Sleep Paralysis

English Composition 1
Abstract
I was a sophomore in High School in New Haven , Michigan when In school I decided to walk home
and skip school, my house was empty at the time so I decided to go into my room and take a nap and
that s when it happened for the very first time. I had awakened and I felt this heavy weight on my
body and another feeling that I can only describe as if someone is lying on top of me, forcing me
down (hence holding my whole body down) holding my lips and eyelids shut. I could hear though.
This lasted for about 10 seconds. During these 10 seconds all sorts of thoughts started running through
my mind questioning the reality of this phenomenon and even extended to states where I ... Show

Post traumatic stress disorder (PTST), fatigue, heavy physical activity, extreme changes in physical
activity, jetlag and other stress related conditions may bring about sleep paralysis due to the
disturbance of sleep cycles. Some researchers have also reported a link between childhood sexual
abuse and sleep paralysis. Numerous researches have also been done linking final stages of pregnancy
to sleep paralysis.

The Evolution Of Amputations
Amputations have and always will be a part of international life. From the gruesome details of
amputations in the early ages to the civilized and innovative amputations today. There are many myths
and fears that follow amputation. Some of the fears are about life after amputation and how to obtain
the proper prostheses and physical therapy. The evolution of amputation asserts the changes in this
type of surgery and the advances in prosthesis so that the general public can understand the
breakthroughs that have been made in this gruesome surgery. Amputation is an ancient surgery, there
are traces of amputation that date back to 15th century B. C. (Thurston 1). Notwithstanding,
amputations were happening all over the world, social stigma was still attached to the surgery. In the
Middle East, the most common reason for amputation was punishment for crimes (Sellegren 13). The
non medical amputation helped give the negative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Phantom limb is the feeling or sensation that the limb is still present (Atkins 11).Phantom limb
syndrome has also been an issue since the beginning of amputations. The difference is that now
phantom limb syndrome can enhance the healing process by training the arm for prosthetics especially
when myoelectric control is present (16). In 1837 Robert Liston introduced a flap amputation like the
one used today (22). Flap amputation is where a flap of tissue and muscle is left over to cover the bone
(22). This helped to decrease infection, shorten recovery time, and increase mobility in the limb
(Atkins 9). One of the first functional prosthetics was the Anglesea leg created by James Potts
(Sellegren 23). The prosthetic was named Anglesea leg because Marquis of Anglesea made it popular
after he lost his leg in the battle of Waterloo (23). In 1839 Potts leg was finally introduces into the
United States but didn t become universally accepted until decades later

Comparing Odysseus s Pride And The Gods

Odysseus s pride and the Gods The two issues that will be discussed will be whether Odysseus s
downfall was himself or the gods. When Odysseus and his men leave to return home after the Trojan
War, the ocean currents and wind throw them off course constantly. When they land they find
themselves on an island with Cyclops roaming everywhere. Odysseus and his handpicked men head
into a cave where he helps himself to the food. After sometime the Cyclops that resides in that cave
returns and traps them. Being hungry the Cyclops eats two of the men. Odysseus then devises a plan
to escape; he gets the Cyclops drunk on the wine he receive from a priest he saved, next Odysseus
says his name is nobody, then he takes a sharpened olive branch and blinds the Cyclops. The Cyclops
goes outside and yells nobody is hurting me! so the other Cyclops on the island ignore him. Odysseus
and his men escape back to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How all Odysseus s problems start was at the Cyclops Island when he yelled his name to the Cyclops
that prayed to the god Poseidon and had Odysseus curse. Only after Odysseus angers the Cyclops that
is a demigod does he have to pay. Granted the Cyclops in the cave did eat two of his men, but gods
only the offenses others have done to them and nothing more. Next at the Witch s island Odysseus
saves his men and stays with the witch for a year despite his crew s wishes, that creates a shred of
distrust between them. Eventually that causes a domino effect after Hades and the monster where
Odysseus hides behind his men; when they land on the sun god s island. The men go behind Odysseus
s back when he is asleep and kill the flocks that were on that island. From this the Sun god pleads to
Zeus for vengeance. Zeus creates a storm that kills his men. In this sense the gods are a reactive force,
to the one action Odysseus made on the Cyclops

Most Pentecostal, and Charismatic believe that tongues are the initial sign of the baptism in the Holy
Spirit.
The book of Acts is its foundation stone. If the book of Acts were excluded from the discussion, there
would be no other source of information since the only other passage in the New Testament that
discusses tongues at any length is 1 Corinthians 12 14 which clearly teaches all do not speak in
tongues.
Also, Paul examines tongues as one of many differing spiritual gifts that are given freely by the Spirit
after one has been baptized by the Spirit into the body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:13).
In Charismatic Theology, Stronstad states, And tongues is the sign that all who belong to this
charismatic community have been empowered by the Spirit for charismatic ministry.
I choose the charismatic gifts debate because coming from a Pentecostal/Charismatic background
growing up in church, I know a little about the gift. With growing up in a Charismatic church, I saw
the gifts in action.
There is a lot of debate on whether the gift is relevant for today or have they ceased from the church.
One side says that the gifts are in the past and is not relevant for the day that we live in and another
side says that the gifts are still

Lou Gehrig s Disease Research Paper
Lou Gehrig s Disease or Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) is a collection of rare neurological
diseases that affect the motor neurons that control the voluntary muscle movements. ALS is a
progressive neurodegenerative illness that affects the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS is a
disease that belongs to a wider group of disorders that are known as motor neuron diseases. This is
caused by gradual deterioration and the death of motor neurons. Amyotrophic comes from the Greek
roots that mean without nourishment to muscles . Lateral means to the side and refers to the position
of the destruction in the spinal cord. Sclerosis means the hardening of the spinal cord.

