My Mentor Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Mentor" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, but
delving into the intricacies of such a personal and nuanced subject can pose a considerable
challenge. The difficulty lies not only in narrating the experiences and lessons learned from a
mentor but also in striking the right balance between admiration and objectivity.
To begin with, one must navigate the fine line between expressing gratitude and avoiding
excessive idealization. It's easy to fall into the trap of portraying a mentor as flawless, but an
effective essay requires a realistic portrayal that captures the mentor's humanity, including their
strengths and perhaps even some shortcomings. Balancing admiration with an honest evaluation
of the mentor's impact can be a delicate task.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to articulating the intangible qualities that make a mentor-
mentee relationship meaningful. The essay should not merely list accomplishments or recount
events; it should delve into the mentor's guidance, wisdom, and the transformative effect on the
writer's personal and professional growth. This demands a deep introspection into one's own
experiences, self-awareness, and the ability to articulate abstract concepts.
Additionally, the essay must be structured coherently, presenting a chronological or thematic
progression that makes the narrative engaging and easy to follow. Finding the right words to
convey the depth of emotions and the significance of the mentor's influence is crucial. Striking a
balance between descriptive detail and concise expression can be a constant struggle.
In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "My Mentor" requires not only proficient
writing skills but also a keen understanding of the complexities involved in recounting a personal
journey of mentorship. The writer must navigate the emotional landscape, maintain objectivity,
and provide a compelling narrative that captures the essence of the mentor-mentee relationship.
It's a challenging endeavor that demands both introspection and effective communication.
For those finding this task daunting, it's worth noting that assistance is available. Similar essays

Summary Of Jude s The Of Jude
JOURNAL OF JUDE
BY: ROSECEL M. RENDON 1. EPISTLE S AUTHORSHIP
Jude was the brother of Jesus and he wrote this epistle after he became a believer in
Jesus Christ. We need to remember as it is written, Jude and James, both brothers of
Jesus, did not believe that He was the Messiah, the son of God. But after His
resurrection everything changed and now he called himself a brother of James and a
servant of Jesus Christ which shows the humility of Jude and the unimportance for
him to be the half brother of Jesus in human terms but most important to believe in
Him as our savior and king. To Jude, the blood of the cross was more important than
the family blood.
2. DATE OF WRITING
The Epistle of Jude is closely related to 2 Peter, and the date of writing depends on
whether Jude borrowed from 2 Peter or 2 Peter borrowed from Jude. It is believed it
was written somewhere between the years 60 to 80 A.D.
3. PURPOSE AND OCCASION OF WRITING: Jude had to deal with the dangers
of false doctrines sneaking in the church. There were godless men, false teachers
who were living sinful lives and misrepresenting the grace of God, they denied the
Lordship of Jesus Christ and began teaching doctrines of self righteousness and a
false freedom they represented. This brought Jude, led by the Holy Spirit, to deal
strongly with these men, false teachers. In his epistle, he perfectly describes the
character, deception, lies, and modus operandi of these men and contrast it with the
character of a true
Social Issue Of Immigration
Today like yesterday, the day before that, and a hundred years ago the United States
continues to face many social issues. But one prevalent issue that has continued to be
the source of much controversy is immigration. Founded on immigration this issue is
not new to this country. Although it s an issue that has been around for many years
the mixed sentiments directed at it have only continued to become more prevalent.
This may be due to the various perspectives from which it is viewed. The way in
which an issue is looked at is influenced by various factors which become evident
when the issue of immigrationis discussed. One said factor would be where on the
political spectrum individual falls. For example, a liberal would view immigration...

Its makeup up which has led to it being nicknamed a melting pot is clearly reflected
in its political culture as it is composed of people with different ideologies, ages,

country it is today as Lincoln once said the United States has a Government of the
people, by the people, for the people. Without the people, this government wouldn t
be a democracy. Unfortunately, not all people in this country have come to this
realization as voter turnout is still low among some groups, specifically among
younger people, although it can be hoped for that through education they will come to
the conclusion that talking alone does not get the job done. What gets the job done is
acting. In other words voting but more importantly doing so in an educated
Al Capone Essay
Alphonse SCARFACE Capone
Born in New York City, in 1899, by parents Gabriel and Teresa Capone, Alphonse
Capone was blessed with a historical blend of ruthless gangster in his blood. Al
Capone s parents immigrated to the United States in 1893, from Naples, Italy. Al
Capone came from a huge family. He was the fourth oldest of nine children. At birth,
Capone s parents never would have believed that their son, Alphonse Capone, would
grow up to be a murderous thug without remorse. As a child, Al Caponewas very
wise when it came to living on the streets of New York. He had a clever and
somewhat ingenious mind when it came to street smarts. If the act of plotting a
crime was in question, Al Capone was as sharp as they come. As far... Show more

The principal of the school rushed in and chastised the young Capone and for this
very reason he would never return to school again.
After giving up on school, Al Capone took up odd jobs such as working as a pin
setter at a bowling alley, and working behind the counter at a candy store. Capone
was definitely a night owl. He was a pool shark winning every eightball tournament
held in Brooklyn. He also became an expert knife fighter. Although the Bim Booms
Gang was the first gang Capone ever entered, The Five Pointers quickly picked him
up. The Five Pointers was the most powerful gang in New York City. The gang was
headed by Johnny Torrio, and was made up of over 1,500 thugs who specialized in
burglary, extortion, robbery, assault, and murder. While working as a strong
enforcer under Torrio, Capone learned all the lethal tricks that would propel him
from rags to riches in no time at all. Capone was very grateful to Torrio and is
quoted as saying: I looked on Johnny as my adviser and father and the party that
made it possible for me to get my start.
In 1925, Capone became boss when Torrio, seriously wounded in an assassination
attempt, surrendered control and retiring to Brooklyn. Capone had built a fearsome
reputation in the ruthless gang rivalries of the period, struggling to acquire and retain
racketeering rights to several areas of Chicago. That reputation grew as rival gangs
were eliminated or mollified, and the
Last Night At The Blue Angel
I have read many novel and this novel called Last Night at the Blue Angel captured
my interest because it is about the heartbreaking relationship between a mother and
her Ten years old daughter. As a single mother, Naomi ambitious extremely self
destructive and only her daughter Sophia know her better than those who around her.
By growing up in adult world, Sophia sometime feel outcast without having any
friends at her age. Fortunately, there is a new student attend at her school named
Elizabeth who is the first black girl attending at that school. Later, she becomes
Sophia best friend. This noveltake a place during Civil Right Protest from 1951 to
1965 in Kansas and Chicago, IL. The author describes Kansas as a home of windy
and Chicago as an uneasy tension and the Cold War, but it is also a home for
country s most influential jazz in this novel. Most importantly, the author tells the
unforgettable story of Naomi and Sophia when she says What happens when our
passion for life we want is at sharp odds with the life we have (Rotert). This novel
divided by two part with two different setting and story of Naomi and Sophia.
Because in Chapter one through five, the author tells the story about how Sophia
grows up in adult world with her mother and her mother s friends. Because of
uncertain home life, Sophia fears that the world could end at any moment so, she
writes down the list of practical object that will need to be invented all over again

