Introducing Yourself Essay
Crafting an essay about introducing yourself may seem like a straightforward task, but the
difficulty lies in striking the right balance between providing relevant information and
maintaining a captivating narrative. The challenge is to present yourself in a unique and engaging
way without coming across as too boastful or mundane.
To begin with, self-reflection becomes a crucial aspect of the writing process. Choosing which
aspects of your identity, experiences, and personality to highlight requires careful consideration.
Finding the right tone is another hurdle—too formal, and you risk sounding distant; too
informal, and you may appear unprofessional.
Furthermore, the challenge extends to organizing your thoughts coherently. A well-structured
essay must have a compelling introduction, a body that seamlessly transitions between different
aspects of your life, and a conclusion that leaves a lasting impression. It's not just about listing
achievements or personal details but weaving them together into a compelling narrative.
Additionally, the difficulty lies in the fine line between being confident and humble. Balancing
self-assurance with humility is crucial to avoid sounding arrogant or overly modest. Striking this
delicate equilibrium requires a nuanced understanding of how to present oneself effectively.
Moreover, the challenge is heightened by the need to capture the reader's attention from the
start. In a sea of similar essays, making yours stand out requires a creative and engaging
approach. Whether through a captivating anecdote, a unique perspective, or a memorable detail,
finding that hook is no easy task.
In conclusion, writing an essay introducing yourself is more challenging than it may initially
appear. It demands self-reflection, a keen sense of storytelling, a balance between confidence
and humility, and the ability to captivate your reader's attention. Success in navigating these
challenges can result in a compelling and memorable essay that effectively introduces you to your
audience.
On a related note, if you find yourself struggling with such tasks, you might consider seeking
assistance. Various resources, including professional writing services likeHelpWriting.net, offer
support in crafting essays and other written assignments, ensuring a polished and effective
presentation of your ideas.

Asparagus Berries Research Paper
Asparagus berries Title: What to Do with Asparagus Berries Meta description: Don
t eat asparagus berries they re poisonous! But there are a few other things you can
do with them. Find out what you can do with asparagus berries here. Both male
and female asparagus plants produce tiny, attractive flowers, however, it is
primarily the female plant which makes the small, red, berry like seed pods. These
seed pods are poisonous to humans and pets, but they look nice along with the fern
like foliage when growing in the garden or added to floral arrangements. Asparagus

Seeds inside these male produced pods are 75 percent more likely to produce male

productive garden vegetable cultivars. Toxicity of Asparagus Berries The seed pods
of asparagus plants are toxic for humans and also for dogs and cats, producing an
allergic reaction in some individuals. Eating the berries can cause vomiting and
abdominal pain. Raw asparagus shoots are also mildly toxic, although the toxicity is
quickly eliminated by cooking. Allergic response often includes a skin rash, and some
people develop contact dermatitis from touching the
Existentialism And Human Emotions By Jean Paul Sartre
Jean Paul Sartre s novel Existentialism and Human Emotions discusses his philosophy
that man is responsible for what he is and what he does; that man chooses his values
and makes himself. At the beginning of the book, Sartre defends existentialism
against several charges that had been laid against it. Throughout the book, Sartre
refers to the basis of existentialismusing the phrase existenceprecedes essence . With
this, phrase lies the basis for the argument that Existentialism is a Humanism. In this
essay, I shall attempt to explore and evaluate Sartre s argument that existentialism is a
humanism by unpacking what is meant by existence precedes essence . I will argue
that although the overall argument tends to be a good one, there are several points
which could have been improved upon. In order to understand how it is that
existentialism is a humanism, it is first necessary to understand what both of these
terms mean. Humanism is generally referred to as a philosophical and ethical stance
that emphasizes the value and agency of humanbeings, both individually and
collectively, placing a higher value on reason, scientific inquiry and human
fulfillment while often rejecting the importance of a belief in a higher power or deity.
Existentialism, according to Sartre, is a doctrine which makes human life possible
and, in addition, declares that every truth and every action implies a human setting
and subjectivity (Sartre, 10). Another way of putting it

Applying Learning from Course #1 to my work place
I have learned a lot of things in this class specially making effective power point
presentations and ways of giving attractive seminar. It helps me a lot when I gave
seminar at the client to explain why Oracle is better than SQL and BD2 and I
always remember the sentence which Dr. Abdulhaija said Your audience does not
need to and often does not want to listen to you but it s your responsibility to
convince them to listen to and remember your key points .
I got very good comments and they all appreciate my presentation, the way I
started and they way I conclude and the most important I did not took more than
the schedule time and I was well prepared with my message and my key words as
George Torok says in his book Know your message and identified your key words
that support that .[1]
In this presentation I only create 8 PPTs with lot of pictures and I tried not to put
more text in it, with 8 PPTs I speak for 45 minutes. I think that s the best thing I
Rational Choice Of Dramaturgy Theory
A couple weeks ago we had a meeting at our daughter s dance studio. It was a day
before dance recital and her teacher wanted to make sure that everyone is ready for
the big day, so the show will go smoothly. The teacher, students and parents were
present. Dance teacher went through the rules and requirements for dancers, such as
when they should come and get ready, when to go on stage and what to wear if
they decide to go to the audience after performance. In addition, she talked to
parents and explained several rules, such as no photography or video recording,
which way to go to dressing rooms, etc. Parents asked a few questions about hair
requirements and upcoming dress rehearsal. Status of danceteacher is formal and she

This interaction based on formal behaviors, however the relationship includes
informal roles outside the studio. This communication could be viewed from
dramaturgy perspective with teacher, students and parents as actors. Plus, it can be
observed through Rational Choice Theory lenses, when individuals are involved in
exchange of benefits. This interaction is important for a process of socialization for
everyone involved and illustrates an example of how members of society carry out
their roles in particular
What Is The Theme Of Sleep By Haruki Murarakami
Fighting the oppression of everyday society in Sleep by Haruki Murakami
Sleep is a short story by Haruki Murakami. It is part of the seventeen stories that
constitute his short story collection The Elephant Vanishes . The collection was
published in 1993; however, Sleep was published separately in The New Yorker
magazine in 1989. Sleep is the longest short story of the seventeen. The protagonist
and the narrator of the story is a woman who has not slept for seventeen days. She is
married, and she has a child with her husband. At first sight, her life seems
immaculate, but later the circumstances become more complicated. Murakami s
characters have numerous common characteristics, and the protagonist of Sleep is
not an exception ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning, she mentions that her sleeplessness started with a terrible
nightmare. She felt as if she was awake when she saw an old gray man, but she
could not move, and she could not even let out a scream. This nightmare is highly
important because this is the first time in the short story when the protagonist is not
able to do something, do be free. Again we can see a typical characteristic of
Murakami s protagonists. As Celeste Loughman states in her review on The Elephant
Vanishes, all of Murakami s characters are dissatisfied. Some rebel and quit their
jobs; more often they escape into dream, fantasy, and even death. They crave
mystery, the unknowable, the existence of an unfathomable power from another
dimension. Paradoxically, however, as if unwilling to confront the emptiness
within, they take refuge in ritual behavior and methodical attention to detail (434).
However, the protagonist of Sleep tries to break free from her ritual behavior.
Even though later she wakes up, this experience is still a defining moment in her
life because this is the first time when she starts to realize that her current life does
not satisfy her needs. Throughout the story, the protagonist is often amazed by her
body. She stands in front of the mirror fully naked. The picture of her naked body
can create a sense of freedom in the reader because when she is naked, her body is
in its natural state it is fully free. She also started to see her face prettier than before
her only part that she hated on herself, a shadowed area beneath her cheekbones,
disappeared. Her own consciousness started to grow again when she refused to have
sex with her husband. At this point, she only cared about reading Anna Karenina with
whom she could totally identify. She realized that her only drive was housework, and
her life was

The Book That Brought A Dream To Life Over the past centuries, texts have been
written about the most unrealistic creatures, from blood sucking vampires and man
eating werewolves up until today s modern superheroes. In many novels written, the
idea of flight has been explored before through creatures, like witches on broomsticks,
which date back to the 15th century. However, not all the books have spurred the
same type of hype as each other overtime. This paper will explore the stylistic
techniques, content, and themes that made James Patterson s Maximum Rideso

Persuasive Essay On Acne
Your skin is your friend, and you should love your skin no matter what color it is.
Your skin likes you. As a matter of fact, it protects you from the elements and
literally keeps you together. You, in turn, do your best to protect it from any kind
of damage. Then, one day, acne rears its ugly head, and you suddenly no longer
love your skin. What do you do then? Turn to harsh chemicals, and overpriced
scrubs? That s a great way to thank a friend who s been there for you since day one.
Your epidermis isn t at fault here since it can t help that your hormones are causing
all that extra sebum to clog up your pores, or the fact that bacteria is running rampant.
This is what causes pores to become blocked with bacteria, which causes
inflammationand redness.
If your skin could talk, what would it say? It would probably say something along
the lines of patience, grasshopper. Treat me right and I shall repay you in kind.
That s just a guess, anyways. The point is, natural acne remedies are a good way to
get rid of it, or at least hold it at bay. They make you step back and really figure out
what s going on with your skin, and how to work with it. Chances are, your skin
will repay you in kind for not simply ravaging it with strange chemicals and your
wallet will probably thank you too.
Aloe for Acne
Did you know that aloe vera gel can be used with other things? It is, however, still
good on its own. If it s going to be used on its own, the best is to have a little aloe
Comparing The Charecteristics Of A Perfect Vacation
Every year there are thousands of people who spend hours upon hours determining
where they should go on vacation. Everyone wants to find the perfect vacation place
where they catch up on rest and where they can have fun. Three of the most popular
vacation getaways are the beach, mountains, and a new city. The first vacation
destination is the beach. The beach is a very popular destination for many families
and couples. With the salty air and the sounds of the ocean waves crashing on the sand
can make for a very relaxing vacation. One of the most relaxing activities to do at
the beach is to go to the spa. Getting a deep tissue massage can help one forget
about the worries of life and have time to themselves. If one is not in the spa life
they can head to the ocean to enjoy some water time. If one is not into just laying
out on the beach they can go deep sea fishing, parasailing, or scuba diving are a
great way to explore the ocean in a different way. Also, a run on the beach can also
be very enjoyable for those who want to get their exercise in and enjoy the beach at
the same time. This vacation destination is perfect place for families and couples that

