2. Manufacturing Of Wooden Shoes And Aprons
Manufacturing Dutch wooden shoes and aprons
Stacie Hart
Trine University
Introduction
Mass manufacturing entails the production of products in large quantities and it s the
advantages that come with such kind of production that makes it attractive to many
manufacturing companies (Libralato et al., 2012). One of the advantages of mass
production is that all equipment, material and labor required are located under the
same roof. Mass manufacturing is profound in various industries including the
automobile industry, textile industry, and telecommunication industry among others
(Qiao et al., 2006).
This essay will delve on mass manufacturing of Dutch wooden shoes and aprons
including presentation of budget estimates where applicable. An in depth analysis
was conducted on existing literature on the same in order to understand the traditional
process of manufacturing these products followed by an analysis of some recent
literature explaining the modernized process of manufacturing these products. In
addition to that, the review of these literatures helped in understanding how the use of
these products has evolved over the years.
1st division: Wooden shoe manufacturing
The wooden Dutch clogs were water proof, which made them very useful while
working in marshy fields. Besides being used in fields while working, some of the
wooden shoes were made to look colorful so that they could be used to attend
occasions and even go to church. With industrialization, however,

The Effects of European Expansion
For many generations, it was taught that the expansion of Europe to the Americas,
(also known as the European expansion), had a huge impact on all societies of the
old world. The importance of this was taught to societies all across the world, and
was indeed a necessary occurrence. Up until recently, the idea was never given any
real thought for the majority of people as to how, over many generations in the
family and throughout the passage of time, how they precisely got where they are
currently today, as well as what kind of pain and suffering the continents known as
North and South America was initially founded on. European expansion did have
some positive effects for the Europeans, such as new lands and resources, however at
the same time it had caused many more negative effects on both the Natives and
Europeans.
In the early modern period, explorers crossed immense oceans to even find a hint of
other civilizations and new resources. With superior material and technological
strength, especially firearms, Europeans were able to achieve land and power. The
motives for European expansion varied from desiring glory from their lands, gold for
their future, to serve in the name of God, and the strategic needs that their country
may require.
Among the first well known European explorers, Christopher Columbus, an
experienced voyager, discovered a New Worldthat he claimed for Spain in

Dreiser emphasizes Clyde s turmoil over the decision to kill Roberta to highlight
the battle between the individual and his desires. Clyde saw this as the only way
to keep Sondra in his sights. Roberta would ruin him if Sondra ever found out. So
long had he been haunted by the desire to make himself as attractive looking as any
other well dressed boy (Dreiser 50), he can t stop now. He is haunted by the desire
to rise in society. This desire that has haunted him, also twisted his thoughts and
feelings of Roberta. Clyde does not understand the hold it has. She need not think
that she could make him. No, no, no! At times, when in such moods, he felt that he
could do anything drown her easily enough, and she would only have herself to
blame. Then again his more cowering sense of what society would think and do, if
it knew. (488). The wants of desire are felt by Clyde as moods that basically make
it seem okay allowing him to do anything paying no heed to the consequence.
These moods not only give Clyde the confidence to do it, but also justify
drown[ing] her easily. Instead of showing Clyde the consequence it makes Roberta
seem like the bad person only have[ing] herself to blame. Clyde s conscience is not
what stops him. Instead, it is society and what society would think that puts doubt
in the plan. Even in the early stages of the plan Clyde has doubts. At this point
though, his conscience is no longer a deciding factor, but rather his desire vs. his
fear of what society would think. Lauriat Lane in The Double In An American

The conflict is that George Pratt/Bailey is unhappy with his life and wants to
resolve that. The climax is when George wants his life back more than anything
after seeing how many bad changes happened to his surroundings. The resolution
is when George realizes that he had a wonderful life all along and is proud to be
living. The differences lie in the rising and falling actions. In the story, the rising
action begins with George Pratt standing at the bridge and ready to jump off and
end his life. When he is about to jump off he gets stopped by a stranger who asks
him why he would want to jump. George tells him how he wished to have never

Discussion: This lab shows diffusion of agar cube. The agar contains high
concentration of solute (phenolphthalein) and the sodium hydroxide has lower
concentration of solute (phenolphthalein). So as the phenolphthalein in the agar

sodium hydroxide diffuses into the agar cube that turns the color of agar cube as

The reason why is because, to get the cell energy (ATP) in fast time and completely,
it would be better to have small volume and small size of total surface area like the