Mountains. This paper will cover the scope of the events of the Monument Fires as
well as the basic summary of need for the State of Arizona for Federal Emergency
Management Agency (FEMA) funding. Background. On June 12, 2011 in Sierra
Vista, Arizona a city near the Mexican border, a suspected human caused fire was
started within the Coronado National Monument Park, along the southern tip of
the Huachuca Mountains in Southern Arizona and quickly shot through the
canyons south of the city of Sierra Vista. Over the course of 14 days, the wildfire
burned to some extent 100% of the park s acreage; destroyed a total of 62 homes,
18 outbuildings and 4 businesses (Youberg Pearthree, 2011) and mandatory
evacuations were in effect due to the fires moving quickly towards the outskirts
along with the danger of the smoke that blanketed the town. The fire was wind
driven spread and was aided by high temperatures and low humidity. The
Monument Fire burned 30,526 acres by the time of containment a month later on
July 12. Unfortunately, the disaster would not over when the fire was finally
extinguished. A burned landscape presents a number of safety hazards that either
did not exist prior to the fire or are increased by the effects of the fire. These types
of hazardous conditions may continue for several years after a fire. The fire had
destroyed the grasslands and trees that grew along the canyons of the
Effects Of War On The Army And National Guard Essay
Effects of War on the Army vs National Guard The Soldier started his career in the
United States (U.S.) Army in 1987, completing Basic Training (BT) and Advanced
Individual Training (AIT) at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma as a cannon crewmember. His initial
active duty enlistment was for three years but due to Operations Desert Shield and
Desert Storm, the Soldier fell under Operation Stop Loss, delaying his initial
expiration term of service (ETS) date by six months. During his enlistment with the
U.S. Army, he saw a couple of major changes within the Modified Table of
Organization and Equipment (MTOE). Each of these changes resulted in his current
unit changing in strength and equipment. Although at the time, this young Soldier
did not completely understand the complexity of the changes, he did understand how
the changes affected how his section completed their daily duties and his direct chain
of command. For example, the U.S. Army s Field Artillery units changed from a three
by six gun concept to three by eight units. With this change, artillery firing batteries
acquired additional Soldiers and equipment. The U.S. Army did not seem to have any
issues filling vacant positions with enlisted Soldiers, Non commissioned Officers
(NCOs), or Officers. This MTOE change caused growth, which allowed promotions
through Permanent Change of Station (PCS) thus allowing more junior enlisted
positions to become available. Recruiters then fill the junior enlisted positions without

Acne Skin Care Research Paper
Acne skin care for some is easy, while others with severe acne breakouts struggle on
a regular basis to keep there pimples under control. Others fall somewhere in
between the two extremes, they suffer only from occasional outbreaks. No matter
which class you fall into, an acne outbreak is not enjoyable and finding the one way
to treat acne that works can be a complicated and exasperating process.
The crucial process of acne skin care is to keep pores from getting clogged,
unclogging infected pores, and attack the bacteria that causes the infection. Quality

the benefits of antibacterial and anti inflammatory products. Both of these
ingredients can help to treat the existing acne and reduce the redness and swelling
that often accompanies a breakout. Another common ingredient is azelaic acid. One
ingredient used on the face is salicylic acid, if you choose to use salicylic acid you
need to apply it with caution. While this ingredient can help to prevent the pores from
clogging, it can be too irritating to sensitive facial skin.
People with severe acne will need to consult a dermatologist or physician for help
with their acne control. A dermatologist might suggest a cleansing regime, use lights
or lasers to treat and prevent future breakouts, they may also prescribe medication.
If prescribe medication, you should always ask about and be wary of the side

effects may only be discomforting, while others are permanent. Acne prescriptions
have even been linked with depression, with a few resulting in
Constructive Criticism Of Social Work
The time when I received constructive criticism would be when I started my first
part time job. I work at a grocery store in my home, called Country Mart. When I
first started, I was not as fast as the other cashiers when it came to checking the
customers out. I was still learning how to work the register. I would also get caught
in conversation with the customers causing the transaction to take more time. My
manager, Garry Brown, noticed this and talked with me. He commended me on
being extremely social and friendly, but wanted me to limit my social interactions
with the customers. Mr. Brown did not want to keep customers waiting too long
while at the check outs. Mr. Brown also asked I practice on becoming faster on
register. After the talk

The Element of Great City
The film, Before Sunset, is about a couple who spent a passionate day together and
separated get back again in Paris. Paris has so much history and tradition all over the
city. These remarkable landmarks and classical architecture are pervading over the
city and it represents a history of France. Another unique about the Paris is that unlike
any other cities, Paris makes the best use of what they have and maintain its
characteristics while they modernize rebuilding the city. It looks like their attempt
succeed and tourist from all over the world constantly show their love in Paris.
However, it could be a different story for people who live in Paris. Of the planning
and urban environment related issues in the film, the inconvenience of development
and access, the complicated transportation system, and underdevelopment of
residential districts. These planning issues cause a structural conflict on city
planning and also a discomfort of daily life for people live in Paris.
People s daily life sacrifices the convenience to maintain the city s history. In Whose
Culture? Whose City? sociologist Sharon Zukin suggested that Gentrification,
historic preservation, and other cultural strategies to enhance the visual appeal of
urban spaces developed as major trends . For example, the historical and classic
buildings in Paris are one of main reasons that people love about the Paris. Most of
buildings are hundreds years old at least and they have their own

Introduction: In 2013, the US chocolate sales topped $17 billion dollars. It should
not be a surprise that chocolate is a snack that is consumed by a majority of
Americans. Chocolate has been a part of our history since America s birth. From
the early settlers of America to the space traveling US astronauts, chocolate has
been a part of American history. Tonight we will trace how chocolate has been with
our country from the earliest beginnings, during the great times for growth and
prospering to the difficult times of war and the Great Depression, to the 21st
century. (Transition: Looking back to early America, chocolate was a staple.) Early
America Colonial Times 1620 After explorers Columbus and Cortez traveled to the
Americas in the late 1400s, they returned to Europe with ships full of a variety of
trade goods, including some cacao beans. A 1000 years later, when European settlers
returned to America to set up colonies they brought chocolate with them. At this time
the drink was made with chocolate solids, some sugar and warm water. In Europe
this somewhat bitter drink was expensive and just for the upper class and royalty. In

Being able to understand how people from different cultures and religions

the purpose of efficient negotiations and merges different cultures into more tolerant
cohesive existence. It is imperative that these same principles are utilized when

The Cultural and Human Elements of the Great Bob Marley s Music One of the
elements of being human in Bob Marley s life was his religious beliefs in
Rastafarianism and the way it influenced his music. Social justice issues, social
classes, dialect, the government and economic systems of Jamaica are some of the
cultural elements that were a great part of Bob Marley s music, along with his faith,
that helped inspired countless of his musical achievements. In addition to, he weaved

In addition to, he sang about the poverty and the drastic wealth inequality between
the rich and the poor in both Jamaica and the world, and about the tension and
conflicts this generates in the song Belly Full . Most of Bob Marley s songs are
written and sung in Patois, an English Dialect spoken in the British Caribbean,
mainly in the island of Jamaica. This human and cultural element of language is
culture specific to the island of Jamaica since humans diffused and collaborated
various languages to form the dialect of Patois. In a 1975 interview by Karl Dallas
with Bob Marley, he stated, No, he can t unnerstand that, he says in an aside to
Taylor. That s a patois. It s not straight English you can write. Sometimes we sing in
patois. I believe, as well as Bob Marley, that music is a universal language that the
artist definitely uses to express themselves in ways only they can through their
music. There are many musicians expressing their beliefs, visions, lifestyles, etc...
in a dialect that their audience can comprehend through the music they put together
for the world to appreciate, as the great Bob Marley did. As Mrs. Judy Garlan