Even though going to a new city can be stressful, many find it relaxing in their own
way. No matter which city one decides to go to there will be many new experiences
that one can take part in. Within a new city, there are various cultural experiences
that one should take advantage of. There are museums, restaurants, and concerts
that one can enjoy while learning about the new city they are in. No matter if one
visits a small or large city there will always be places that are unique to that city. This
vacation is perfect for anyone who is ready for a different pace of
Synthetic Phonics Instruction Essay
Introduction Since the mid 1600 s, the efficacy of phonics instruction has been a
controversial and contentious topic in the field of education. Originating from the
creation of synthetic phonics (sound by sound approach) by Blaise Pascal in 1655,
educators began indoctrinating their pupils in the recognition of sound symbol
correspondences required to decode unfamiliar words (Rodgers, 2001). From that
time, the pendulum has swung from phonics first to phonics last. The debate has
continued from synthetic phonics to analytic phonics (utilizing a whole word
approach) as to what clinicians consider best practice for reading instruction.
Consequently, over the past 300 years, its teaching methods have fallen out of favor
with educators, only to return to the forefront as reading achievement has floundered.
The issue that confronts educators today is not the choice to incorporate phonics
instruction into their curriculum, but how.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Camilli, Vargas, Yurecko (2003) found that students in grades K 2 show greater early
reading success with the inclusion of rigorous, structured phonics lessons. Reading
proficiency in the early elementary grades continues to be critically important as it is
linked to achievement well into high school. Cunningham and Stanovich s landmark
study (1997), concluded that early literacy success is a future predictor of academic
achievement, which still holds true today. Sparks, Patton, Murdoch (2013) echoed
those findings as they detailed a productive correlation between strong early literacy
skills and academic growth through the tenth
Greek Women History
The history of women involvement in science
Science always fascinated people regardless young or old, male or female. From
the beginning of human development, hundreds of cultures tried their luck with new
inventions and scientific explanations. Every one of those developments was
founded on the drive to explain the surrounding world in an easy way and try to
understand every small part of it. Often it was just luck but sometimes it was the
hard work of years and months of calculation and experiments until they finally
found a new way. Looking back into history important discoveries were made in
almost every period of our history. Like the theory of a heliocentric star system, the
invention of the automobile or the discovery of the main laws ... Show more content

But also progress was made especially in societies like Sparta or Egypt. Pay all
possible attention even to the women (Lycurgus, 900 BC) described the view of
the Spartan society on women rights. Women were allowed to run, wrestle or do
javelin as a competitive sport also the attendance in the military service was
possible for women. In the aspect of women rights, Sparta was one of the most
progressive and free society. This progressive lifestyle brought up discussion and
disputes in the neighboring Greek empire. Greatest will be she who is least talked
of among men whether for good or bad (Solon) Women in Greek society were seen
as an appendage of men she had almost no rights and should not speak if she was
not asked. But also, progressive Greek voice made their way into history books.
Nobody else than the famous philosopher Socrates supported a different way for
more women involvement in society. He once said that women should take
responsibility in society and if so they should get the same handling and education as
their male brothers. This was not itself a new idea but in a society that was relying
on their male academic class and was based on tradition and continuity is was
revolutionary. But Greek was not the only society which saw women as a citizen
second class. The Hammarabi, which was the legal codex of the Mesopotamian
empire once stated a girl is a legal property of her father until she is sold to her
husband (Hammurabi, 1750BC). This process of selling the women to her husband
is still partially in use in parts if India and Africa. Women often got less medical
treatment and also less education in comparison to their brothers. This developed
over time to an under educated female society where the chances to escape were
extremely small. But like in every part of live their are exceptions, women like

Economic System And Economic Systems
For this essay I will be focusing in on the three different economic system, which are
known as centrally planned economy, mixed economy, and market economy. I will
also be explaining why internationalizing firms should be aware of the differences
between all three economic systems and what roles should the government be taking
in the free market systems. Before I begin defining the different economic systemsI
would like to first explain what an economic systemis. Every country differs in what
economic system is being used. An economic system is a system of producing
goods and the exchange of goods and services. An economic systems also includes
a process which is used to allocate its assets. Culture can have a big impact because
of a country s economy. Just as a country s economy state differs from country to
country so does its culture. Why does it have an effect on a country s culture we
ask? The difference between having an individualist or a collectivist culture is where
we see it. In an individualist culture we see more people being rewarded then we see
in a collectivist culture. Being rewarded with things such as low tax rates which
inspires them to continue with their activities of their culture.
As mentioned in Chapter 7 no nation is either considered to be fully individualist or
fully collectivist. National economies are arranged on a scale in which we see the
three different economic systems. The scale is setup in a way in which centrally
planned economy is
Principles And Tactics Of Negotiation
Being genuine and sincere in the communication with others is one of the most
important strategies available for resolving a conflict. As the article entitled
Principles and Tactics of Negotiation (2007) mentions, most of the basic principles of
negotiation were learned before kindergarten. Be polite. Be honest. Be considerate (p.
102). The same goes for all interactions involving a conflict. Collectively, both
sincerity and honesty are common expectations in nearly all forms of negotiation, but
is especially important in relationships of business. For example, the most people
wouldn t be interested in negotiating contracts that involves financial goals or money
if a negotiator has a poor reputation in doing business. Alternatively, if a negotiator
has a good reputation and the perceptionof them is sincere, their business is likely to
benefit from the influx of new client. A really good reference for this is the business
of veterinarian medicine.
Although every animal clinic relies on money to keep their doors open in order to
continue to treat animals in distress, veterinarians still have a responsibility to treat
pets with sincerity and compassion, in addition to providing appropriate medical
care. When a client brings their pet in for euthanasia, for instance, many veterinarians
and supporting staff demonstrate a cold demeanor since they do not want to show
express their emotions while at work. However, this behavior can be perceived as
uncaring or insincere,
Who Is King Daniel
[2]In the beautiful city of Babylon, there once lived a man named Daniel. [1]He
was an advisor to the king. Daniel was different from the other advisors. He
believed in the one true God. One day, two of the king s other advisors watched as
Daniel diligently prayed to God. [6]They hated Daniel. He was always praying to
God for guidance and he was always honest. He wanted to do the right thing. The
advisors despised him because of that. Then one day, as they watched Daniel pray,
they came up with an evil idea. They would write up a document that would say
that no one would be allowed to pray. [5]If they disobeyed this law they would be
thrown into the Lion s Den like a piece of meat. [3]Suddenly, one day after the king
had signed the document, they caught him defying the law and praying any way.
They rushed into his room and dragged him to the king s throne room. [4]Forcing

around him. He then began praying to God to keep him safe if it was His will.
God heard Daniel s prayers and sent an angel to close the snarling mouths of the
lions. [2]Throughout the night, none of the lions ever bothered him. Some of
them even wanted to cuddle. [3]Unceasingly, Daniel prayed all night. [5] As he sat
in the darkness untouched, he knew the advisors would come back in the morning
to see if he had been killed, which was what they wanted to happen. The next
morning Daniel saw streams of light peering thru the top of the entrance.
[4]Hearing a noise above him, Daniel looked up. The king, who had worried about
him all night, was prying the top off the cavern. Daniel, he shouted, are you alive?
Did the God you believe and trust in protect you? Daniel answered him and told him
that God had taken care of him and that he had sent an angel to close the mouths of
the lions. The king then sent for help so that they could pull Daniel out of the deep

Apple
Apple has on its side a history of market moving innovations and a loyal user base
that has steadily grown and is very likely to buy future products and offerings
(Laudon, 2017).
Apple has the basis of creating a very strong hardware base for the internet future and
thus logically they play their role in this battle by laying emphasis on the hardware
that facilitates mobile computing. Apple s greatest core competency is how to
implement elegant but functional design, strong branding, customer loyalty and
maintaining secrecy. The consumer benefit is getting a product that works
intuitively, while making everyone else envious. Other companies have been trying
to imitate what Apple does, but are not quite as successful and Apple has copied
that design success from computers, to music players, to cellphone and, to its store.
All Apple products control all the software and hardware that works with their
products. Apple decides who makes apps and software for their product blocking
developers to be more creative on their platform.

Does Deviance Always Exist
Deviance will always exist. There will always be a someone that does not agree
with the cause. If everyone agrees with eachother, then there will be no other
possibilities . Deviance is a violation of society norms. It could be behavior, ideas,
attributes, abnormal and something that violate rules. It could be literally anything,
from dyeing your hair bright pink to having more than just ear piercings. The ones
that get offended by the deviance are the ones that get to define deviance. They are
the ones the see the difference. The offended ones, are the ones that judge and say
what they think is wrong. Most of the stuff that we see now in 2017, would not be
normal fifty years ago. For example, same sex marriagehas always had diffulculty...

