Effects Of Bullying
Bullying should always be taken serious if one suspects, or has been in contact with a victim. "Long–term Effects of Bullying" by Dieter Wolke and
Suzet Tanya Lereya explains that bullying comes in many ways, one may be showing aggression verbally by name calling, insulting the individual;
indirect bullying which can include leaving the victim out on gatherings or games and rumor spreading; and lastly physically such as hitting, or
shoving. "Long–term Effects of Bullying" also explains by "bullying the individual is seeking abuse of power by aggressive behavior or intentional
harm–doing by peers that is carried out repeatedly and involves an imbalance of power, either actual or perceived, between the victim and the
bully." It has been shown that the younger the child is that is being victimized the more damaging the long term effects. By inflicting pain to a child
or any form of suffering can really affect the individual as they get older and may perceive things in a more pessimistic way, it can harm the child to
really be oneself and explore different things in life. Nonetheless it can affect the victim to make new friends if the individual who is bullying is
spreading rumors or making threats to others to cease or refrain to talking to the victim.
"Long–term Effects of Bullying" has explained that children who have been bullied up to 8th grade have been able to "predict borderline personality
symptoms and psychotic experiences, such as hallucinations or delusions, by

Bullying Effects
Causes and Effects of Bullying
Every year, approximately 7 percent of students report to being bullied ("Physical"). Most people know bullying is wrong, but it continues to play a
dominating role in the lives of adolescents. Whether the bullying was done by spreading rumors, calling someone names or through the Internet, there
are many different causes of bullying, why it occurs, and how it effects the victim. The causes of bullying can influence how the bully decides to target
a victim. Victims of bullying can be targeted through physical, verbal, indirect or cyber bullying. The effects of bullying can be severe and
long–lasting among victims.
Physical bullying is one of the most–common types of bullying. "In many cases the...show more content...
Cyber bullying is when a victim is being harassed, threatened or targeted through the use of digital technology ("Cyber Bullying"). The causes of
cyber bullying may be that the bully does not want to engage in direct contact or wishes to remain anonymous. Some cyber bullies are victims of
real–world bullying, who bully others to feel powerful ("Cyber Bullying"). Cyber bullying affects many teens in high school every day and can cause
negative and even traumatic effects ("Cyberbullying Effects"). Extreme anxiety, loneliness, and low self–esteem are among the most common effects
of cyber bullying ("Cyberbullying Effects"). If these effects become severe, it may lead to extreme anxiety, or even thoughts of suicide.
Approximately 43 percent of teenagers have reported being effected by cyber bullying. It is also seen that cyber bullying is more common in females
rather than males ("Welcome to Bullying Statistics"). The causes of bullying can contribute to a myriad of factors. Despite what kind of bullying is
happening, the causes are similar. Typically the bully has low self–esteem or self–confidence issues and desires the need to feel dominant. Other
reasons include a broken–home environment, a substance abuse, or victims who have been abused or neglected. While the causes of bullying explain
why this problem is prevalent, there are even far more serious consequences. Whether it is physical, verbal, indirect of cyber bullying, victims of

Essay on Effects of Bullying
Bullying is a terrible and dangerous activity that occurs in numerous places, such as schools, workplaces, and even homes. According to a study
conducted in 2010, "about one in seven students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade is either a bully or has been a victim of bullying" ("Bullying
Statistics"). Bullying can be performed by a student, co–worker, or even a parent. There are many classifications of bullying, each with their own
causes, such as a lack of parental guidance, low self esteem, and even the influence of one's own peers, all of which could result in negative
outcomes, like suicide or murder. Bullying in general can be defined as the act of using an advantage over someone, such as strength or position of
power, to...show more content...
Victims of parental bullying often, in fact, turn out to be bullies themselves, as they grew up knowing nothing but that lifestyle. Parental bullying can
be a never ending cycle, as the victims tend to carry on the trait to their children, so on and so on. Cyberbullying in recent years has proven itself to
be one of the most apparent and socially relevant forms of bullying. By definition, cyberbullying must "have a minor on both sides, or at least have
been instigated by a minor against another minor. Once adults become involved, it is plain and simple cyber–harassment or cyberstalking" ("Stop
Cyberbullying"). Cyberbullying takes place over the internet, behind the keys of a computer. With so many people plugged into social media,
bullies find this to be a prime place to do their work. Often times, the bully will slander and post negative things about their victim, and spread it
around to embarrass the victim. One of the most severe cases of cyberbullying takes place when an individual obtains a nude photograph of another
individual and sends it all over the internet. These cases generally end with very drastic consequences, such as suicide or revenge bullying. This form
of bullying is known as 'sexting,' and it is encountered very often in high schools across the nation.
The causes of bullying vary between the different subdivisions. Signs of bullying has been known to appear as early as preschool. Bullying

The Effects of Bullying Essay
The dictionary definition of bullying is, "a person who is habitually cruel or overbearing, especially to smaller or weaker people"("Bullying") . To
many, it is more than a definition in a dictionary, it is a lifestyle. Unfortunately, an opposite lifestyle is lived by more than seventy–five percent of
students across the country, the life of being bullied. Hundreds and thousands of children dread opening their computer or going to school because they
know what awaits them. Cruel comments, physical harm, and humiliation. Bullies are able to use many tactics to push their victims past the breaking
point. They will use the victim's social status and deviance, to label them and disconnect them from their in–groups until it seems like they...show more

Sociologist ask many questions that could hold the answer to how a society can put an end to bullying and it's harmful effects. One of the five basic
questions of sociology is the following, how do groups influence individual human behavior? Taking a look at this question, one can see how this
can pertain directly to bullying and suicide. Social groups can have a great influence on an individual's behavior, especially for young people.
Everyone wants to feel a sense of belonging and to feel like they are a part of something bigger than themselves. A social Group involves some type
of interaction, a sense of belonging, of membership, shared interests or agreement on values, norms, and goals. Throughout a persons young life, they
will be involved with several social groups. Some will be in–groups, which are social groups that people feel a sense of belonging, share a
consciousness of kind, share a common fate, adhere to a common ideology, or come from a common background. On the other hand, an out–group is a
group to which people feel they do not belong, they do not share a consciousness of kind, and they feel little identity. If an individual is being bullied,
it will often be by an out–group. This out–group will make the individual feel like they are weird or different, however, by becoming a part of a
