The Beat Generation s Effect On Jitterbug Perfume
Beat Generation s Effect on Jitterbug Perfume In the Novel Jitterbug Perfume, many themes and ideas
from the Beat Generation can be found. The Beat Generation was a movement developed by young
people who rejected conventional society in the late 1950 s. The idea of the generation was strictly
based on modern Jazz, free sexuality, recreational drugs, and rejecting standard ways. Developing
sexuality, depending on drugs and the pursuit in individuality we taken from the Generation and
creativity put into the storyline created by Robbins. These themes are found throughout the novel and
follow the many character that all play important roles in the novel. The way sexuality, drugs and

The idea of have multiple wives was very unusual and it was not common and hard grasp by many of
the characters. Just like the homosexual not being normal during the Beat Generation, the idea of
Alobar s open relationship was not normal to the reader. Robbins uses the strange sexuality from the
Beat Generation and put his unique twist on the open relationship that was seen in the novel. Later in
the book you see the sexual liberation between Alobar and Kudra s relationship. On page 178 Robbins
describes the incredible amount of sex they would have thoughout the day. The interesting thing that
Robbins include was the fact that the would have sex but wouldn t reach the point of orgasm because
it stimulates the brain. This sort of experimentation with sex became popular in the best generation
and then trying to find their preference.
Just the effect sex had on their chance to find their new sexuality during the beat generation, the idea
of drug usage to expand the brain became popular. Drugs have been around for many centuries, from
the early hallucinations to the heavily chemical based drugs becoming popular now and each one had
a specific effect on the brain. These drugs have been and will always be a part of society; no matter
how much the government regulates them. Drugs became very popular during this period with all of
the experiments upcoming drugs

Native Americans And The Native American Tribe
Different Cultures The Europeans and the Native Americans arguably do not co exist because different
groups did not allow them to be their own tribes. The Europeans treated the Indians with as little
respect as possible. The Indians were used to work including the women and children. The Christians
changed how they were viewed by the Indians because they suffered from beatings and other tragedies
among their tribes. The Native American tribes wanted peace within their groups although they were
fighting with the Europeans and killings between the two cultures occurred. The Indians had people
that were on their side and agreed with their views. Although the Indians where being used as slaves
and treated poorly. The Native Americans and the English did not agree with each other, which
resulted in the Indians land being taken away, being slaves, and the English making the Indians work
for them. The Native Americans were looked as being animals, or evil beings, as well as being seen as
a soul to be saved. In The Navajo Creation Story the Native American tribe wanted the establishment
of harmony and balance among the gods, the People and all the other sentient beings. Especially
important is the attainment of a relationship of harmony and balance between husband and wife. (26)
the Native American tribe wanted to make a living and support their tribe members by gathering and
using resources to create balance within their tribes. The Europeans did not agree with the choices of

Difference Between Canadian Economy And Usa s Economy
Position paper SS
I will be writing about the difference between Canada economy and USA s Economy. I will have three
points about why they should be the same, Why they should stay the same, WHy they should be the
same type of economy and The last paragraph is about the differences
America is a Market Economy, which means that the People rules mostly everything and Government

Descartes Argument For The Existence Of Human Being
In his meditation II, concerning the nature of the human mind, Descartes aims to provide an argument
for the existence of human being. Since one knows that he/she is or exists, Descartes argues that this
awareness of our own existence must also contain the understanding of our true nature. By identifying
the first item of knowledge that is valid and certain Descartes derives the criteria for evaluating
knowledge.
Assuming that the source of our knowledge cannot rely on the senses, Descartes makes an attempt to
rebuild the complex system of knowledge upon material he can find within the contents of his own
mind. The Second Meditation begins with an assumption that one is committed to suspect judgment
with respect to anything which contains any ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He further states that if I know that I am, then I must also know what I am. Thereby he argues that an
understanding of my true nature must be contained implicitly in the content of my awareness. Since I
became certain of my existence by questioning the sensory information and the existence of a material
world, none of the apparent features of my human body can have been crucial for my understanding of
myself. But all that is left is my thought itself, so Descartes concluded that I am thing that
thinks...thing that doubts, understands, affirms, denies, wills, refuses and that also imagines and senses
(Med. II, p. 537). In Descartes s terms, I am a substance whose inseparable attribute (or entire
essence) is thought (mind), with all its modes: doubting, willing, conceiving and believing. So
completely I am identified with my conscious awareness, Descartes claimed, that if I were to stop
thinking altogether, it would follow that I no longer existed at all. At this point, nothing else about
human nature can be determined with such perfect