class wearing make up, doing their hair and wearing short skirts. Seeing them
reminded me of what I was taught. So I ended up doing both. I hated wearing
make up because it woud get in my eyes whenever I would run. I decided to only
do my make up, when I would go out but when I would play I would dress however
I wanted. As I grew older I started meeting people who liked the opposite sex, and I
thought to myself that it is okay to be different. That I will not stop being friends
with someone just because they like the opposite sex.
Money and occupation plays a big role in the authority and/or power to define
deviance. People are most influced by money and power. Usually it is from lack of
money or who they are in life that takes a toll on how people see them.
Definitions of deviance differ from culture to culture, group to group, and time
period to time period by the generations. Each generation changes with experiences
or by the people they meet. The experiences are very important because it could
change how they see what is right and
Reflection Paper For Teachers
During the month of November, I became our school s acting testing coordinator.
Our testing coordinator was in an accident and went out on medical leave. She was
suddenly out for an undetermined amount of time and with a severe concussion
was unable to remember what she completed and what she did not. During her
absence, there were two assessments and a survey that needed to me completed.
These assessments included SAT 10, FFT (Teacher Survey) and MAP R. This was
a very demanding experience. The first thing that needed to be completed was the
FFT Teacher Survey. This is important to all teachers on cycle using the
Framework for Teaching. The Survey is a vital component to a teachers overall
effectiveness. If left incomplete, the teacher receives a score of zero for that
portion. When I became the acting testing coordinator, only two weeks were left in
the window and no surveys were completed. Within two weeks, I needed to
complete 167 surveys for 7 teachers. Unfortunately, the teachers could not assist in
this endeavor. I tried to create a schedule were I was able to conduct all 167 surveys.
This was impossible if I was still going to meet with my intervention students.
Therefore, I rounded up a team of individuals that had opportunity and the willingness
to assist. This team consisted of the ESOL teacher and the Guidance Counselor. The
team and I then created a plan that incorporated the surveys into the Guidance
Counselor s schedule. While the ESOL
Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses
1. Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses
Nearly everything that you own, whether it is for investment purposes or personal
use, is a capital asset. Capital assets are stocks or bonds held for investment
purposes, land, machinery, etc. When an individual sells a capital asset, the
difference between the asset s purchase price and the amount that it is sold for, is
either a capital gain, which is in the case if the selling price exceeds the purchase
price, or a capital loss, where the purchase price exceeds the selling price.
When the value of the capital asset increases beyond the price that it was initially
purchased for, that is a capital gain. The gain is not realized immediately, because the
holder of the asset has not sold it. Once the individual sells the capital asset, at that
point, the individual must realize the gain and must claim it on income taxes. (http:/
/www.investopedia.com/terms/c/capitalgain.asp).
Capital gains and losses are categorized into two categories: long term and short
term. If the asset is held for one year or more before the disposition of the asset, the
capital gain or loss is considered a long term. If the asset is held for less than one
year prior to the disposition, the capital gain or loss is considered short term. (http:/
/www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc409.html).
2. How Capital Gains are taxed: Holding Period
The taxation of capital gains is treated differently depending on whether your
investment is considered long term or short term. The

Natural Gas and Its use as a Alternative Fuel Compared to...
Natural Gas and Its use as a Alternative Fuel Compared to Gasoline Have you ever
confused the terms Natural Gas and Gasoline ? Well don t, because they are two
very different types of gases. Natural gas and Gasoline are considered fossil fuels
to most scientists because it is believed they were formed from the remains of sea
animals and plants that died 200 400 million years ago. These sea animals were then
covered by layers of sediment and rock over time which caused them to become
buried deeper and deeper, until enormous amounts of pressure and heat turned them
into oil and gas. Raw natural gasis a mixture of different gasses and the main
ingredient is methane, a natural compound that is

They also set off small explosions or drop heavy (Preston, Benjamin I Feel Gassy

weights on the surface and record the sound waves as they bounce back from the
sedimentary rock layers underground. (www.NEED.org 2011). Scientists may also
measure the gravitational pull of rock masses deep within the earth, yet the most
widely used and effective way of finding
Natural gas is by drilling down through the layers of sedimentary rock to reach the
rock formations that contain oil and gas deposits. After natural gas comes out of the
ground, it goes to a processing plant where it is cleaned of impurities and separated
into its various components.
Now, the type of natural gas that goes into automobiles is called Liquefied Natural
Gas, or
LNG. The process for making LNG starts the same way as producing natural gas,
except the natural gas is cooled to 260 degrees Fahrenheit. By doing this, the natural
gas changes into
LNG and its volume is reduced 600 times. Another exceptional way Natural gas is
found is by 3
D and 4 D seismic imaging. This technique uses powerful technology from computers
to help determine accuracy in whereas to drill. Another technique used to find natural

Hydraulic fracturing. . This involves the injection of more than a million gallons of

Red Tide Research Paper
Red tide or Karenia brevis, is a single celled eukaryotic organism that appears in a
bloom off the west coast of Florida. These dinoflagellates produce a toxin known as
brevetoxins, which at high concentrations can cause severe harm to marine and
human life. Human activity is thought to be bringing about a higher frequency and
concentration of the algaeblooms by nutrient run off and from ships traveling
through the tide. The algae is very fragile so when it is disturbed by crashing
waves or by the hull of boats is causes the brevetoxins to become an aerosol. This is
when it presents a problem to humans because the brevetoxins can cause respiratory
infections. (Kirpatrick et al 2004; Fleming et al 2005).

Thats what a study by (Wu et al 2013) have done with some success. In this study
they tested on the algae s Chattonella marina, Heterosigma akashiwo and
Cochlodinium polykrikoides. Even though these are not the algae s that are
causing havoc off of Florida s coast, it is still a potentially useful treatment that
could be tested on K. brevis in the future. They have found that Thiazolidione(TD)
derivatives have an algicidal effect on the harmful algae bloom. TD is used to treat
type two Diabetes. TD binds to and activates peroxisome proliferator activated
receptors(PPARs), whose activation reduces insulin resistance. The PPARs bound
by TD s activate transcription of several genes related to lipid and glucose
metabolism(Wu et al 2013). One of the TD derivatives TD118 caused the cell
membrane to break and the cytosol to burst forty eight hours after treatment. TD118
also reduced the photosynthetic efficiency of the algae tested. Another method used
to control these harmful algal blooms is to simply throw clay on top of the algal
blooms. With hopes that the inert clay will induce sedimentaion of the harmful algae.
The use of the clay has shown to be efficient in removing K. brevis from the water
column. The main use of this clay is to move the bevetoxin away from the oysters
and clams that filter the water and accumulate the toxin in there system making them
unsafe for humans to

The Gospel, A Son Of God And A Riddle Essay
I do not agree with Jonathan Z. Smith s definition, particularly I do not like the
word a riddle. The words Gospel, a son of God and a riddle in his definition outstand
to me, and I think these words are the key of his definition. Thus, it is important to
understand what these words meaning is.
What is Gospel? The people usually think the Fourth Gospel that Matthew, Mark,
Luke and John, and it is all about Jesus. In the ancient Hellenistic time, the Gospels
were regarded as biographies of Jesus (Boring, 508). If Jonathan Z. Smith
represents a son of God as Jesus in his definition, I do not think the Gospel is only
the story of Jesus, a son of God. While Jesus appears in every scene of Gospel,
Jesus himself is not the main object of the Gospel. But I acknowledge that Jesus is
the important character in the Gospel because God reveals himself through Jesus,
and Jesus reveals himself as the Christ (Boring, 509). Boring said that the structure
of the Gospel is not talking about Jesus s life, but it is who Jesus is in the plan of
God (Boring, 510). Dr. Smith s definition seems like only focusing on Jesus as a son
of God. However, I would like to emphasize God and God s work through Jesus the
Christ in the Gospel rather than Jesus as a son of God. If only focusing on Jesus,
we can easily miss God s works in the believer s life and the community in the
Gospel. And also, it is easy to think Jesus as only human being. I believe that Jesus, a
son of God, cannot be explained

The Risk and Benefits of Outsourcing Supply Chain and Risk Management.
How Boeing 787 Supply Chain Issues Affected Other Industries?
Debates between business professionals regarding risk and benefits of outsourcing is
becoming increasingly heated with particular focus on risks as unanticipated costs,
potential for setbacks, integration difficulties, quality or benefits as minimize overall
cost, focus on other business area, meet customer demand and flexibility. However,
being prepared, done the research properly, hire the right company can bring plenty of
benefits to an organization looking to outsource different aspects of their business.
Rudzki, Smock, Katzorke, and Stewart (2005, pg.8) cover the significant importance
of outsourcing as part of supply chain management and acknowledge the enormous
role on raising customer satisfaction, driving higher profit margins, and fueling
growth otherwise known as increasing company profitability. To understand how the
risks and benefits of outsourcing could affect the company profitability, extended
supply chain and how cost becomes value needs to be study. This paper will examine

Speech About Chef
A chef is a highly trained and skilled professional cook who is proficient in all
aspects of food preparation of a particular cuisine. The word chef is derived (from
shortened) from the term chef de cuisine (French pronunciation: [КѓЙ›f.dЙ™

from an institution, as well as through apprenticeship with an experienced chef.
There are different terms that use the word chef in their titles, and deal with
specific areas of food preparation, such as the Sous chef, who acts as the second in
command in a kitchen, or the Chef de partie, who handles A of the specific area of
production. The Brigade system is a system of hierarchy found in restaurants and
groups visiting extensive staff, many of which which use the word chef in their titles.