ALS can also cause slurred and nasal speech and difficulty swallowing or chewing. ALS may appear
in the arm or the hand as they might have trouble performing simple tasks such as buttoning a shirt,

awkwardness in walking and running or find that they are stumbling more often. The symptoms of
ALS may affect facial muscles, swallowing and speech. ALS is not usually considered painful. If
motor neurons in the lower spinal cord are involved, movement in the torso, neck and limbs may
become affected or lost. ALS is a disease that eventually taking away the ability to walk, dress, write,

The Pathology Of A Lab Assistant
I was scrolling through the weekly microbiology email update when the rare job section caught my
eye. I saw there was an opening to be a lab assistant. I immediately filled out the application and
attached my resume, hopeful that I would be considered for an interview. After I submitted my
application, I began to anticipate what the microbiology lab would be like.Would there be other
freshman working as assistants? What sort of research would they conduct? Finally, the day arrived to
find out. The free standing building was all the way on the opposite side of campus. I rode the bus and
was dropped off in front; everyone scurried out. As I walked the hallway, most of the labs appeared
like classroom labs: a large front station for the instructor surrounded by smaller lab stations for the
students. Finally, the hallway led to a smaller corridor of private labs. I found my way to a larger lab
that opened up into an atypical lab set up. Every inch of space in the lab was utilized by a machine, or
boxes of spare lab gear. It was not as simplistic as the teaching labs. After peering around a few lab
stations, I was greeted by Sean, who was in charge of the lab. He asked me a few mundane questions
about how I felt about science and what my goals were, and then he proceeded to introduce me to the
researchers. I showed up the following day with closed toed shoes and spent the next four years, in
between classes and my studies, in that lab. I could not have known the experiences I

Graduate Level Writing
Abstract
Week one assignment is to write a three to four page paper on how I can prepare for academic success
at the graduate level. This assignment paper should identify characteristics of graduate writing and
explain how writing at the graduate level differs from other forms of writing. This paper will allow me
to evaluate my own writing strengths and weaknesses by utilizing the Grammar and Writing Guides
on the eCampus to help me identify these areas. In this paper it will identify what I deem as best
practices for managing my time and stress associated with balancing graduate school and other life
responsibilities.

Some of the characteristics of graduate writing are the level of detail that is added to the writing, the
length of writing, and the proper use of citation and references. Graduate level writing adds more
detail to any study. Undergraduate students may write about a point with two or three topics but a
graduate student will take those two or three topics and break them down into subtopics.
Undergraduate students typically are typically advised to write a paper that consist of five hundred
words or so but a graduate student will have to write a twelve hundred to fifteen hundred word essay
on a consistent basis to ensure proper knowledge of the tasks and subjects being taught.. The use of
proper citation and references is critical for the graduate student. The use of direct quote under 40
words such as (APA, 2010, p. 5) Direct quotations must mirror the original source word for word,
even if errors are contained in the original text must be used properly. Some papers may require you to

The Mongol Empire And The Empire
I was watching my cousin play Fallout Shelter, and he said that the things that are needed for a safe
and long lasting shelter is charisma, agility, strength, and perception. These four words best describe
an innovative kingdom, and the kingdom that best fit all these words was the Mongol Empire, the
mightiest and biggest Empire in the world. Mongols were nomads from north of the Gobi Desert.
They were first ruled by Genghis Khan, which means Universal Ruler . Temuchin, which is Genghis
birth name, lived a rough early life. His father was poisoned by an enemy. When older, he decided to
unite all the Mongol clans under one empire, making him one of the most powerful people of all time
(BK Essay). The Mongol empire lasted for only 40 years, 1260 1300 A.D (Doc 1). Since then and
before then, there hasn t been an empire so big, with so many advances. Even though there were many
destructions throughout the process of the making of the Mongol Empire, they should be remembered
as an innovative empire because it was the biggest empire in the world and still managed to be
prosperous, it was tolerant towards all races/religions and people and knew how to protect it, and last,
but not least, it made it s own government and its own way of governing it.

Mongols had access to everything. Although, people believe they were destructive demons because

Syntactic And Morphological Skills In Autism
Introduction The focus of the study was on how children with autism develop syntactic and
morphological skills and if they apply alternative ways of learning such as memorization techniques in
order to make up for the lack of normal morphological processing and if they learn grammatical
morphemes in an unusual form. Previous studies have proposed the idea that children with autism
present unusual syntactic and morphological skills; however, there is not sufficient information
available on this topic. Existing studies have yet to indicate how these skills differentiate to children
with developmental delay without autism. Moreover, the question of this research is important for
deciding whether language impairments are merely linked to autism or developmental delay. Three
different hypotheses were presented by the researchers of this study. The first hypothesis explained
that children with autism would obtain lower scores on the tests measuring morphological and
syntactic skills than children without autism and developmental delay. The second hypothesis was that
children with autism would obtain lower scores on the tests measuring the ability to apply plural ...

