MacEwan University has been providing education for 40 years, evolving from a community college to one of Alberta's most unique universities. It focuses on undergraduate education and has four faculties offering over 50 diploma and certificate programs as well as seven bachelor's degrees. In 2010/11, MacEwan received on average 2.8 applications for every available spot and had over 19,000 credit students, with most being full-time, female, and on average 22.5 years old. Student satisfaction with their educational experience at MacEwan is 96%.

University on top with a number one ranking for student satisfaction among universities with enrolments

teaching and learning, levels of student/faculty interaction, and teaching style. The university also earned
the number one spot in several categories including class size and campus atmosphere. And when
asked if their university was nurturing and supportive academically, our students gave the university a
top-10 placement amongst all Canadian universities, regardless of size.