Analysis Of The Funerary Stele Of Amenemhat I
The title of this artwork is the Funerary Stele of Amenemhat I and was created by
an unknown Egyptian artist from the 11th dynasty. This artwork was completed
around 2000 B.C. The size of this artwork is 11 x 15 and it is located in the
Brooklyn Museum of Art. The medium of Funerary Stele of Amenemhat I is
limestone. In the artwork, the concept of contour lines is used to draw the objects
such as the table and Egyptians. The lines are black and thin, somewhat showing
definition to the art piece. The majority of the colorscheme in the positive includes
neutral colors. Warm tones with tan to dark brownshades are incorporated into the
skin tones of the Egyptians. The color greenis also used in the artwork which
complements the color... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The element of art being most emphasized is color. There is a contrast in the
artwork in the negative, The wall has cool and high key tones which contrast with
the Egyptians and food that has warm and neutral colors. Although the artwork is
not symmetrical, the light green color shown in the small details such as the
carvings on the wall, necklaces, and food contribute a balance of colors within the
artwork. In the artwork, there is a variation of curved lines and shapes that also
bring the piece together. For examples, the lines are curvacious on the elbows,
shoulders, and necklaces of the Egyptians and the objects around them. There are
rhythm and pattern shown through the lines and shapes because most of the art
piece has a bulbous form like the rounding of the shoulders or the circular shape of
the heads. The art piece also seems to be scratchy because of the chips in the stone
and the edges of the stone have faded limestone. The two men sitting and facing each
other have a contrast of color to the rest of the art piece making them emerge into a
more noticeable figure than the rest.
The title Funerary Stele of Amenemhat I is from the Middle Kingdom. Funerary is a
magical offering formula to provide deceased ones with necessary offerings in the
afterlife. Stela is a slab of stone, wood or any other material that bear an inscription
and Amenemhat means Amun is the foremost. Amenemhat is a high
Aquinas Weaknesses
In Core Questions in Philosophy, Sober describes the first two ways of Aquinas for
the existence of God as a division of causation. In this paper, I will examine the first
two arguments of Aquinas, while each has its weakness, the weaknesses outweigh the
strengths. The first argument comes with the weakness of not being able to survive
modern physics. Whereas, the second argument delivers the weakness of the
conclusion not following the proposition. Combined, I believe that both arguments
do not exhibit strengths in their form and verification. Despite both arguments, not
having strengths, they both showcase a combined weakness of the birthday fallacy.
Overall, both arguments have valid and strong weaknesses, but no strengths amongst
them.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Aquinas s method does not realize that there is exactly one event/motion that sets all
chains in the natural world, he rather shows that there is at least one event/motion.
Both arguments share a common weakness of not showing there is exactly one first
cause, but it rather shows that there is at least one. If we were to show that there is
exactly one first cause, this would cause the birthday fallacy which is invalid.
Additionally, I would like to say that there are no strengths exhibiting the first two
arguments of Aquinas. Perhaps, I say this as there are many flaws within both
arguments and the strengths were quite unnoticeable to me, but each line in the
argument has flaws, which to me, concluded that there are no
Death And Its Effects On The Reality Of Death
They were afraid of dying but there were even more afraid to show it. They found
jokes to tell. They used a hard vocabulary to contain the terrible softness. Greased
they d say. Offed, lit up, zapped while zipping. It wasn t cruelty, just stage presence.
They were actors. When someone died, it wasn t quite dying, because in a curious
way, it seemed scripted, and because they had their lines mostly memorized, irony
mixed with tragedy, and because they called it by other names, as if to encyst and
destroy the reality of deathitself. pg. 19 To someone just picking up this book, this

One character is obviously the comic relief, another the beloved hero. The rest,
valiant men fighting for their country, their lives, their freedom. The scene ends
and the curtain rises, all of the pseudo soldiers take a bow and go home to their
normal lives, far from the hands of death that grasp at the men forgotten in
Vietnam, the real soldiers. They, who saw the hardships of war as more than just a
script, beyond the glamorized versions that are seen by the American eyes. They
saw the death and the tragedy, slowly becoming worn down into less of a human and
more of a desensitized killing machine because that s what war does. It permanently
scars the soldiers, tearing away the feeling of loss and inappropriately replacing it
with comedy, showing that war is destructive, stealing away an ounce of humanity
with each bullet. As seen in The Things They Carried, written by Tim O Brien, the
Vietnam War destroyed the minds of soldiers, causing them to lose their human
emotions in an unglamorous setting, devaluing death as they lose their ability to
appropriately handle situations. Center stage stands a man, young and valiant,
seemingly fearless. Well, until a bullet collides with his brain and he loses his
identity as Ted Lavender and adapts his new one as another tally of the total number
of men killed in action. But he is not actually killed. No, he is greased they d say.

Scott Parker can utilize Adam s equity theory to persuade Mrs. Abravanel to
support the merger. The equity theory in essence is when individuals seek to
maintain equity based on the inputs they produce and the outcomes they receive
from their inputs as compared to others perceived inputs and outcomes. A balance
between inputs and outputs is strived for because it leads to fairness and improved
relations. Mrs. Abravanel s opposition to the merger could be because of a
perceived unfairness based on the efforts her husband put into to bringing the Utah
Symphony up to world class stature. Mrs. Abravanel sees the symphony as the
dominant party in the merger. This is apparent by Mrs. Abravanel s statement,
Maurice would never take second billing to anyone (Delong amp; Ager, 2005).
Parker must show Mrs. Abravanel that the merger will help alleviate some of the
financial stress the symphony is facing and increase the success and visibility of
both organizations. In order to convince Mrs. Abravanel to support the merger,
Parker needs to explain the rationale behind the merger as well as understand why
Mrs. Abravanel sees the merger as unfair and inequitable. In order to sway Mrs.
Abravanel to support the merger, Parker can offer Mrs. Abravanel a seat to
participate in the merger discussions. Mrs. Abravanel s perceived unfairness would
be assuaged by giving her a voice in the discussions (input) and a say in the outcomes
John Macarthur s The Myth Of Creationism
Introduction John Macarthur is a best selling author and pastor of Grace Community
Church in Sun Valley, California. He is the current president of The Master s
College and Seminary. He also has a national syndicated radio program Grace to You.
I believe the author s intention was to debunk the myth of evolution. John MacArthur
addresses creation from a Biblical standpoint. The book targets a primarily a
Christian audience and makes a strong case for a literal six day creation. This is not a
book that fundamentally concentrates on persuading unbelieving evolutionists of
creationism, yet rather it focuses on convincing Christians who trust that in some type
of advancement, (for example, old earth creationism or the Gap Theory) that the
primary perusing of Genesis one and two is a strict perusing. MacArthur constructs a
significant part of the book with respect to the view that Evolution is itself a religion
that is entirely contradicted to Christianity. Creationism and Evolution, along these
lines, can never be blended. We should have faith in it is possible that either.
Subsequent to giving numerous reasons why Evolutionism is contradictory to God
and His outline, the book spends a section on each of the days of creation. In every
part, the creator demonstrates why something besides an exacting six day creation is
outlandish. In this manner, he gives important cases of the miracles and wonders of
creation. A large part of the book is centered around disproving

Mary Surratt Get A More Harsh Punishment
There is a lot of controversy over whether Mary Surratt should have been murdered,
but I believe that Mary Surratt should have received a less harsh punishment and
shouldn t have been killed; there is a lot of huge points that prove that Mary Surratt
was not guilty the whole time. The first colossal point is that Mary Surratt didn t
know that they were going to kill the president. For instance, in source 2, it states,
Mary knew of the kidnapping plot but not the plan to kill Lincoln. This evidence
shows that Mary Surratt had no clue about the kidnapping plot. This indicates that
she had given them the guns with no idea on what their purpose was. Also, in the
same source (Source 2), it mentions, When questioned if she knew of Booth s plan,

In sources 1 2, Mary Surratt said, Don t let me fall. to the attending soldier before
she was terminated. This reveals that she had always tried to be innocent even
before her doom. Another proof is that other people were saying that she was
innocent (Source 2). This provides evidence that she is not guilty because she was
supported by other people including Henry Kyd Douglas. Some people may think
that since Mary Surratt supplied the guns that she is guilty. Nevertheless, she is still
not at fault here because she didn t know the gun s purpose. For example, it states
that Mary Surratt didn t know about the assassination (Source 1 and 2). This brings
me back to my first point about the gun s usage. Also, in source 2, it states, When

Sympath and Bury me in a Free Land
Sympathy by Paul Dunbar and Bury me in a Free Land by Frances Watkins Harper
are two African American poems that differ in tone and style. Both of these poems
however, despite their differences, address prominent historical aspect of African
American slavery and present the misery of Black men living in America during
that era. These poems, through numerous rhetoric devices, present the struggle of
African Americans facing the clash between bondage and freedom. Dunbar
utilizes the analogy of caged bird in his poem Sympathy to expose the emotions
and struggles of enslaved African Americans to achieve freedom. He begins his
poem by describing the free bird singing when sun is bright and first bud opens to
portray the beauty of landscape. However, the beauty turns into sadness when the
poet states I know what the caged bird feels, alas which depicts a tone of sadness.
This contrast between a free bird and caged bird initiates the losses of caged bird.
It cannot go out and experience the freedom under the open sky. It struggles with
physical constrain till its blood is red on the cruel bars helps visualize the intensity
of struggle the bird is experiencing to gain his freedom to go where he desires, and
to be with those who give him happiness. This struggle is similar of African
American who tried to rebel in hopes of gaining their freedoms, but all resulted in
vain. Their wounds, just like the caged bird, are old, old scars emphasizes that

Hegemonic Masculinity
Hegemonic masculinity is a social construction which suggests to society that men
must be stronger than the feminine of the species in every way. By definition,
hegemonic masculinity is the dominance of men over women, where men must
sustain this dominance in any way. Defining what the hegemonic masculine ideal is
in Canada is difficult as we are a very young, multicultural country, so the notion of
the ideal manis a warped characterization of the ideal American male. This paper
seeks to prove that hegemonic masculinityis a social construction which is detrimental
to society. The negative effects of hegemonic masculinity on men include; male
violence, misogyny, and homophobia which are inextricably linked to how we define
manhood as a culture.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Giving up the idea of boy will be boys, especially in the case of violence is key to
resolving some of the issues. That is, when two boys are hitting each other this is
a violent act, and they should be taught that it is not the answer. As well,
associating boys with words such as power, dominance, aggression and guns,
should be changed because it will have boys feel as though they have to be a
certain way to be a real man and that includes aggressive behaviours. Another
solution to ending violence in masculinity would be to stop comparing it to
femininity. As the narrator in Tough Guise 2 reiterated, if a man gives the
appearance of being kind and gentle he should not be referred to as a pussy or a fag
; this type of behaviour not only instills homophobia but also proves more than
anything that kindness is should be seen as a womanly
The Pros And Cons Of Cognitive Linguistics
Cognitive Linguistics is a new approach to the study of language which views
linguistic knowledge as part of general cognition and thinking. It emerged through the
work of George Lakoff and Ronald Langacker and considers that linguistic behavior
is not separated from other general cognitive abilities which allow mental processes
of reasoning or memory but understood as an integral part of it. According to Lakoff
and Johnson, there is a conceptual potential that enables the transferring of the
knowledge and experience human beings have of the things and events that they
know well, to those other objects and events with which they may not be so familiar
with, and even to abstract concepts. (Johnson)One of the main theoretical principles
of cognitive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are certain approaches that focus on the text, like the formalist and structuralist
ones, others focus on the writer like the biographical or psychological ones. Each of
these approaches has their own positive and negative aspects. A cognitive linguistic
approach to literature reconciles both the above mentioned theories and takes into
consideration a third aspect: the reader. Literary experience becomes thus the result
of the conceptualization of all the conceptual aspects of human experience and
behavior. A cognitive approach to literature rests on three key principles from
cognitive science: the notion that meaning is embodied, the notion that categorization
is a feature of prototype effects, so that categories are also socio culturally grounded
in embodiment, and the notion that language and its manifestations in interpretation
is a natural human trait. (Stockwell) Recent work in cognitive linguistics explores the
analogical processes by which the human brain makes sense of its world. So the way
authors think is the way we think. Claiborne Rice states that textual production and
reception necessarily rely on identical, or even similar, integration networks (Rice)
Joseph Grady asserts that speakers and hearers share the same cognitive network
structures. (Grady) According to Fauconnier and Turner, the same structures are at
work in both production and reception. (Fauconnier) Under these views we
understand that the human mind thinks analogically. The components of analogy
include cognitive mapping skills that create levels of identification between across
different domains and mental spaces. In order to understand what literary critics do
when analyzing a literary text, we need to identify the kinds of cognitive mappings