This hypothesis was not supported by the results. When looking for differences between the three
groups in their ability to use plural inflections to non words, none were found. It was suggested that
not fully understanding the task and its requirements was a possible cause for the normal developing
children to obtain a large variety of scores. The results reveal that the groups with autism and
developmental delay without autism both have difficulty applying past tense inflections which may
create the task of applying past tense inflections to non words more

The Ability To Test Welds Has Progressed Rapidly Over The
The ability to test welds has progressed rapidly over the years. After the discovery of the short pulsed
electric arc in 1800 by Humphry Davy[3][4] and the continuous electric arc by Vasily Petrov in 1802,
there was little development in electrical welding until 1881.Around that time there was little to be
done as far as the rigidity of inspection goes. As long as man has been on earth, we have been visually
testing things to see if it passes our persona critique of standard perfection. With weld quality
assurance Visual Testing (VT) is where it welding inspection all starts. Before the first welding arc is
struck, materials should be examined to see if they meet specifications for quality, type, size,

Floyd Firestone. With the general principle of my device consists of sending high frequency vibrations
into the part to be inspected, ultrasonic testing is applied to many fields of metallurgy withing many
occupations. Ultrasonic testing becomes less suitable when determining porosity in welds, because
round gas pores respond as a series of single point reflectors to ultrasonic tests. UT inspection system
consists of several functional units, such as the pulser/receiver, transducer, and display device. How
Ultrasonic Testing (UT) works is by having an ultrasound transducer connected to a diagnostic
machine is passed over the object being inspected. The pulser/receiver is an electronic device that
produces high voltage electrical pulses, while the transducer, which is driven by the pulser generates
high frequency ultrasonic energy. Separated by test object is a couplant. As sound is introduced, it
spreads through the materials in the form of sound waves. When there is a discontinuity (such as a
crack) in the wave path, part of the energy will be reflected back from the flaw surface. With a few
advantages ranging from: High penetrating power, which allows the detection of flaws deep in the
part, great accuracy, non hazardous operation, portability, and immediate results. A few advantages of
UT are :
It is sensitive to both surface and subsurface discontinuities.
The depth of penetration for flaw detection or measurement is superior to other NDT methods.

The Change In Modern History Have Been Influenced By Many
The change in modern history have been influenced by many factors. Many which have to do with
progress, enlightenment, and new inventions. Three key factors that have changed us into a modern
society are steam engines , mass production and corporations. The invention of the steam
engine, specifically in transportation, has helped this change by helping with speed and efficiency in
transportation and businesses and influencing social lives. Another one of the factors of change is
Mass production, whether it was positive or negative, has had a huge effect on the transformation to
the modern age. It has helped evolve the modern world through economic and social changes such as
the dehumanization of workers, the reversed idea of individualism ... Show more content on

The mass production of things affected the skills of the workers because they were no longer doing
multiple things in factories. The workers specialized in one part of the process because of the use of
assembly lines. Therefore, they didn t have the skills that they would ve had if each person did
everything or more than one things. Therefore, they got paid less as a result. The 19th century
assembly line also kept the workers working at a fast pace. One worker set the pace for the rest so if
one worker slowed down, the entire production was slowed down. This idea was expressed in the
movie Metropolis.
Also, although it was not a very enlightened concept, the workers were not seen as individuals, they
were more of estranged workers and not really important to the factory. They were payed so little and
could easily be replaced. Another example where there is no individualism is The Tiller Girls (formed
in 1889 by John Tiller). They worked as a group and no individual woman had any special importance
to the line, just as the workers in a factory. The Tiller Girls were seen as a mass ornament, which
doesn t celebrate individualism. The economic changes made has to do with the the changes made to
assembly lines and factories. Workers got paid less since they were not skilled, and since it was at a
faster pace there was more production. The faster pace kept everyone in check. Therefore, profit

The United Nations Charter And The Security Council Essay
INTRODUCTION
Throughout history, war has been the cause of countless casualties around the world. The first war in
1914 through 1918 resulted in the death of millions of soldiers and civilians. As an important attempt
to end the war, The League of Nations was founded in 1919. However, the League of Nations was
unable to grant the proper security to prevent another war from taking place. Therefore, World War II
emerged. Afterwards, the United Nations was created in an effort to prevent future wars. Since 1945,
the United Nations has been working to prevent wars and to manage international security. This
organization created the prohibition of the use of force unless it is in self defense, according to Article
51 of the United Nations Charter and the Security Council.
However, establishing the League of Nations and United Nations has not ended bloodshed, violence,
nor has it prohibited wars from erupting throughout the world. As a matter of fact, countless numbers
of people have suffered due to multiple civil wars and battles conducted by non state actors as well as
the conflicts of terror groups. Undoubtedly, terrorist groups are on the rise and have become an
international problem. With the proliferation of groups employing terrorist tactics, it is analytically
observed by the international community that they use different techniques to create violence on
governments and civilians. Also, globalization has caused terrorism to develop into a transnational
crime that poses a