Cosmetic Products Used From Ancient Egypt And Greece
2. What: Cosmetics are products used by people to change the look of or cleanse the face/body. Since
cosmetics are simply applied onto the body, they do not affect the functions of the body or its
structure. There are cosmetics that are put under the makeup category which are used on the face such
as lipstick, eye shadow, mascara, eyeliner, blush, etc. Then there are cosmetic products used on hair
such as shampoo and hair dyes. Finally, there are cosmetics used on the body to create a pleasant
smell such as body wash, toothpaste, and deodorant.
Who and When: Cosmetics history spans over 6000 years of human history and almost every society

In developed countries, people use shampoo and soap daily, and thousands of people use makeup
products too.
3. a) 1. What is an example of acids and bases used in cosmetics? Most of the acids and bases used in
cosmetics act as pH adjusters to stabilize pH levels, but not all of them. Some examples are:
ammonium hydroxide which is used in hair straightening/waving and skin peels
citric acid which is used mostly in transparent soap
potassium hydroxide which used to make liquid soap
sodium hydroxide which is used to make bars of soap
sodium bicarbonate which is used in shampoo
2. What products did cosmetic scientists use reactions in? As surprising as it may be, the majority of
cosmetic products are not meant to react, and if they do, that shows cosmetic scientists that the
products are unstable. However, there are some products that are designed to chemically react, and
those are mostly ones used on the skin and hair. They are hair relaxers, permanent waves, hair colours
(dye), hair bleach, hair relaxers, skin darkening products, and products designed to remove unwanted
hairs.
b) 1. What chemicals used in cosmetics might cause health issues in the future?
Parabens which are used in moisturizers, shampoos, and makeup
DEA (diethanolamine) and DEA compounds that are used to in moisturizers and sunscreens.

Actors In The Criminal Justice Process
There are many actors in the criminal justice process. These actors ensure justice is carried out on a
daily basis. Some are in the forefront, others behind the scenes. Some of the first that may be seen are
law enforcement, which includes security staff and a bailiff (Neubauer Fradella, 2014). While the
security staff ensures safety throughout the building, the bailiff is responsible for maintaining order
during courtroom proceedings (Neubauer Fradella, 2014). Probation officers are also present to
recommend probation and likewise, monitor an offender s movement and activities (Neubauer
Fradella, 2014). Of unique importance are the lawyers. The prosecutor is a vital actor, who represents

The Conflict Of Interest And Four Barriers To SME Cooperation
SMEs cooperation is one of the most popular strategies SMEs deploy to spread business risks, gain
access to technology, distribution channels and deferred taxes. Through access to other firm
proprietary resources, the concerned SMEs are likely to create synergistic effect imperative to gain
competitive advantages that would facilitate improved market and financial performance. Highlighting
the benefits of cooperation, several studies indicated SMEs partners can gain access to new
technology, gain tacit knowledge, create economies of scale, save costs and achieve flexibility and
quality improvement. They however opined that conflict of interest and low trust are usually inhibiting
factors to SMEs cooperation. From the above, the objective of this paper is to provide a better ... Show

cooperation as SMEs orientations tend toward individualism rather than collectivisms will show no
interests in cooperating with other to gain competitive advantages. Low Trust: Ability, benevolence,
and integrity are attributes of the trustworthiness of a trustee. Ability refers to the skills, competencies,
and characteristics of trustee; benevolence is the extent to which a trustee is believed to do good to the
trustor; and integrity is the consistency of the trustee s past actions and credible communication. These
indicators of trust are likely to increase SMEs confidence in cooperation. However, perceived lack
ability, benevolence, and integrity demotivate SMEs involvement in cooperation. These is especially