Children begin from an early point to understand that comprehension is the point of
reading. Comprehension is the intentional thinking process that occurs as we read.
Readers should be purposeful and active. They should use a wide variety of strategies,
often simultaneously, to create meaning from text. As mentioned, comprehension
strategies and explicit comprehension instruction are often omitted from reading
instruction. When students are taught a set of comprehension skills, they will be able
to become better independent readers. For students whose home language is Spanish,
small group instruction in their home language and Academic English will allow
them to transfer their comprehension skills so they can find the meaning of their
reading. The first aim of this study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of purposeful
reading comprehension instruction. The second aim of this study is to use the
comprehension strategies during English instruction and Spanish instruction so
students will be able to independently apply those meta cognition skills that will
result in improved reading comprehension
A Beautiful Young Woman Steps Down From The Horse
Drawn...
A beautiful young woman steps down from the horse drawn carriage, one foot
touching down onto the rough ground outside her second home. As she looks
around, she cannot help soaking in all the wonderful scenery surrounding her. The
fabulously large trees too tall to climb perfectly blanketing the hillside in the
distance. The sky clear, blue and bright with a few lingering perfectly formed
cotton clouds. The trees just starting to turn from their deep green to shades of
orange, yellow and brown. The grazing grass that surrounds still the brightest shade
of green imaginable. There are many at this entrance of the castle, standing tall and
at attention to welcome this young woman home. She feels as though she has been
absent for too long. Everyone looks so different, and she feels they must think the
same of her. She was just a young lady of thirteen when she was sent away in
hiding, but now she is seventeen and has matured into a young woman. She moves
slowly taking her first few steps, and approaches the handsome young man in front of
her. Their eyes connect with one another, and the connection is not to be broken
despite every distraction surrounding the two. They are both remembering their
younger days. The days of a boy meeting a girl. The days of holding hands as they
ran up and down these grounds just for play. The days of so much laughter, games,
and unconditional affection. Oh how they had missed each other s company, and
both feel the calm on their
Descriptive Essay On The Mall
I pranced myself across the parking lot off the mall with a grin on my face because
my parents were taking me to the local mall. I walked into the mall jubilant and
ecstatic because the Polaris Mall had a mini playground for kids and they had this
climbing wall which I completely adored. I could have never foretold the events
which took place next. The moment I walked in, I felt a fresh blast of air
conditioner air on my face. I looked around, taking in the ambiance of the mall. The
Starbucks to the right of me, the Nike store to the left of me. But I quickly forgot
about these trivial matters and I sprinted to the playgroundand immediately leaped to
the top of the slide. I slid down the slide, swung on the swings and saved the best
for last, the climbing wall. After I finished all of the other playground equipment, I
bounded over the playground with wide strides with a wide grin on my face at the
climbing wall. There was a couple of kids at the bottom of the climbing wall, I didn
t pay too much attention to them. There were also kids just like me climbing the
wall with skill and dexterity. I was determined to ascend the top of the climbing wall
before them.
I scaled the wall faster than I have ever thought possible. In doing so, I was
reckless, my feet placed themselves where I thought was a climbing rock. My other
foot immediately relocated itself and I lurched to the right and my feet displaced
themselves. I found myself no longer on the climbing wall but in mid air
British Colonization Of India Essay
Historical Context and Background
British involvement on the Indian subcontinent began early in the 17th Century
through the British East India Company and its business ventures and dealings. The
early British Empire was composed of several self governing colonies which had
been settled in by British civilians, and colonial policy was one of salutary neglect
(Brown 2010). It is not unfair to say that Britain s relationship with India was one of
political subordination, but economic exploitation formed the core of this
relationship. The colonisation of India by the British Empire was clearly geared to
benefit the mother country, even at the cost of the colony (Modern India 2010).
Colonial exploitation was carried out through three distinct phases over time. The
first phase of mercantilism, which took place between 1757 and 1813, was one of
direct plunder in which surplus Indian revenues were used to buy Indian finished
goods to be exported back to Britain (Modern India 2010). In the second phase,
from 1813 to 1858, India was converted into a source of raw material and a market
for British goods. The third and final phase from 1858 onwards, was one of finance
imperialism in which British capital began to control Indian banks, foreign trading
firms and managing agencies in India. This phased exploitation was carried out
through a range of economic policies, primarily in the industrial and agricultural
sectors of the colonial economy of India (Modern History 2010).

Introducing Yourself Essay

  • 1. Introducing Yourself Essay Crafting an essay about introducing yourself may seem like a straightforward task, but the difficulty lies in striking the right balance between providing relevant information and maintaining a captivating narrative. The challenge is to present yourself in a unique and engaging way without coming across as too boastful or mundane. To begin with, self-reflection becomes a crucial aspect of the writing process. Choosing which aspects of your identity, experiences, and personality to highlight requires careful consideration. Finding the right tone is another hurdle—too formal, and you risk sounding distant; too informal, and you may appear unprofessional. Furthermore, the challenge extends to organizing your thoughts coherently. A well-structured essay must have a compelling introduction, a body that seamlessly transitions between different aspects of your life, and a conclusion that leaves a lasting impression. It's not just about listing achievements or personal details but weaving them together into a compelling narrative. Additionally, the difficulty lies in the fine line between being confident and humble. Balancing self-assurance with humility is crucial to avoid sounding arrogant or overly modest. Striking this delicate equilibrium requires a nuanced understanding of how to present oneself effectively. Moreover, the challenge is heightened by the need to capture the reader's attention from the start. In a sea of similar essays, making yours stand out requires a creative and engaging approach. Whether through a captivating anecdote, a unique perspective, or a memorable detail, finding that hook is no easy task. In conclusion, writing an essay introducing yourself is more challenging than it may initially appear. It demands self-reflection, a keen sense of storytelling, a balance between confidence and humility, and the ability to captivate your reader's attention. Success in navigating these challenges can result in a compelling and memorable essay that effectively introduces you to your audience. On a related note, if you find yourself struggling with such tasks, you might consider seeking assistance. Various resources, including professional writing services likeHelpWriting.net, offer support in crafting essays and other written assignments, ensuring a polished and effective presentation of your ideas. But there are a few other things you can do with them. Find out what you can do with asparagus berries here. Both male and female asparagus plants produce tiny, attractive flowers, however, it is primarily the female plant which makes the small, red, berry like seed pods. These seed pods are poisonous to humans and pets, but they look nice along with the fern like foliage when growing in the garden or added to floral arrangements. Asparagus Seed Pods Look Like Berries The bright red berries growing on female, and occasionally male, asparagus plants are actually tiny seed pods. Seed pods develop from [link u=asparagus flower]flowers[/link], appearing first as tiny, green clusters, and then develop into attractive, cherry red pods.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Seeds inside these male produced pods are 75 percent more likely to produce male offspring, including super male plants which result in all male hybrids, the most productive garden vegetable cultivars. Toxicity of Asparagus Berries The seed pods of asparagus plants are toxic for humans and also for dogs and cats, producing an allergic reaction in some individuals. Eating the berries can cause vomiting and abdominal pain. Raw asparagus shoots are also mildly toxic, although the toxicity is quickly eliminated by cooking. • 3. Existentialism And Human Emotions By Jean Paul Sartre Jean Paul Sartre s novel Existentialism and Human Emotions discusses his philosophy that man is responsible for what he is and what he does; that man chooses his values and makes himself. At the beginning of the book, Sartre defends existentialism against several charges that had been laid against it. Throughout the book, Sartre refers to the basis of existentialismusing the phrase existenceprecedes essence . With this, phrase lies the basis for the argument that Existentialism is a Humanism. In this essay, I shall attempt to explore and evaluate Sartre s argument that existentialism is a humanism by unpacking what is meant by existence precedes essence . I will argue that although the overall argument tends to be a good one, there are several points which could have been improved upon. In order to understand how it is that existentialism is a humanism, it is first necessary to understand what both of these terms mean. Humanism is generally referred to as a philosophical and ethical stance that emphasizes the value and agency of humanbeings, both individually and collectively, placing a higher value on reason, scientific inquiry and human fulfillment while often rejecting the importance of a belief in a higher power or deity. Existentialism, according to Sartre, is a doctrine which makes human life possible and, in addition, declares that every truth and every action implies a human setting and subjectivity (Sartre, 10). Another way of putting it

