Concept of Teaching
• Teaching is a process in which one individual teaches or
instruct another individual.
• Teaching is considered as the act of imparting instructions
instructions to the learners in the classroom situation.
• It is watching systematically.
Levels of Teaching
a) Memory level of teaching
b) Understanding level of teaching
c) Reflective level of teaching
Memory Level of Teaching(MLT)
• The facts and the information of the cognitive level
are forcibly supplied to the brains of the pupils.
• It is the initial stage of teaching
• Signal learning, chain learning and stimulus
learning are emphasized
• Teacher centred
• Both essay type and objective type examinations
are used to evaluate the learnt contents
• This level has the maximum level of motivation.

Understanding Level of Teaching(ULT)
• Teacher tries to present his instructions at the
understanding level
• Makes the pupils understand the
generalization, principles and facts
• The mental development of the learner is at a

opportunities to develop the intellectual
behaviours of the pupils.
