1. Business Ethics Essay Topics
Writing an essay on the topic of "Business Ethics Essay Topics" can be quite challenging for
several reasons. Firstly, the subject matter itself is intricate and multifaceted, requiring a
comprehensive understanding of both business practices and ethical principles. Business ethics
encompass a wide range of issues, including corporate responsibility, employee rights,
environmental sustainability, and ethical decision-making.
The complexity of the topic also lies in the dynamic nature of the business world. As business
practices evolve, so do ethical considerations. Staying current with the latest trends and ethical
dilemmas in the business realm is essential to produce a relevant and insightful essay.
Moreover, addressing business ethics often involves delving into real-world case studies and
analyzing them from an ethical standpoint. This requires the ability to apply theoretical
frameworks to practical situations, demonstrating a deep comprehension of ethical theories and
their practical implications.
Another challenge is striking the right balance between critique and constructive analysis. It's
essential to discuss ethical shortcomings in business practices while also exploring potential
solutions and improvements. This requires a nuanced and well-balanced approach to avoid being
overly critical or overly optimistic.
In addition to the intellectual challenges, time management is crucial when writing an essay on
business ethics. Researching and synthesizing information from various sources, organizing
thoughts coherently, and crafting a well-structured argument all demand careful planning and
time allocation.
In conclusion, tackling the subject of "Business Ethics Essay Topics" requires a combination of
in-depth knowledge, critical thinking skills, and effective time management. It is a task that
demands careful consideration of ethical principles within the dynamic context of the business
world.

2. Theories Of Sales Promotion
CHAPTER3
THEORETICAL
BACKGROUND
Rapid Growth of Sales Promotion:
Sales promotion tools are used by most organizations, including manufacturers,
distributors, retailers, and not for profit institutions. They are targeted toward final
buyers (consumer promotions), retailers and wholesalers (trade promotion). Today, in
the average consumer packaged company, sales promotion accounts for 74 percent of
all marketing expenditures. Several factors have contributed to the rapid growth of
sales promotion, particularly in consumer market. First, inside the company manager
face greater pressures to increase their current sales, and promotion is viewed as an
effective short run sales tool. Second, externally, the company faces more
competition and competing brands are less differentiated. Increasingly efficiency has
declined because of rising costs, media clutter, and legal restraints. Finally,
consumers have become more deal oriented, and ever larger retailers are demanding
more deals from manufacture. In developing a sales promotion program, a company
must first set sales promotion objectives and then select the best tools for
accomplishing these objectives.
Objectives of Sales promotion:
Sales promotion objective vary widely. Sellers may use consumer promotions to urge

3. The Mystery Mixture And The Mystery Mixture
Introduction:
When faced with a problem a good scientist will use experiments, notes, debates, and
more to their advantage to solve the tough questions. A groups of scientists did just
that when faced with a problem of their own. A tiny vial with a white powdery
substance in it was put in front of them, and they needed to find out what was in it!
Faced with nine possible ingredients in the Mystery mixture, a well tray, a water
dropper, and a toothpick, these scientists were a little overwhelmed, but determined.
One of the first things they did was look at the substance and compare it to their own
mixtures, using experiments or chemical properties. Chemical properties are a
chemical s reaction to another or more substances, and a change in it s identity. When
they observed the chemicals the students were using physical properties, or observing
the chemical s smell, texture, color, appearance, size, and shape. They believe
Baking Soda and Citric acid are in the Mystery Mixture.
Claim:
In order to show you why these students believe the mystery mixture is a
combinations of NaHCO3 C6H8O7 I will need to show you the mixture s chemical
and physical properties. The NaHCO3 C6H8O7 mixture is a bright white color, and
has a slight airy smell. The claim also has a powdery white substance or the
NaHCO3. It also has small white spheres, that resemble the mystery mixture s, which
is probably the C6H8O7. The students have also learned through experimentation that

4. Silence In Krapp s Last Tape
Silence as a Character in Krapp s Last Tape Krapp, a cantankerous old man
attempting to relive his best years by listening to a tape he recorded on his thirty
ninth birthday in Beckett s Krapp s Last Tape , constantly pauses and allows silence
to overwhelm him and his thoughts. By allowing the invasion of silence into the play,
the spotlight is taken off of Krapp in a one man play supposedly about Krapp, as he
cannot maintain controlat the most basic level. The play begins and concludes with
silence, and therefore silence is the first characterthe audience meets in the play,
demonstrating its importance in controlling Krapp and his actions through the story.
Throughout the play, silence constantly appears, whether in namesake or in the form
of relentless pauses in Krapp s speech, and dominates Krapp and his language. Krapp,
in constantly submitting to the ever present enemy of silence, demonstrates that he
has no control over the story that is supposed to center around himself, and that
silence is the character to overwhelm Krapp because it represents his fundamental
flaw, his loneliness. The play opens on stage directions describing Krapp s den, and
does not introduce the only material character in the story until four lines in (247).
When Krapp, the main character, is introduced and described as an unkempt man, it
is revealed immediately that he cannot take care of himself. Although the play is
focused around and named after Krapp, he cannot hold attention upon
5. Hip Arthroplasty
Hip arthroplasty is the replacement of the hip joint with a prosthesis, and is one of
the most common reconstructive operations (Huo et al 2008). Hip arthroplasty may
be performed when irreversible damage has occurred to the joint; this damage often
causes pain, dysfunction and reduced quality of life. The pre operative nursing
considerations begin with patient education. This should begin at the time the
decision is made to have the surgical procedure performed. It is important that the
patient understand the preoperative requirements, the surgical procedure,
postoperative care and the necessary home/activity modification. The patient should
be instructed in self preparation, including mental and emotion readiness and having a

The color, sensation, movement and pedal pulses of the operated leg should be
assessed regularly to observe for any circulatory or neurological impairment. Pain
assessments should be noted at regular intervals, since patients who have their pain
well controlled following surgery are able to mobilize more quickly and easily,
which helps reduce the risk of post operative complications such as deep vein
thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and respiratory infection. Prolonged and
inadequate post operative pain may result in higher mortality and morbidity rates,
increased length of hospital stay and greater healthcare expenses (Eid and Bucknall
2008). The nurse can work closely with the hospital physiotherapists on specific
exercises and to assess whether individuals require mobility aides. The patients
should be encouraged to participate in foot exercises such as rotation, flexion and
extension of the ankle to encourage venous return and to help prevent pooling of
blood in the calf muscles (Temple 2004). Since nurses spend more time with patients
than other allied health professionals, it is essential that the nursing staff are aware of
the nature and benefit of post operative exercises and are able to instruct and support
patients in performing these exercises frequently throughout the day. In conclusion,
hip arthroplasty is a common procedure that frequently results in increased levels of
independence
6. The Safety Standards Of Mercury
Mercury is extremely dangerous to humans due to its extreme conditions not suitable
to human life. Missions to Mercury must be conducted with infallible safety
standards to prevent incidents such as what has happened in the past. These safety
standards must consider all possible circumstances in which measures must be taken.
When doing missions on Mercury safety should be the number one priority. Before
creating safety standards, it is important to first acknowledge issues and situations
that has arisen in the past. Awhile back, a team of scientist were sent to complete a
mission on Mercury. Accompanied with them was a robotthat went by the name of
Speedy. Speedy was a multifunctional robot built to assist the scientist with whatever
they needed. Speedy was especially useful against Mercuries harsh conditions. He
was able to maneuver the surface where humans could not. Before arriving on
Mercury, the team knew they would needselenium in order to repair their photo cell
banks. These banks are important in keeping the base on Mercury from burning up.
Speedy was capable of retrieving this selenium, but was the only one capable of
doing so. This is because he was the only robot sent with the team. The safety flaw in
only having one robot to complete a life or death task is enormous. Standards at the
time did not take into account flaws in technology. On the day of the mission, Speedy
was sent out to retrieve the selenium. The scientist found it rather strange that he had