Unconditional Love
All parents have a different opinion on how to raise children depending on their personalities. They
have different views on what is believed right or wrong. These views can shape the qualities they have
whether they are good or bad. My parents love me and care for me a lot, which causes one of their
best and worst qualities.
Event:
My parents having unconditional love for me cause them to feel the need to always look out for me.
They still believe that I am a little girl and I probably will always be one in their eyes. This love,
however, always causes them to try to control my life in order to keep me safe. I believe that this is
one of the worst qualities that they have because they do not let me make my own decisions on what is
right and what is wrong. They are way too overprotective about certain aspects in my life, such as
dating and going out. The love that they have for me also leads to their best quality of caring for me
unconditionally. Whenever I m feeling sick or down my parents are always there for me to make me
feel better.
Exploration:
I believe that since my parents are so strict, my relationship with them has slowly drifted apart. I am
not so close to them anymore because the problems I have now as an 18 year old, I am not able to
share it with them. They do care about me a lot, but they are not open to accepting my life decisions
and look down upon them, which makes me feel as if I cannot go to them when I need help for certain
things. This type of

The Ethics Of Genetic Engineering
Genetic engineering has to do with manipulating organisms and DNA to create body characteristics.
The practice of genetic DNA has shown an increasing amount over the past years. The process of
genetic enhancement involves manipulating organisms by using biotechnologies. The technique is by
removing a DNA from one life form and transferring it to another set of traits or organism. Certain
barriers are conquered, and the procedure involves changing a form of cells, resulting from an
improvement or developed organism. GMO which is a (Genetic Modified Organisms) is the operation
done in a laboratory where DNA genetic from one particular species or animals is directly forced into
another gene from an unrelated subject of plants or even animals. ... Show more content on

One of the biggest pictures that are against genetic engineering is that humans are not supposed to
play the role of God. DNA is a unique thing to every person. Bioengineering itself involves the very
technical aspects of modification, and the enhancement of stem cells or DNA and this process can
change the human structure. The progress of civilization has been having been largely dependent upon
the out interference with nature . (Encyclopedia of Applied Plant Sciences).
Biotechnology interventions are used to advance human brains and our future to the extreme. The
process of genetic engineering is very unpredictable and dramatic that it will have a major effect on its
environment. Human genetic manipulation is considered unethical and dangerous for the most part.
Human genetic alteration is illegal in many countries, but it is used in some places to cure gene
diseases. The process of changing the genetic DNA of when a baby is born can be passed down the
line of the persons. Swapping bad and unwanted genes for a better one is part of the process. There are
many potential advantages gained from this operation as well as some dangers. Considering the ethical
implications of the gene enhancement the result might cause a gene problem. The advanced
technology application can make a huge different especially improving the quality of a human being
by fixing an unwanted and inheritable gene defects. Many people are affected

Charge Card Advantages And Disadvantages
The liberalization of the money related divisions in Asia has brought about the fast spread of charge
card organizations and monetary organizations giving different sorts of purchaser credit. The charge
card market in general world has extended radically that the guarantors of outside nations has

with the passage of remote banks, has enormously expanded the quantity of credit cards accessible,

Major Factors Determining Organizational Performance And...
Organizational commitment is one of the constructs that has retained its importance throughout
decades and, despite the extensive research done in the field, still draws a high level of attention due
to its association with such preferred work attitudes as increased job satisfaction, higher performance,
lower absenteeism and turnover intentions (Yousef, 2000). It has been generally recognized that
organizational commitment is one of the major factors determining organizational performance and
effectiveness (Lok Crawford, 1999, 2004). In addition, as observed by Allen and Meyer (1990), a
common link discussed in all conceptualizations of commitment is the one between organizational

of the organization is to be given priority. The intervening method employed, whether it is inquisition,

are used for the management techniques that have the most potential to resolve conflicts. Bias is
inversely related to the range of issues addressed at a settlement effort. Mediation is the strategy that s
the most empowering for the parties in conflict. The role of third party in conflict management is
directed towards the actors in conflict to realize their own interests when various problems threaten or
disrupt their own bargaining relationship (Young 1967). Third parties are useful in the process of
conflict resolution, especially in work aversion employees where a thorough study about the
background of both employees and organization is needed. The third party can make positive and
direct contributions by focusing the parties on a termination agreement, providing agenda or /and
manipulating the timing of negotiation process.