Use Of Quantitative Trade Models On Aggregate Bilateral...
This paper builds on the previous literature which uses quantitative trade models to determine the
effects of trade barriers on aggregate bilateral trade flows, income, and welfare, including Eaton and
Kortum (2002); Anderson and van Wincoop (2003); Alvarez and Lucas (2007); and Helpman et al.
(2008) and more recent papers that address discrepancies between more traditional quantitative trade
models and the data. 3 The main contribution of my paper to this literature is that it demonstrates how
the workhorse class of quantitative trade models can be generalized to account for the aggregate
effects of non trivial patterns of product level comparative advantage. It does so in a way that
maintains, to a large extent, the tractability and parsimony of this class of models while utilizing the
wealth of information contained in product level trade data, which is available for most of the world s
countries. It also provides succinct and intuitive expressions relating the gains from trade to countries
patterns of product level comparative advantage, allowing for a straightforward decomposition of the
gains from trade into across product and within product components.
This paper is also related to Arkolakis et al. (2012) in that both papers address important features
shared among the literature s workhorse class of quantitative trade models, but we make very distinct
points. Arkolakis et al. (2012) demonstrate that, in this class of models, the welfare gains from trade

portrayed to the rest of the world about the true reason for the Arab Israeli conflict, which is
geography and ultimately water. The lack of water stems from the Great Syrian Rift Zone, and causes
damage to Israeli land which ultimately decreases the amount of water that flows into the Red Sea.
This lack of water causes Israel and other surrounding countries (Jordan, Lebanon, and the Occupied
Territories) to only have one source of surface water, which is from Lake Kinnaret, or the Sea of
Galilee that flows into the Jordan River. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of the Hezbollah has greatly added to the continuation of the Arab Israeli conflict and has
limited cooperation in all regions. The Hezbollah also attracted U.S. attention after a suicide bomber
killed over two hundred Marines in Beirut.
In the end, the whole Arab Israel conflict comes down to fighting for the Occupied Territories due to
their overarching benefits. This conflict is not a religious struggle, but rather a struggle for territory
and it will continue with war crimes and human rights violations for a long time until everyone in the
Middle East is satisfied, which has a very low probability of occurring.
EFFECTS ON REGIONAL AND GLOBAL SECURITY
As one can see this issue directly impacts the Middle East because it drives all actions that develop
there. Whatever attacks that come from this area are more than likely directly related the Arab Israeli
conflict. Recently a survey conducted in EU of 7,515 people in 15 EU countries said yes 60% of the
time to the question of if Israel presents a threat to peace. This percentage put Israel ahead of Iran,
North Korea, and the U.S. each of which had a 53% yes vote. This survey, not knowing the sampling
population, reflects a general notion that Israel is a threat to global security. This may or may not be
true, but what is true is that the Arab Israeli conflict is a threat to regional security, and some of the
threats

Symbolism In The Film Witness
Throughout the film many references to symbolism are depicted in the film Witness, which provides
intricacy and emphasis to the film. Many aspects of symbolism are present throughout the film,
predominately through the use of certain filmic techniques. Several scenes of Buckley s text were
illustrated through the use of silhouettes. A silhouette is a significantly engaging filmic technique, as it
is primarily relies on interpretation dictated by the individual viewer s mindset. Through the utilisation
of a silhouette the details of certain scenes are minimal and provides mysteries, which the viewers
have to interpret, hence the viewer subconsciously projects their own hopes, fears, and mood onto the
silhouette. Due to being institutionalised

How Does Gmo Affect Society
The Impact of Genetically Modified Food on Society Genetically modified foods, also known as
GMOs, are a debated issue in today s society. People argue that all this new technology is causing
more harm than it is good. GMOs are not anything new: humans have been modifying crops long
before the introduction of genetics and modern biotechnology. What are genetically modified foods?
About 8000 years ago, humans began practicing agriculture in order to have a sustainable food source.
To ensure that their crops didn t perish because of the climate, pests, or other circumstances, they
began to select which plants were the best to grow and harvest; all this was in order to have a better
food supply, less loss of crops, or better nutritional content. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, organizations such as the National Research Council, the American Association for the
Advancement of Science, and the American Medical Association have issued studies or statements
regarding the safety of GMOs indicating that there is no evidence that GMOs present unique safety
risks compared to conventionally bred products (Acosta, 2014). In fact, these studies have shown that
the benefits of supporting the production of GM foods far outweigh the risks; hence, there should be
no immediate reason to ban or restrict the research and improvement of such food products.
Nevertheless, it would be beneficial to monitor and regulate the advancement of GMOs, and
occasionally update the public on the progress that has been made and how this will affect their food
products. Presently, the United States does not have any federal legislation that is specific to
genetically modified organisms (GMOs) (Acosta, 2014). Instead, GMOs are regulated by way of
legislations pertaining to the different areas that GMOs might encompass. This is because the United
States approach to regulating GMOs is [focused] on the nature of the products, rather than the process
in which they were produced (Acosta,