Applying Learning from Course #1 to my work place I have learned a lot of things in this class specially making effective power point presentations and ways of giving attractive seminar. It helps me a lot when I gave seminar at the client to explain why Oracle is better than SQL and BD2 and I always remember the sentence which Dr. Abdulhaija said Your audience does not need to and often does not want to listen to you but it s your responsibility to convince them to listen to and remember your key points . I got very good comments and they all appreciate my presentation, the way I started and they way I conclude and the most important I did not took more than the schedule time and I was well prepared with my message and my key words as George Torok says in his book Know your message and identified your key words that support that .[1] In this presentation I only create 8 PPTs with lot of pictures and I tried not to put more text in it, with 8 PPTs I speak for 45 minutes. It was a day before dance recital and her teacher wanted to make sure that everyone is ready for the big day, so the show will go smoothly. The teacher, students and parents were present. Dance teacher went through the rules and requirements for dancers, such as when they should come and get ready, when to go on stage and what to wear if they decide to go to the audience after performance. • 6. What Is The Theme Of Sleep By Haruki Murarakami Fighting the oppression of everyday society in Sleep by Haruki Murakami Sleep is a short story by Haruki Murakami. It is part of the seventeen stories that constitute his short story collection The Elephant Vanishes . The collection was published in 1993; however, Sleep was published separately in The New Yorker magazine in 1989. Sleep is the longest short story of the seventeen. The protagonist and the narrator of the story is a woman who has not slept for seventeen days. She is married, and she has a child with her husband. At first sight, her life seems immaculate, but later the circumstances become more complicated. Murakami s characters have numerous common characteristics, and the protagonist of Sleep is not an exception ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the beginning, she mentions that her sleeplessness started with a terrible nightmare. She felt as if she was awake when she saw an old gray man, but she could not move, and she could not even let out a scream. This nightmare is highly important because this is the first time in the short story when the protagonist is not able to do something, do be free. Again we can see a typical characteristic of Murakami s protagonists. As Celeste Loughman states in her review on The Elephant Vanishes, all of Murakami s characters are dissatisfied. Some rebel and quit their jobs; more often they escape into dream, fantasy, and even death. They crave mystery, the unknowable, the existence of an unfathomable power from another dimension. Paradoxically, however, as if unwilling to confront the emptiness within, they take refuge in ritual behavior and methodical attention to detail (434). However, the protagonist of Sleep tries to break free from her ritual behavior. Even though later she wakes up, this experience is still a defining moment in her life because this is the first time when she starts to realize that her current life does not satisfy her needs. Throughout the story, the protagonist is often amazed by her body. She stands in front of the mirror fully naked. The picture of her naked body can create a sense of freedom in the reader because when she is naked, her body is in its natural state it is fully free. She also started to see her face prettier than before her only part that she hated on herself, a shadowed area beneath her cheekbones, disappeared. Her own consciousness started to grow again when she refused to have sex with her husband. At this point, she only cared about reading Anna Karenina with whom she could totally identify. She realized that her only drive was housework, and her life was
  • 7. James Patterson The Book That Brought A Dream To Life Over the past centuries, texts have been written about the most unrealistic creatures, from blood sucking vampires and man eating werewolves up until today s modern superheroes. In many novels written, the idea of flight has been explored before through creatures, like witches on broomsticks, which date back to the 15th century. However, not all the books have spurred the same type of hype as each other overtime. This paper will explore the stylistic techniques, content, and themes that made James Patterson s Maximum Rideso popular to the wide age range from pre teens to adults. Writers and journalists like Mahler and, later, Haskins and Roberts explore the aspects that attract the preteen/teenage group ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Bold Books for Teenagers: Summer Reading , Gallo explains that action packed stories filled with adventure attract teenage students and allow them to actively participate in these adventures by reading. The creepy scenes of the lab and mutant children in cages with their organs out and the morphing of Erasers and violent fights were all disturbing yet attract both male and female audience: the males get excited by them while the girls sympathetic. In James Patterson s Maximum Ride series, the suspense and nonstop action, as well as Max s smart mouth and witty narration keep teens (especially boys) reading. The way the characters are well detailed makes them never predictable and straightforward with their plans which keeps the readers on their
  • 8. Persuasive Essay On Acne Your skin is your friend, and you should love your skin no matter what color it is. Your skin likes you. As a matter of fact, it protects you from the elements and literally keeps you together. You, in turn, do your best to protect it from any kind of damage. Then, one day, acne rears its ugly head, and you suddenly no longer love your skin. What do you do then? Turn to harsh chemicals, and overpriced scrubs? That s a great way to thank a friend who s been there for you since day one. Your epidermis isn t at fault here since it can t help that your hormones are causing all that extra sebum to clog up your pores, or the fact that bacteria is running rampant. This is what causes pores to become blocked with bacteria, which causes inflammationand redness. If your skin could talk, what would it say? It would probably say something along the lines of patience, grasshopper. Treat me right and I shall repay you in kind. That s just a guess, anyways. The point is, natural acne remedies are a good way to get rid of it, or at least hold it at bay. They make you step back and really figure out what s going on with your skin, and how to work with it. Chances are, your skin will repay you in kind for not simply ravaging it with strange chemicals and your wallet will probably thank you too. Aloe for Acne Did you know that aloe vera gel can be used with other things? It is, however, still good on its own. If it s going to be used on its own, the best is to have a little aloe

  • 10. Synthetic Phonics Instruction Essay Introduction Since the mid 1600 s, the efficacy of phonics instruction has been a controversial and contentious topic in the field of education. Originating from the creation of synthetic phonics (sound by sound approach) by Blaise Pascal in 1655, educators began indoctrinating their pupils in the recognition of sound symbol correspondences required to decode unfamiliar words (Rodgers, 2001). From that time, the pendulum has swung from phonics first to phonics last. The debate has continued from synthetic phonics to analytic phonics (utilizing a whole word approach) as to what clinicians consider best practice for reading instruction. Consequently, over the past 300 years, its teaching methods have fallen out of favor with educators, only to return to the forefront as reading achievement has floundered. The issue that confronts educators today is not the choice to incorporate phonics instruction into their curriculum, but how.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Camilli, Vargas, Yurecko (2003) found that students in grades K 2 show greater early reading success with the inclusion of rigorous, structured phonics lessons. Cunningham and Stanovich s landmark study (1997), concluded that early literacy success is a future predictor of academic achievement, which still holds true today. Sparks, Patton, Murdoch (2013) echoed those findings as they detailed a productive correlation between strong early literacy skills and academic growth through the tenth

From the beginning of human development, hundreds of cultures tried their luck with new inventions and scientific explanations. Every one of those developments was founded on the drive to explain the surrounding world in an easy way and try to understand every small part of it. Often it was just luck but sometimes it was the hard work of years and months of calculation and experiments until they finally found a new way. In the aspect of women rights, Sparta was one of the most progressive and free society. This progressive lifestyle brought up discussion and disputes in the neighboring Greek empire. Greatest will be she who is least talked of among men whether for good or bad (Solon) Women in Greek society were seen as an appendage of men she had almost no rights and should not speak if she was not asked. But also, progressive Greek voice made their way into history books. Nobody else than the famous philosopher Socrates supported a different way for more women involvement in society. He once said that women should take responsibility in society and if so they should get the same handling and education as their male brothers. This was not itself a new idea but in a society that was relying on their male academic class and was based on tradition and continuity is was revolutionary. But Greek was not the only society which saw women as a citizen second class. The Hammarabi, which was the legal codex of the Mesopotamian empire once stated a girl is a legal property of her father until she is sold to her husband (Hammurabi, 1750BC). This process of selling the women to her husband is still partially in use in parts if India and Africa. Women often got less medical treatment and also less education in comparison to their brothers. This developed over time to an under educated female society where the chances to escape were extremely small. But like in every part of live their are exceptions, women like Hypatia(415AD)
  • 12. Economic System And Economic Systems For this essay I will be focusing in on the three different economic system, which are known as centrally planned economy, mixed economy, and market economy. I will also be explaining why internationalizing firms should be aware of the differences between all three economic systems and what roles should the government be taking in the free market systems. Before I begin defining the different economic systemsI would like to first explain what an economic systemis. Every country differs in what economic system is being used. An economic system is a system of producing goods and the exchange of goods and services. An economic systems also includes a process which is used to allocate its assets. Culture can have a big impact because of a country s economy. Just as a country s economy state differs from country to country so does its culture. Why does it have an effect on a country s culture we ask? The difference between having an individualist or a collectivist culture is where we see it. In an individualist culture we see more people being rewarded then we see in a collectivist culture. Being rewarded with things such as low tax rates which inspires them to continue with their activities of their culture. As mentioned in Chapter 7 no nation is either considered to be fully individualist or fully collectivist. National economies are arranged on a scale in which we see the three different economic systems. The scale is setup in a way in which centrally planned economy is
  • 13. Principles And Tactics Of Negotiation Being genuine and sincere in the communication with others is one of the most important strategies available for resolving a conflict. As the article entitled Principles and Tactics of Negotiation (2007) mentions, most of the basic principles of negotiation were learned before kindergarten. Be polite. Be honest. Be considerate (p. 102). The same goes for all interactions involving a conflict. Collectively, both sincerity and honesty are common expectations in nearly all forms of negotiation, but is especially important in relationships of business. For example, the most people wouldn t be interested in negotiating contracts that involves financial goals or money if a negotiator has a poor reputation in doing business. Alternatively, if a negotiator has a good reputation and the perceptionof them is sincere, their business is likely to benefit from the influx of new client. A really good reference for this is the business of veterinarian medicine. Although every animal clinic relies on money to keep their doors open in order to continue to treat animals in distress, veterinarians still have a responsibility to treat pets with sincerity and compassion, in addition to providing appropriate medical care. When a client brings their pet in for euthanasia, for instance, many veterinarians and supporting staff demonstrate a cold demeanor since they do not want to show express their emotions while at work. However, this behavior can be perceived as uncaring or insincere,