Nt1310 Unit 8 Project
During DPR circulation, Transit Community Planning and System Regional Planning Offices

Traffic and Hwy Ops provided a recommendation that ICE policy cannot be applied to this project
since this is an existing project prior to the Sept. 2013 ICE implementation date. However,
unofficially, the traffic volume on SR 29 would require multiple lane roundabout and introduce
concerns for merging and weaving movements. Built year unconstrained vehicle volumes are 8600 for
the AM peak hour and 9100 for the PM peak hour. These numbers are based on the all movement

Allegory And Symbolism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown
It is hard to read beyond the third paragraph of Young Goodman Brown without finding allegory and
symbolism. The opening seems realistic Goodman Brown, a young Puritan, leaves his home in
colonial Salem to take an overnight trip but his wife s name, Faith, immediately suggests a symbolic
reading. Before long, Brown s walk into the dream like forest seems like an allegorical trip into evil.
The idea that Hawthorne shows by this trip is that people are attracted to sin through temptation which
leads them towards a path of isolation and distrust. He develops this thought in the allegory and in
many symbols, particularly the staff, the pink ribbon, and Faith.

The pink ribbons represent innocence, Faith wears those pink ribbons the pink ribbons of her cap (1),
so she is thought to be innocent and childlike but as it turns out she is a secret sinner attracted to sin
and temptation like everyone.
The imagery in Young Goodman Brown is very dark and gothic like. Throughout the story the narrator
tries to capture evil within the imagery. The first appearance of a dark imagery is when Goodman
Brown describes the road he takes towards the forest, he describes it as a dreary road (8) he also
describes all the trees of the forest to appear gloomy like. Another image the author paints is when
Goodman Brown is walking down the road he then says that there might be a devilish indian (9)
behind the trees. This image captures the evil and darkness that is going on in the forest and we can
see this clearly through the imagery. The imagery also ties back to the thematic statement.
Goodman Brown like every character in the story becomes tempted to sin. He admits that he is a
horrible person what wretch am I (7) for leaving Faith to follow his temptation. But he is attracted and
tempted to sin like every human being. His temptation leads him to become a stern, sad... distrustful
(72) man. After giving into the temptation of attending the meeting in the forest, he gives into evil and
does not know what to believe or trust anymore. All because he went away from his faith. Even

The Princess And The Pea Criticism
People think of lions and tigers as royalty, so it is not surprising that they are used in this version of
The Princess and the Pea. Originally written by Hans Christian Andersen, this fairy tale has a prince
who wishes to marry a princess, but the queen insists it must be a proper princess. The illustration in
this adaptation, drawn by Janet Stevens, shows the beginning of the conflict, with the queen insisting
on a true princess for the prince s wife. The illustration conveys clear distinctions of the feelings of the
king from the queen and the prince. There are negative feelings on the left side of the picture, which
are captured by the king, who is looking away from the rest of his family. His legs are crossed, which
means he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The queen and prince are literally on a red carpet, which represents celebrity status. The queen is
wearing lots of rings and other jewels, displaying her status. The son looks like the father, as they are
both lions, yet is more in tune with the tiger mother. He is drawn behind the queen, which exhibits a
lesser status, yet a closer relationship with his mother than what he has with his father. There is much
more yellow on the right side, about thirty percent of the picture, and the son is wearing the most. The
background is farther away, focusing on the two. The son is observing his mother, revealing that he
looks to her for guidance, not the king. The phrase tiger mom comes to mind, since she is making the
decisions for the son and he knows this. One s eye goes straight to the queen, who is in the middle,
which confirms that she is the main focus of this illustration. There are fewer rigid lines on the right,
which shows less oppression. If the three royal figures are part of a triangle, they are the closer ends,
with the king much farther away. Their body language is much more open than the king s, as well. The
cap that the son is wearing is eye grabbing, as it is orange. The orange of the cap signifies his youth,
as well as suggesting he is flamboyant. Just as English is read left to right, so are pictures. The picture
in this adaptation of The Princess and the Pea illustrates this. There are negative feelings on the left,
which is shown by the lion king. The tiger queen and lion son have more hope. Considering how the
mother wants all the control, it makes sense to have the emotions to go this way. All in all, the
beginning of the conflict of this story is perfectly captured by this

The Motif In Rhodopis And The Egyptian Cinderella Story
Throughout the world, there are hundreds of Cinderella stories from many different cultures on Earth.
Each Cinderella story around the world connects to the culture it originates in, based on their political,
economical, and religious beliefs, as well as their location and their achievements, like the Cinderella
story from France, and Rhodopis (the Egyptian Cinderella story). Furthermore, according to the
Egyptian (actually Greek) Rhodopis and the French Cinderella, both are similar in a way where the
motif damsel in distress , reveals the culture it originates from through the social necessity of social
classes.
In this case, the French Cinderella damsel in distress motif reveals that the story originated in France.