Objective
To raise capital to invest in the refurbishing of residential properties in Wake County,
North Carolina, USA. Investing in counties adjacent to Wake is also being studied.
Plan
To use proven methodology to acquire houses in financial distress, repair and
improve them, then sell them on the open market for a gain.
Methodology
Properties with potential are acquired through foreclosure auctions at below market
value. The properties to be acquired must meet defined criteria to ensure profitability.
Necessary repairs and limited updates are made to prepare them for market.
Transaction costs are minimized. Houses are sold through the Raleigh Regional
Association of Realtor s Triangle Multiple Listing Service on the open market.
Market
Wake County has a net population influx (20+ per day) due largely to the increasing
employment availability in the technology sector as well as a renowned quality of
life. Builders are finding available land very expensive and place an emphasis on
building high end housing. Currently the available housing inventory is considered
low. Although lending has become more stringent, there is still a steady amount of
properties which become distressed and begin the foreclosure process each month.
Such proceedings can stretch over years.
Risk
Properties obtained at foreclosure auctions are sold as is, without warranty, and may

Introduction.
The current society that w live in is full of crimes and people that go against the
laws. Many people commit crimes despite the punishments set for those crimes. A
crime is any act that goes against the law ordering it or any act that is omitted
against a law ordering it. Laws are set of rules that are set to govern people on how
they conduct themselves. This paper will discuss one crime which is sexual assault.
The paper will look into rape and defilement. Rape is any engagement of sexual act
with a person who has not agreed to it. Defilement is still a form of sexual
engagement with a person who has not agreed to it but defilement is for those that
are under the age of 18 years (juveniles). It involves engaging in sexual acts with a
person who under law is still a child. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The paper will also look at criminological theories that try to explain rape and also
look at how criminological theories can explain the individual who commits the crime

Federal Communication Commission v. Fox Television Stations
In 2002 and 2003, Fox Television Stations broadcast the Billboard Music Awards, an
annual program honoring top selling musicians. During the broadcasts, one musician
used an explicative in his acceptance speech, and a presenter used two expletives. The
Federal Communications Commission (FCC), although it had previously taken the
position that such fleeting and isolated expletives did not violate its indecency
regime, issued notices of liability to Fox for broadcasting the profane language. The
FCC argued that previous decisions referring to fleeting expletives were merely staff
letters and dicta and did not accurately represent its position on the matter. Fox
appealed the FCC sanctions to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

that while the First Amendment issues surrounding the case were not addressed,
they cast a shadow , and the Court should be mindful that words unpalatable to some

news articles. However, they are not stories of praise or of the bright future that AT
T faces but yet stories of concern and challenges that lie ahead for the large world
renowned telecommunication company. Here we will take a deeper dive into the
growing concerns of AT T and form an environmental analysis of the three most
significant factors, in my opinion that AT T is currently or will face in the near future.
One of the biggest concerns for AT T falls into the category of Threat of Substitution
and is the same concern that many other cable companies have and that is the waves
and waves of cord cutters that are consuming TV in a very different manner. We...

That leaves satellite margins at $42 and pushes DirecTV Now margins to slim, or
even negative . The only positive that AT T can take away from this is that almost
every other cable company is facing the same issues. However, it could prove to be
detrimental to one of AT T s competitive advantages, differentiated services.
Another looming concern posing a threat to AT T ties in with the first concern of
AT T s new cable plan through Direct TV, Direct TV Now and the free streaming
feature the service offers. Federal regulators raised new concerns about AT T Inc. s
practice of excluding its new DirecTV Now streaming service from data charges and,
for the first time, lobbed similar questions at Verizon CommunicationsInc. . Verizon
similarly allows customers to stream NFL games from Twitter or its go90 app
without using data. The agency argues the practice could deter consumers from
accessing mobile video services not affiliated with the carriers, such as those from
Netflix Inc. or Hulu, which is co owned by Walt Disney Co., Comcast Corp., 21st
Century Fox and Time WarnerInc. 21st Century Fox and News Corp, parent company
of The Wall Street Journal, share common ownership . Both AT T and Verizon are
insistent that allowing customers to steam content without data usage or charges is
beneficial to customer, but most view this practice as a way to diminish competition in

13. Cons Of Keeping Exotic Pets
One of the main problems in settling this debate is the variable definition of exotic
pets . By the strict definition, even non native animals that are bred locally and
legally, and not taken from their natural environment, are exotic . Similarly, while the
term exotic animals usually sets alarm bells ringing, not all exotic animals are a threat
to society. Pythons and chimpanzees, primarily, are the culprits in petattacks, and such
animals are obviously dangerous, but the extremely harmless and positively cute
sugar gliders and crested geckos are not even dangerous for infants, let alone adult,
sensible pet owners.
Albeit there are such confusions, here are some points about the pros and cons of
keeping exotic pets.