The Total Cost And Total Duration Of A Project Manager
In real situation, a project manager would certainly attempt to reduce total cost and
total duration of a project. Therefore, the best amount of leveling may occur when
both the total cost and the total duration are minimised. Generally, the total cost of a
project will greatly depended on the total duration. In other words, in most cases, a
plan with minimum total project duration will stand for the best amount of
leveling. The best amount of leveling should take a balanced view with concern about
the client s demands, the project objects and the availability of different types of
resources. For single resource, in small projects, their resource could be leveled by
inspection; in larger projects is to select a target maximum for a resource. Moreover,
when dealing with multiple resources, managers should decide which resource
should be leveled first, i.e., largest fluctuating resources, resource with largest
penality, high cost equipment. Other resource leveling method include extending the
project duration, compressing activities, and splitting activities.
Although it is ideal to have each task started and finished in the earliest period, this
situation may not be found in real cases. In most of time, the resource required to
launching multiple tasks is greater than the maximum available resources.
Consequently, some tasks have to be delayed to start after others are finished.
The steps of resource leveling are dramatically. As the previous figure shown above,
each task
To Kill A Mockingbird Analysis
According to harsh baptists in Harper Lee s, To Kill A Mockingbird, women are a
sin by definition (Lee 50). In the 1930s, society deemed a woman s place to be in
the house. Today, women have made strides in defining who they are for
themselves. Over the years women have faced a great deal of oppression.
Nonetheless, they have rebutted society s definition of women regarding their
education, their appearance, their job, and their fight for equal rights. Women
from the 1930s, the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, and women s lives in the present
day are different as, women from the 1930s and the novel face more conflicts when
it comes to their education and rights, while women s lives in the present day are
less daunting in getting an education or defying the typical female role, they are
also similar as they both face problems in the workplace and both struggle with
society s views about them. The women of the 1930s faced many challenges getting
an education compared to today. In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Scout is
excited when she first attends school, she is excited; however, it effaces by the end
of the day. Scout cannot quite grasp what she is missing out from in the education
she is currently receiving, yet Scout knows there is something else that she can
obtain. The mediocre and tedious learning is not what Scout thought the goal of the
school system was(Lee 37). In the novel, her teacher, Ms. Caroline, discourages
Scout from reading and writing outside of class. To
10 Things I Hate About You Comparison
10 Things I Hate About You Comparison to Taming of the Shrew
10 Things I Hate About You is a movie directed by Gil Junger based on the play
Taming of the Shrew. In this movie, we can see countless similarities and
differences, all the way to the small details. And while at times it may seem like a
whole other story, it is clear that 10 Things I Hate About Youwas based on this
Shakespearean play, popular all around the world.
Starting with the differences, Kat, in the movie, is outspoken and makes her opinion
heard. While Katherine turns to physical violence, because she always feels inferior
to everyone around her. Although they are both shrews of sorts, they act out in
distinct ways. Another dissimilarity is that Kat and Patrick (Petruchio) actually fall in
love. Even though Patrick originally started chasing her for the money, he eventually
stops caring about the money. In the play, however, it doesn t really seem that
Petruchio truly fell in love with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One obvious one is the setting of both stories. The movie takes place in town
called Padua and the students go to Padua High School. The play also is in a town
called Padua where Lucentio and Tranio arrive to go to university. An additional
resemblance between the two is how Bianca and Kat s dad will only allow Bianca
to date once Kat starts dating and Bianca knows that won t happen anytime soon.
Similarly, in the play Bianca is told by her dad that she can get married after
Katherine gets married. Following this happening, in both the play and movie,
Lucentio seeks out Petruchio to be with Katherine, so that he can be with Bianca.
Another large connection is the fact that everyone ends up with who they did in the
play. For example, Cameron and Bianca, Patrick and Kat, and Joey (Hortensio) and
Chastity (Widow). In the end, everyone is content with their lives, just like the actual

Mirandola states that, because man was created after the completion of the
universe¬ the highest, the middle, and the lowest orders he did not fit with any of
these orders and instead fell somewhere in the middle. This idea that man was
created outside the bounds of every other creature, and therefore was innately
different from conception is integral to Mirandola s argument. If man was created to
be intrinsically special from the rest of creation, then the gift of free will is that

The Importance Of Bullying In High School
Bill Gates once said, Be nice to nerds. Chances are you ll end up working for one. I
wish that I had heard this quote before I went to high school. I spent the first part
of my education needing some inspiration similar to this. To explain, I was bullied
in Elementary School. From Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, I was teased because I
was too smart. There were several times that I would hide on the back of the bus
crying after a full day of insults. There was one boy at my school that was the worst.
His name was Chaska Lacey. Chaska loved making new insults and nicknames
every day to insult my intelligence. And it wasn t always at school either. Once I
was jogging through the town of Waverly in order to stay in shape for basketball
season. I was running at a decently consistent pace before I passed Chaska and his
younger brother, Jolon. I kept on running because I didn t want to talk to him. He
started following and shouting abuse at me. He said things such as, Hey, Booky. I
didn t know that you could do anything except read. Look at those legs. I didn t
think that running was even possible for someone that spent that much time doing
homework. Can you teach me to read, please? I eventually out ran him, however it
wasn t before his words made me feel that people didn t know who I was. People only
saw that I was a pair of glasses stuck in a book. I know that what he told me was not
incredibly rude, but it still hurt me. I wanted for someone to realize that I was much

Late Night Show Satire
Just a few years ago, late night shows were a way for celebrities to promote their
new movie, TV series, or music. The host would just conduct light hearted interviews
and harmless, interactive games. Jimmy Kimmel has had guests read hate tweets;
James Corden has sang karaoke while driving guest stars; Jimmy Fallon has
competed in lip sync battles against guests; SNL has invited guests to temporarily
replace Pandora. Now, instead of simple comedy, some hosts are injecting political
commentary in their news updates and monologues. Over the last year, late night
television ratings have shifted. Fiery shows like Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and
The Late Show with Stephen Colberthave seen an influx of viewers; whereas the
apolitical Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon has begun to decline. TV preferences,
show content, and social dynamics have transitioned to be more political,
demonstrating that our society is becoming more tribal, more group oriented. Last
year, pre Trump, Jimmy Fallon had the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

same opinions as us has encouraged comedians to alter their content. Furthermore,
they have become more overt in their beliefs because of the viewers. If viewers did
not want to see someone bashing Trump, they would not tune in. But people choose

The Old English Baron Essay
1. Cease to look upon Edmund as the enemy of your house; look upon him as a
son, and make him so indeed! How say you, Sir Philip? My son! Yes, my Lord;
give him your daughter: He is already your son in filial affection! Your son William
and he are sworn brothers; what remains but to make him yours? He deserves such a

Sir Phillip, a Christian, felt compassion and loyalty towards peasants/servants and

Lord Fitz Owen requesting Edmund s true acceptance into his family , ingraft into

having Edmund ingrafted will be rewarding in more ways than one, hinting towards
future generations of the Baron s family reaping the benefits of this courtship. Sir
Phillip initially wanted Edmund as his own son, wanting to continue his legacy with
a family. Even Edmund, a self believed peasant, was surprised a knight as grand as
Phillip wanted him to serve as a son. Phillip was well aware of Edmund s status, but
focused rather on Edmund s abilities as a charismatic, well mannered, young man.
Edmund denied this grand opportunity due to his relationship with the Baron and his

Analysing Invisible Man Essay
Analysing Invisible Man
After reading this book I wondered what it would be like to be blind then gain
sight, but realize you cannot see yourself because you are invisible. It seems like a
cruel joke that once you can see you realize that you still cannot see who you are.
Even though this seems like a very depressing event Ellison makes it seem like a
positive thing. While, at the end of the story, the narrator still does not know his
place in the world he seems to be glad that he is no longer blindfolded. He even
questions the reader s ability to see, Who knows but that, on some lower
frequencies, I speak for you? What Ellison does well is the evolution of the narrator s
blindness. The blindness motif seems to first show ... Show more content on

Now at this point the narrator is still blindfolded, and he seems to be moved by the
speech and still have some faith in Bledsoe. I mean, he obviously trusts him with
the letters. If he did not he would have opened them before he gave them to the
prospective employers. One of the first times the narrator removes a blindfold (I
say a blindfold because he wears many) is when he eats the yams in the street. Yes
this act gives him a sense of freedom, but it gives him an even greater realization. He
believes that he can judge a good yam by merely looking at it. You don t have to
convince me...I can look at it and see it s good. He is making a blind assumption at
this point, and on top of that he is doing the very thing that others do to him. He is
making a judgment on something based on its outward appearance. When he eats
the frostbitten yam he realizes that he cannot make a clear judgment on things
based on that appearance only. This can even be brought back to his original
assessment of Dr. Bledsoe. The removal of the blindfolds help in the discovery of
the narrator s own identity. However, when he joins the Brotherhood he is once
again blinded. This is shown during the speeches in chapter sixteen. He is afraid that
he will become someone else, and the spotlight then blinds him. The Brotherhood
hinders his search for who he is. He is trying to find his place in history, but he
believes that only through the Brotherhood, who places no value on the

