Troubled by the menace of bullying in their school, students at the CAS School in Karachi took up the challenge of educating their peers about what bullying is, its harmful effects for everyone as well as how to escape being a victim of bullying. Through powerpoint presentations as well as distribution of flyers and pamphlets to the student body on the subject, the school environment has become much more sensitive to bullying and the importance of eliminating it.
These PowerPoint presentations are intended for use by crime prevention practitioners who bring their experience and expertise to each topic. The presentations are not intended for public use or by individuals with no training or expertise in crime prevention. Each presentation is intended to educate, increase awareness, and teach prevention strategies. Presenters must discern whether their audiences require a more basic or advanced level of information.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

- 10 to 14 year old girls may be at even higher risk for suicide,
according to the study above
- According to statistics reported by ABC News, nearly 30
percent of students are either bullies or victims of bullying,
and 160,000 kids stay home from school every day because of
fear of bullying
- Suicide is more common among boys. Although girls attempt
suicide more, Boys find more efficient ways and their success
rate is higher in comparison to girls.

He was one of the many that thought
suicide was the only way to escape all
the Bullying. was an 18-year-old
American student at Rutgers
University in Piscataway, New Jersey,
who jumped to his death from
the George Washington Bridge on
September 22, 2010. On September
19, his roommate, Dharun Ravi, and a
fellow hallmate, Molly Wei, used
a webcam on Ravi's computer and a
computer in Wei's dorm room to view,
without Clementi's knowledge,
Clementi kissing another man and the
following day, He posted the video on
twitter. Clementi's death brought
national and international attention to
the issue of cyberbullying and the
struggles facing LGBT youth.

27. Olivia Penpraze
She was one of the many that thought
suicide was the only way to escape all
the Bullying. The day before she
committed suicide, She posted a video
on tumblr saying how she couldn’t
continue on with life. The following
day after her death, One of the
members of the band ‘Pierce the Veil’
saw the video and he said that the
video haunted him for many nights
afterwards. He informed the band of
the video and they made a song called
‘Bulls in the Bronx’ in tribute to Olivia
Penpraze.