15. The Pros And Cons Of Elementary Education
As a college student that could be entering into the work force in the next four years,
it is important to learn what different vocations have to offer for you. It is important
to understand the pros and cons of the vocations you re really interested in. There are
three vocations that really interest me for my long term degree. Those three vocations
are public schoolelementary school teaching, Children s Ministry, and Massage

Let s first look at Public School Elementary Education. When studying Elementary
Education, it s important to understand whether it is a vocation that best fits you.
There are several key things to look at. First, what does being an elementary school
teacher look like on a day to day basis. Then, what are some of the best parts of
Elementary Education. Next, what are the downsides public school teaching.
Followed by, what are the requirements to get into the profession. And Finally, what
are some of the top professionals in that field.
When researching the vocation of Elementary Education, I interviewed Heather

22 years. Upon entering college at Eastern Washington University, she was working
towards a degree in physical therapy but found after a year that it was not the path
that had been set out for her, so she switched to Elementary Education due to a
recommendation by a friend and because Eastern Washington University had such a

In William Carlos Williams story The Use of Force, a resolute doctor takes an

antagonist of the story, Matilda, portrays a persevering young girl with a secret, a
secret she is determined to keep. Point of view makes a serious impact in the
complexity of this story. While experiencing this story through the Doctors eyes, we

characters. While the reader is clearly able to experience the doctor s frustrations
and follow his determination to defeat Matilda, they are also able to grasp her
frustrations towards the doctor. After an afternoon of frustration and fighting back,
she tried to get off her fathers lap and fly at (the doctor) while tears of defeat blinded

The LGTBQ+ community are faced with homophobia, discrimination, and increased

and the creation of specialized police units in order to recognize and accommodate
the unique needs of the queer community.
Definition
The LGBTQ+ community faces various internal and external issues. The acronym
for their community is joked to be called alphabet soup , but each letter in the
acronym represents a unique group of people. Dr. J Henderson, a professor at Mount
Royal University, breaks down the acronym to include those who identify as lesbian,
gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer, and the plus aiming to include anyone who
identifies outside of societal gender or sexuality norms, such as asexual or pansexual
(personal communication, January 11, 2016).
Issues
Everyone is affected by different issues with the justice system, but there are a variety
of specific issues that many LGBTQ+ members are faced with such as homophobia,
discrimination, and increased victimization.
Homophobia
The term homophobia was first used in the late 1960 s by psychologist George
Weinberg to label heterosexuals dread of being in close quarters with homosexuals as
well as homosexuals self loathing (Herek, 2012, para. 2). Homophobia in itself is not
always detrimental, but is usually a tool that fuels discrimination and victimization.

Woodrow Wilson saw the end of the Great War as an opportunity to attempt to remake
the World and foreign relations with progressive ideals. His ultimate goal was to
establish permanent global peace and international cooperation among a concert of
democratic nations. Wilsonianism would greatly impact modern era Presidents
Foreign policy attempts to influence the world in the twentieth and twenty first
centuries. Specifically, after World War II during the Cold War
the U.S. was
instrumental in the promotion of the safety of all nations from, poverty, want, chaos
and authoritarian rule (CP 142). Truman as President took international action to
keep the world safe for democracy by carrying out his own interpretation Wilsonian
foreign policy known as the Truman Doctrine. The Truman Doctrine sought to
combat the spread of communism through financial and military counter forces. Not
all of Truman s efforts for U.S. intervention were as fruitful for the U.S.
internationally or economically as his advisors had predicted. Nor did the Truman
Doctrine always create the intended and desired outcomes they had hoped to achieve
in securing democratic nations as trading partners and allies against the expansion of
communist regimes. The attempts of the United States to remake the World after
WWI and WWII were only partially achieved. The United States pursued a successful
policy of containment with in Western Europe; however the U.S. failed to accomplish
these policies globally with to the