7. Correlation Between Interest And Rate Rates
In economics, a puzzle occurs when empirical data does not match the expected
outcome that theory would predict. One such puzzle is the uncovered interest rate
parity, also known as UIP. This specific puzzle is about interest rate differentials and
exchange rate fluctuations, and how the empirical findings do not support the theory
behind them. In order to further understand this vast research has been conducted on
this puzzle in order to attempt to explain why it is occurring. The reason why there
is a desire to understand why this is occurring is because one of the foundations of
corporate finance is that no arbitrageopportunities are present, but here we see what
appears to be one. However, let us first explain what theory says should... Show more

Now looking at several case studies the first being Adrian W. Throop. In his model,
he runs four regressions where fluctuations in exchange rate between the dollar and
other major currencies are the dependent variables: Trade Weighted US$, Yen
/US$, Mark/US$, and Pound/US$. As for the independent we see the focus on the
interest rate change in the domestic and foreign market. He includes a great deal of
other information in how he acquires what he calls the real interest rate, and thus
account for shocks in the market. This is done to test the hypothesis that sticky
price model of exchange rates can explain why this puzzle is occurring with interest
rate and exchange rate of foreign currency. Whereas, the null hypothesis is that
sticky price model of exchange rates cannot explain why the puzzle is occurring. In
conclusion, Throop found that although the sticky model made sense theoretically
when put to the test empirically it fell short and was not able to adequately account
for the UIP puzzle. Now looking at Alfred V. Guender and his article on UIP he also
uses a regression to test the UIP puzzle, however, he believes that the conventional
test equation of the UIP hypothesis is plagued by omitted variable bias (Guender,
2014). As such he hypothesis there is an inverse relationship between the exchange
rate change and the lagged interest rate differential, and he also takes into account
variables that are typically omitted, but do have an impact on the model such
8. The Punishment And Capital Punishment Essay
In the horizon, there are always heightened debates over issues with capital
punishment in today judicial system. Today thirty three states, along with the United
Stated Government and U.S. military, have the power to legally take away someone
s life. Though it is very much illegal to take someone life within society, our state
and federal government s do the very same thing we are prohibited from doing. The
first section in this paper, will be discussing the reason on why our governments allow
capital punishment, relating to the deterrence of crimes such as murder. The
deterrence of murder and capital punishment seem to only work if you over exercise
capital punishment. Such evidence provided will show the difference in states that
utilize capital punishment more than other states that have not abolished the
deterrence method. The second section will be discussing the retribution relating to
capital punishment. It also covers unanswered questions that relate to utilizing
methods of execution on innocent people. The last section covers the Eighth
Amendment violation relating to cruel and unusual punishment. It also discusses
some of the botched executions that have been conducted over the years.
Deterrence
Recent studies by sociologist suggest that capital punishment and/or the death
penalty, does not deter crimes such as murder . On the other hand, recent empirical
studies conducted by economists suggest that capital punishment does deter crimes
such as murder

Specific Purpose: I want to educate my audience on the various animal rights
organizations and what they stand for.
Thesis Sentence: I will discuss some information about specific animal rights
organizations and how they have impacted the world and the lives of many animals.
Introduction
Hello everyone. My name is Saniyah Foster and I am currently enrolled in
introduction to speech at Columbia College. Growing up my family has always
taught me to be kind to animals and we were surrounded by many of them
throughout my childhood. Being a lover of animals I ve always supported the efforts
of organizations fighting for the lives of animals.
Body
I.People for the Ethical Treatment of Animalsor PETA for short is the largest animal
rights organization in the world.
A.It was established in 1980 and devoted all their time and energy into protecting the
rights of every animal including wildlife.
B.PETA s main principle is that Animals are not ours to consume, wear, experiment
on, or for the use of our entertainment. In layman s terms, animals should be able live
their lives without interference from humans.
C.They concentrate on the four major areas where animals are victimized: factory
farms, laboratories, the clothing trade, and the entertainment industry.
1.In 1981 PETA went undercover in a Maryland research facility where they found
the torturing of numerous Silver Spring monkeys. This became the first police raid to
ever occur.
2.Their slogan Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur came into fruition when protesters
campaigned on the streets of Tokyo in front of a Japanese fur expo.
(Transition: PETA is one of many foundations that strive to be a voice for animals
being the savior that they need.)
II.The Human Society of the United States is the nation s largest organization to
specialize in animal protection.
A.HSUS mission statement is to celebrate animals and confront cruelty for animals
across the world. They have been doing so as early as 1954.
B.Their animal rescue team collaborate with the police force to expose illegal animal
cruelty targeting the worst incidents of abuse nationally.

10. Texas Annexation Essay example
Narrative History of Texas Annexation, Secession, and Readmission to the Union
Texans voted in favor of annexation to the United States in the first election following
independence in 1836. However, throughout the Republic period (1836 1845) no
treaty of annexation negotiated between the Republic and the United States was
ratified by both nations.
When all attempts to arrive at a formal annexation treaty failed, the United States
Congress passed after much debate and only a simple majority a Joint Resolution for
Annexing Texas to the United States. Under these terms, Texas would keep both its
public lands and its public debt, it would have the power to divide into four
additional states of convenient size in the future if it so ... Show more content on

Sixteen years later, in January 1861, the Secession Convention met in Austin and
adopted an Ordinance of Secession on February 1 and a Declaration of Causes on
February 2. This proposal was approved by the voters, but even before Texas could
become independent as provided for in the text of the Ordinance, it was accepted by
the Provisional Government of the Confederate States of America as a state on
March 1, 1861.
The Secession Convention, reconvened on March 2, approved an ordinance accepting
Confederate statehood on March 5. Texas delegates to the Provisional Confederate
Government had already been elected, and they were among those who approved the
proposed Confederate Constitution. Their action was confirmed by the Secession
Convention on March 23.
Throughout the Civil War period, Texas existed as a state in the Confederate States of
America, its status confirmed by the elected representatives of the Texas citizens.
(Sam Houston, although accepting the decision of the electorate to secede, protested
the Convention s decision to join the Confederacy since the matter was not submitted
to popular vote. His opposition was insufficient to cause either the voters or the
members of the state legislature to put aside the actions of the Convention.) John H.
Reagan, a Texan, was the Postmaster General of the C.S.A., and other Texans held
prominent government posts throughout
11. What Is Hitler s Justification For A Pure Blooded Race
A Master Race : The Twisted Justification Behind Eleven Million Murders
Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf, Blood mixture and the resultant drop in the racial
level is the sole cause of the dying out of old cultures ( Chapter 11: Nation and
Race ). This quote describes the dissolving of the Aryan Race, the race Hitler
described as the Master Race. The backbone of the Holocaust was Hitler s idea of a
master race. The master race would be a pure blooded race that would populate the
entire world. However, Jews and other minorities did not qualify as being racially
pure . This gave Hitler the excuse to exterminate undesirables . Hitler s plan of
systematic murder of these peoples lead to the horrendous Holocaust. Many factors

