Physician Association (IPA) members. Further, EHR implementation was associated ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Scouts Journey to Womanhood Essay As girls grow in life, they mature and change into women. In the novel To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, Scout, the main character, begins to mature into a woman. In the beginning of the book, she is a tomboy who cannot wait to pick a fistfight with anyone, but at the end, she lowers her fists because her father, Atticus, tells her not to fight. Scouts views of womanhood, influenced by how Aunt Alexandra, Miss Maudie, and Calpurniaact, make her think more about becoming a woman and less of a tomboy. (133) Aunt Alexandra is mad at Atticus for defending Tom in the trial because it does not look good for the family name. At the tea party Scout s views on Aunt Alexandra change, When she had them on the road, Aunt Alexandra stepped back. She gave Miss Maudie a look of pure gratitude, and I wondered at the world of women. Miss Maudie and Aunt Alexandra had never been especially clock and here was Aunty silently thanking her for something (233). Scout respects Aunt Alexandra a lot more after this scene happens; she sees that womanhood is not exactly how she imagines it and that it might not be that bad after all. Aunt Alexandra is a total opposite of Miss Maudie, the kind woman who lives across the street, and is always there for Scout to talk to. She does not judge people based on what she hears from the other women in town, but rather simply lives her life maintaining a broad minded view about the trial and many other things. She calls ... • 8. Essay about George Babbitt of Sinclair Lewis Babbitt George Babbitt: Image of a Presbyterian In Babbitt, Sinclair Lewis portrays religion as a corrupt business. In fact, he emphasizes this by focusing on his main character George Babbitt. George Babbitt is characterized as a businessman in Zenith. He is a man preoccupied about his reputation and his image before the main leaders of the town he lives in. Lewis creates a hypocritical figure for Babbitt through his reasons for being a Presbyterian. He says that if you were to question Babbitt about his religion he would say, My religion is to serve my fellow men, to honor my brother as myself, and to do my bit to make life happier for one and for all (199). Of course, if you heard this from Babbitt you would ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... His participation within his religious denomination was his stepping stool. Chum Frink and Mr.Eathorne accepted Babbitt because of his proposals for the Sunday School. He wanted to divide the school into four armies with militaristic characteristics. This would help the children feel as if they were doing something worthy. Secondly, he insisted on improvement of the advertising committee (Lewis 207). This goes to show you how businesslike the Sunday School was becoming. Babbitt was only thinking of business morals and forgetting the religious morals. Lewis also draws an image of George Babbitt s sanctimoniousness through his idea of Hell. We see Babbitt s hypocrisy when he says, if one was a Bad Man, that is, if he murdered or committed burglary or used cocaine or had mistresses or sold non existent real estate, he would be punished (199). Notice how everything Babbitt mentions at the time is something he has not done, however as he continues to live his life he eventually pulls a crooked real estate deal and begins to cheat on his wife, Myra. Babbitt s flirtatious character is seen when he dates several women and is careless because of his wife s absence. Lewis practically points out Babbitt s hypocrisy through his failure to comply with his own criteria of who does and who does not go to Hell. Lewis portrays the Presbyterian Church ... However, the value the product gives to the consumer from a marketing perspective will be discussed in greater details through other behavioural theories as the above chart is too rudimentary to give explicit argument to Benecol s potential without more exploration. Information Processing Something highly intrinsic to the product value of Benecol is the emphasis on being the only range of foods to contain Plant Stanol Ester, a unique cholesterol lowering ingredient. (Rasio Plc., 2011). Getting this information to the public through advertising happens through the brand website, but on television the advertising is focused on basic prompts that will motivate the audience into believing in the benefits of using the product. One example is the latest UK advert which places stress on the convenience of the product with a line in fairly small print about the plant stanol ester underneath the visual of how easy it can be to help lower cholesterol. The information of stanols is considered secondary in marketing the convenience product and therefore is only likely absorbed by those already interested in the product or the advertising. This is because it has changed, and continues to change, far more than other constitutions, and certainly has since 1997. Effects of an infection include: an increase in the patients length of hospital stay, morbidity and mortality rates, and hospital readmission rates. Objective: To determine if the evidence based practice interventions studied and published can help to decrease the rate of infection occurring in central lines. Data sources: The search engine that was used to find three randomized controlled trial articles and support my PICOT