NGS s structure also passes the Parenting Advantage Test (2) in some scenarios. The
senior management does a good job of communicating the firm s strategy on a regular
basis, creates task forces comprising of leaders from all groups and facilitates input
from the entire organization through employee attitude surveys.
Although NGS s unique content and sound leadership have led to its previous
success, new developments in the digital space have surfaced cultural and structural
deficiencies. One of the main weaknesses is a lack of coordination. This weakness is
the Achilles heel of the organization, and proves its detriment when applying the
Market Advantage, Parenting Advantage, People, Difficult Links, and Flexibility
Tests (1, 2, 3, 6 and 9 respectively). Looking at the Market Advantage Test, it appears
that there is sufficient management in place to oversee each of the market segments
that NGS competes in; however, there is poor communication across the groups,
making it difficult to collaborate and maximize the profitability of each. Similarly,
when administering the Parenting Advantage and Difficult Links Tests, it is clear
that Link and Leverage Propositions are not used by NGS. The current organization
fails to coordinate the efforts of each unit, and therefore cannot leverage the strengths
of each, without potentially diminishing the efforts of the others. According to the

Angola. This 27 year long civil war, that killed an estimated 800,000 people and
displace 4 million people, broke out on 11 November 1975, right after the Portuguese

between three predominant liberation movements. It is important for us to study this
civil war as we can learn many lessons from this major event in history, and make
use of the information gathered from this to help us understand how these similar

Risk Management Plan of Walmart

risk management (ERM) plan that was developed internally in the 1990 s that
includes five steps. These five steps are (Atkinson, 2005): Step One Risk
Identification Step Two Risk Mitigation Step Three Action Planning Step Four
Performance Metrics Step Five Shareholder Value/Return on Investment The first
step is to identify the risk. In some cases this can be a difficult task; especially when
the risk stems from the external environment. There are many tools that can help
organizations to help identify potential risks. Once the risk is identified then the next
step that Wal Mart uses is to try to determine possible courses that would allow them
to mitigate the risk. Not all risks are easy to mitigate. For example, external risks
such as a recession might be difficult to mitigate for nearly any organization. Once the
possible risk mitigations strategies are compiled then the next step is to create an
action plan in which puts into action the different mitigation strategies. The next step
is to determine if the plan worked or not. Thus performance metrics have to be
constructed to determine the effectiveness of the action plan. Finally, the last step
that Wal Mart conducts is to use the financial tools to determine how it will affect the
shareholders. Discuss how your organisation evaluates projects

The Power Of English Masculinity In Shakespeare s
Catriona
Both Jeremy and Leo use their English masculinity to charm their way into Catriona s
home, and eventually her bed. As the men spend more time with Catriona, they
develop a sexual relationship with her which does not read as entirely consensual.
When Jeremy has sex with Catriona for the first time, he acknowledges the strength
of his body and the nature in which she generously gave herself to him. Hogan
describes the aftermath of the event, claiming that Catriona, looked more like an Irish
country girl after that because she engaged in a dirty activity, further isolating her
from English modesty. At this point, Jeremy s dominance and Northern Irish blood
corresponds more with Englandthan Catriona s, even though she grew up in England.
Both Carthage and Jeremy use sex, or the result of sex, to exemplify their power
over seemingly weak, Irish females.
Despite the overwhelmingly destructive power of British men and their desire to
revoke free will from feminine Irish protagonists, Miles, Hester, and Catriona all
claim power to escape their tumultuous worlds. When Desmond finally checks
back up on Miles after years of separation, he finds Miles outside of a gay bar,
smiling at his next customer. Even though Dublin ostracized Miles for his mother s
work as a prostitute, he finds himself in the same profession, working to claim his
own sexuality and power over his body. Throughout his personal endeavours, Miles
embodies symbolic characteristics of a swan, as he nearly

Film, By Max Horkheimer And Theodor Adorno
There is no doubt that film is a powerful mode of cultural production that caters to
politicians, academics, and the general public. We are, in our quotidian existence,
unwittingly exposed to a stunning amount of sensorial stimulation. Much of this
stimulation comes from film, a form of media that has captivated sociologists,
psychologists, and philosophers. In the Frankfurt School, Max Horkheimerand
Theodor Adorno interpret the sociopolitical implications of film differently from
Walter Benjamin. Horkheimer and Adorno see film as a means to deceive and
manipulate the proletariat although Benjamin critiques capitalist exploitation of film,
he argues that film can serve revolutionary purposes. In the context of historical film,
Benjamin s arguments are more convincing than Horkheimer and Adorno s; film is
not inherently authoritarian or oppressive. Rather, the manner film is employed socio
politically is what defines its roles in mass culture. In The Culture Industry:
Enlightenment as Mass Deception, Horkheimer and Adorno argue that the
bourgeoisie use film as a means to impose control over the proletariat. They base their
argument on how culture today is infecting everything with sameness (Horkheimer
94). That is, the ubiquity of mass culture allows for the bourgeoisie to infect everyone
with certain notions. Horkheimer and Adorno view film as a useful way of
indoctrinating the masses it quickly imparts information through the same medium.

The Embargo On Cuba And The United States
In December 2014, President Obama started restoring diplomatic relations with Cuba.
Cuba and the United States have been hostile since the Cuban Revolution of 1959,
when Fidel Castro overthrew the US supportedbacked dictator, Fulgencio Batista, and
established a Communist regime. The US rejected Castro s bid for equal economic
partnership because they wanted to maintain economic dominance. As such, Castro
began seizing US assets, causing back and forth actions that culminated in Presidents
Eisenhower and Kennedy placing an embargo in 1960 61. The embargo was
intensified in the 1990s, and attempts to relax sanctions cannot succeed without
Congress repealing the laws responsible for the embargo. Despite arguments that it
would help fight human rightsviolations, the US embargo on Cubashould be lifted
because of its historic ineffectiveness, the potential economic advantages of a repeal,
and the democratic values shown by the popularity of a repeal.
Historically, the embargo has been caused by errant foreign policy, and has failed
to achieve its goals for 55 years. As President Obama said, These 50 years have
shown that isolation has not worked . . . We will end an outdated approach that for
decades has failed to advance our interests (Baker). Cuba aligned with the USSR
partly because of initial US hostility, and such policy is called an egregious foreign
policy error, . . . in effect pushing Castro to become more inflexible (Walke and
Bourassa). Cuba lost Soviet aid

A Short Note On Elastic And Inelastic Traffic
Elastic and Inelastic Traffic In this day and age, the design of networks can puzzle
some individuals. In fact the naming of the devices within a network can be very
daunting if someone takes into account that everything can be named within a
network or internetwork. This might include items such as workstations, printers,
servers, switches, routers, mobile devices, and tablets. A great designed and
executed naming style could easily permit the users the ability to browse with
ease and connect to these pieces of equipment by name. Each device s name is the
beginning of the variables that need to be checked into, and also the network
address. The different ways that are discussed within this paper apply to being able
to map an address with its name and varies from both static host files and dynamic
domain name systems (DDNS) (Mitchell, 2015). Unlike DNS that simply functions
with static IP addresses, DDNS is also created to support dynamic IP addresses, like
those that are appointed by a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server
(Mitchell, 2015). The utilization of dynamic name resolution methods are at many
times the best decision. The naming method that is chosen must be constant all over
the network and names need to be unique, significant, and small. This naming
method will also allow a user to look for and identify names that are assigned to the
devices. Development of an Addressing and Naming Model Within the scenario
given, the organization is made up of ten

Zen Buddhism And The Law Of Karma

Frankenstein As A Villain In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein
In Mary Shelley s Frankenstein, the lead character Victor Frankenstein created life.
Towards the beginning of this novel the creature would be considered a victim.
Victor resented him for what he was even when Victor was his creator. This led the
creature to run out into the world on his own, and this led to his downfall of being
a villain. The creature was very compassionate to others in the beginning of his
life, but like all stories the villain isn t born evil they develop over time. The
creature murders people in cold blood, knowingly leads a woman to her death, and
threatens Victor of making his life horrible. The creature travels to Geneva in
search of Victor, his creator, upon arriving there he searches for a place to spend
the night. He woke up to a boy walking into his hiding place, the creature wanted a
friend so he grabs the child. Out of the fear the child screams and struggles to get
away. Amidst his screaming he yells out that his father is Frankenstein, the
creature thinking that he meant Victor, he decides to take his revenge. I have
sworn eternal revenge; you shall be my first victim (Shelley 122). The creature
strangles the kid to death. I gazed on my victim, and my heart swelled with
exultation and hellish triumph (Shelly 122). The creature felt joy in killing this boy.
His first victim was a little boy who was no more than five years old. he is very tall

People sometimes become uneasy when we talk about the concept of diversity.