Theme Of Isolation In Countee Cullen s Poem
At times many individuals feel isolated and disconnected with society. Literary works by Countee
Cullen, Paul Laurence Dunbar, and Robert Frost depicts an individual s isolationism and alienation
within society. In Countee Cullen s poem Incident , the speaker tells of a distant flashback of how they
first handly experienced being called out a derogatory name from the lips of an eight year old. In
Langston Hughes I, Too , the speaker expresses their witful sentiments in being forced to eat in the
kitchen, because they are seemed to be as a lesser human from their skin tone. In Claude McKay s
poem If We Must Die , the speaker rallies a heartfelt message to his supporters to continue fighting for
their cause, so their death would not be in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
McKay uses simile in If We Must Die to show how and make readers feel a sense of isolation when
individuals are constantly tormented to discourage them from being accepted in society. In the poem,
the speaker valiantly expresses their desires to fight to the very end, as their enemies hunt them like a
pack of savage dogs, all the while cornering them into submission and death. The speaker says, If we
must die, let it not be like hogs/ Hunted and penned in an inglorious spot,/ While round us bark the
mad and hungry dogs,/ Making their mock at our accursed lot (page 19). The speaker compares
himself and his group of supporters as hogs, making a statement to not be hunted and to be killed like
cattle. The speaker also compares the mad and hungry dogs as the other offending party tormenting
the speaker and his supporters. The overall message the speaker is trying to make is that, if the speaker
is going to die, he d rather not die like a cattle who is cornered by the mad dogs , which represents the
people in the society who are not accepting of the speaker nor his supporters. This is inferred as how
the speaker is chased out by the other offending party, showing a connection to how the speaker is
being alienated because he does not have a place in society. The people in the society, also referred to
as mad dogs are chasing him out and

Lab Report On The Ph Of The Potential Hydrogen Ion...
Chapter 7 Lab Report
Background Research pH is a measure of the potential hydrogen ion concentration of a solution.
Solutions that have low pH s or a ph level below 7 are considered acidic. Solutions that have a high
pH level or above 7 are considered basic. The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a solution may
be. Some examples of solutions that have high acidity and a low pH level are Battery acid, lemon
juice, and vinegar. Some solutions that are basic and a high pH level are soapy water, baking soda, and
drain cleaner. Temperature plays a role on how high or low a solutions pH level is. For example, the
colder the solution the less acidic it would be therefore it would have a high pH level. For warmer
solutions there would be a lower pH level and high acidity. Some interesting facts are when swimming
if a pool has a high or low pH level you could get dry skin and burning eyes. Another interesting fact
is that ph is important in many things such as medicine, biology, chemistry, food, science and many
more. Orange juice pH ranges from 3.3 to 4.19, but generally around 3.5. Citric acid is what gives the
orange its acidity, and also its sour flavor. This means that it has a high to moderately high acidity.
Scientific Concepts:
Acids Compounds that have properties with the kinds of reactions they undergo. Acids also release or
donate hydrogen ions. This relates to our lab because orange juice is filled with citric acid, and we are

Whatcom Fall Park Gasoline Pipeline Explosion
On June 10th, 1999 a gasoline pipeline ruptured in Whatcom Falls Park. This park is located in
Bellingham, Washington where the pipeline was controlled by the Olympic Pipeline Company. This
break in the gasoline pipeline let over a million liters of gasoline flow into a nearby river in the park.
After about an hour and a half the gasoline in the river ignited and caught on fire. The fire burnt along
the river for one and a half miles. As a result of the gasoline catching on fire, three people were killed
with another eight people injured. It has been estimated that total damages to property reach as high as
45 million dollars. This pipeline explosion was a horrible disaster that could have been avoided for a
variety of reasons. There are multiple important people and organizations involved with this gasoline
pipeline explosion. The most important would be the Olympic Pipeline Company itself. The Olympic
Pipeline Company is operated by BP Pipelines. BP Pipelines is the second largest pipeline company in
the United States. There were a few important employees involved in this case that worked for
Olympic. There were the inspectors of the gasoline pipeline, which were to inspect the pipeline s
mechanics. Also, there were the employees who were responsible for installing a pressure relief

should you be chosen as a staff member: I like to set myself with various projects within Minecraft, I
try my best in accomplishing them until they are completed. I also like participating in other projects
with other players willingly sharing my materials with them. Projects that I helped out in include
Vacre s Quartz Village and Waterbase, Jallofrice s SkyTown and Minecraft_Mann s PvP Mansion. To
begin with, I feel I should take part in the staffing community here because I ensure a large portion of
qualified time as well as extreme experiences and a sincere inclination in moderating over the chat and
providing the necessary satisfaction to players in need of any particular assistance. I am a person who
shares a natural obligation and heavy dedication to those in need of a correct moderation. I will be
there to help them with confusion/questions for hours worth of time as well! My highest priority when
it comes to staffing is that I focus on most is moderating over servers. I am not really a person who
wants to dedicate themselves to formulating new structures or residing to head to head combat. I find
it more intriguing to supply players with a jubilant sense of feeling from my overall performance. I
would be sure to keep dissonance from progressing to ghastly circumstances. I would basically focus

when you think about top arcade games in history this would most people s top 5. This game should
be known in the history of gaming because it was the first Japanese game to do so well in America
even though there were a few before it. In just 4 years in America it made $2 billion (Peckham, n.d.).

game because this game franchise is the reason I and expect many people love RPG s. Also this game
is also regarded as the most successful and influential RPG to be played on the NES. This game is the
reason why the company square didn t go bankrupt due it overwhelming popularity. It was called final
fantasy as the company thought it was going to be the last game they made little did they know it was
the reason the company didn t go under (Thomas, n.d.). It also increased the sales of the NES because
if you loved RPG games which a lot of people do the only place you could play it was the NES. This
game is just the first of long line of successful games (Final Fantasy series). It also helped cement
making the RPG genre more popular. The game is a turn based role playing game. Where when you
are battling against enemies you have to take turns in fighting not both fighting at the same time. At

This assignment will take the form of a risk assessment, assessing the possible risks that can be found
in the home environment and its surroundings. It will define what is meant by the word risk and it will
describe how one is identified. In the essay, three risks from within the home will be examined and
there will be a discussion as to how frequently these risks occur. Penultimately, this essay will present
influential criminological theories to help explain the phenomenon of crime. Finally, it will suggest
useful means of crime prevention before concluding that suitable methods of prevention can, in fact,
reduce the likelihood of certain victimisation.