question was PubMed. Key terms that were used to search for them included intensive care unit infections, chlorhexidine dressings, antiseptic solutions, and prevention methods for catheter related infections. A clinical guideline for the prevention of intravascular catheter related infection was retrieved from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). Use examples from the oeuvre of each filmmaker to substantiate your argument. This essay will outline an introduction to the premature years of motion pictures and developments that helped shape cinema as we know it today. This paper will explore the roles of the early pioneers and the extent to which their contributions shaped cinema. In particular, it will look at how E.S Porter and D.W Griffith improved on the early years of cinema as result of influences from Louis and Auguste Lumiere and George Melies. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The notion of filmmaking at this age was merely to document real life, and this novelty of seeing a presentation of ?reality? captivated the audience of its era. However, these films showed movement toward camera from right to left, which later became a standard technique for staging action for the next few years (http://www.earlycinema.com/atoz/index.html). Thus, the Lumiere brothers? pioneered not just the technical attributes of the camera but also its artistic attributes, creating a dialogue of realism (Lumiere, 1895:302). This novelty of cinema, and Lumiere brothers? short films fascinated a man named Melies, who was later to further develop this medium. In 1896 Melies bought his first camera and began screening other filmmakers? films but three months later he showed his very own first screenings. His first films were clear cut just demonstrated life events and were one reel or shot usually about a minute long, ?patterned after the short films of the Lumiere brothers? Moral rights are a natural right that exists from birth, apply to everyone and universal, irrespective of which society someone lives in. These rightscannot be given up or taken away. To have rights implies that others have obligations. The government is required to respect and protect human rights. Failure by the government to do so would be a violation of human rights. In contrast to moral rights, legal rights are different as they are created by governments, apply only to some people in society, are not universal and can be given up or altered. The principle of universal rights relevant to everyone was first recognised by a document produced by the United Nations, known as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights . The document was first signed in December 1948 with the intention of improving human rights. Every year people are diagnosed with a mental health illness and need special care and support. Roughly 40% of adults in the UK who suffer from a learning disability also have a mental health condition. Good Guys And Bad Guys Essay Dan Breen COM117: Languages of Film TV 11/5/2014 Jason Molloy Good Guys and Bad Guys Jimmy Conway and Sam Ace Rothstein, two of the most charismatic characters in their respective films, are a lot more alike than they seem. Without actually analyzing and going in depth with both characters, you could see why they both come off more different than alike. First off, and a huge noticeable difference, is Jimmy s love life compared to Sam s love life. Jimmy has no attachments to the ladies. Although the real James Conway was married, the character portrayed by Robert De Niro was not. Portraying no love life in the film Goodfellas really made Conway stand out from all the other supporting characters. Sam, on the other hand, had Ginger. Ginger used up Sam like he was a human ATM machine and took advantage of every bit of generosity Sam had in him. With respect to soil degradation, most concerns about erosion are related to accelerated erosion, where the natural rate has been significantly increased mostly by human activity. Soilerosionby water is a widespread problem throughout Europe. Soil is naturally removed by the action of water or wind: such background (or geological ) soil erosion has been occurring for some 450 million years, since the first land plants formed the first soil. Note the raindrop impacts Firstly, if rain arrives too quickly (i.e. with too high an intensity) for it to infiltrate: the runoff which results is then known as infiltration excess runoff, or Hortonian runoff. Secondly, runoff may occur if the soil has already absorbed all the water it can hold (i.e. because it is fully saturated, or if the soil is frozen). Runoff which results from this situation is known as saturation excess runoff. As runoff moves downhill, it is at first a thin diffuse film of water which has lost virtually all the kinetic energy which it possessed as falling rain. Thus it moves only slowly, has a low flow power, and is generally incapable of detaching or transporting soil particles. The micro topography (i.e. small scale pattern of irregularities) of the soil s surface tends to cause this overland flow to concentrate in closed depressions, which slowly fill: this is known as detention storage or ponding . Both the flowing water, and the water in detention storage, protect the soil from raindrop impact, so that rainsplash redistribution usually decreases over time within a storm, as the depth of surface water increases. There are, however, complex interactions between rainsplash and overland flow. If rain