  • 18. Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses 1. Introduction to Capital Gains and Losses Nearly everything that you own, whether it is for investment purposes or personal use, is a capital asset. Capital assets are stocks or bonds held for investment purposes, land, machinery, etc. When an individual sells a capital asset, the difference between the asset s purchase price and the amount that it is sold for, is either a capital gain, which is in the case if the selling price exceeds the purchase price, or a capital loss, where the purchase price exceeds the selling price. When the value of the capital asset increases beyond the price that it was initially purchased for, that is a capital gain. The gain is not realized immediately, because the holder of the asset has not sold it. Once the individual sells the capital asset, at that point, the individual must realize the gain and must claim it on income taxes. (http:/ /www.investopedia.com/terms/c/capitalgain.asp). Capital gains and losses are categorized into two categories: long term and short term. If the asset is held for one year or more before the disposition of the asset, the capital gain or loss is considered a long term. If the asset is held for less than one year prior to the disposition, the capital gain or loss is considered short term. (http:/ /www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc409.html). 2. These sea animals were then covered by layers of sediment and rock over time which caused them to become buried deeper and deeper, until enormous amounts of pressure and heat turned them into oil and gas. Scientists may also measure the gravitational pull of rock masses deep within the earth, yet the most widely used and effective way of finding Natural gas is by drilling down through the layers of sedimentary rock to reach the rock formations that contain oil and gas deposits. After natural gas comes out of the ground, it goes to a processing plant where it is cleaned of impurities and separated into its various components. Now, the type of natural gas that goes into automobiles is called Liquefied Natural Gas, or LNG. The process for making LNG starts the same way as producing natural gas, except the natural gas is cooled to 260 degrees Fahrenheit. By doing this, the natural gas changes into LNG and its volume is reduced 600 times. Another exceptional way Natural gas is found is by 3 D and 4 D seismic imaging. This technique uses powerful technology from computers to help determine accuracy in whereas to drill. Another technique used to find natural gas is called Hydraulic fracturing. . This involves the injection of more than a million gallons of water, sand and chemicals at high pressure, down and across into horizontally drilled wells as far as 10,000 feet

Even though these are not the algae s that are causing havoc off of Florida s coast, it is still a potentially useful treatment that could be tested on K. brevis in the future. They have found that Thiazolidione(TD) derivatives have an algicidal effect on the harmful algae bloom. TD is used to treat type two Diabetes. TD binds to and activates peroxisome proliferator activated receptors(PPARs), whose activation reduces insulin resistance. The PPARs bound by TD s activate transcription of several genes related to lipid and glucose metabolism(Wu et al 2013). The words Gospel, a son of God and a riddle in his definition outstand to me, and I think these words are the key of his definition. Thus, it is important to understand what these words meaning is. What is Gospel? The people usually think the Fourth Gospel that Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, and it is all about Jesus. In the ancient Hellenistic time, the Gospels were regarded as biographies of Jesus (Boring, 508). If Jonathan Z. Smith represents a son of God as Jesus in his definition, I do not think the Gospel is only the story of Jesus, a son of God. While Jesus appears in every scene of Gospel, Jesus himself is not the main object of the Gospel. But I acknowledge that Jesus is the important character in the Gospel because God reveals himself through Jesus, and Jesus reveals himself as the Christ (Boring, 509). Boring said that the structure of the Gospel is not talking about Jesus s life, but it is who Jesus is in the plan of God (Boring, 510). Dr. Smith s definition seems like only focusing on Jesus as a son of God. However, I would like to emphasize God and God s work through Jesus the Christ in the Gospel rather than Jesus as a son of God. If only focusing on Jesus, we can easily miss God s works in the believer s life and the community in the Gospel. And also, it is easy to think Jesus as only human being. I believe that Jesus, a son of God, cannot be explained

  • 29. Aquinas Weaknesses In Core Questions in Philosophy, Sober describes the first two ways of Aquinas for the existence of God as a division of causation. In this paper, I will examine the first two arguments of Aquinas, while each has its weakness, the weaknesses outweigh the strengths. The first argument comes with the weakness of not being able to survive modern physics. Whereas, the second argument delivers the weakness of the conclusion not following the proposition. Combined, I believe that both arguments do not exhibit strengths in their form and verification. Despite both arguments, not having strengths, they both showcase a combined weakness of the birthday fallacy. Overall, both arguments have valid and strong weaknesses, but no strengths amongst them.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aquinas s method does not realize that there is exactly one event/motion that sets all chains in the natural world, he rather shows that there is at least one event/motion. Both arguments share a common weakness of not showing there is exactly one first cause, but it rather shows that there is at least one. If we were to show that there is exactly one first cause, this would cause the birthday fallacy which is invalid. Additionally, I would like to say that there are no strengths exhibiting the first two arguments of Aquinas. Perhaps, I say this as there are many flaws within both arguments and the strengths were quite unnoticeable to me, but each line in the argument has flaws, which to me, concluded that there are no
  • 30. Death And Its Effects On The Reality Of Death They were afraid of dying but there were even more afraid to show it. They found jokes to tell. They used a hard vocabulary to contain the terrible softness. Greased they d say. Offed, lit up, zapped while zipping. It wasn t cruelty, just stage presence. They were actors. When someone died, it wasn t quite dying, because in a curious way, it seemed scripted, and because they had their lines mostly memorized, irony mixed with tragedy, and because they called it by other names, as if to encyst and destroy the reality of deathitself. pg. 19 To someone just picking up this book, this scene would simply look like some poor soldiers developing a temporary and innocent coping mechanism to deal with Death as they face him head on. But... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One character is obviously the comic relief, another the beloved hero. The rest, valiant men fighting for their country, their lives, their freedom. The scene ends and the curtain rises, all of the pseudo soldiers take a bow and go home to their normal lives, far from the hands of death that grasp at the men forgotten in Vietnam, the real soldiers. They, who saw the hardships of war as more than just a script, beyond the glamorized versions that are seen by the American eyes. They saw the death and the tragedy, slowly becoming worn down into less of a human and more of a desensitized killing machine because that s what war does. It permanently scars the soldiers, tearing away the feeling of loss and inappropriately replacing it with comedy, showing that war is destructive, stealing away an ounce of humanity with each bullet. As seen in The Things They Carried, written by Tim O Brien, the Vietnam War destroyed the minds of soldiers, causing them to lose their human emotions in an unglamorous setting, devaluing death as they lose their ability to appropriately handle situations. Center stage stands a man, young and valiant, seemingly fearless. Well, until a bullet collides with his brain and he loses his identity as Ted Lavender and adapts his new one as another tally of the total number of men killed in action. But he is not actually killed. No, he is greased they d say.

Wgu Organization Management Task 1 Organizational Management JFT2 Task 1 Utah Organizational Management JFT2, Task 1: Utah Symphony amp; Utah Opera Proposed Merger Analysis Utah Symphony amp; Utah Opera Proposed Merger Analysis In 2002, a proposal was made to merge the Utah Symphony and Utah Opera due to the failing economy, collapsing of the stock market, declining government financial support, and a waning of donations for the arts. The proposed merger would help both organizations by economizing on costs and expanding the artistic potential of both organizations. Each of the organizations need to support the decision in order for the merger to be successful. A1. Bill Bailey and McClelland s Need Theory Bill Bailey, chairman of the board for the Utah Opera,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Scott Parker can utilize Adam s equity theory to persuade Mrs. Abravanel to support the merger. The equity theory in essence is when individuals seek to maintain equity based on the inputs they produce and the outcomes they receive from their inputs as compared to others perceived inputs and outcomes. A balance between inputs and outputs is strived for because it leads to fairness and improved relations. Mrs. Abravanel s opposition to the merger could be because of a perceived unfairness based on the efforts her husband put into to bringing the Utah Symphony up to world class stature. Mrs. Abravanel sees the symphony as the dominant party in the merger. This is apparent by Mrs. Abravanel s statement, Maurice would never take second billing to anyone (Delong amp; Ager, 2005). Parker must show Mrs. Abravanel that the merger will help alleviate some of the financial stress the symphony is facing and increase the success and visibility of both organizations. In order to convince Mrs. Abravanel to support the merger, Parker needs to explain the rationale behind the merger as well as understand why Mrs. Abravanel sees the merger as unfair and inequitable. In order to sway Mrs. Abravanel to support the merger, Parker can offer Mrs. Abravanel a seat to participate in the merger discussions. Mrs. Abravanel s perceived unfairness would be assuaged by giving her a voice in the discussions (input) and a say in the outcomes
  • 32. John Macarthur s The Myth Of Creationism Introduction John Macarthur is a best selling author and pastor of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California. He is the current president of The Master s College and Seminary. He also has a national syndicated radio program Grace to You. I believe the author s intention was to debunk the myth of evolution. John MacArthur addresses creation from a Biblical standpoint. The book targets a primarily a Christian audience and makes a strong case for a literal six day creation. This is not a book that fundamentally concentrates on persuading unbelieving evolutionists of creationism, yet rather it focuses on convincing Christians who trust that in some type of advancement, (for example, old earth creationism or the Gap Theory) that the primary perusing of Genesis one and two is a strict perusing. MacArthur constructs a significant part of the book with respect to the view that Evolution is itself a religion that is entirely contradicted to Christianity. Creationism and Evolution, along these lines, can never be blended. We should have faith in it is possible that either. Subsequent to giving numerous reasons why Evolutionism is contradictory to God and His outline, the book spends a section on each of the days of creation. In every part, the creator demonstrates why something besides an exacting six day creation is outlandish. In this manner, he gives important cases of the miracles and wonders of creation. A large part of the book is centered around disproving