Yields on municipal bonds are often lower than corporate or Treasurybonds with
comparable maturities, because of the important advantage of not being taxed at the
government level. The feature of this bond is low default risk, may be exempt from
local authorities taxes and not very attractive.
c. Corporate bond
A type of bonds is issued by a corporation.Corporate bonds often pay higher rates
than government or municipal bonds, because they tend to be riskier. The
bondholder receives interest payments (yield) and the principal, usually
100,000VND, is repaid on a fixed maturity date (bonds can mature anywhere
between 1 to 30 years). Generally, changes in interest rates are reflected in bond
prices. Bonds are considered to be less risky than stocks, since the company has to
pay off all its debts (including bonds) before it handles its obligations to
stockholders. Corporate bonds have a wide range of ratings and yields because the
financial health of the issuers can vary widely. The most popular types of this bond
is convertible bonds. However, nowadays, many corporations choose to issue
floating rate bonds; MOF estimated that there were about 18,000 floating rate bonds
are issued in 2011. The feature of this bond is time saving, reducing cost
Nt1310 Unit 1 Lab Report Part 1
In Part 1 of the lab, a solar cell was created and tested for its capability to conduct
electricity. After researching the processes that contribute to the conductive property,
it was found that the oxidized substance is the dye, as it donates an excited electron to
the titanium oxide. Consequently, titanium oxide is reduced before it donates an
electron to the cathode. The electrolyte solution was found to replenish the dye with
electrons so it could continue to act as a reducing agent. Certain steps in the process
of creating the solar cell were essential for conduction. For example, the electrodes
needed to be offset so that the alligator connectors could connect and complete the
circuit. If they were not staggered, the cell would not have been able to power a
machine using those connectors because it would have been impossible for each
connector to touch only one of the electrodes. Additionally, when the titanium oxide
plate was removed from the dye dish,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the blackberry cell was perpendicular to the ground, the multimeter
measured a current of .4 microamps. The other orientations produced currents
ranging from 0 to .3 microamperes, never reaching the maximum current at 0
degrees. This effect was replicated in the second week of the lab. Although Table 4
shows that all the measured currents were zero, the multimeter switched between
negative zero and positive zero as the cell was rotated. As it tended to be negative
when the cell was facing downward, it is likely the current was simply not strong
enough to be measured. However, when the cell was facing up, the current was
found to be positive, meaning that the current must have decreased as the cell was
rotated downwards. Based on this data, it is likely a solar cell of this type would
have a small range of angles at which it could be effective, limiting the places solar
cells could be
Bull Frog Research Paper
During my summer on August 23, 2015, my brother and I went to Kensington
metro park to see if we could catch a frog. At the park we found a pond full of frogs
and we finally caught a frog called The Bull frog, it had green and brown spots and
a bright green upper lip and a creamy yellowish belly, it was three to eight inches
long. Bull frogs is mostly found statewide, but numbers have been reduced locally
due to overharvesting for froglegs. Now rare over much of state. The Bullfrogcould
be as the size of a toad, but there is a big difference. Frogs have two bulging eyes
strong, long, webbed hind feet that are adapted for leaping and swimming, it has
smooth or slimy skin, frogs tend to lay eggs in clusters. Unlike Toads, Toads have
stubby bodies with short hind legs, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chest cartilage of toads is different also. Toads tend to lay eggs in long chains.
There are only two native toads in Michigan, which are The Eastern American
Toad and The Fowler s Toad, they are mostly the same ,but different in shape and
color. The Eastern toad is mostly brownish skin is very warty. Short, but large and
muscular hind legs allow it to move more easily through woodlands and backyards.
Throat and belly white speckled with black. Found common statewide. The Eastern
American Toad is similar to The American Toad, but throat and belly is usually plain
colored and has more warts, three or more in each dark spot on the back. Two to
thirtytwo inches long. Found in western and southern Lower Peninsula. Many of
toads and frogs population has dropped over time and the reason behind this is the
Amphibian Decline. Many species have lost most of their population for many
reasons like climate change, small changes in temperature and moisture, changes in
global weather pattern and many trees getting cut down. People could change that in
many ways, by keeping the place clean, keeping factories away from nature, less
cutting trees and treating nature in a better way possible.

Stibbe is arguing about the animals who has their lives ended or made miserable by
human activity. For example, 10 billion birds and mammals are raised and killed in
just one country, the United States, most of them confined that they can t move
properly (Stibbe 63). For some reason, more people became cruel as the world
develops. But there is a ecological reason why we should listen to animals. Animals
play a role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem. Relationships amongst the humans
are constructed through language . The reason why language lies in the way

Animals are designed to provide good to humans, and the ecosystem which resembles
as a disposal service. In return for the goods and the services, animals receive the
confinement, toxins, death, which is where the economy breaks down (Stibbe 67).
The animal liberation movement, in contrast with wildlife conservation, focuses
specifically on the animals who suffer most at the hands of humans. The ones whose
relationships with humans consist of little more than abuse and exploitation. It was a
discourse to promote a change in human/animal relationships, yet this discourse has
its limits, Tester (199I: 196) sums up one limit to the animal liberation movement The
animals are nothing more than objects to which something is done (Stibbe 76).
Animal agency is a contentious philosophical issue. There are theorists who are
important to attribute agency to animals at all, who fear it as an anthropomorphic and
therefore does not respect the different nature of animals. The discourse of animal
rights is common with the animal liberation, but calls for legal rights to be created
as a certain species of animals. Animals are considered to be species, resources,
subspecies,
Jane Eyre Maturity
At first glance Jane Eyre may seem to be a young woman with semi bad taste in
men, but she is actually much more complex a character than that. Jane is driven
by her craving for freedom, her desire to be useful, and her yearning to fit in
somewhere. She is rich in character with a stubborn, strong willed, and passionate
personality. She is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in, whether it is a
family she wants to have, or a marriagethat is unfair and without balance. As an
adult, Jane is a level headed young woman, but as a child she let her passions get
the best of her. She tones down this passion quite a bit as she grows older and gains
more experience, and channels it into other areas of her life.
Jane is driven by her desire ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She would rather work for Rochester and continue being paid as an employer and
earning her keep than have Rochester pay directly for her every little need. She feels
that she is more in control of her situation when she works for Rochester than when
she does nothing and he dotes on her constantly. She feels that the more control she
has in the relationship, the more freedom she has overall. She believes that if she
has to ask Rochester for every little thing she s lost her freedom, and rightly so. So
while she is happy to be getting married to Rochester because she loves him, she is
also slightly uncomfortable because she feels that she will no longer have power
over her own life. Later she refuses to marry St. John later for the same reason. She
says, I am ready to go to India, if I may go free. Your answer requires a
commentary, he said; it is not clear. You have hitherto been my adopted brother I,
your adopted sister: let us continue as such: you and I had better not marry. (p.156).
We find out that really the only reason St. John wants to marry Jane is so that he
can control her. He and Jane could go to India as cousins, but then he would not
have as much control over her. St. John enjoys controlling Jane, but Jane wants to be
her own person. A marriage where she is only married so that her husband can
control her is the epitome of a relationship Jane does not want to be in. She wants to

