What is Bullying? Bullying is when someone keeps doing or saying things to have power over another person.
What are the Different Types Of Bullying?  Verbal bullying including derogatory comments and bad names Bullying through social exclusion or isolation Physical bullying such as hitting, kicking, shoving, and spitting Bullying through lies and false rumors Having money or other things taken or damaged by students who bully  Being threatened or being forced to do things by students who bully. Racial bullying Sexual bullying Cyber bullying
What are Possible Reason's Why People Bully? To be popular or fit in with the crowd. Most feel unlike or unaccepted.  Some may be bulled themselves. Others may not realize that there bullying is effecting others. Jealousy To get attention or to be known as tough  Enjoys to see others suffering.
Bullying is a Cycle
What's the effects of Being  Bully?  Some people think bullying is just part of growing up and a way for young people to learn to stick up for themselves. However, there's more to bullying then you know. Many victims of bullying are left with  : Depression Low self esteem  Health problems  Poor grades & Suicidal thoughts Not only the oppressed are affected with bullying, the oppressors often:
Constantly gets into fights Steal and / or vandalize property Drink alcohol and / or smoke Have poor grades  Perceive a negative climate at school and also  Carry weapons
How Can You Prevent Bullying or Be a Cause to the Solution? Respond as calmly and assertively as you can (anger ignites the situation and tears reinforce the bully’s behavior) Speak up or offer support when someone is being bullied Seek immediate help from an adult then report bullying or harassment incidents to the principal or school counselor Privately support those being hurt with kind words
Express disapproval of bullying by not joining in the laughter, teasing or gossip Speak out in support of respect for all people no matter how “ different” their interests, skin color, religion, origin, income, physical appearance or abilities Defuse a problem situation by taking the bully aside and asking  him or her to “cool it”
Tolerance is to Maturity  as  Courage is to Equality