21. The Current Law Regarding Teacher s Liability For...
8.0 Further Reforms
The current law in place regarding teacher s liability for personal injury is effective
in placing responsibility on the state and away from the teacher. This is reflected
through the Public Service and Other Legislation (Civil Liability) Amendment Bill
2013 (QLD) which amended the Public Service Act 2008 (QLD) as well as other
legislation. The aim of the amendments is to provide legislative immunity against
civil liability.Liability will instead lie with the state. The Queensland government s
clear intention for this amendment was not about reducing responsibility and
accountability of public servants: it is about ensuring that we have a framework in
place that supports our people when they do jobs we ask of them and do them in an
appropriate standard. The government also proposed in the amendment that the state
has a right to recover contributions from employees who are subsequently found to
have engaged in conduct other than in good faith and where it amounts to gross
negligence. Subsequently, while the Queensland government has allowed for such
legislative framework, transfiguration of political climates may affect the status of
this legislation.
Consequently, the state governments of Australia have similar policies in regards to
the liabilities of teachers for personal injury. Under the Wrongs Act 1958 (Vic), the
Victorian state government protects Victorian public schoolteachers from liability.
The state will only refuse to do so if the

23. Gas Transportation Methods Of Natural Gas
GAS TRANSPORTATION METHODS
Natural gas is a clean and environmental friendly energy source which is estimated
to constitute a major part of world energy consumption in the coming years. Usage
of natural gas is increasing due to its relatively cheaper costs than diesel or gasoline.
Transportation and Storage falls under the final stage of Oil and Gas processing
where it gets transported to the end user for further use in industry, plant or any other
facility. Transportation of natural gasremains as a challenge due to its isolated
reserves throughout the world. Natural gas has more problems in transportation
and storage when compared to other forms of energy such as petroleum, coal etc.
The main reason is due to the energy density of natural gas which is low at ambient
temperatures and pressures (Kidnay et al. 2011). So in order to transport the gas
by pipeline, its energy density has to be increased using high pressures. Another
problem of Natural gas due to its low energy density, lies in its storage. Natural gas
is highly volatile and sophisticated storage facilities are to be provided to prevent
any hazards. Therefore natural gas has to be transported continuously to the end user
avoiding reasons for storage. When there is less demand for its usage, natural gas has
to be converted to Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and then stored.
Otherwise transportation of natural gas is carried out in different ways such as:
1. Pipelines
2. Compressed Natural gas (CNG)
3. Liquefied

So she kept the rocker near the window, and on full moon summer nights, she would

make a bay window seat for the one on the left, where the breeze seemed always to

In the spring she would sit on that seat with her sketch pad, looking down on the life

Sometimes she would lift the screen and sprinkle bird seed on the small ledge

she fed a sparrow or two, or on a truly fortuitous day, a mourning dove would settle
there and coo his melancholy song.
But moments as such would last only as long as her ambitious feline remained

Skye made her home there for nearly four years, painting the molding around the

25. Essay on Effects of Low Self Esteem on Children
The Effects of Low Self Esteem on Children
Aruna Kalicharan
Psychology of Infancy and Childhood (DEP 2000), Section 01
Professor Lissette M. Saavedra
April 24, 2001
What is Low self esteem?
In most cases, children with low self esteem feel that the important adults and peers
in their lives do not accept them, do not care about them very much, and would not
go out of their way to ensure their safety and well being. Negative self esteem is
related to low self confidence, insecurity, underachievement, anxiety, depression,
acting out behavior, sleep problems and being a loner (Yarnell, 1999).
During their early years, young children s self esteem is based largely on their
perceptions of how the important adults in their lives ... Show more content on

They are also more likely to be involved in antisocial behavior (Dubow, Edwards,
Ippolito, 1997). Also, they are more likely to do poorly in school (Marsh Yeung,
1997).
Low self esteem is formed in childhood as a result of negative situations the child
experiences such as having parents consistently take the side of others against the
child or having their feelings ignored and discounted. Also, being blamed for the
parent s current problem or being threatened with abandonment.
How can we help children develop a healthy sense of self esteem?
According to LeCrone (2001), security, significance and confidence will help
children feel more secure about themselves. For parents, helping their child feel
lovable and capable, the
two ingredients of self esteem are feeling loved and capable. Parents can foster this
in many little ways everyday. It is important to the child that the parent listens, takes
his or her feelings seriously, and spends time alone with their child. They can also
show their respect and support by allowing their child to make decisions, respecting
their child s possessions, and expressing love with words and hugs. As children grow
older, they begin to discover that they have special talents and interests. Parents can
help by providing opportunities for children to experiment with different activities.