How New York Became a Melting Pot
New York was once called the melting pot. Why? Many from different places with
different races and religions traveled to New York to try and camouflage in with
others. In order to do so, it required drastic changes. It could have meant changing
their name, hiding their accent, adapting to new food or new music. As you may
see, for one to be a New Yorker, they were to melt their traits into the New York
culture for them to be equivalent to others. Now days, New York attracts people
worldwide like a magnet. Unlike the past, people remained with their culture. That
is why New York has become so diverse. As a result of that, in 2000 the census for
New York State was 18,976,457 people, making New York the third largest state.
Not only has the population grown, but also as of 2000, New York has a total of
62 countries! Let us travel back in time to about 3500 B.C.E. to learn the origins of
New York s people, which include the discussion of eight different groups of
immigrants. Around that time, Native Americans, mound builders, lived in the area,
but their culture spanned from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Ocean, which
is 5,404 miles in distance. So imagine having such a wide capacity of land, they
would be able to hunt and gather plants. If they lived by the water, they too would
be able to fish. Near the end of their stay, the Native Americans grew corn and other
crops. Long after they left, the first European travelers arrived. By then, two tribes,
the Iroquois and
Organizational Behavior Defined
Organizational Behavior Defined Introduction It is reasonable to suggest that the
overwhelming majority of humankind has either been part of or required the
services of organizations at some point in time during their lives, and many of
these consumers will likely testify that although every organization is different in
some ways, they all share some common characteristics. Furthermore, because all
organizations are comprised of mere humans, they are subject to the same
behavioral whims, weaknesses and vagaries that also characterize the human
condition from day to day and over time. To gain further insights into these
concepts, this paper provides a review of the relevant peer reviewed and scholarly
literature to develop a comprehensive and robust definition of organizational
behavior. This review is followed by a summary of the research and salient
findings in the conclusion. Review and Discussion As the term indicates,
organizational behavior describes how people interact in a workplace setting to
achieve a common goal or purpose. In this regard, Kelly and Kelly (1998)
emphasize that, Organizational behavior is essentially concerned with what people
do in organizations (p. 4). Therefore, defining organizational behavior requires a
consideration of how people actually behave in workplace settings at a given point
in time as well as over time (Miner, 2002). As Kelly and Kelly point out, A good
working definition of organizational behavior is the systematic study of
Four Main Tissue Categories
6.Tissues are defined as groups of cells with a common structure and function.
However, there are four different main categories in the human body: epithelial tissue,
connective tissue, muscle tissue, and nervous tissue. Even within the four main
categories, there are different types of cells assembled in a different formation. For
example, the cells in the epithelial tissue are joined closely together with little
material in between them. There are different types of epitheliumtissues, including the
simple epithelium and stratified epithelium. A simple epithelium has a single layer of
cells and a stratified epithelium has multiple layers of cells. Just within the epithetical
tissue, the cells connect to each other in a different structure... Show more content on

Unlike the epithelial tissue, the muscle tissue is composed of long cells called
muscle fibers (Campbell). There are three types of muscle tissues: skeletal muscle,
cardiac muscle, and smooth muscle. The cells of a skeletal muscle are long and
close to the shape of a cylindrical. Cardiac muscle cells described as being y shaped.
Smooth muscle cells are small and tapered with thinner ends. Among the four main
categories of tissues in the human body (epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous),
the type of cell is different and the way they connect to each other is different as well.
Each tissue has a different function within the human body s organ and if the cells
that make up the tissues were similar in every aspect, it would not be possible for
the tissues to carry out its own specialized function needed for the body to operate
properly. A closer look within the main categories, there are more specific types of
tissues which also require special cells that are connected to each other in its own
way in order for the tissue to function properly and efficiently inside different organs
of the human
What Is The Theme Of Amigo Brothers
Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light. ~Helen
Keller. That means that even though good things might happen it isn t worth it if you
go through the good things alone. In Amigo Brothers two best friends are in the
championship together and have to fight each other, whoever wins the fight wins it
all. Both friends don t want to hurt the other and want them to do good but, at the
same time, they want to do good themselves. In the end, after the fight, they decide
to leave and not figure out who wins because they are both winners in each other s
eyes. Amigo Brothers would be the best short storyfor a middle schoolstudents

However, that is wrong because the story Charles shows support to inappropriate
behavior and it shows that people will allow bad behavior in life. In the text, it
says He told a little girl to say a word and she said it and the teacher washed her
mouth out with soup and Charles laughed. This is just one example of what the kid
Charles did, yet nothing happened to him. In the text, it states What happened to
Charles? , my husband asked. Nothing, Laurie said. This means that nothing
absolutely nothing happens to Charles even though he did all of those horrible
things. It is teaching kids that there aren t consequences. It is telling kids that
nothing bad will happen to you even if you do bad things. That is something that
you shouldn t be learning in middle school because that is when most kids start to
act out to get attention or for many other reasons. In middle school, there is close to
85% of bullying according to DHHS. People bully others because they have been
bullied and because they can get away with it. When they bully the kids they know
that they won t be in that much trouble. That is why the story Charles is not the best
short story for middle schoolers to

My Mentor Essay. Mentor Assessment 1 Mentorship Essays

  • 1. My Mentor Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "My Mentor" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, but delving into the intricacies of such a personal and nuanced subject can pose a considerable challenge. The difficulty lies not only in narrating the experiences and lessons learned from a mentor but also in striking the right balance between admiration and objectivity. To begin with, one must navigate the fine line between expressing gratitude and avoiding excessive idealization. It's easy to fall into the trap of portraying a mentor as flawless, but an effective essay requires a realistic portrayal that captures the mentor's humanity, including their strengths and perhaps even some shortcomings. Balancing admiration with an honest evaluation of the mentor's impact can be a delicate task. Furthermore, the challenge extends to articulating the intangible qualities that make a mentor- mentee relationship meaningful. The essay should not merely list accomplishments or recount events; it should delve into the mentor's guidance, wisdom, and the transformative effect on the writer's personal and professional growth. This demands a deep introspection into one's own experiences, self-awareness, and the ability to articulate abstract concepts. Additionally, the essay must be structured coherently, presenting a chronological or thematic progression that makes the narrative engaging and easy to follow. Finding the right words to convey the depth of emotions and the significance of the mentor's influence is crucial. Striking a balance between descriptive detail and concise expression can be a constant struggle. In conclusion, composing an essay on the topic of "My Mentor" requires not only proficient writing skills but also a keen understanding of the complexities involved in recounting a personal journey of mentorship. The writer must navigate the emotional landscape, maintain objectivity, and provide a compelling narrative that captures the essence of the mentor-mentee relationship. It's a challenging endeavor that demands both introspection and effective communication. For those finding this task daunting, it's worth noting that assistance is available. • 2. Summary Of Jude s The Of Jude JOURNAL OF JUDE BY: ROSECEL M. RENDON 1. EPISTLE S AUTHORSHIP Jude was the brother of Jesus and he wrote this epistle after he became a believer in Jesus Christ. We need to remember as it is written, Jude and James, both brothers of Jesus, did not believe that He was the Messiah, the son of God. But after His resurrection everything changed and now he called himself a brother of James and a servant of Jesus Christ which shows the humility of Jude and the unimportance for him to be the half brother of Jesus in human terms but most important to believe in Him as our savior and king. To Jude, the blood of the cross was more important than the family blood. 2. DATE OF WRITING The Epistle of Jude is closely related to 2 Peter, and the date of writing depends on whether Jude borrowed from 2 Peter or 2 Peter borrowed from Jude. It is believed it was written somewhere between the years 60 to 80 A.D. 3. PURPOSE AND OCCASION OF WRITING: Jude had to deal with the dangers of false doctrines sneaking in the church. There were godless men, false teachers who were living sinful lives and misrepresenting the grace of God, they denied the Lordship of Jesus Christ and began teaching doctrines of self righteousness and a false freedom they represented. This brought Jude, led by the Holy Spirit, to deal strongly with these men, false teachers. In his epistle, he perfectly describes the character, deception, lies, and modus operandi of these men and contrast it with the character of a true

