The document outlines strategies for facilitating change in an Ed.D program at Rutgers University. It discusses moving from separate concentrations to an interdisciplinary cohort model with common core courses in learners and learning, leadership and change, inquiry, and broad contexts for education. Key lessons for facilitating this change include using time and resources wisely, knowing your institution and people, communicating regularly through multiple formats, using data from student evaluations to inform decision making, and sustaining change over time through ongoing leadership and resources.
iNACOL Webinar: Implementation and Policy Considerations for Blended Learning...iNACOL
Two experts in the field of blended learning will share the importance of having a planned policy and support structure in place for any blended learning program to be successful. Greg Klein has been involved with Oakland Public Schools in the implementation of blended learning for many years and co-wrote the Oakland Unified case study where he identified critical success factors for blended learning adoption. More on this case study can be found on this website.
Samantha Sherwood became a blended learning teacher several years ago and then helped open a blended learning school in New York Public Schools, where she now serves as the Assistant Principal. She researched the journey of a blended learning teacher as part of her Masters degree and has documented the characteristics and support systems needed for a successful blended learning teacher and a successful blended learning classroom. Curricular Elements Commonly Captured in Unit PlannersDr. Suad Alazzam
When schools embark on the effort of documenting their curriculum in terms of unitized curriculum maps, one of the first tools they should think through is the unit planner and the curricular elements it should include.
Change happens to us every day.
As leaders, we need to know not only how to personally cope with change but also how to ensure that we lead our teams through the change, while all the time keeping them motivated and focused on success.
This Guide introduces Leaders to the foundations of leading through change; providing you with strategies for dealing with change personally, leading your team through the change as well as providing insights into managing the change itself.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
Synthetic Fiber Construction in lab .pptxPavel ( NSTU)
Synthetic fiber production is a fascinating and complex field that blends chemistry, engineering, and environmental science. By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Editor's Notes
----- Meeting Notes (10/24/13 12:16) -----hi,We have two objectives for this session. First, I want to share some of what I have learned the hard way as a change agent. These are a series of succinct lessons that I hope you find helpful.Second, we will spend time on the issue you face in your own institutions and see if we can use our collective expereinces to help you find pathways forward.
----- Meeting Notes (10/24/13 12:16) -----Just t give you some background on our EdD program at RUtegrs so you have some context for the lessons I want to share. We began our new EdD program in 2010 but it was around 4 years prior to this that we began our redesign work.

The lone conquering hero is a myth when it comes to institutional change. Higher education institutions are particularly interesting as they are one of the last institutions in the educational landscape that has to deal with accountability, let alone show results. Academic freedom is often interpreted liberally so you have many individuals working in parallel and not always together or toward a common goal. And if you left academics to decide how to make the program go, well they’d still be debating their views of EdD versus Phd in 10 years time.It is crucial therefore that as the PI or leader of the initiative you have a good sense of where you want to go and what you want to achieve over a set period of time and that you get yourself adequate resources in terms of at least one enthusiastic smart student who gets what you want and does it as well as buy out and other administrative support. At first, I didn’t think I should ask for such things and I thought I was stupid to ask but I soon learned that without buyout, summer salary and people power I couldn’t get information to and from faculty fast enough. So first things first backward map what you want to achieve semester by semester including travel, brining key folks in and then align a budget to that action plan and think very seriously about what you will need to be able to do the job. Do not ask for too little. If your dean needs you to do this then they have to enable you to do this.
Every school of education has its own institutional history. For example the reason why social studies and special education are not in the dept of learning and teaching is because of faculty differences. ----- Meeting Notes (10/24/13 12:16) -----