Before becoming Chancellor of Germany, Hitler joined the Nazi Party. In 1920,
with the help of Hitler, the German Worker s Party was constructed. In the
agreement, it stated, No Jew, therefore, may be a member of the Nation ( Nazi
Racism ). Because Hitler spread his beliefs of racial purity very forcefully, he
ended up in prison. While there, Hitler wrote Mein Kampf, or My Struggle, a auto
biography that described Hitler s beliefs. Within the book, Hitler describes history
as the struggle between races for living space . More specifically, he depicted the
Jews as an exceptional evil, working within the nation to subvert racial purity
(Chapter 11). The Jews were not the only victims subjected to his hatred. In Mein
Kampf, Hitler discussed his birthland, the Austro Hungarian Empire. He blamed
diversity for its weakness and further strengthened his argument by declaring that
all of the weaker nations were weak because of their variety of cultures. Hitler
accused democracy for giving minorities power in government, which resulted in a
pointless government ( Ideological Theory ). According to Hitler s beliefs, inferior
races were stealing resources that could be used by a master race; The lesser race
should be exterminated for the benefit of the master race ( Deadly Medicine:
Creating the Master Race ). This theory turned into the Final Solution: Hitler s deadly
plan to
12. Lord Of The Flies Fire Symbolism
The Lord of The Flies is set during WWII and is about a group of boys getting
stranded on an island. Symbols in The Lord of The Flies areis a huge part of the
story, but the signal fire, in my opinion, is the most significant one. The fire It
symbolizes hope and rescue, and savagery. The author, William Golding, does a great
job with displaying this. In the beginning of the novel, Ralph wants to start a signal
fire in case a ship comes by the island. This is good because it shows that the kids
want to get off of the island and don t want to be stranded there. There is a little
conflict here because Jack and the choir boys want to go hunting, but Ralph wants to
build the signal fire. Jack helps Ralph start the fire. Ralph spoke first, with... Show

struggling to make himself heard over the fight. As Piggy tries to speak, hoping to

rock down the mountainside. Ralph, who hears the rock falling, dives and dodges
it. But the boulder strikes Piggy, shatters the conch shell, and knocks him off the
mountainside to his death on the rocks below. Jack throws his spear at Ralph, and
the other boys quickly join in. Ralph escapes into the jungle, and Roger and Jack
begin to torture Sam and Eric, forcing them to submit to Jack s authority and join
his tribe. The fire has burnt out. The next day Ralph is awaken with the smell of
smoke and is forced to come out of hiding. He runs down to the beach and sees a
navy officer. Ralph and the boys are saved. His voice rose under the black smoke
before the burning wreckage of the island; and infected by that emotion, the other
little boys began to shake and sob too. And in the middle of them, with filthy body,
matted hair, and unwiped nose, Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness
of man s heart, and the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy.
(LOTF page 202). To conclude, the Lord of the flies has a great symbol in it. A fire is
something that is so simple yet such a big part of the story. In the beginning

14. The Bomber Plane
Institutional self interest exercised the most significant influence on the
development of airpower in Europe and the United States before the Second World
War because of the limitations of conventional warfare to achieve a decisive victory,
the rise of the bomber plane as the ultimate weapon and the ideas of the first
advocators of an independent air force.
How to achieve a decisive victory has been a constant quest of the Generals through
all the history. In Europe, the commanders of XIX century used Napoleon s art of war
as a paradigm , focusing on mobility and the efficient use of logistics to move his
army corps faster than enemy do. The concept of victory was a mass against mass
battle, where the victor was the biggest army or the smartest general, being the
infantry the main weapon of the army. As a result,... Show more content on

In Italy, Giulio Douhet claimed that the bomber should be capable to destroy its
objective in one attack, and the bombardment unit should be able to destroy any
target on a given surface. In the United Kingdom, Hugh Trenchard claimed it will be
necessary to carry the war into the enemy s country, to attack his aerodromes,
factories, military and naval establishments and generally force upon him a defensive
role . Another Britain, Liddle Hart, asserted that in the future, the objective in the
ward should be to crush the enemy will to fight rather than to concentrate on his
armed forces. Regarding this purpose, in the United States Billy Mitchell used the
term strategical bombing , stressing the indirect impact of the bombs; and Sherman
articulated in his theory of targeting that key plants of the enemy should be made the
objective of a systematic bombardment, both by day and by night, until their

I lie against the decrepit, rickety floorboards of our ship. I lie barely awake. The
profuse thoughts that previously encircled me brought a weariness upon me.
Bound by a profusion of apprehension and pity, all my comrades and I set out on
this day for our homeland. I do not perceive Ithaca as being far away physically,
albeit the mental endeavour seems as if it will carry into eternity, or until the end
of the world. As if it cannot exist anymore, and reality becomes only a speck in a
vast world of death. As if a whirlpool of thought, emotion, and sound are suddenly
whisked away into a small funnel and absorbed elsewhere. A concept I can imagine,
yes, but I cannot describe simply. It is a thing of imagination after all. Perhaps these...

As I forged on to exit the ship, I felt a warm presence behind me. Hermes swiftly.
Hermes wore a glistening white cloak and held a shimmering, golden staff. My crew
mates left the ship and trudged through the remaining, shallow sea, which was not a
substantial amount.
Odysseus, son of Laertes, o Master Mariner, almighty warrior and expert captain, I
come to inform thee of this island you are about to ponder upon. On this island of
Agapios lies a truly petrifying beast, one known as Karibrion. Winged and a flying
master, it can also stand on the earth we stand on. Though it may seem friendly
upon your first encounter, do not befriend it. You will only meet one, and there is
a catch associated with this: the one you meet will give you food but eat seven of
your men, or you can leave the island and search elsewhere in hopes of survival. Be
careful, because they move so quickly, you may not notice at first that your men are
missing. Their trickery is nothing to be tested. If it were me, I would stay here. It is
the lesser of two evils.
I did not have the time to thank the delicate, yet tricky soul of Hermes as he
vanished away into the air. I could only imagine that one, likely the one
recommended for me, was the lesser of two evils. Nevertheless, my crew, in front of
me, waded through the little amount of water we had yet to maneuver about and
washed up ashore. I followed ponderously in travail.
The island was much more vast than I had imagined, and as I got closer

In this case study Roger Gray and the Anderson Plastics Inc. Company has a many
purchasing problems and concerns. All of these problems are not directly caused my
Roger Gray himself or the purchasing department. In this report I will explain these

One problem in this company is the lack of staff in the purchasing department. The
plants number of products has increased from 250 to 550 and Roger Gray is still
the only real purchasing agent for the company. I believe with more help Roger Gray
could spend more time monitoring inventories instead of filling out order forms on

Holding more of the stock on hand would also be an appropriate way to help
prevent stock outs. The company has never criticized Roger Gray for having too
many items in stock. It is not necessary to hold the extra items that you don t sell as
much in stock, just the primary items. By holding more of the primary resources in
stock you will still be able to produce the items that generate the most income. This
will help keep customers happy, and will also keep some of the plant running saving
some money for the company.
The materials management systems need to be updated. They are never truly up
to date or real time amounts. The case says that the systems are usually a day or
two behind so Roger never actually knows what he has in stock. In order for Roger
Gray to be able to do his job more effectively it would help if he knew what he had
on hand at any given time. Upgraded computer and company software and
hardware as a whole would make the company more efficient. The company may
also need to find a different way of controlling and monitoring stock numbers.
Possibly people could alert Roger or one of his fellow staff members when they
are taking a load of materials to a new place or area of the plant so he is aware of
where everything is at all times. Another issue within the company is the lack of
communication from one department to the other. This was the cause of one of the
stock outs