The damsel in distress in the Egyptian Cinderella story is a young woman who is a slave to a rich
master. Rhodopis is always being made fun of and forced to do all the hard work of her fellow servant
girls, just because she is different and beautiful. I know this, because the story claims that, They would
tease her and make fun of her, . They made sure that she did all the work, like, washing clothes,
weeding the garden, and making their food for them, par. 2. This punishment is unfair for Rhodopis,
which shows the damsel in distress motif in the Egyptian story as well. Rhodopis got captured by
pirates, and sold as a slave, according to the story. This was very common in Ancient Egypt, because
there was a need for somebody to do the housekeeping work for rich people who had government
posts and couldn t do the work. All of the wealth in Egypt came from the crops that slaves/farmers
would grow to make money, which was given to the nobles to distribute to the people and give to the
Pharaoh. Without the slaves, there would be no crops, and without crops, there would be no money.
Because of this, the author of Rhodopis altered the story to make the damsel in distress motif fit in
with the Egyptian social necessity of

To what extent was Bismarck responsible for the...
Under the guidance of Bismarck, the Prussian chancellor, the unification of a Kleindeutsch (small
Germany) took place in 1871 after Prussia defeated France. There is often historical debate over who
was responsible for the unification of Germany. Controversy is caused amongst those who believe that
Bismarck was fully responsible for German unification and those who believe other factors played an
equally or even more important part. The historian Pflanze is an example of someone who considers
Bismarck to be solely responsible, as opposed to Bohme, who gives full credit to economic factors in
unifying Germany. However, there is also a middle view, supported by historians such as Medlicott,
who argue that Bismarck and other relevant factors ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the Convention of Gastein, Austria took over a German state. This bad feeling for Austria made
Prussia more popular. Bismarck then isolated Austria by persuading Russia, France and Italy to remain
neutral towards her. Prussia then defeated Austria in a war. Afterwards, the Prussian king and generals
wanted to finish Austria off, however, Bismarck showed strength and wouldn t let them. Instead he
made peace with Austria to ensure her future support. Bismarck stated: We shall need Austria s
strength ourselves . A good example of opportunism is when Bismarck goaded France into declaring
war by editing the EMS telegram. Bismarck edited the telegram to make it seem as if Prussia had
insulted France. This angered Napoleon and he declared war. This made France seem like the
aggressor, which ensured the neutrality of the other powers. Bismarck described it as: a red rag to a
Gallic bull . All of these points show that Bismarck undoubtedly played an important role in unifying
Germany.
On the other hand, there were many factors outwith Bismarck s control which were very important in
the unification of Germany, for example, the Zollverein. The Zollverein was a voluntary customs
union, which encouraged trade between the German states by removing customs duties. It drew the
German states closer together and supplied economic unity. Twenty five of the thirty nine states were
members of the Zollverein Austria was not a member. As Prussia

Objective: The principle of focused ultrasound therapy (FUS) is to elevate the pathological tissue
temperature rapidly therefore to ablate the target tissue. While absorbing the thermal energy from

Descriptive Essay On The Blue Ridge Mountains
It was finally time to take off. I had anticipated this trip south for several weeks. Now the last item
was packed in the RV and we were ready to hit the road. One of the things I enjoy most is getting off
the beaten path and traveling the backroads. And, we were going to be able to do that on most of this
trip. Part of the advantages of traveling the backroads is being able to take in some fantastic views of
this country s landscape, slowing down our pace enough to enjoy all the simple pleasures along the
way, and specifically on this trip, enjoying that native southern hospitality.
No matter how many times I see them, my heart always perks up when I first see those Blue Ridge
mountains. And, it is always an inspirational sight to behold when you see that mist rising in the
Smoky Mountains. However, I am just as awe struck by the magnificent views as you wind through
the Nantahala in North Carolina. Beautiful rapids and waterfalls are throughout this National Forest
also. It is spectacular!
As we made our way further south, crossing over in to Georgia, we were greeted by droves of cars
parked along the sides of the roads. People were enjoying the simple pleasure of whitewater rafting.
However, when you are the one pulling a 35 ft RV maneuvering through those hair pin turns, trying to
avoid the cars on both sides of the road, it doesn t seem like a pleasure; at least for the moment. Then,
in the middle of dodging the cars on the side of the road, a van stopped right in front of us. No
kidding, the van stopped in the middle of the lane on a blind curve to let their little boy go to the
bathroom. However, as you can well image, there are no bathrooms! Seriously, traffic came to a
complete halt in the Chattahoochee River National Park. We had to shake our head and laugh at that
one, thankful that no one got hurt! It is at times like this you have to laugh and say, traveling the
backroads is also an adventure!
After that it was smooth sailing. We finished out the last part of our trip driving through a beautiful
little college town. The picturesque setting of Young Harris is what I love about traveling the
backroads. It takes longer but you gain a glimpse of small town living. And then we pulled into