26. Vicarious Trauma, Compassion Fatigue, And Professional...
Vicarious trauma
Introduction
Counselor impairment can be caused by multiple factors. Vicarious trauma,
compassion fatigue, and professional burnout associated with impairment, because it
can changes the way the counselor thinks and behaves in maladaptive ways (Newell,
Gordon MacNeil, 2010; Kadambi, 2004). All counselors have a legal and ethically
responsibility to prevent this form happening (ACA, 2014; LPC Act, 2014; State of
Oklahoma, 2007). Although there is some research on how to identified vicarious
trauma, there is still a void cohesive preventive treatment compared to the need
(Newell, Gordon MacNeil, 2010). Professionally, vicarious trauma, compassion
fatigue, and professional burnout is high risk for affecting highly trained, previously
competent counselors (ACA, 2014; LPC Act, 2014; State of Oklahoma, 2007). This
issue should be at a high priority level for counselor, because it can change thinking
processes (Newell, Gordon MacNeil, 2010; Kadambi, 2004). Therefore, it can alter
client s care significantly. However, the counselors have to know the concepts
associated with negate impairment and know preventive measures (ACA, 2014; LPC
Act, 2014; State of Oklahoma, 2007).
Definitions
Researcher hypothesizes that clinicians unique setting has three factor which creates
an environment that vicarious trauma can be more than others (Kadambi, 2004).
First, counselors are exposure to emphatic engagement with the client s trauma.
Second, counselors have to face
27. The Bloody Chamber
As a feminist, it is almost to be expected that many of Angela Carter s happy ever
after endings will strike the reader with a bold feminist message. However, in The
Bloody Chamber, this is not necessarily the case. Although there are several feminist
messages in the stories resolutions, these messages are not always presented in the
way one would expect, and not every femaleprotagonistis presented as a feminist
character. By taking the roles of typically Gothic women and toying with the
presentation of female characters, many of Carter s feminist messages are not as one
would expect. The eponymous story The Bloody Chamberends with a sense of
resolution, love and happiness. The antagonist of the story is no more, and the
narrator is able to live a happy and fulfilling life with Jean Yves. Whether the
ending is truly feminist, however, is open to discussion. In one respect, the actual
resolution to the story is all down to the narrator s mother, who is presented at the
story s climax as an incredibly powerful female figure. Carter uses masculine and
bestial imagery to describe the mother, in a way that is not dissimilar to earlier
imagery to describe the Marquis. The narrator refers to her mother s hair as her
white mane ; just as earlier she had referenced the Marquis s dark mane . The
juxtaposition between light and dark here is a typical example of Gothic extremes;
while the Marquis seems to represent darkness the supernatural and evil the mother is

Life in the Nineteen Fifties Throughout a period of time things begin to change,
rather it is for the better or for the worse. Our country has definitely changed for the
better. As time passes things like the way we dress, the features on a car, or even
things like the price of a carton of milk change. America has changed in many
forms throughout the years, rather it be our advancements in technology, our rules,
or the way we act as people. We as Americans tend to always take what we already
had and grow off of it, we are always advancing what we have. A time period of
major changes occurred in the nineteen fifties, where things began to change for the
better. In the nineteen fifties the population in America was growing at a more rapid...

In the movie, the majority of the characters are teenagers in high school; teenagers
were the driving force behind fashion during the nineteen fifties. As well as, the
way teenagers and young women dressed was influenced by the rock n roll craze.
Today, our fashion sense is way different than it was during that time period;
however, our fashion would not be the way it is today if it was not for the trends
that were popular throughout the fifties. In several ways, the nineteen fifties took a
turn in the fashion industry, especially for the woman. Before, while the men were
away fighting in World War II, women were sent to fill their spots in the factories.
At this point in time the way women dressed was heavily restricted to where they
must wear certain things, rather it be the length of their skirts to the size of their
collars; however, as women continued to work throughout the nineteen fifties, they
began to dress how they felt and dress more comfortable. Some popular fashion
trends during the nineteen fifties were poodle skirts for teenagers, slim pencil line
skirts for women, and saddle shoes. Stiletto heeled shoes also emerged in the early
nineteen fifties and there were a variety of different colors so you could get the pair
that match your shoes to your outfit. Women such as Audrey Hepburn helped inspire
the casual look, and Marilyn Monroe inspired tiny waistlines, full skirts, and busts.
On a different note, fashion for men during the nineteen fifties was very quiet and
conservative. Men mostly wore plain fabrics in dark, like blue, brown, and grey.
People were beginning to feel more freedom in the way that they dressed, their
rules were no longer as strict as they had been in the past and they could do what
they want; if they wanted to wear a dress that day they could, as well as they could
wear a skirt, or even pants. People no