Reset the wave to oscillate, adjust amplitude to 100, change frequency to 30 and
change dampening to 30. What happens to the wave?
What do you think dampening means in terms of energy?
With the dampening, the amplitude of the wave decreases as the wave propagates
along the x axis, but the wavelength appears to be about the same. The dampening
must be causing a decrease in velocity because energy is mechanical = 1/2mv2 and
velocity = Asin (бЅ t). As energy decreases, so will amplitude. Decrease in energy
can be caused by friction.
Conclusion:
The objective of this simulation was to create waves on a string by varying the
amplitude and frequency of the oscillator and to compare the effect of string
tension, dampening, and how the string is held at the end. If the string had no end,
then the wave would propagate down the string toward infinity. If the string was
held with a loose end, the wave would be reflected back at the oscillator or a fixed
end, the wave would be inverted. When a reflected wave would combine with
other waves coming from the opposite direction, the wave amplitudes of the waves
are summed constructively (amplitudes of the waves are summed) or destructively
(amplitudes of the waves cancel out each other). However, in reality the waves are
actually moving pass one other and emerge as their original form. These reflected
waves will continue forever as long as no force lowers their energy. Adding a
damping force decreases the energy of the wave, which caused
18. Montaigne And Machiavelli Mission Analysis
Montaigne and Machiavelli s Mission
Michel de Montaigne and NiccolГІ Machiavelli were revolutionary philosophers
searching to understand human nature. Michel de Montaigne was a cultural relativist
who believed no man was more savage than the next whereas Machiavelli believed
everyman was savage and would do whatever it takes to achieve personal gain. Even
though these revolutionary thinkers took very different approaches to addressing
human nature they both showed traits of being enlightened monarchs and great
thinkers who knew the power belongs to the people rather than the monarch. Michel
de Montaigne and NiccolГІ Machiavelli were great leaders of their time but they
knew most leaders and monarchs during European expansion were corrupt and
viewed themselves above others. The elevated thinkers published many great works
such as On the Cannibals or The Prince that were in a way guidebooks for men of
the time depicting what they believed. Even though the men are nearly 100 years
apart their humanistic beliefs on personal gain and expansion were revolutionary.
You can see connections betwixt the two men s theory s beginning with how they
addressed the savage man. Michel de Montaigne used his experience with the
cannibal people of Brazil to persuade people that the only way to understand a culture
is to look at it through the eyes of that culture. Montaigne was one of the first
philosophers to push the theory of cultural relativism and believed people shouldn t
judge cultures

There are now approximately 170 various denominations that identify as Pentecostal.
The Charismatic movement, or neo Pentecostalism, was born in 1960 when Episcopal
priest Dennis Bennett, during the Passion Sunday service, both spoke in tongues and
announced that he had received baptism in the Holy Spirit. Although this event is
associated with the official beginning of the Charismatic movement, it must be noted
that many other Pentecostals and even mainline Christians are considered essential to
the birth and spread of the movement. They include such names as David du Plessis,
Smith Wigglesworth, Agnes Sanford, Kenneth McAll, Presbyterian pastor James
Brown, and Lutheran minister Harald Bredesen. Those who embrace the beliefs and
practices of the Charismatic movement do not generally align themselves with any
particular mainline Christian denomination. However, Charismatics are found today
in all the major Christian denominations, especially in the Pentecostal, Lutheran,
Episcopalian, and Catholic Churches. The term Charisma means gift, so therefore
Charismatics denote those that demonstrate one or many of the supernatural gifts of
the Holy Spirit.
B. The Beliefs of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements
Pentecostals and Charismatics have similarities in their theological and
ecclesiological beliefs. Both Pentecostals and Charismatics believe in the following:

Exploring the African American Woman s Identity through the Arts
In the Africa American culture, there has been a longstanding discussion of the black
woman s physical appearance and how they identify themselves in society. Though
there are many themes of the Black experience in the media that discuss the standard
of beauty Black women should have. However, theatre has a creative and tactful way
of exploring these topics that are considered taboo in the African Americanculture.
During the Black Arts Movement, topics such as black empowerment and self
identity were the blue print for what the movement stood for. In reference to, A Brief
Guide to the Black Arts Movement Writers, African American artists within the
movement sought to create politically engaged work that explored the African
American cultural and historical experience (A Brief Guide to the Black Arts
Movement Writers.1). Prolific writers such as, Ntozake Shange s, Amari Baraka, and
Nikki Giovanni, just to name a few, were revolutionary in a creative and political
movement, which allowed for writers and poets to demonstrate the pains and qualms
of what African Americans faced in Western society. Two African American
playwrights, Lorraine Hansberry and Adrienne Kennedy, expounded on these topics
in their plays A Raisin in the Sun and Funny House Negro. In the further exploration
of stigmas of African American female hair and self identification through theatre,
these plays will be used as a platform to

Sheriffs Department capacity of 2,345. In 1989, these facilities were holding up to
4,500 inmates and the numbers were climbing giving San Diego the dubious
distinction of being the most overcrowded system in the country. To determine more
effective ways of handling the increasing number of inmates, the county
commissioned two external feasibility studies (1985 and 1989), as well as an internal
study. With respect to foodservice, the findings of all the studies supported the
creation of a centralized cook/chill system for the county s facilities. There are two
basic methods of cook/chill: cryo vat (tumble ... Show more content on

22. Application Of Distributed Application Challenges
Distributed Application Challenges In the past applications were monolithic, and
built on a single stack such as .Net or Java and ran on a single server. There is no
way to get around building distributed software in today s market. Just think about the
software out there today. The market consist of many different variations of
architecture tier an application may have such as an UI tier, caching tier, application
tier, and persistence tier such as SQL or table logging. Multiple components may
spread across machines today. Software will have associated dependencies and these
component dependencies can be in conflict. One component might be dependent on a
certain DLL and another component for another one. Those two different versions...

If you have these two component on the same machine, you are not clear on what
kind of machine you will need because they will have very different scale
characteristics. It will be wasteful to have the same execution environments even
though they have different scale characteristics. Developers also deal with test and
production to move throughout the development life cycle. Since developers are
increasingly building distributed operating systems, the way to deal with
complexity is using the concepts of containers. Containers are a native OS
construct that provide light weight isolation. In Linux there is a concept that is
comprised of different sub concepts. There are namespaces that provide isolations
for user database, processes and IP addresses. Think of a container as hosted on
top of an Linux OS and it gets its own database, processes and IP addresses. It also
gets cgroups which governs resources. They make sure that not one container is
using all the resources but it shared all the way across. Each container gets a read
write view such a Union File system. These three make up the idea of a container. If
you build an application in the cloud, chances are it is a distributed application.
Distributed applications have a number of characteristics that need to be considered
carefully. Containers assist developers in making software portable. The software
looks the same everywhere you deploy and run it. Also developers will not need to
23. Analysis Of Miss Brill
Analysis of the Point of View in Miss Brill
Katherine Mansfield s short story, Miss Brill, is a well written story of an elderly,
unmarried woman in Europe. In Miss Brill, Katherine Mansfield uses stream of
consciousness point of view to show alienation and loneliness, appearances and
reality, and Miss Brill s perceptions as she attempts to make herself fit in with the
park goers. Miss Brill is an older lady who makes a living teaching English to school
children and reading newspapers to an old invalid gentleman (Wilson 2: 139). Her
joy in life comes in her visits to the park on Sunday where she is notorious for
sitting in on other people s lives (Wilson 2: 140). It is there that her ritualistic,
monotonous journey that Miss Brill refers to as a play takes place.
From the beginning of the story, it becomes apparent that Miss Brill is the epitome
of the definition of lonely. She starves to have just a little warmth and
companionship. In the story, she has a fur necklet that she tenderly caresses as if it
were a pet that she rubs the life into the little dim eyes (Mansfield 175). Loneliness
in Miss Brill is also shown through the music in the park. The loneliness is shown
through her perception of how the music is like someone playing with only the
family to listen (Mansfield 175). The whole time, Miss Brill thinks of herself as
part of this family playing the music, but in reality she is just an on site observer.
On this particular Sunday, it was the first day of the Season so the band seemed
louder and gayer (Mansfield 175). However, Miss Brill is somewhat disappointed that
there are only two people near where she is seated (Wilson 2: 136) Because they do
not talk, her little world that she is rebuffed by that world and her fantasy falls apart
(Wilson 2: 140).
When the characters in the play are silent, Miss Brill imagines what they must be
saying. However, their silence makes eavesdropping on their lives quite difficult
(Wilson 2: 145). She also has a tendency to judge the characters, seeing them in
ways that others in the garden likely view her. For instance, she finds many of the
older people in the garden odd, silent, nearly all old, and from the way they stared
they looked as though