Gately et al. (2014) state that many offenders would not attempt to carry out a burglary on a house
which looked reasonably secure . This suggests that security cameras may be seen as a deterrence to
criminals.
It is also notable that victims of burglary often experience repeat victimisation. This is when the same
location, business, vehicle or household suffers more than one crime event over a specified time
period. The offence may be the same or a contrasting type (McLaughlin Muncie 2013, p.377). One
reason for this is because offenders know that victims will often replace what has been taken by an
insurance claim.
Strain theory could provide an explanation as to why an individual may carry out a burglary. The
theory developed by Robert Merton in 1968 presents that humans are relatively good. However,
certain situations drive an individual into doing bad things. Merton, (1968) argues that people who
cannot achieve socially approved goals through legitimate means will do so illegitimately because of
the strain that they feel. Merton, (1968) uses the American Dream to illustrate this. The American
Dream emphasises money, as well as success and individuals, are expected to achieve this through
education and hard work. Although, poverty and discrimination are factors which mean that

Stereotypes In Miyazaki s Princess Mononoke
Studio Ghibli is probably one of my most preferred animation studios out there. Their best movies
typically contain powerful female lead characters, which is awesome since you don t really see that in
animation. It s difficult to find female characters who take the situation in their own hands without
waiting for a prince charming to come save the day. Miyazaki, the lead animator is a genius for
coming up with many creative storylines and significant illustrations.
Princess Mononoke (1997)
Princess Mononoke is a dark and adventurous story about man s infinite battle with nature. This movie
is a tale of a Prince (Ashitaka) who travels far away from home in order to find a solution to a curse
that was cast upon him. If left untreated he will die. Ashitaka is pulled between a war throughout his
journey with an industrial village of Iron Town and the animals in the forest led by San, a princess of
wolves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She is fierce and an awesome lead to little girls out there. You usually find female characters in
animation portrayed as a damsel in distress. Especially in the mainstream box offices like what Walt
Disney produces. San is the opposite of all the damsel in distress stereotype that females usually have,
instead of waiting around for her home (which was the forest) to be destroyed she helps the main
character Ashitaka rid of the people harming the forest and help the animals living there. She
definitely deserves the number one spot on this list in my opinion.
Spirited Away (2001)
Spirited Away is one of the classics or an introductory movie I guess. It s one of the movies that you
should watch before you die if you re When I first started to get into Studio Ghibli Spirited Away was

animation, how they drew the characters was astonishing.

Theme Paragraph
#9;Leadership is a prevailing force in life, because one s ability to guide and direct a group determines
the outcome of that group s actions. Those who lead the strikers in the novel In Dubious Battle by
John Steinbeck manifest the idea that some leaders use violence and the thirst for revenge to augment
the spirit of their group. Violence is one tool of which the leaders of the strikers use to give vitality to
their group. The leaders feel that the intense nature of violence is what provokes the group most out of
the aspects of violence. Mac comments, quot; Some things I do know, though. A smell of blood seems
to steam em up. Let em kill somethin , even a cat, an they ll want to go right on killin . If there s a
fight, an our guys get first blood, they ll put up a hell of a battle. quot; The leaders feel the intensity as
London, Mac and Jim discuss, quot;I cold cocked Burke... I seen you pointin , an I know what to do
with em. A little blood set the guys off. quot; (p. 331) The violence exacted by London brings the
strikers to the level at which they are willing to go into battle. Because violence is such an effective
device, leaders like Mac look at moments of violence as desirable opportunities. Some leaders also use
the desire for revenge to gain exuberance from their group. This desire for revenge stems from the
desire to look out for those who are victims of power. Mac explains,

Marie Antoinette s Influence On The French Revolution
In 1755, Josèphe Jeanne Marie Antoinette was born as the daughter of Empress Maria Theresa; the
sovereign who ruled the Hapsburg Lorraine House in Austria. As a princess and a member of the
Hapsburg dynasty, she inherited good looks which earned her a title of youthful goddess of beauty and
virtue upon her arrival in France. At her age of fourteen, her mother sent her off to faraway France to
married Dauphin, later known as Louis XVI, in order to secure a diplomatic alliance through marriage
with France, a former enemy of Austria. Initially, Marie Antoinette had charmed the French people
with her delicate looks; however, as she became the queen, slanderous accusations piled continuously
which eventually damaged her reputation and led to her death. Why the French people hated Marie
Antoinette so much and what are the sinful things she did in order to earn their wrath? From the
existing pamphlets published before the French Revolution up to Coppola s film Marie Antoinette, the
press demonized the once adored lady into a highly lascivious whore. Marie Antoinette s sexual abuse
were caused by the public perception as a sexualized body, a hidden fear towards all publicly active
women and the potential power of their bodies, in which they use their sexual advantages toward men
to gain an access to political power. First, the queen was an unwelcome guest in French people s eyes.
Marie Antoinette was treated as a scapegoat due to her gender and the French people s fear of