Mr. Steorra s Bookstore stood lonely by the street. The lights from the window

30. A Comparison Of Mark Twain And Mark Twain
Nelson Mandela once said, Education is the most powerful weapon which you can
use to change the world. As the world grew, Mark Twain and Langston Hughes
became writers, poets, and so on. With the knowledge that Hughes and Twain had,
they made impacts on the world. However, the ability that these two men had allowed
them to be motivational historical figures. Still today, their works and ideas for
writing are still helpful to other writers. As writers, these two had fluent and
intellectual minds, they did not give up. So therefore, with Twain and Hughes being
such prominent figures with immaculate writing capabilities, their masterpieces can
be compared.
Twain said, ...it is good to begin life poor; it is good to begin life rich these are
wholesome; but to begin it prospectively rich! The man who has not experienced it

for Twain, he went through many obstacles. In addition, Mark Twain started
writing short stories that evolved over time. Not all people in the world have the
most wealthiest lifestyle, Twain, on the other hand, was born 2 months premature
and also had to deal with poor health for ten years of his life. Mark Twain had no
one to turn to for inspiration or motivation. Twain left school to become a printer s

manner that society could relate. For most of his life up until he was an adult

The importance of Roman Patronage in Society, Politics and Military.
Traditionally, Roman Society was extremely ridged. But by the first century, the need
for capable men to run Rome s vast empire was slowly moving away from the old
social barriers. Roman Patronage began to cultivate through the client patron
relationship, the importance of political power through possessions and the
tactfulness of greed and corruption through the military society. Patronage, which is
the client patron relationship system was what created the most cultural and social
infrastructure of the Roman Empire. Patronage was not only enclosed to the serving
the military or political stand points of Rome s livelihood. Patronage helped
establish the legal system, social ranking and display of status. There were two
classes, the upper class and the lower class which were the main classes of the ranked

Effectively Meeting the Learning Needs of an Online Learner
It is well documented that there are many factors for faculty to consider when
developing a course of study. A few issues are, socio economical background, varying
ages of students, cultural variances, educational experience, student preparedness,
and preferred learning strategies (Prithishkumar Michael, 2014). The learning process
results from instructional activity a student receives within an educational setting
and, there are also many influences that play a role in the progression of learning (Li,
Yu, Liu, Shieh, Yang, 2014). Some of these dynamics include, the student s interest in
the topic, motivation, individual principles, participation, affective domain of the
student, and preferred learning style (Prithishkumar Michael, 2014).
According to Li et al., 2014, learners have their preferred ways of perceiving,
organizing and retaining information that are distinct and consistent. Consequently,
individuals favor particular methods of interacting with, taking in, and processing
stimuli and information when they learn (p.230). There are a number of methods to
determine an individual s preferred learning style. Some of the tools available are,

33. How Did The Great Train Robbery Essay
The Great Train Robbery No crime in British history has ever come close to the Great
Train Robbery. It shocked the people of Britain as well as Scotland Yard who were
bewildered by just how well executed it was and how a group of convicts managed to

the price of their deeds as they would get 378 years in jail between them. But with

no intention of writing my research paper on this play, but as the semester continued,

Instead of writing that I found Troy despicable and without honor or dignity, I
found myself listing several reasons why he was, in fact, heroic. I looked at why
Troy Maxson did the things he did, instead of just looking at the things. I realized
how difficult it was for a black man to make it in a white mans world during the
fifties, when color alone influenced every aspect of life.
Fences can be viewed as a family play, it can also be viewed as a work specifically of
the black man s place, or plight, in a predominantly white world. Either way, it has
a very valuable message. It is a true art to be able to touch on so many aspects of
life in a work, aspects that may be viewed differently by different people.. Wilson s
work, and the character of Troy Maxson, makes me question many things, among
them myself, as well as his intended message. This is why I am so in awe of Fences,
and of Wilson s talent. This is why I am writing my paper on Fences.
I didn t know anything about August Wilson before I began my research. I was
very surprised to learn about his separatist views, because his play seemed so
universal to me. I was also very surprised to learn that he had left school two years
early because of a racial comment from a teacher, and that he had acquired the
remainder of his education from hours spent at the library. What I had not known
was that many aspects of Fences can be seen as