Measuring tornadoes
We use Fujita Pearson to measure the strength or force of a tornado. There are 6 F
scale numbers. F6 is the highest category with wind speed 319 379 mph. Next, F5
is incredible tornado with wind speed 261 318 mph. Next, F4 is devastating tornado
with wind speed 207 260 mph. It is completely capable of flattening cars and hurling
cattle, and F1 can push a mobile home off its foundation.
Naming tornadoes
The term comes from the Spanish word tornado . It is the past participle of the
Spanish verb tornar, which means to turn. It also stems from the word tornada,
meaning thunderstorm.

project an open, inclusive image for Harley.
While the visual promotional effect of the Posse Rides should be exploited as
much as possible, commercializing them should be avoided. The Posse participants
are Harley s best customers and this event should be an opportunity to reward them,
not exploit them. The indirect benefits, such as building brand awareness and
loyalty, are much more important than short term sales. Given the wide differences
in income, raising prices and/or offering special amenities for additional costs, will
simply drive off working class participants that blow their annual wad on one rally.
This would change the nature of the Posse from an open, inclusive group to a rich,
closed one.
The Posse Rides should also continue to maintain their exclusivity. If everyone can
get a Posse T shirt because of merchandising they will not be worth having to real
Posse Riders. Keeping the number of participants small also adds to the feeling of
exclusivity, as well as only having a Posse Rides no more than once a year. This
should also help to maintain a feeling of spontaneity that is missing from regional
HOG events.
Next Steps/Recommendations to Maximize Effectiveness and Profitability

Chapter 1 Literature Review 1.1Definition: Sex offender and Sexual offence A sex
offender is an individual convicted of a sex crime including such offences as rape,
sexual assault, offences related to prostitution, or against children, severe
pornography and the ownership and circulation of offensive images (The Crown

Through its cognitive behavioural approach, offenders are encouraged to develop
significant life goals and change cognitive and behavioural patterns to reduce the risk

community have lower sexual reconviction rates compared to those who do not
receive treatment, which concurs with findings from an exploratory investigation of
twenty six research studies which showed a 27% reduction in sexual offending for
sex offenders receiving treatment (Schmucker Losel, 2009). Circles of Support and

sex offenders to help minimise isolation and support re integration back into the

29. Figurative Language In The Dramatist
F igurative language is the language that expresses one thing in terms of another by
analogy, extension, or other association. A critical approach to drama written in
verse requires the knowledge of not only of metre but also the function and
purpose of the various figures of speech. These should never be only decoration
because they are one of the means by which the playwright can develop and express
his meaning. The various figures of speech have often been made interchangeable,
thus a satisfactory definition of them is difficult to provide. There is a tendency to
include symbols, similes, and metaphors making up the imagery. Metaphorical is
used to mean figurative and symbolical or symbolizes is often applied to almost any
of the figurative... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this technique, understanding is suggested not through conscious evaluations like
those of a chorus aware of everything, a character specially endowed with authority,
or the observers who interpret a central referent but through devices of speech that
implicitly reveal a level of awareness beyond the speaker s own comprehension. By
introducing changes of tone, images, allusions, ambiguous words, and variation in
sound, or by making a speech from words, images, and symbols repeated or
duplicated in other contexts, the dramatist breaks the barrier of human limitations of
his individualized characters. Through these devices, the dramatist creates
authoritative dramatic facts relevant to all the characters. None of these stylistic
devices can function alone. They acquire their significance from the general context
of the action, which, they in turn try help to elucidate through their own
contributions. Each of these stylistic devices works with other devices, of language
and structure, in provoking the spectators to view the action as a whole in a certain
perspective. This lack of autonomy is especially true of the sound pattern into which
the dramatist shapes his words, that is, the pattern produced by variations in stress
and pitch, differences in the placement and duration of pauses, the relationships
between individual words or lines, the presence or absence of rhyme, and the contrast
of one speaking voice with another. While it is possible to isolate and describe this
pattern, the resulting description can embody no specific meaning. The sound pattern
may have only appropriateness, meaning that the emotion articulated by the content
of expressive words determines their arrangement. Nevertheless, in many instances
sound devices lead the spectator toward a clearer understanding of the situation
presented. Rhyme implies a
30. Symbolism In Esperanza Rising
Esperanza Ortega of El Rancho de las Rosas is a young Hispanic girl that must
overcome strenuous obstacles in order to help her family. The novel Esperanza
Rising by Pam MuГ±oz Ryan has many symbols that contribute to the theme, but one
of the major motifs present is the process of crocheting the quilt. This symbol lasts
throughout the entire book, but the message only gets stronger for this symbol goes
hand in hand with the storyline. Esperanza is an only child in her family, and during
this time it was not acceptable for womanto own land. When Esperanza s papa gets
killed there were no other men in the family, so the land that Esperanza had grew
up on and loved would soon all be taken away, unless her mama sacrificers herself
and marries the rude brother of Esperanza s papa. This idea of men owning land is
one main reason why Esperanza s family must migrate to California. If Esperanza
was male, this story would not exist because the land would be given to her. Since
Esperanza is a female, the story has a complication in the plot that needs to be
overcame. This is the first obstacle that Esperanza must triumph over: leaving home
to somewhere unknown. Throughout the book Esperanza, mama, and abuelita work
on crocheting a quilt. The crocheting of this quilt has a special process that relates
greatly to the journey Esperanza takes. In order to crochet like abuelita you must add
ten stitches up to the top of the mountain. Add one stitch. Nine stitches down to the
bottom of the valley. Skip one (MuГ±oz Ryan 14). During the novelEsperanza has to
climb to the top of mountains and go down to the bottom of valleys in order to
complete her journey. The novel begins with Esperanza at the top of a beautiful
mountain, but when her papa dies, her house gets burned down, abuelita getting hurt,
and they have to migrate to California Esperanza is at the lowest point in the valley.
She sees all that is ahead, but in her eyes it is a huge mountain that needs to be
climbed. This will be a long strenuous journey with many more obstacles, but
Esperanza is stronger than she knows. The crochet technique of making mountains
and valleys applies greatly to everything that Esperanza goes through on her migration
to California.