The importance of copyright laws in the globalized and digital era cannot be gainsaid. The protection
given to any form of creation is critical in ensuring that it is not abused by third parties (Atkinson,

Brothers. In the event that Warner Brothers wants to release a new movie or produce a book on Harry
Porter, they use copies of images, animations and texts of Harry porter. In organizations, a number of
elements can attract copyright. In the case of Good Design Pty Ltd, three examples that attract
copyright include official company logo, design of promotional brands and accompanying music used
in the company advertisements.
The analysis of the case reveals that Good Design Pty Ltd faces a number of issues in the use,
management and protection of original works. The first issue is the use of images found on the web.
The company cannot modify images found on the web without the permission of original creators.
Second, the company cannot use an image or video found on the web even if it does not have the
copyright symbol. This is because it is not a must to register work for it to be protected by copyright
law. On protection, the company can publish its creations on the Tree of Life or have the word
Copyright or the copyright symbol, next to it or near it to be copyrighted.

Positive Outcomes Via Health Screening
Positive Outcomes via Health Screening With cost effectiveness and money saving seemingly being a
keystone of health care in the United States, low cost preventative health care and screening programs
are at the forefront of budgetary meetings in government agencies and boardrooms across the nation.
According to a 2010 study of the cost effectiveness of preventive care, there is a possibility of savings
of $3.7 Billion if current programs could increase use to around 90 %(Maciosek, et. al., 2010). While
cost will always be a consideration, there obviously is the human element that must be addressed at
the ground level. Inspiring people to use government or state funded programs is no easy task as the
people who are not using them are the ones who need the programs the most(Dryden, et. al. 2012).
Below is an exploration of some successful and unsuccessful programs, and some ideas on improving

Different Meanings And Meanings Of The Religion Of Hinduism
Hinduism
The four terms Braham, Karma, Moksha and Atman are key terms in the religion of Hinduism each
with different meanings and contributions to the understanding and following of the Hindu faith.
Brahman
To begin with Braham can t exactly be defined. It is believed to be the truth and reality, Hindus
believe that Brahman is the one supreme being; Brahman is absolute and formless and is the universe.
Brahman is not a God as such but is more like a spirit which is everywhere from India to your cutlery
draw at home. Brahman is the unchanging reality among and beyond our world, it upholds and
supports everything. Some Hindus relate this power to Atman (themselves) while others disagree.
Karma

Moksha is defined as the fourth Artha and is the highest of all Artha s, you can achieve Moksha during
this life, or after death and it is the most highly regarded goal in Hinduism. A useful analogy of
Moksha is by viewing your soul as a green bird which rests in a green tree. We are the bird and the
tree is the supreme god, when you land into the tree Moksha is achieved, you are just like the supreme
god, no longer ignorant and desiring anything, but still your own person. It is the unification of man
and God.
Atman
Atman is defined as eternal self; it is basically your natural soul without egos and falseness, and
underlies our true existence. Atman is the idea of exposing yourself as a spiritual being rather than a
material being, so in reality you could say that you are a spiritual being (Atman) having a human
experience rather than the opposite. Atman is present in every living thing from us humans to the little
flower in the back of your garden, it is everlasting, and from a human point of view your body is a
house for the atman to dwell in.
Importance of the above terms
Following on the importance of Moksha, Brahman, Karma and Atman are as follows. To begin with
Moksha is significant to Hindu s as it is the release from the cycle of death and rebirth, and sets them
free from all the pain and suffering experience in this world. It is a significant concept to them as it is
one of their main goals. Brahman is significant