In the simplest terms, digital marketing is using electronic media to promote products
or brands. Digital marketing is different than traditional marketing in that it involves
the use of methods and channels that enable an organization to examine marketing
campaigns and comprehend what is working and what isn t normally in real time.
Digital marketers perceive things like what is being observed, how often and for
what length of time, sales conversions, what content works and what does not work,
etc. While the Internet is the channel most closely related with digital marketing,
others include mobile messaging, wireless text messaging, mobile apps, electronic
billboards, digital television, podcasts and radio stations, etc. The Importance of
Digital Marketing Digital media is so universal that consumers have access to
information any moment in time and any location of which they want it. Days are
gone when the messages we got about a product or service came from the
manufacturer and consisted of only what they wanted us to know. Digital media is a
constant changing source of shopping, entertainment, social interaction, and news,
and the end consumers are now exposed not only to what a company says about the
brand, but what the media, relatives, peers, friends, etc., are saying as well and we
are more likely to believe what we read on the internet than the company selling the
product or service. Individuals want products they can trust, businesses that know
them,
37. The Production Of Production Activities
Production Activities This section is an overview of the demands and tests
associated with the integrity of well during production from and injection to a
reservoir. The process begins after the well construction/well intervention
organization has handed the well over to the production organization and concludes
with a handover back to drilling and well organization for intervention, work over or
abandonment. Well integrity during this phase is used to keep hydrocarbons from
the pay zone inside the well and by protecting it from leaking off to contaminating
groundwater for environmental purposes. Well barriers are an envelope of one or
several dependent barrier elements preventing fluids or gases from flowing
unintentionally from the formation to the surface and are designed and used to
prevent leakages and reduce the risk associated with drilling, production and
intervention activities. The main functions of a well barrier are to prevent any major
hydrocarbon leakage(s) from the well to the external environment during normal
production or well operations and to shut in the well on direct command during an
emergency shutdown situation and thereby prevent hydrocarbons from flowing from
the well out. During production, a perfectly reliable well barrier element(s) is
paramount to containing the hydrocarbons inside the well. Well barrier elements are
several objects that prevent formation fluids from flowing inside the well. They could
be anything from packers or tubing or

Mesopotamia, or land between the rivers as the name translates to in Greek, is
exactly as it states; in the region of southwestern Asia, the land itself is named for it
s initial position between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. However, Mesopotamia
can be defined as having a reach into what is now Syria, Turkey and most of Iraq
(History of Mesopotamia, 2016). This ancient civilization houses one of the earliest
cities throughout human history, appearing around 3500 BC, though human
settlement looks to have arrived some time before. From the many achievements that
stemmed from this great society, a number of conflicts and significant warfare follow
suit as this ancient culture would eventually fade and fall among the ranks as a
historical mark in the ongoing timeline of humanity. Often time referred to as The
Cradle of Civilization , Mesopotamia consisted of plains to the north and flourished
jungles and aquatic life to the south. For their other resources such as, timber, stones,
and metals, they had to be imported from East of the civilization. Cities developed
solely around the rivers, though expanded further out than just the area between the
two watercourses, giving them an advantage for agriculture needs such as irrigation.
Mesopotamia s geographical placement was a complicated matter due to
inconsistencies with the river Tigriswould later prove to conflict with the nearby
inhabitants. Tigris is a rough, fast flowing and harsh river, establishing itself to be

Kant demonstrates a tenet of Liberalism. Also, he proposes a federation of nations

the hopes of becoming the foundation for a perpetual peace. (Perpetual Peace pg. 4)
His reasoning is that if all nations were republics, citizens would have the power to
determine whether or not there will be war and would be much more analytical before

Descriptive Writing in Literature!
Literature indulges us in a different world by using descriptive writing that paints a
vivid picture in our mind. Every author has a different way to accomplish that, but
the main purpose is to draw the reader into the desired place and time of the
literature. I will compare two poems and one story that capture the imagination by a
descriptive writing. First we will take a closer look how these authors accomplished
their transition of us into their world and then we will compare if those works have
something in common. Grabbing the attention of a reader is not an easy thing
especially that each person has a different view of the world, and one ... Show more