Methodology In the Montessori methodology, all curriculum areas arranged into
five areas: practical life, sensorial, language, math, and cultural. Each activity is
carefully sequenced that is has a methodical, engaging logic the purpose is to help
children develop problem solving skills in real practical ways, (Johnson, 2006).
While engaged in discovering autonomy children displayed a joyous and happy
nature when taking the initiative to explore new things. In the practical life setting
is the heartbeat, so to speak of the Montessori, (Johnson, 2006), because respecting a
child s desire to exercise independency, and build s the child s confidence elevates
pride in themselves. Understanding: HighScope Approach The HighScope approach
teaches children how to use words to express emotions. Children learn that words
have meaning (HighScope Preschool, 2014), and have as much impact as touching.
As the teacher acknowledges the child is frustrated, but remains calm and sensitive to
the child. The child learns to self regulate their behavior, even if the anger is

32. Societal Views on Abortion Essay example
When asked about abortion most people try not to even think about the subject.
Abortion is the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or
closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus. (Merrian Webster) Since
abortion was legalized in 1973 there have been over 35 million abortions performed.
Approximately 1 in every 6 women has had an abortion, giving a total of about 4,000
abortions each day in the United States only. Planned Parenthood s mission is to help
every woman make their own choice about abortion and not have official government
leaders be their voice. On the other hand the Pregnancy Testing Centers are

By 1965 all states banned abortion, with the exception if it was in order to save the
mother s life, if the fetus was deformed, or in cases of rape and or incest. In the
early 1970s two young lawyers, by the name of Coffee and Weddington in Texas
volunteered to help a woman wanted an abortion after she allegedly stated she had
been raped. However, the case failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove she was
actually raped and attempted to obtain an illegal abortion. The case that is better
known today as Roe v. Wadeworked its way all the up to the Supreme Court and
until today is considered to be one of the most controversial yet significant in U.S
Supreme Court history. In 1973 the US Supreme Court overturned the abortion law
in Georgia with a case called Doe v. Bolton. In 1998, the Texas supreme court
upheld $1.2 million in damages against antiabortion protesters who has staged
massive demonstrations at Houston abortion clinics during the 1992 Republican

The Reaping The citizens of each of twelve districts in Panem are forced to
participate in the traumatizing, Hunger Games. Attempting to overthrow The
Capitol, now each District must; sacrifice a boy and a girl who will later compete
against twenty two other people from the age ranges of twelve to eighteen. The
Capitol established these games as a reminder they are in power. According to a
citizen, Katniss Everdeen says Attendance is mandatory unless you are at death s
door. This evening, officials will come around and check to see if this is the case.
If not, you ll be imprisoned. In punishment for the uprising, each of the twelve
districts must provide one girl and one boy, called tributes, to participate. The
twenty four tributes will be imprisoned in a vast outdoor arena that could hold
anything from a burning desert to a frozen wasteland. Over a period of several
weeks, the competitors must fight to the death. Katniss also stated this about The
Capitol this is the Capitol s way of reminding us how totally we are at their mercy.
How little chance we would stand for surviving another rebellion. Whatever words
they use, the real message is clear. Look how we take your children and sacrifice
them and there s nothing you can do. If you lift a finger, we will destroy every last
one of you. The Ceremony of Twelve In another community a very important

35. Exceptions Under The Exclusionary Rule
In criminal justice the exclusionary rule prohibits the use of illegally seized evidence
or evidence that violates the offenders rights under the fourth, fifth, or sixth
amendment. There are three exceptions under the exclusionary rule, fruit of the
poisoned tree , inevitable discovery exception, and the good faith exception. These
three exceptions each allow evidence that can be considered illegally obtained to be
admissible in a court of law, given it fits in certain constraints.
Fruit of the poisoned tree is a term for any verbal or physical evidence obtained by
using illegally obtained evidence. The basis of the fruit of the poisoned tree concept
is that like a poisoned tree would bear poisonous fruit, evidence that is obtained
because of illegally obtained evidence is also therefore illegally obtained. This
concept could be considered tier one under the exclusionary rule. The exclusionary
rule and its counterparts were first applied in courts in 1914. The idea of the
exclusionary rule is to maintain proper police procedure. If police officers present
legally obtained evidence, they have a higher chance of getting the offender
convicted. This works as a rewards system. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

been discovered either way, making the evidence, though technically illegally
obtained, admissible in
36. The Importance Of College Is A College Worth It
Every year, around 20.4 million students in the United States go to college. Most
students enroll in their college or university without thinking of a simple question.
Is all the hard work worth it? Personally, I have never given this question any
serious consideration and the research I have done has opened my eyes. I attend
classes along with over 5,000 students here at UNK, and I doubt many have had the
opportunity to do the research and decide for themselves. As I began my research to
answer the question, I noticed something that stood out to me. There are many more
articles that say collegeis well worth it, than articles that say otherwise. I began with
an article by Liz Weston of TIME. She provided statements and research on both
side but ultimately swayed towards saying that a bachelors degree is worth more
than a high school diploma. She situated the article based on The reduced
conviction among recent graduates is hardly surprising. Those grads emerged with
more debt and poorer employment prospects due to a struggling economy. As the
debt gets paid off and their earnings rise, they may have a change of heart . My
parents told me growing up that they took college for granted when they graduated,
but as they got older they realized the importance. My father told me recently that
the company he works for tends to not hire people without college degrees because
some of the requirements for promotions to higher positions require a bachelors or
even a masters in
37. The National Trust For Historic Preservation Essay
Mini Case Study #2
Question 1
How does the case of the National Trust for Historic Preservation reflect the concept
of resource dependence discussed in this chapter? How does it reflect the interaction
between sources of revenue and priorities?
In the case of the National Trust for Historical Preservation (this will be referred to
in the future as NTHP in this paper), the concept is reflected in their decision to
break away from government funding. Because Congress had designated them as a
trust, they had a large portion of their budget in their hands, about a fifth. When
budgeting constraints began to be too close for comfort, the NTHP was done dealing
with Congress. They were done being lobbyists on our own behalf (Adelman, 2005)
and wanted to do more with what resources they had from other grants and
memberships. This interaction of revenue stream and priorities came to a confluence
and then a compromise. This compromise helped the NTHP establish what they felt
was important, and put their priorities first. Because they now were leaning away
from government support, their true priorities could be established without the
lobbying and bias of the Congress of the United States.
Question 2
Think back on (or read again) the discussion in Chapter 2 about the functions that
nonprofit organizations perform with regard to government. How does the case of
the National Trust for Historic Preservation reflect those various roles?

subsequent research activities in this area and related areas have found applications
in many branches of science and engineering. Intuitionistic fuzzy set was introduced

work on this paper. C.L.Chang [8] introduced and studied fuzzy topological spaces in
1968 as a generalization of topological spaces. Many researchers like R.H.Warren

39. Sun Tzu Chapter 4 Summary
In chapter 4 of Sun Tzu: Art of War, tactical disposition explains the importance of
defending existing positions until a commander is capable of advancing from those
positions in safety. It teaches commanders the importance of recognizing strategic
opportunities, and teaches not to create opportunities for the enemy.
Line 4.1 Sun Tzu said: The good fighters of old first put themselves beyond the
possibility of defeat, and then waited for an opportunity of defeating the enemy. This
means to win the battle, the right opportunity is needed, which may take time to find.
During that time of unreadiness, we may face the attack of enemy and defeated by
them. So, the defence comes first. In business, the cash cows may be exposed to attack

For an instance, if a weaker force holding a defensible higher position, it will defend
more and hoping perhaps to see a weakness in their attackers into which they can sally
forth. However, when he is attacking, this shown that he is in superabundance of
military strength. Strong forces can successfully attack a defensive position only if
they are strong enough to break through. This may require very significant attacking
advantage. During the war, a skilled defensive general hides in the most secret
recesses of the earth and adept in concealing his advantageous until the enemy
difficult to detect or scout. Oppositely, a skilled attacking general will attack like
flashes forth from the topmost heights of heaven and able to disorder or surprise his
enemy. Thus, the leader must unashamedly know their strengths and weaknesses in
both defense and attack and act accordingly. If they are weak in attack, they should
seek an unassailable position which is easy to defend. Concealment is an art that does
not literally meet going underground, If the enemy cannot find us, we may hide in
plain sight. If they cannot see our strength or know our plans,