continues, the increasing depth of water will eventually overtop the micro topographic depressions. Overland flow that is released in this way is likely to flow downhill more quickly and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the industry has high barriers to entry they will not see much competition anytime soon. More particular, the family sitcom and family dramas have been around for years and are still around today. Family television shows are great programs for everyone due to the fact of being very family oriented. However, the way families were portrayed when television first started out has changed drastically with how some families are portrayed now. The evolution of the way families are viewed on screen and off screen can be portrayed throughout the years on television. One television show that aired from 1951 1957 was the series I Love Luc. • 36. The Positive Effects Of The Black Death Everything gets worse before it gets better. A bruise turns into a gaudy green pigment before it fully heals; a rainstorm sends hail falling from the sky, impaling anything it sees, right before a beautiful rainbow appears; the red fleshed pimple on one s face continues to grow bigger and bigger until it spontaneously disappears. A catastrophe can lead to success and hope, much like the Black Deathleads to the Renaissance. The Black Death was one of the most devastating pandemics that resulted in one third of europe s population to die. Despite all the death and evil the Black Death brought, it has a good outcome The Renaissance. The Black Death was the catalyst of the European Renaissance because of the effects it had on the European economy, artistic expression, and technological advances. The Black Death affected the European economy in a positive way. The biggest change, good for peasants, was the end of Feudalism. Feudalism is a social triangle that decided who obeyed who and many other unfair standards for all Serfs, the base of the pyramid. Due to the huge population deficit, Serfs were scarce and Barons were now willing to pay higher wages and offer extra benefits. All their life they had lived off the serfs hard work, and were willing to pay them to stay on the manor to continue slaving for them (Vunguyen). This gave the Serfs more power to ask for higher wages and the freedom to find more work if they do not get what they want. Serfs, or peasants, began ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This film should win for Best Picture because of its faultless execution, powerful ensemble, and subject matter. Spotlight is one of the best journalism movies ever made. The filmconcentrates not only on the big picture of how the journalists discover new information but the little details as well, such as what offices look like in the time period and how the staff reacts to a new boss. Director Thomas McCarthy celebrates journalists and recognizes that what they do is important and necessary, but he doesn t idealize them. • 39. The London Program Has Cut Congestion The London program has cut congestion from the original cordon by 20 to 30 percent (70,000 fewer cars per day), and by 14 percent in the western extension (30,000 fewer cars per day). There has been a 6 percent increase in bus ridership and a 12 percent increase in cycling journeys into the western addition during charging hours; and a 66 percent increase in cycling within the charging zone since it was introduced (Transport for London, 2009). As private vehicle traffic has dropped, some road space has been dedicated to transit and other purposes. Transport for London (TfL) announced that construction‐ related delays and changing use of road space contributed to increasing traffic congestionin the charging zone back to pre‐charging zone levels, but that the number of vehicles was still significantly lower and that construction‐related delays would have been worse without the congestion charging zone in place (Mail On‐Line, 2008). Many of these delays appear to be temporary, although some alterations to roadways to promote alternative forms of transportation are permanent. Carbon dioxide emissions dropped 15 to 20 percent, and fine particulates and nitrogen dioxide dropped 10 percent according to the Central London Congestion Charging Impacts Monitoring Sixth Annual Report (TfL, 2008). • 45. Analysis Of Victoria s Secret Fashion Shows Fashion shows, media influences, and the modeling industry has shaped our society to aspire to physical features that are considered beautiful. Being a skinny, toned, and confident it girl has been advertised extensively as perfect and desirable during our current time period. While this may be considered a healthy fitness goal to achieve, companies publicize this value to an extreme in hopes of raising sales. A business that is well known for the abuse of this ideal body imageis Victoria s Secret. Over the years, Victoria s Secret has promoted their models, better known as Angels, who appear to be representing a very small portion of the population in terms of body shape . This has become an intense debate amongst fans and critics, resulting in severe issues regarding social media, health, and financial gains. Natalie Reilly approached this topic after the 2017 Shanghai Victoria s Secret Fashion Show aired. Reilly brings her article to attention when she specifically states that the ability to strut, almost naked, in spindly heels, is for a coterie of chosen models, the lingerie equivalent of winning an Oscar (2017). Additionally, Reilly