Mary Surratt Get A More Harsh Punishment There is a lot of controversy over whether Mary Surratt should have been murdered, but I believe that Mary Surratt should have received a less harsh punishment and shouldn t have been killed; there is a lot of huge points that prove that Mary Surratt was not guilty the whole time. The first colossal point is that Mary Surratt didn t know that they were going to kill the president. For instance, in source 2, it states, Mary knew of the kidnapping plot but not the plan to kill Lincoln. This evidence shows that Mary Surratt had no clue about the kidnapping plot. This indicates that she had given them the guns with no idea on what their purpose was. Also, in the same source (Source 2), it mentions, When questioned if she knew of Booth s plan, she replied, Never in the world if it was the last word to utter. This indicates the first point that I mentioned about the guns use was true.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In sources 1 2, Mary Surratt said, Don t let me fall. to the attending soldier before she was terminated. This reveals that she had always tried to be innocent even before her doom. Another proof is that other people were saying that she was innocent (Source 2). This provides evidence that she is not guilty because she was supported by other people including Henry Kyd Douglas. Some people may think that since Mary Surratt supplied the guns that she is guilty. Nevertheless, she is still not at fault here because she didn t know the gun s purpose. For example, it states that Mary Surratt didn t know about the assassination (Source 1 and 2). This brings me back to my first point about the gun s usage. Also, in source 2, it states, When questioned if she knew of Booth s plan, she replied, Never in the world if it was the last word to utter. This means that Mary Surratt had no clue about the massacre and kept her
  • 35. Sympath and Bury me in a Free Land Sympathy by Paul Dunbar and Bury me in a Free Land by Frances Watkins Harper are two African American poems that differ in tone and style. Both of these poems however, despite their differences, address prominent historical aspect of African American slavery and present the misery of Black men living in America during that era. These poems, through numerous rhetoric devices, present the struggle of African Americans facing the clash between bondage and freedom. Dunbar utilizes the analogy of caged bird in his poem Sympathy to expose the emotions and struggles of enslaved African Americans to achieve freedom. He begins his poem by describing the free bird singing when sun is bright and first bud opens to portray the beauty of landscape. However, the beauty turns into sadness when the poet states I know what the caged bird feels, alas which depicts a tone of sadness. This contrast between a free bird and caged bird initiates the losses of caged bird. It cannot go out and experience the freedom under the open sky. It struggles with physical constrain till its blood is red on the cruel bars helps visualize the intensity of struggle the bird is experiencing to gain his freedom to go where he desires, and to be with those who give him happiness. This struggle is similar of African American who tried to rebel in hopes of gaining their freedoms, but all resulted in vain. Their wounds, just like the caged bird, are old, old scars emphasizes that African Americans

Rugby Club Case Study The celebration of two heritage Rugby League clubs possessing extremely rich histories will commence this Sunday afternoon, when the North Sydney Bears host the Newtown Jets in the first leg of their annual clash for the Frank Hyde Shield. He then enjoyed a highly successful media career as a radio broadcaster, but his deep connection with the two clubs that will run out at North Sydney Oval this weekend was topped off in his final year, when Hyde represented the Bears as the captain/coach of the 1943 NSWRL premiership losing side that went down... By definition, hegemonic masculinity is the dominance of men over women, where men must sustain this dominance in any way. Defining what the hegemonic masculine ideal is in Canada is difficult as we are a very young, multicultural country, so the notion of the ideal manis a warped characterization of the ideal American male. This paper seeks to prove that hegemonic masculinityis a social construction which is detrimental to society. The negative effects of hegemonic masculinity on men include; male violence, misogyny, and homophobia which are inextricably linked to how we define manhood as a culture.... That is, when two boys are hitting each other this is a violent act, and they should be taught that it is not the answer. As well, associating boys with words such as power, dominance, aggression and guns, should be changed because it will have boys feel as though they have to be a certain way to be a real man and that includes aggressive behaviours. Another solution to ending violence in masculinity would be to stop comparing it to femininity. As the narrator in Tough Guise 2 reiterated, if a man gives the appearance of being kind and gentle he should not be referred to as a pussy or a fag ; this type of behaviour not only instills homophobia but also proves more than anything that kindness is should be seen as a womanly
  • 38. The Pros And Cons Of Cognitive Linguistics Cognitive Linguistics is a new approach to the study of language which views linguistic knowledge as part of general cognition and thinking. It emerged through the work of George Lakoff and Ronald Langacker and considers that linguistic behavior is not separated from other general cognitive abilities which allow mental processes of reasoning or memory but understood as an integral part of it. According to Lakoff and Johnson, there is a conceptual potential that enables the transferring of the knowledge and experience human beings have of the things and events that they know well, to those other objects and events with which they may not be so familiar with, and even to abstract concepts. (Johnson)One of the main theoretical principles of cognitive... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are certain approaches that focus on the text, like the formalist and structuralist ones, others focus on the writer like the biographical or psychological ones. Each of these approaches has their own positive and negative aspects. A cognitive linguistic approach to literature reconciles both the above mentioned theories and takes into consideration a third aspect: the reader. Literary experience becomes thus the result of the conceptualization of all the conceptual aspects of human experience and behavior. A cognitive approach to literature rests on three key principles from cognitive science: the notion that meaning is embodied, the notion that categorization is a feature of prototype effects, so that categories are also socio culturally grounded in embodiment, and the notion that language and its manifestations in interpretation is a natural human trait. (Stockwell) Recent work in cognitive linguistics explores the analogical processes by which the human brain makes sense of its world. So the way authors think is the way we think. Claiborne Rice states that textual production and reception necessarily rely on identical, or even similar, integration networks (Rice) Joseph Grady asserts that speakers and hearers share the same cognitive network structures. (Grady) According to Fauconnier and Turner, the same structures are at work in both production and reception. (Fauconnier) Under these views we understand that the human mind thinks analogically. The components of analogy include cognitive mapping skills that create levels of identification between across different domains and mental spaces. In order to understand what literary critics do when analyzing a literary text, we need to identify the kinds of cognitive mappings they

Deterministic grinding process development for metal bonded diamond grinding wheels through patterned grinding wheel by utilizing micro EDM comprises four main investigation on: (1) material removal mechanism considering interaction between diamond grains, workpiece, metal bond and electrical spark, (2) effective pattern geometry design for effective material removal and grinding performance, (3) application of micro EDM to create the pattern on the metal bonded grinding wheel, (4) analysing the grinding performance on hard materials such as Inconel and carbide. We believe that knowledge obtained in these four subjects through journal publications and conference/seminar will benefit academics in the field of manufacturing technology, surface science and materials engineering. Especially, establishing a FEM/SPH model which can present different material removal phases, rubbing, ploughing, and cutting during grinding and mechanical interaction between abrasivegrains, metal bond, and workpiece will benefit the researcher in the field of micromachining by providing advanced understanding on metal cutting mechanism at micro scale for hard materials. Because grinding has the most complex cutting mechanism among other machining processes, detailed understanding of this certainly will help to comprehend other machining processes cutting mechanism easily. Application of micro EDM to dress the metal bonded diamondwheels will show how electrical discharge energy is controlled to

Strategies For Spanish-Speaking English Language Learners Area of Focus The area of focus for the Action Research Project at Nieman Elementary will be to improve students reading comprehension for Spanish speaking English Language Learners through the use of advance organizers through reading instruction in English and Spanish. I would implement expository advance organizers, narrative advance organizers, skimming as a form of advance organizer, and graphic advance organizers as explicit comprehension instruction to help further student understanding of a concept by activating higher levels of thinking. Title: The Use of Advanced Organizers to Improve Reading Comprehension Among Spanish Speaking English Language Learners Statement of Purpose and Questions Purpose I propose to implement dual language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Children begin from an early point to understand that comprehension is the point of reading. Comprehension is the intentional thinking process that occurs as we read. Readers should be purposeful and active. They should use a wide variety of strategies, often simultaneously, to create meaning from text. As mentioned, comprehension strategies and explicit comprehension instruction are often omitted from reading instruction. When students are taught a set of comprehension skills, they will be able to become better independent readers. For students whose home language is Spanish, small group instruction in their home language and Academic English will allow them to transfer their comprehension skills so they can find the meaning of their reading. The first aim of this study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of purposeful reading comprehension instruction. The second aim of this study is to use the comprehension strategies during English instruction and Spanish instruction so students will be able to independently apply those meta cognition skills that will result in improved reading comprehension

The sky clear, blue and bright with a few lingering perfectly formed cotton clouds. The trees just starting to turn from their deep green to shades of orange, yellow and brown. I walked into the mall jubilant and ecstatic because the Polaris Mall had a mini playground for kids and they had this climbing wall which I completely adored. I could have never foretold the events which took place next. The moment I walked in, I felt a fresh blast of air conditioner air on my face. I looked around, taking in the ambiance of the mall. The Starbucks to the right of me, the Nike store to the left of me. But I quickly forgot about these trivial matters and I sprinted to the playgroundand immediately leaped to the top of the slide. I slid down the slide, swung on the swings and saved the best for last, the climbing wall. After I finished all of the other playground equipment, I bounded over the playground with wide strides with a wide grin on my face at the climbing wall. There was a couple of kids at the bottom of the climbing wall, I didn t pay too much attention to them. There were also kids just like me climbing the wall with skill and dexterity. I was determined to ascend the top of the climbing wall before them. I scaled the wall faster than I have ever thought possible. In doing so, I was reckless, my feet placed themselves where I thought was a climbing rock. My other foot immediately relocated itself and I lurched to the right and my feet displaced themselves. I found myself no longer on the climbing wall but in mid air
  • 43. British Colonization Of India Essay Historical Context and Background British involvement on the Indian subcontinent began early in the 17th Century through the British East India Company and its business ventures and dealings. The early British Empire was composed of several self governing colonies which had been settled in by British civilians, and colonial policy was one of salutary neglect (Brown 2010). It is not unfair to say that Britain s relationship with India was one of political subordination, but economic exploitation formed the core of this relationship. The colonisation of India by the British Empire was clearly geared to benefit the mother country, even at the cost of the colony (Modern India 2010). Colonial exploitation was carried out through three distinct phases over time. The first phase of mercantilism, which took place between 1757 and 1813, was one of direct plunder in which surplus Indian revenues were used to buy Indian finished goods to be exported back to Britain (Modern India 2010). In the second phase, from 1813 to 1858, India was converted into a source of raw material and a market for British goods. The third and final phase from 1858 onwards, was one of finance imperialism in which British capital began to control Indian banks, foreign trading firms and managing agencies in India. This phased exploitation was carried out through a range of economic policies, primarily in the industrial and agricultural sectors of the colonial economy of India (Modern History 2010). As