Organizational commitment is one of the constructs that has retained its importance throughout decades and, despite the extensive research done in the field, still draws a high level of attention due to its association with such preferred work attitudes as increased job satisfaction, higher performance, lower absenteeism and turnover intentions (Yousef, 2000). It has been generally recognized that organizational commitment is one of the major factors determining organizational performance and effectiveness (Lok Crawford, 1999, 2004). Unbiased third parties are more effective because they are used for the management techniques that have the most potential to resolve conflicts. Bias is inversely related to the range of issues addressed at a settlement effort. Mediation is the strategy that s the most empowering for the parties in conflict. The role of third party in conflict management is directed towards the actors in conflict to realize their own interests when various problems threaten or disrupt their own bargaining relationship (Young 1967). Third parties are useful in the process of conflict resolution, especially in work aversion employees where a thorough study about the background of both employees and organization is needed. • 20. Allegory And Symbolism In Hawthorne s Young Goodman Brown It is hard to read beyond the third paragraph of Young Goodman Brown without finding allegory and symbolism. The opening seems realistic Goodman Brown, a young Puritan, leaves his home in colonial Salem to take an overnight trip but his wife s name, Faith, immediately suggests a symbolic reading. Before long, Brown s walk into the dream like forest seems like an allegorical trip into evil. The idea that Hawthorne shows by this trip is that people are attracted to sin through temptation which leads them towards a path of isolation and distrust. He develops this thought in the allegory and in many symbols, particularly the staff, the pink ribbon, and Faith. The allegory is about Goodman Brown following his temptation and how it is ... The pink ribbons represent innocence, Faith wears those pink ribbons the pink ribbons of her cap (1), so she is thought to be innocent and childlike but as it turns out she is a secret sinner attracted to sin and temptation like everyone. The imagery in Young Goodman Brown is very dark and gothic like. Throughout the story the narrator tries to capture evil within the imagery. The first appearance of a dark imagery is when Goodman Brown describes the road he takes towards the forest, he describes it as a dreary road (8) he also describes all the trees of the forest to appear gloomy like. Another image the author paints is when Goodman Brown is walking down the road he then says that there might be a devilish indian (9) behind the trees. This image captures the evil and darkness that is going on in the forest and we can see this clearly through the imagery. The imagery also ties back to the thematic statement. Goodman Brown like every character in the story becomes tempted to sin. He admits that he is a horrible person what wretch am I (7) for leaving Faith to follow his temptation. But he is attracted and tempted to sin like every human being. His temptation leads him to become a stern, sad... distrustful (72) man. Originally written by Hans Christian Andersen, this fairy tale has a prince who wishes to marry a princess, but the queen insists it must be a proper princess. The illustration in this adaptation, drawn by Janet Stevens, shows the beginning of the conflict, with the queen insisting on a true princess for the prince s wife. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The queen and prince are literally on a red carpet, which represents celebrity status. The queen is wearing lots of rings and other jewels, displaying her status. The son looks like the father, as they are both lions, yet is more in tune with the tiger mother. He is drawn behind the queen, which exhibits a lesser status, yet a closer relationship with his mother than what he has with his father. There is much more yellow on the right side, about thirty percent of the picture, and the son is wearing the most. The background is farther away, focusing on the two. The son is observing his mother, revealing that he looks to her for guidance, not the king. The phrase tiger mom comes to mind, since she is making the decisions for the son and he knows this. One s eye goes straight to the queen, who is in the middle, which confirms that she is the main focus of this illustration. There are fewer rigid lines on the right, which shows less oppression. If the three royal figures are part of a triangle, they are the closer ends, with the king much farther away. Their body language is much more open than the king s, as well. The cap that the son is wearing is eye grabbing, as it is orange. The orange of the cap signifies his youth, as well as suggesting he is flamboyant. Just as English is read left to right, so are pictures. The picture in this adaptation of The Princess and the Pea illustrates this. There are negative feelings on the left, which is shown by the lion king. The tiger queen and lion son have more hope. Considering how the mother wants all the control, it makes sense to have the emotions to go this way. All in all, the beginning of the conflict of this story is perfectly captured by this ... Bismarck stated: We shall need Austria s strength ourselves . A good example of opportunism is when Bismarck goaded France into declaring war by editing the EMS telegram. Bismarck edited the telegram to make it seem as if Prussia had insulted France. This angered Napoleon and he declared war. This made France seem like the aggressor, which ensured the neutrality of the other powers. Bismarck described it as: a red rag to a Gallic bull .