claims that this modeling opportunity is infused somehow with the zealous pageantry of an ice skating routine (2017). While enthusiasts may beg to differ with these facts , Reilly makes a strong rationalization using the controversial post by plus sized model, Ashley Graham. Prior to the Victoria s Secret Fashion Show, Graham made it clear that she had finally got her Angel wings, dissing the business on her six million followers platform. Graham s testimony through the internet helps support Rielly s viewpoint by demonstrating that even top models in the field disagree with the Angel image. The issue of body image in relation to Victoria s Secret models could be better defined by the impractical measurements which the models are required to maintain. Runway models strive to achieve a 34 inch hip, 24 inch waist, and a 32 inch bust through extreme self starvation. Popular diets include the tapeworm diet, the cigarette diet, and the lemon cleanse diet. Ultimately I ended up doing three different runs through the simulation that each had unique results. My best results showed a profit of $37.5 million and a market share of just under 50% for the state of Florida. However, at the same time I believed that because there was only a little gap in market share, the reputation of Universal was greater than its competition and the price difference was the reason for the market share gap. Therefore, I lowered the prices to be comparative to the competitor and my theory was correct and the market share flipped and Universal gained more as the months progressed. This process is what I would implement on a larger scale in my second simulation run. Throughout my second run in the simulation I altered my strategy to have my prices lower then competition and it backfired greatly on me. My thought process for this was that having lower prices would definitely raise market share as consumers would chose the cheaper costs. At the same time I envisioned the drop in prices would result in more consumers switching companies and renting from Universal, but I was wrong. The results of this simulation ended with a loss of over $11 million but a market share of over 50%. My error for this simulation was that I relied too much on lowering prices. In the first simulation the last three months were the competition increased their prices and there were no change to universal resulted in losses of profits. Day to day life no longer revolved around the fear of the outcome of World War I. The German youth began to see potential in this at the same time that architect Walter Gropius decided to make a huge decision. After some struggle to break stereotypes, he opened a school, called Bauhaus. With its three locations in Germany, the Bauhaus School of Design was able to produce modern art, train diverse artists, and push the limits. Just as Viennese artists did in the late 1800s, Walter Gropius and several other Germans pulled away from the national art guilds and began to compete with each other to see who could form the best group with the least bourgeoisie views and works. This type of group was called a compound, and more specifically, the Bauhaus. In the beginning, there was no plan to become a school. It was simply a group of architects including Bruno Taut, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, and J.J.P. Oud who were together aiding in Gropius attempt to create art that in no way, shape, or form met the standards of the middle to upper class (Wolfe 13 17). In the same year, Gropius was asked to combine the fine arts schools of Weimar with his own talents to form a school. In one of his manifestos, Gropius wrote, The art of schools of old were incapable of producing this unity and how could they, for art may not be taught. Under the same name of ... Reaction Between Hydrochloric Acid And Sodium Tiosulfate Reaction Order and Rate Laws Glenna Hoefs December 26, 2017 Abstract This report discusses a laboratory procedure to study the effect of reactant concentration on the rate of the reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium thiosulfate, with the aim of determining the order of each reactant and the rate law for the reaction. For this experiment, the reactants were added to a well plate in varying concentrations. The reaction was timed by using a stopwatch and observing the production of a precipitate. The data collected during this procedure was then analyzed to determine the reaction order for each reactant as well at the rate law for the reaction. The hydrochloric acid was determined to have a reaction order of 0, while the sodium thiosulfate was determined to have a reaction order of 1. The reaction between hydrochloric acid and sodium thiosulfate was determined to be first order with respect to N2S2O3. The k constant for this reaction was calculated to be 0.1 1/s. We conclude that the concentration of hydrochloric acid does not have an effect on the rate of the reaction. The concentration of sodium thiosulfate, however, is directly proportional to the rate of the reaction. Rossini composed ten operas within the following seven years and had established himself as a gifted composer in the opera buffa style. An aria from Barbiere that incorporates many of the typical buffa elements is La calunnia Г© un venticello from the first act. Rossini s orchestration embodies this concept, as a simple ascending scale in thirds begins in the strings. The pianissimo marking gives way to piano as the pattern moves to a phrase in b minor.