But one prevalent issue that has continued to be the source of much controversy is immigration. Founded on immigration this issue is not new to this country. Although it s an issue that has been around for many years the mixed sentiments directed at it have only continued to become more prevalent. This may be due to the various perspectives from which it is viewed. The way in which an issue is looked at is influenced by various factors which become evident when the issue of immigrationis discussed. One said factor would be where on the political spectrum individual falls. For example, a liberal would view immigration... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Its makeup up which has led to it being nicknamed a melting pot is clearly reflected in its political culture as it is composed of people with different ideologies, ages, backgrounds, etc. Without each of these components, the U.S. wouldn t be the country it is today as Lincoln once said the United States has a Government of the people, by the people, for the people. Without the people, this government wouldn t be a democracy. Unfortunately, not all people in this country have come to this realization as voter turnout is still low among some groups, specifically among younger people, although it can be hoped for that through education they will come to the conclusion that talking alone does not get the job done. What gets the job done is acting. In other words voting but more importantly doing so in an educated
  • 4. Al Capone Essay Alphonse SCARFACE Capone Born in New York City, in 1899, by parents Gabriel and Teresa Capone, Alphonse Capone was blessed with a historical blend of ruthless gangster in his blood. Al Capone s parents immigrated to the United States in 1893, from Naples, Italy. Al Capone came from a huge family. He was the fourth oldest of nine children. At birth, Capone s parents never would have believed that their son, Alphonse Capone, would grow up to be a murderous thug without remorse. As a child, Al Caponewas very wise when it came to living on the streets of New York. He had a clever and somewhat ingenious mind when it came to street smarts. If the act of plotting a crime was in question, Al Capone was as sharp as they come. As far... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The principal of the school rushed in and chastised the young Capone and for this very reason he would never return to school again. After giving up on school, Al Capone took up odd jobs such as working as a pin setter at a bowling alley, and working behind the counter at a candy store. Capone was definitely a night owl. He was a pool shark winning every eightball tournament held in Brooklyn. He also became an expert knife fighter. Although the Bim Booms Gang was the first gang Capone ever entered, The Five Pointers quickly picked him up. The Five Pointers was the most powerful gang in New York City. The gang was headed by Johnny Torrio, and was made up of over 1,500 thugs who specialized in burglary, extortion, robbery, assault, and murder. While working as a strong enforcer under Torrio, Capone learned all the lethal tricks that would propel him from rags to riches in no time at all. Capone was very grateful to Torrio and is quoted as saying: I looked on Johnny as my adviser and father and the party that made it possible for me to get my start. In 1925, Capone became boss when Torrio, seriously wounded in an assassination attempt, surrendered control and retiring to Brooklyn. Capone had built a fearsome reputation in the ruthless gang rivalries of the period, struggling to acquire and retain racketeering rights to several areas of Chicago. That reputation grew as rival gangs were eliminated or mollified, and the

This paper will cover the scope of the events of the Monument Fires as well as the basic summary of need for the State of Arizona for Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) funding. Background. On June 12, 2011 in Sierra Vista, Arizona a city near the Mexican border, a suspected human caused fire was started within the Coronado National Monument Park, along the southern tip of the Huachuca Mountains in Southern Arizona and quickly shot through the canyons south of the city of Sierra Vista. Over the course of 14 days, the wildfire burned to some extent 100% of the park s acreage; destroyed a total of 62 homes, 18 outbuildings and 4 businesses (Youberg Pearthree, 2011) and mandatory evacuations were in effect due to the fires moving quickly towards the outskirts along with the danger of the smoke that blanketed the town. The fire was wind driven spread and was aided by high temperatures and low humidity. The Monument Fire burned 30,526 acres by the time of containment a month later on July 12. Unfortunately, the disaster would not over when the fire was finally extinguished. A burned landscape presents a number of safety hazards that either did not exist prior to the fire or are increased by the effects of the fire. These types of hazardous conditions may continue for several years after a fire. The fire had destroyed the grasslands and trees that grew along the canyons of the
  • 7. Effects Of War On The Army And National Guard Essay Effects of War on the Army vs National Guard The Soldier started his career in the United States (U.S.) Army in 1987, completing Basic Training (BT) and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma as a cannon crewmember. His initial active duty enlistment was for three years but due to Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, the Soldier fell under Operation Stop Loss, delaying his initial expiration term of service (ETS) date by six months. During his enlistment with the U.S. Army, he saw a couple of major changes within the Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTOE). Each of these changes resulted in his current unit changing in strength and equipment. Although at the time, this young Soldier did not completely understand the complexity of the changes, he did understand how the changes affected how his section completed their daily duties and his direct chain of command. For example, the U.S. Army s Field Artillery units changed from a three by six gun concept to three by eight units. With this change, artillery firing batteries acquired additional Soldiers and equipment. The U.S. Army did not seem to have any issues filling vacant positions with enlisted Soldiers, Non commissioned Officers (NCOs), or Officers. This MTOE change caused growth, which allowed promotions through Permanent Change of Station (PCS) thus allowing more junior enlisted positions to become available. Recruiters then fill the junior enlisted positions without much

I work at a grocery store in my home, called Country Mart. When I first started, I was not as fast as the other cashiers when it came to checking the customers out. I was still learning how to work the register. I would also get caught in conversation with the customers causing the transaction to take more time. My manager, Garry Brown, noticed this and talked with me. He commended me on being extremely social and friendly, but wanted me to limit my social interactions with the customers. Paris has so much history and tradition all over the city. These remarkable landmarks and classical architecture are pervading over the city and it represents a history of France. Another unique about the Paris is that unlike any other cities, Paris makes the best use of what they have and maintain its characteristics while they modernize rebuilding the city. It looks like their attempt succeed and tourist from all over the world constantly show their love in Paris. However, it could be a different story for people who live in Paris. Of the planning and urban environment related issues in the film, the inconvenience of development and access, the complicated transportation system, and underdevelopment of residential districts. These planning issues cause a structural conflict on city planning and also a discomfort of daily life for people live in Paris. People s daily life sacrifices the convenience to maintain the city s history. In Whose Culture? Whose City? sociologist Sharon Zukin suggested that Gentrification, historic preservation, and other cultural strategies to enhance the visual appeal of urban spaces developed as major trends . For example, the historical and classic buildings in Paris are one of main reasons that people love about the Paris. Most of buildings are hundreds years old at least and they have their own

It is imperative that these same principles are utilized when communicating to cultural groups other than our own because people from different cultures encode and decode messages and meaning differently. Therefore, the best amount of leveling may occur when both the total cost and the total duration are minimised. Generally, the total cost of a project will greatly depended on the total duration. In other words, in most cases, a plan with minimum total project duration will stand for the best amount of leveling. The best amount of leveling should take a balanced view with concern about the client s demands, the project objects and the availability of different types of resources. For single resource, in small projects, their resource could be leveled by inspection; in larger projects is to select a target maximum for a resource. Moreover, when dealing with multiple resources, managers should decide which resource should be leveled first, i.e., largest fluctuating resources, resource with largest penality, high cost equipment. Other resource leveling method include extending the project duration, compressing activities, and splitting activities. Although it is ideal to have each task started and finished in the earliest period, this situation may not be found in real cases. In most of time, the resource required to launching multiple tasks is greater than the maximum available resources. Consequently, some tasks have to be delayed to start after others are finished. The steps of resource leveling are dramatically. As the previous figure shown above, each task

In the 1930s, society deemed a woman s place to be in the house. Today, women have made strides in defining who they are for themselves. Over the years women have faced a great deal of oppression. Nonetheless, they have rebutted society s definition of women regarding their education, their appearance, their job, and their fight for equal rights. Women from the 1930s, the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, and women s lives in the present day are different as, women from the 1930s and the novel face more conflicts when it comes to their education and rights, while women s lives in the present day are less daunting in getting an education or defying the typical female role, they are also similar as they both face problems in the workplace and both struggle with society s views about them. The women of the 1930s faced many challenges getting an education compared to today. Starting with the differences, Kat, in the movie, is outspoken and makes her opinion heard. While Katherine turns to physical violence, because she always feels inferior to everyone around her. Following this happening, in both the play and movie, Lucentio seeks out Petruchio to be with Katherine, so that he can be with Bianca. From Kindergarten to Fifth Grade, I was teased because I was too smart. There were several times that I would hide on the back of the bus crying after a full day of insults. There was one boy at my school that was the worst. His name was Chaska Lacey. Chaska loved making new insults and nicknames every day to insult my intelligence. And it wasn t always at school either. Once I was jogging through the town of Waverly in order to stay in shape for basketball season. I was running at a decently consistent pace before I passed Chaska and his younger brother, Jolon. Wal Mart has a unique enterprise risk management (ERM) plan that was developed internally in the 1990 s that includes five steps. These five steps are (Atkinson, 2005): Step One Risk Identification Step Two Risk Mitigation Step Three Action Planning Step Four Performance Metrics Step Five Shareholder Value/Return on Investment The first step is to identify the risk. In some cases this can be a difficult task; especially when the risk stems from the external environment. There are many tools that can help organizations to help identify potential risks. Once the risk is identified then the next step that Wal Mart uses is to try to determine possible courses that would allow them to mitigate the risk. Not all risks are easy to mitigate. For example, external risks such as a recession might be difficult to mitigate for nearly any organization. Once the possible risk mitigations strategies are compiled then the next step is to create an action plan in which puts into action the different mitigation strategies. The next step is to determine if the plan worked or not. Thus performance metrics have to be constructed to determine the effectiveness of the action plan. Finally, the last step that Wal Mart conducts is to use the financial tools to determine how it will affect the shareholders. Discuss how your organisation evaluates projects