REVIEW OF LITERATURE Forecasting literature is replete with a number of studies ranging from
simple time series forecasting models to econometric models as also the forecasting models
employing artificial intelligence techniques etc. Researchers have employed the forecasting models
with a view to finding out the forecasted demand of traffic for a particular period. However, the study
findings reveal that there does not exist a single model which consistently outperforms other models in
all situations. Quantitative forecasting methods can be categorized under three broad heads: (1) time
series modeling, (2) econometric models and (3) other quantitative models (Song and Li, 2008). Under
time series models, several techniques are available, e.g. Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing,
Holt s Model, Winter s Model, ARIMA etc. (Makridakis et al, 2003). In time series model, particular
attention is paid to exploring the historic trends and patterns of the time series involved and to predict
the future of this series based on trends and patterns identified in the model. Since time series models
require only historical observations of a variable, it is less costly in data collection and model
estimation. However, these models cannot account for the changes in demand that might occur in
different periods. The major advantages of econometric models over

Australian Identity
Australia is a young, modern country made up of a diverse and multicultural population, therefore, it s

may look like, specifically, through art.
Australia has only been here for little over 200 years whereas other countries have a lot of history with
solid identities. Australian art is an important factor that helps to create its identity because its artists
are passionate about the unique aspects and symbols of Australia and they incorporate them into their
works to really show what they think Australia is.

but in the past two decades, women have been encroaching on the alleged private life of the male
video gamer s community and they are petrified they are going to lose a unique time to get away from
their lives and women in general. It s a $27.5 billion industry, but the modern video game industry had
a humble beginning. (CNBC, 1). The video game industry was thought up by an engineer named
Ralph Baer in 1966. Moving forward over the years video gaming was established from the ground up
by male computer scientist and engineers. The first video game released publicly was set loose upon

those who did make it their contributions and their prominences had a lasting impact in the world of

The Pros And Cons Of Cashless
Imagine living the world where all jobs in America pay with transaction and card. The world where
cash will never have its value again and even if it there, it will not have its do the some work it hard in
the past. Cashless society is basically a society in which cash is not valued including checks. The only
payment that can be expectable is credit card, debit, and transitions. Therefore, the United States of
America should not go cashless in order to keep the trust of its population and maintain the safety of
the country especially for the people living in that particular area.
Banks can easily manipulate the people. Individuals need to put in mind that when their money are in
banks, the money is automatically controlled by the banks and obviously that money is not theirs at
that point. Banks have the right to do whatever they want to do with the money without asking one s
opinion and there are some of the time when the bank may be unwilling or unable to return [back the]
money when someone is in need (Burnham). Other may said that most banks are regulated by the
government illegally, so it is impossible for banks to manipulate people. Well is true, however, in the
past banks hurt people through manipulation. For example, housing crisis, cars, and other materials.
This is why eliminating the use of cash is not a great idea it is going to help the government and hurt
the people. As a result of that, people should think twice and come back to their sinces when making a

Metaatropic Dwarfism Essay
Metatropic dwarfism
Metatropic dysplasia, also known as metatropic dwarfism is a very rare disease in humans that is often
deadly and identifiable after birth or into the infant stages of a baby. It has been discussed that MTD is
in part caused by mutations in the TRVP4 gene. This is located at 12q24.1 which is the long (q) arm of
chromosome 12 at position 24.1, base pairs 109,784,087 to 109,833,407. There have been
approximately 81 cases reported so far with odds of 1/1,000,000. A few cases have been severe to the
point of endangering the mother s life. This type of dwarfism affects the human skeleton in such a way
that affects normal growth. Body proportions are abnormal, and a child will have unusual features
such as shorter limbs, a narrow chest, and bones that have not developed correctly. Several facial
deformities ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Metatropic dysplasia is inherited and can be passed down, meaning that is its autosomal dominant. It
is also possible that there will be reoccurrences between siblings, though it is variable over time.
Testing of the TRPV4 gene is available through CTGT and other corporations that specialize in
genetic sequencing. Prenatal ultrasound scans will show narrow spinal canals and shortening of long
bones and the supporting structure. Treatment of metatropic dysplasia after birth is possible but its
effectiveness varies from each case and it is often an aggressive and labor intensive path to follow.
Doctors main goals for patients with MTD are to establish satisfactory respiratory and pulmonary
functions as well as reducing the amount of skeletal deformity. This may require several surgeries that
have their own risks and outpatient treatment plan. If doctors can keep patients with MTD alive for
longer periods of time, they will be able to determine which methods of treatment are the most
effective. Since this is a genetic mutation, each case will require their oun unique set of tests, since
there may be more than one contributing