The second stanza holds the key to the incredible descriptive writing that took us
on a journey: And for an Everlasting Roof The Gambrels of the Sky . No house
could be complete without a roof; or could it? How could we imagine a house
without a roof, or could the sky be our roof? The options are limitless the metaphor
is excellent and the descriptive writing although not detailed still fulfilled its
purpose of invoking a vivid picture that will last in our mind forever (Dickinson,
2007). Each author used different method of descriptive writing; some left us more
room to play with our imagination than others. What matters the most is that not
only a colorful picture is painted in our mind, but also emotions are clearly
portrayed. To indulge the reader all three authors use the power of words. In poem
The Fish I stared and stared and victory filled up the little rented boat...until
everything was rainbow, rainbow, rainbow! We can imagine the sight of a fisherman
that caught a tremendous fish and is really happy, and more importantly in those few
lines we can fell that joy and positive energy that illuminates this image in our head.
The emotions are almost screaming through the fisherman and the renewal of life
after releasing the fish can be felt in us the readers as well. Also the author
accomplished sympathy toward the fish without ever mentioning fear or eagerness to
escape the terrible future that was meant for it. He accomplished that

What to Do If Someone You Love Has Neuropathy
If someone you love has neuropathy and suffers from chronic, often debilitating
pain, you probably know all too well how seriously it can wear a person down
physically, emotionally, spiritually and affect their overall quality of life.
Sometimes though, it s hard to know exactly what to do for someone who is
chronically ill, especially when you are also feeling the effects of your loved ones
illness. While you can t solve all of their problems, you can certainly be there to
support them and help manage their discomfort.
Understand their pain
The unique and complicated factors that surround neuropathy often make it difficult
for someone to communicate what they re going through. Particularly ... Show more

On the other hand, the nerves may not send a pain signal even if something is
injuring them.
Fighting pain can take everything a person has just to get through the day. Sometimes
the person may struggle so hard to cope with the constant onslaught of pain that they
can t see the stress they are inflicting on others. Don t take things personally and try
to put yourself in their shoes. Questioning his or her pain is hurtful to the person
experiencing it and can erode the relationship between you and your loved one.
How to help specifically with neuropathy
One of the most common complications of diabetes is diabetic neuropathy. In fact,
between 60 to 70 percent of people with diabetes have some form of neuropathy
according to the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases.
If someone you love has neuropathic diabetes they may be experiencing pain,
tingling, or numbness (loss of feeling) in the hands, arms, feet and legs. And they
could even have nerve problems in every organ system, including the digestive tract,
heart and sex organs. The type of pain he or she feels depends on the type of
neuropathy they have. There are four classifications of diabetic neuropathy peripheral
neuropathy, autonomic neuropathy, proximal neuropathy and focal neuropathy and
each affects different parts of the body in a different way.
Clearly, the pain your loved one is experiencing is real, and because of the chronic
pain they may prefer to withdraw and

The Hudson River school represents the first native genre of distinctly American art.
The school began to produce art works in the early 1820s; comprised of a group of
loosely organized painters who took as their subject the unique naturalness of the
undeveloped American continent, starting with the Hudson River region in New
York, but eventually extending through space and time all the way to California and
the 1870s. During the period, that the school s artists were active (c. 1820 1870) the
nation was in the process of undergoing momentous political, social, and economic
change. The works that the Hudson River School painters comprised reflected the
changes that were taking place across the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Man s small stature implies a harmony with nature as well as his place in God s
larger plan. The artists use the physical geology of America to show the vast
differences between Europe and America they do this in the form of mountains.
To Cole, the sky represented the soul of all scenery , the truly sublime in the
landscape as well as spirituality.
The lack of ruins was one of the surest signs that America was both young and new
and free of the corruption of monarchy. The corruption of monarchy was implied by
the presence of ruins on the landscape. Cole wrote, You see no ruined tower to tell of
outrage no gorgeous temple to speak of ostentation; but freedom s offspring peace
security, and happiness, dwell there, the spirits of the scene.
Storms had several different meanings. While they would eventually come to
represent both the coming sectional crisis and tension over the encroaching
technology that was threatening the landscape, their original purpose was to
represent the dark and violent side of Mother Nature.
Trees came to be thought of as the true hero s of Hudson River art, thus is expressed
in this quote from Cole. They are like men...they exhibit striking peculiarities, and
sometimes grand originality. The trees of the American landscape have a primitive
quality that sets them apart from Europe, and their autumnal color surpasses all the
world in gorgeousness. Water Falls came to represent