I find that food defines me, and my family by its humble upbringings that remind
us all to remember where we come from. My parents came from Romania to escape
Communism in 1989 by moving to the United States to give me and my siblings a
better life. One food in particular that represents my family s heritage, is the plate
called Ciorba which translates to bean soup. Not only does it taste amazing but it s
always a dish that resembles how grateful I am to have parents that sacrificed a lot
of their life to give me a better upbringing. Every time I eat Ciorba I always feel
that a part of my parent s history was surviving on what they could in Communist
Romania and realizing the freedom I have each bite I take of this cherished meal.
There were many foodshortages when Communism took place in Romania, which
is the reason a lot of the dishes have food that could be easily grown with simple
ingredients. A plate is known as Cartofi prajati cu usturoi which translates to fried
potatoes with garlic and pork has always been cooked by my grandmother. This
dish, in particular, has been a plate I could cook in many ways since I was little. The
food my grandmother makes represents tradition, humility, and love. I always enjoy...

When my parents lived in Romania, religion was not tolerated, and churches were
burned by the government, along with religious books of any form. Nicolae
Ceausescu, the Romanian dictator promoted brainwashing propaganda to terrify the
population into conforming to a nonreligion political agenda that prosecuted anyone
who preached or practiced religion. So around the holidays, it holds a bittersweet but
meaningful symbol that my family celebrates the freedom to practice religion. The
celebration, of course, includes a lot of sweets that symbolize the gift of life and
gratitude towards god providing better times spent happily with

Mr. Eric Schwartz of PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) provided the Audit Committee
with a presentation of the audit of fiscal 2015 consolidated financial statements of
Dartmouth Hitchcock Health and Subsidiaries.
PriceWaterhouseCoopers issued an unmodified opinion on the consolidated financial
statements. Areas identified for audit procedures for NLHA include entity level
controls, revenue, long term debt, fixed assets, salaries and benefits and consideration
of fraud.
Procedures to validate the existence and valuation of net patient service revenue
included agreeing charges to medical records, billing and related cash receipts. No
exceptions were noted during testing.
Fixed asset testing involved tracing of fiscal 2015 additions, recalculation of
depreciation expense and examination of new leases for proper classification as
operating or capital leases. No exceptions were noted.
PwC confirmed 100% of NLHA outstanding debt, tested 2015 debt repayments, and
examined debt covenant calculations for accuracy and did not identify any issues.
Procedures for salary and benefits traced data from human resources through to
payroll expense for employees selected for audit substantiation. No exceptions were
noted.
Management override of controls and risk of fraud for revenue recognition were
areas identified as a significant risk for DH H and all Affiliates.
42. Are Environmental Chemicals Associated with Obesity in...
Are environmental chemicals associated with obesity in humans? Abstract Obesity
has become a grave issue in the contemporary world of technological and scientific
advancements that is rising at an unprecedented rate not only in adults, but children
and teenagers are equally being affected by the epidemic of obesity. However, various
factors have been identified and determined that leads to the development of obesity,
amongst which the environmental chemicals (such as bisphenol A, nicotine, air
pollution, phthalates, perfluorooctanoic acid and so forth) are playing an integral
role in its development. In this regard, the report has intended to identify whether
environmental chemicals are associated with obesity in humans or not. The overall
studies and researches have concluded the same idea that interaction of human body
with certain environmental chemicals bring about obesity amongst the masses,
regardless of their age, gender or race, as these chemicals are evidently used in plastic
bottles and aluminum cans for foods and beverages. This is usually because these
chemicals disturb and disrupt the human metabolism, which increases and activates
the fat cells, thus resulting in obesity. Introduction Since the humans first walked on
the planet Earth, they have encountered numerous changes in virtually every facet of
life whether it is demographic growth, global environment, food production, social
concerns and so forth. The principal reason behind the survival and
43. Career As An Individual Phenomenon
Whilst a great body of careers theory literature leans towards career as an individual
phenomenon (Schneidhofer, Latzke Mayrhofer, 2015), careers cannot be isolated
from other factors. Grandjean (1981, p.1057) places careers at the intersection of
societal history and individual biography . Changes in context do impact on careers,
however, the extent to which they do so in isolation is difficult to measure. Context
has an important part to play, offering careers a set of external structures and events
that create opportunities and difficulties (Inkson, Dries Arnold, 2015). Changes in
context are inexplicably driven by the forward motion of time. It has been argued that
individual reaction to such changes facilitates career... Show more content on

In recent years digital globalisation has had a significant influence in the way in
which individuals and organisations work. Virtual working and crowdsourcing will
be examined as examples of contemporary practices and ideas will be supported by
empirical evidence from the last ten years. (Examples from 2008 onwards will be
used where possible given impact of the financial crash and relevance to the current
labour market). The argument will then progress to discuss the broader implications
to career patterns reviewing the traditional organisational career model and more
contemporary concepts.
It is my opinion that changes in context do impact careers significantly in positive
and negative ways. Digital globalisation has improved world communication and
increased geographical reach. However it has the possibility to lead to explotation
and dehumanisation (Kittur, Nickerson, Bernstein and Gerber, 2013) and the
devaluation of skills. The consequences of changes in context on careers are not
exclusively contextual. Individuals, and their responses to such changes, also exert
influence. Careers evolve. Traditional careers are not obsolete replaced by
contemporary models, rather they co exit.
The following section will examine why the impact of changes in context on careers
is difficult to measure in order to give the reader a deeper understanding of the issues
at hand.

What musical theatre does best is to be abstract, not literal reality. Julie Taymor
director of The Lion King, did exactly this when she directed the musical The Lion
King. The Lion King
Broadway show in 1997 won six Tony awards, eight Drama Desk awards and the
Theatrical
World Award. Everything in this show including lighting, choreography,
orchestration, scenery, costume design, and performance all came together to make
an unforgettable masterpiece.

45. Descriptive Essay On The Mall
I pranced myself across the parking lot off the mall with a grin on my face because
my parents were taking me to the local mall. I walked into the mall jubilant and
ecstatic because the Polaris Mall had a mini playground for kids and they had this
climbing wall which I completely adored. I could have never foretold the events
which took place next. The moment I walked in, I felt a fresh blast of air
conditioner air on my face. I looked around, taking in the ambiance of the mall. The
Starbucks to the right of me, the Nike store to the left of me. But I quickly forgot
about these trivial matters and I sprinted to the playgroundand immediately leaped to
the top of the slide. I slid down the slide, swung on the swings and saved the best
for last, the climbing wall. After I finished all of the other playground equipment, I
bounded over the playground with wide strides with a wide grin on my face at the
climbing wall. There was a couple of kids at the bottom of the climbing wall, I didn
t pay too much attention to them. There were also kids just like me climbing the
wall with skill and dexterity. I was determined to ascend the top of the climbing wall
before them.
I scaled the wall faster than I have ever thought possible. In doing so, I was
reckless, my feet placed themselves where I thought was a climbing rock. My other
foot immediately relocated itself and I lurched to the right and my feet displaced
themselves. I found myself no longer on the climbing wall but in mid air
46. Essay on Running Record Analysis
Every day teachers are required to make decisions before, during and after teaching.
Some of these decisions will seem small and insignificant and others will have far
reaching consequences. All of the assessment undertaken and subsequent decisions
made can potentially enhance teaching and influence student learning outcomes for
the better (Brady amp; Kennedy, 2009). There are numerous things to be assessed
and various methods for assessing. One example of this is the assessment of reading.
A Running Record is one method of assessing a child s reading (Hill, 2012). The
running record allows the teacher to note a child s reading behaviour as he or she
reads from a chosen text. It examines both the accuracy of reading and the types of...