We are, in our quotidian existence, unwittingly exposed to a stunning amount of sensorial stimulation. Much of this stimulation comes from film, a form of media that has captivated sociologists, psychologists, and philosophers. In the Frankfurt School, Max Horkheimerand Theodor Adorno interpret the sociopolitical implications of film differently from Walter Benjamin. Horkheimer and Adorno see film as a means to deceive and manipulate the proletariat although Benjamin critiques capitalist exploitation of film, he argues that film can serve revolutionary purposes. In the context of historical film, Benjamin s arguments are more convincing than Horkheimer and Adorno s; film is not inherently authoritarian or oppressive. Rather, the manner film is employed socio politically is what defines its roles in mass culture. In The Culture Industry: Enlightenment as Mass Deception, Horkheimer and Adorno argue that the bourgeoisie use film as a means to impose control over the proletariat. Cuba and the United States have been hostile since the Cuban Revolution of 1959, when Fidel Castro overthrew the US supportedbacked dictator, Fulgencio Batista, and established a Communist regime. The US rejected Castro s bid for equal economic partnership because they wanted to maintain economic dominance. As such, Castro began seizing US assets, causing back and forth actions that culminated in Presidents Eisenhower and Kennedy placing an embargo in 1960 61. The embargo was intensified in the 1990s, and attempts to relax sanctions cannot succeed without Congress repealing the laws responsible for the embargo. Despite arguments that it would help fight human rightsviolations, the US embargo on Cubashould be lifted because of its historic ineffectiveness, the potential economic advantages of a repeal, and the democratic values shown by the popularity of a repeal. • 36. A Short Note On Elastic And Inelastic Traffic Elastic and Inelastic Traffic In this day and age, the design of networks can puzzle some individuals. In fact the naming of the devices within a network can be very daunting if someone takes into account that everything can be named within a network or internetwork. This might include items such as workstations, printers, servers, switches, routers, mobile devices, and tablets. A great designed and executed naming style could easily permit the users the ability to browse with ease and connect to these pieces of equipment by name. Each device s name is the beginning of the variables that need to be checked into, and also the network address. The different ways that are discussed within this paper apply to being able to map an address with its name and varies from both static host files and dynamic domain name systems (DDNS) (Mitchell, 2015). Unlike DNS that simply functions with static IP addresses, DDNS is also created to support dynamic IP addresses, like those that are appointed by a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server (Mitchell, 2015). The utilization of dynamic name resolution methods are at many times the best decision. The naming method that is chosen must be constant all over the network and names need to be unique, significant, and small. This naming method will also allow a user to look for and identify names that are assigned to the devices. Development of an Addressing and Naming Model Within the scenario given, the organization is made up of ten

Due to scorching hot conditions in the factories, factory workers would leave the factory into frosty conditions during the night which led to phenomena. The hot conditions were also caused by the cotton thread as it must be spun in moist conditions up to 21.11 degrees Celsius. Other illnesses such as chest and lung infections and loss of hearing occurred as the atmosphere was dusty and the noise from the machines affected the workers hearing. Question 7. Corporate bond A type of bonds is issued by a corporation.Corporate bonds often pay higher rates than government or municipal bonds, because they tend to be riskier. The bondholder receives interest payments (yield) and the principal, usually 100,000VND, is repaid on a fixed maturity date (bonds can mature anywhere between 1 to 30 years). Generally, changes in interest rates are reflected in bond prices. Bonds are considered to be less risky than stocks, since the company has to pay off all its debts (including bonds) before it handles its obligations to stockholders. Corporate bonds have a wide range of ratings and yields because the financial health of the issuers can vary widely. The most popular types of this bond is convertible bonds. • 44. Nt1310 Unit 1 Lab Report Part 1 In Part 1 of the lab, a solar cell was created and tested for its capability to conduct electricity. After researching the processes that contribute to the conductive property, it was found that the oxidized substance is the dye, as it donates an excited electron to the titanium oxide. Consequently, titanium oxide is reduced before it donates an electron to the cathode. The electrolyte solution was found to replenish the dye with electrons so it could continue to act as a reducing agent. Certain steps in the process of creating the solar cell were essential for conduction. For example, the electrodes needed to be offset so that the alligator connectors could connect and complete the circuit. If they were not staggered, the cell would not have been able to power a machine using those connectors because it would have been impossible for each connector to touch only one of the electrodes. Additionally, when the titanium oxide plate was removed from the dye dish,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the blackberry cell was perpendicular to the ground, the multimeter measured a current of .4 microamps. The other orientations produced currents ranging from 0 to .3 microamperes, never reaching the maximum current at 0 degrees. This effect was replicated in the second week of the lab. Although Table 4 shows that all the measured currents were zero, the multimeter switched between negative zero and positive zero as the cell was rotated. As it tended to be negative when the cell was facing downward, it is likely the current was simply not strong enough to be measured. However, when the cell was facing up, the current was found to be positive, meaning that the current must have decreased as the cell was rotated downwards. Based on this data, it is likely a solar cell of this type would have a small range of angles at which it could be effective, limiting the places solar cells could be

Animal agency is a contentious philosophical issue. There are theorists who are important to attribute agency to animals at all, who fear it as an anthropomorphic and therefore does not respect the different nature of animals. The discourse of animal rights is common with the animal liberation, but calls for legal rights to be created as a certain species of animals. Many from different places with different races and religions traveled to New York to try and camouflage in with others. In order to do so, it required drastic changes. It could have meant changing their name, hiding their accent, adapting to new food or new music. As you may see, for one to be a New Yorker, they were to melt their traits into the New York culture for them to be equivalent to others. Now days, New York attracts people worldwide like a magnet. Unlike the past, people remained with their culture. That is why New York has become so diverse. As a result of that, in 2000 the census for New York State was 18,976,457 people, making New York the third largest state. Around that time, Native Americans, mound builders, lived in the area, but their culture spanned from the Mississippi River to the Atlantic Ocean, which is 5,404 miles in distance. So imagine having such a wide capacity of land, they would be able to hunt and gather plants. If they lived by the water, they too would be able to fish. Near the end of their stay, the Native Americans grew corn and other crops. Long after they left, the first European travelers arrived. By then, two tribes, the Iroquois and

Organizational Behavior Defined Organizational Behavior Defined Introduction It is reasonable to suggest that the overwhelming majority of humankind has either been part of or required the services of organizations at some point in time during their lives, and many of these consumers will likely testify that although every organization is different in some ways, they all share some common characteristics. Furthermore, because all organizations are comprised of mere humans, they are subject to the same behavioral whims, weaknesses and vagaries that also characterize the human condition from day to day and over time. To gain further insights into these concepts, this paper provides a review of the relevant peer reviewed and scholarly literature to develop a comprehensive and robust definition of organizational behavior. This review is followed by a summary of the research and salient findings in the conclusion. Review and Discussion As the term indicates, organizational behavior describes how people interact in a workplace setting to achieve a common goal or purpose. In this regard, Kelly and Kelly (1998) emphasize that, Organizational behavior is essentially concerned with what people do in organizations (p. 4). Therefore, defining organizational behavior requires a consideration of how people actually behave in workplace settings at a given point in time as well as over time (Miner, 2002). As Kelly and Kelly point out, A good working definition of organizational behavior is the systematic study of
