• Students 19+ studying a Skills Funding Agency (SFA)
course can apply for discretionary funding for their course
related costs and travel

• If you need support looking for the right childcare for your
son or daughter, we have a list of Registered Childcare
Providers
• If you are under 20 years old and need assistance with
the cost of childcare, you may be able to apply for funding
through the Government’s Care to Learn Scheme
• For students aged 20+ who are in
receipt of a means tested benefit,
it may be possible for the Learner
Support Fund to contribute towards
childcare costs

40. Advanced Learning Loans
(Aged 24+)
• For Academic Year 2013/14 Learners will be able to
apply for a Loan to meet the upfront costs of their fees
• Available to Learners aged 24 and over undertaking a
Level 3 or above course
• Application process was launched in April 2013 and will
mean an online application to Student Finance England
• The Loan is non-means tested
• Loans re-paid when earning above £21,000 per annum

• A Special offer to Further Education students from the
University of Derby
• Progress from your Level 3 College course onto a
University Degree course at either Buxton or in Derby
• Receive £1,000 guaranteed bursary
• Use it to cover some of your course fees or just spend it
however you like!