The Positive Impact Of Television And Its Impact On Children
Television has greatly impacted our society in both negative and positive ways. There are compelling
arguments on both sides from the way some see television as a rich source of information, education,
and entertainment, while others blame it for society s violence, obesity, and misinformation. It is an
inevitable part of modern culture considering that we depend on TV to keep us updated and informed
with news, weather, sports, entertainment, and information. Television has warped and revolutionized
the way individuals view themselves and the environment around them by portraying unrealistic
stereotypes and trying to appeal to the desired audience. Besides influencing society as a whole,
television particularly impacts children and adolescents. It can be a part of a healthy childhood, but
too much screen time is not ideal. In What are TV Ads Selling to Children? by John J. O Connor, he
explains how things haven t changed much in the television business of children s merchandising
considering that TV still feeds children pitches for sugary cereals, sweet drinks, fruit flavored candies
and blond, blue eyed dolls with fabulous hair and the hottest clothing. For example, on Disney
Channel, they showed children drinking sugary, sweet drinks such as Capri Sun. Also, most of the
advertisements were primarily based on the newest, most up to date toys from Minecraft, to Frozen, to
Spider Man Homecoming. With that being said, when advertisements like that come on TV, children

Syntactic And Morphological Skills In Autism Introduction The focus of the study was on how children with autism develop syntactic and morphological skills and if they apply alternative ways of learning such as memorization techniques in order to make up for the lack of normal morphological processing and if they learn grammatical morphemes in an unusual form. Previous studies have proposed the idea that children with autism present unusual syntactic and morphological skills; however, there is not sufficient information available on this topic. Existing studies have yet to indicate how these skills differentiate to children with developmental delay without autism. Moreover, the question of this research is important for deciding whether language impairments are merely linked to autism or developmental delay. Three different hypotheses were presented by the researchers of this study. The 19th century assembly line also kept the workers working at a fast pace. One worker set the pace for the rest so if one worker slowed down, the entire production was slowed down. This idea was expressed in the movie Metropolis. Also, although it was not a very enlightened concept, the workers were not seen as individuals, they were more of estranged workers and not really important to the factory. They were payed so little and could easily be replaced. Another example where there is no individualism is The Tiller Girls (formed in 1889 by John Tiller). They worked as a group and no individual woman had any special importance to the line, just as the workers in a factory. The Tiller Girls were seen as a mass ornament, which doesn t celebrate individualism. The economic changes made has to do with the the changes made to assembly lines and factories. It does so in a way that maintains, to a large extent, the tractability and parsimony of this class of models while utilizing the wealth of information contained in product level trade data, which is available for most of the world s countries. The lack of water stems from the Great Syrian Rift Zone, and causes damage to Israeli land which ultimately decreases the amount of water that flows into the Red Sea. Solutions that have low pH s or a ph level below 7 are considered acidic. Solutions that have a high pH level or above 7 are considered basic. The pH scale measures how acidic or basic a solution may be. Some examples of solutions that have high acidity and a low pH level are Battery acid, lemon juice, and vinegar. Some solutions that are basic and a high pH level are soapy water, baking soda, and drain cleaner. Temperature plays a role on how high or low a solutions pH level is. For example, the colder the solution the less acidic it would be therefore it would have a high pH level. For warmer solutions there would be a lower pH level and high acidity. Some interesting facts are when swimming if a pool has a high or low pH level you could get dry skin and burning eyes. Another interesting fact is that ph is important in many things such as medicine, biology, chemistry, food, science and many more. Orange juice pH ranges from 3.3 to 4.19, but generally around 3.5. Citric acid is what gives the orange its acidity, and also its sour flavor. This means that it has a high to moderately high acidity. It is also notable that victims of burglary often experience repeat victimisation. This is when the same location, business, vehicle or household suffers more than one crime event over a specified time period. The offence may be the same or a contrasting type (McLaughlin Muncie 2013, p.377). One reason for this is because offenders know that victims will often replace what has been taken by an insurance claim. Strain theory could provide an explanation as to why an individual may carry out a burglary. The theory developed by Robert Merton in 1968 presents that humans are relatively good. However, certain situations drive an individual into doing bad things. Marie Antoinette s Influence On The French Revolution In 1755, Josèphe Jeanne Marie Antoinette was born as the daughter of Empress Maria Theresa; the sovereign who ruled the Hapsburg Lorraine House in Austria. As a princess and a member of the Hapsburg dynasty, she inherited good looks which earned her a title of youthful goddess of beauty and virtue upon her arrival in France. At her age of fourteen, her mother sent her off to faraway France to married Dauphin, later known as Louis XVI, in order to secure a diplomatic alliance through marriage with France, a former enemy of Austria. Why the French people hated Marie Antoinette so much and what are the sinful things she did in order to earn their wrath? From the existing pamphlets published before the French Revolution up to Coppola s film Marie Antoinette, the press demonized the once adored lady into a highly lascivious whore. Marie Antoinette s sexual abuse were caused by the public perception as a sexualized body, a hidden fear towards all publicly active women and the potential power of their bodies, in which they use their sexual advantages toward men to gain an access to political power. However, the study findings reveal that there does not exist a single model which consistently outperforms other models in all situations. Quantitative forecasting methods can be categorized under three broad heads: (1) time series modeling, (2) econometric models and (3) other quantitative models (Song and Li, 2008). Under time series models, several techniques are available, e.g. Moving Average, Exponential Smoothing, Holt s Model, Winter s Model, ARIMA etc. (Makridakis et al, 2003). In time series model, particular attention is paid to exploring the historic trends and patterns of the time series involved and to predict the future of this series based on trends and patterns identified in the model. Since time series models require only historical observations of a variable, it is less costly in data collection and model estimation.