In this instance it seems to contribute to James being able to read almost the entire
text correctly. By the time James reaches the fifth line of the text he seems to have
worked out he can predict the language of the text using his memory for the text and
meaning information he ascertains from the illustrations (Hill, 2012).
At line 16 James makes an error reading The little bear instead of The teddy bear .
Given the repetitive and predictable nature of the preceding text it may be concluded
that James is using meaning cues from the illustrations to work out the sentence will
be about a bear coupled with what he already knows about the text; that little was
used in all previous sentences to describe each object. James has worked out that this
text uses both images and print to convey meaning (Holliday, 2008).
James appears to be using limited cross checking behaviours. Self correction
behaviour is nil, at least in this instance. Evidence shows he is using mostly meaning
and visual cues and not drawing on structural cues. As a result of not utilising all the
sources of information afforded by the text his understanding and comprehension of
the text is quite limited and there is no evidence he has really connected with the text.
In recent years there has been much research on reading
47. Bunsen Burner Lab
In the lab, Bunsen Burner operation, we were given 6 known substances (Calcium
Chloride, Copper Chloride, Lithium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride,
and Strontium Chloride) and 4 unknown substances. The goal of this lab was to
match 4 of the known substances to the 4 unknown substances. Scientists are able to
do this because when the wooden splint is inserted into the hottest part of the flame
the electrons entered an excited state and release energy in the form of visible light.
The light emitted is unique for every metal ion because every ion has a distinct
electron configuration. Scientists are then able to identify what substance was
burned from the color of the flame. But the color of the flame is actually a mix of
different wavelengths. They use a spectroscope to identify what the wavelengths are
and to more accurately say what the identity of the substance is.... Show more content

Then take a wooden splint out of the beaker that it was in and insert the tip into the
hottest part of the flame. Then the person that was using the spectroscope would then
align the light slit in the spectroscope to the color of the flame. They would then read
off what they saw on the emission line spectrum and the estimated wavelength
numbers. We would then repeat the process of using the spectroscope again for
another trail of the same substance. After this we would repeat the same process of
the two trials for all known and unknown substances. The data that we collected was
the flame color, the colors on the emission line spectrum, and their corresponding
estimated wavelength numbers. We collected this data because we thought that it
would help us the most with matching up the known to the

Evaluative Essay

Evaluative Analysis: The Shawshank Redemption When it comes to movies, I am
not exactly what you could consider well versed. Had it not been for several close
friends of mine, I would have never even seen blockbuster hits such as Harry Potter,
The Lord of the Rings, or Back to the Future. The reason for this is not because I
dislike watching movies, but rather due to the restrictive nature of my parents. Thus, I
have not had the privilege to enjoy The Shawshank Redemption, Frank Darabont s
1994 adaptation of the Stephen King novel, until recently. Due to countless positive
reviews and the recommendations of friends, I anticipated that it would be a must see
for those mature enough to appreciate its commentary on the human condition. After
viewing the flick, I can certainly verify The Shawshank Redemption deserves its must
see status, as it contains such relatable themes and excellent cinematic techniques.
Various themes are presented in the film; however, the most prevalent of these
themes are the severity of isolation and the redeeming qualities of hope. The
Shawshank Redemption follows the story of Andy Dufresne, a man wrongly
convicted of the murder of his wife and her lover, and his time spent at the
Shawshank prison, as well as Andy s eventual escape. Early on, it becomes extremely
evident that those imprisoned at Shawshank must deal with unbearable isolation on
multiple levels. Shawshank
49. Abortion Should NOT Be Legal In The United States
Because this is a first essay, it seems only appropriate that I introduce to you about
what you should expect from now in the future.
I am a teenager, of average weight, 5 9 tall, and wear glasses. I have dark brown to
black hair, dark brown eyes, wear size 10.5 in shoes, and wear a size small to medium
depending on the brand of the shirt.
Objects that I am incredibly fond of are sweets, such as chocolate and caramel,
strawberry and chocolate milk, ice cream of any flavor, and cookies with milk. I am
also fond of colorful sunsets and sunrises, spending time with friends, the feeling of
clothes freshly out of the dryer, and the smooth top of a brand new jar of peanut
butter.
I personally believe that same sex marriage should be legal while abortion should not
be legal to certain extents. I oppose raising taxes but agree with giving citizenships to
certain immigrants. For example, ones who don t cause any crime and entrepreneurs
who promote our economy. I disagree with provisions such as ones that force citizens
to have health insurance but agree with having the Death Penalty as a form of
punishment for criminals. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Police officers shouldn t be treating people of color inferiorly. They are just like
every other person on this earth and should not be treated as if they automatically
were criminals. On the other hand, people shouldn t be harming and killing cops
for the actions of a few flawed cops. Most police officers are there to help and
protect the community and everyone inside of it. They do not want to cause any
harm and only want to help. However, the thing that irritates me the most is how
people judge one another just by their appearance. Take homeless people for
instance. Have you seen the videos of how people would just walk straight past a
homeless person in serious need yet they give money to girls holding up signs for
makeup? That alone just infuriates

In Greek Mythology, there are Gods and Goddesses for many things, such as
happiness, fertility, and celebrations. However, there are not many Greek Gods and
Goddesses for grim matters, such as death. Hades is the God of the dead and wealth
and is the King of the Underworld. Hades is a Greek God with an interesting
childhood, a special family, and many myths surrounding him.
Hades had a very unusual childhood. As a young child, he and his brother, Poseidon
were swallowed by his father Cronus, due to a rumor that one of his children will
dethrone him. The rumor was true, when Zeus, his younger brother tricked him into
throwing up all of his children. Then, all three of the brothers teamed up and
defeated Crous along with all the other Titans. Afterwards, they drew lots for the
share of the world. He drew the Underworld, which was the least favorable out of the
choices. This is why Hades now rules the Underworld, while his brothers rule on the

considered infertile, due to being the God of the dead. Therefore, he got Zeus to
impregnate Persephone, Zeus daughter. Afterwards, he was given two children,
Macaria and Erinyes. In the end, Hades was now given a family thanks to help from

51. Essay On Italian Immigrants In Philadelphia
In a discussion in class, we talked about how we would investigate why certain
groups of people or located in certain sections of the city. As a class we made city
maps, my map shared many sections of the city. However, what I noticed is that
my map was empty in certain places that I do not identify with. One section in
particular was South Philadelphia, as Italian and Irish people mainly live there. I

interest to investigate Italians in Philadelphia. I will investigate the history of how
the Italian immigrants made it to my city. Italians have been a part of the view in
Philadelphia since colonial times. In 1665, a group of Italian Protestants came to
New Sweden seeking religious asylum. Philadelphia and Delaware were all part of
the same New Sweden. It is assumed that many from the original group of 150
came to live in Philadelphia when the English took over Philadelphia. William
Penn believed in religious freedom and had visited Italy as a Quakers. Many early
Italians were able to pray with French and other European Catholics later when the
Establishment of Old St. Joseph s Church in 1733 was built. In 1758, the first Italian
