Bullying can occur in early childhood settings between children with immature social skills. Victims of bullying may exhibit physical symptoms like stomach aches or headaches, as well as feelings of anxiety. Perpetrators of bullying engage in behaviors like biting, pushing, hitting, teasing, and name calling. While some aggressive behaviors are developmentally normal, bullying should always be taken seriously and addressed. Educators should intervene in conflicts, teach children to manage their feelings, and help build self-acceptance to prevent bullying.
