The document discusses different techniques for brainstorming in an agile environment, including pitch and critique, 6-8-5 ideation, and design studio sessions. It provides an overview and process for each technique. Pitch and critique involves presenting an idea for feedback, 6-8-5 ideation has participants sketch ideas individually then share, and design studio is a collaborative sketching process done in rounds. The document emphasizes embracing critique, capturing diverse perspectives quickly, and building on others' ideas to progress concepts forward.

Sparkle-ize it Talk and Workshop from The Sum ConferenceDesignMap
Every Designer has had the experience at one point or another of having someone draw something for them, and ask them to take it and make it look good.
This happens for one (or many) of several reasons:
• They don't have time to think about or discuss alternatives
• They think it's the best solution
• They think you have little to offer besides making tarting up their idea ("Make it sparkly")
Too often, people assume point #3, get insulted, but sparkle-ize it anyway. It's demoralizing and often results in sub-par work (it is at least not as good as it could be). This happens in other contexts too: Actors get told how to say their lines (the dreaded “line reading”). Writers are asked to “just write [my idea] up”. Designers tell Engineers how they should implement what's designed. Most of us are guilty of assuming #3 at some point, whatever our role is.
This talk is about how to "reverse out" design thinking. How to look at a napkin drawing and work with the person who drew it to understand what their goals were when they made it, and to propose alternative solutions.
Conversely, if you think in solutions and can't help handing scribbles on napkins to your colleagues, it's about how to back out your own thought process and get more and better contributions from your colleagues.
Either way, it's about better solutions.

The Trivento Transition: enterprise design case: change of identity, experien...entdesigners
How Trivento realigned to intrapreneurship in 7 design challenges.
We present the journey of reinventing Trivento, a Dutch services company. The company wanted to become more innovative and a thought leader in its market. Going back to its authentic roots, the company went through zeven design challenges in four years. Sometimes struggling and introspective, at other times picking up momentum and flourishing.
We designed and implemented an intrapreneurial culture, organised multidisciplinary teams in which professionals excel and adopted an incubator model for starting up new teams. We introduced and created several tools, including a handbook for our “intrapreneurs”. We created a new identity, personas and propositions. We developed the content marketing strategy for inspiring those personas, and implemented it using the online and physical intrapreneur.nl experience.
We present our lessons and our process and deliverables on using intrapreneurship to grow a digital services company that embraces change.
Designer Games - Creative Exercises to Enhance Your WorkJohn H Douglass
Ultimately we’re all fighting for users, but which ideas will win their favor? Sometimes, in the battle arena of meetings, requirements and design reviews, the loudest voice gets heard but not necessarily the best. Sometimes design sensibilities and user feedback take a backseat to politics, short-term goals or decisions by committee. In this talk you’ll learn more about a few useful weapons, such as gamestorming and design critiques, to make sure the best ideas win.
The Lean experiments and the art of the Pivot: Learnings from a Moroccan Star...Ghassouli Zakaria
Very happy to have been invited to be part of the biggest tech conference in the EMEA region and delivering a keynote speech about the art of the pivot at the Devoxx Conference. Hope you enjoy it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnTnrSlOLGo
Avito.ma launched in Morocco in 2012 and operated since then with high uncertainty and no guarantees that the model will fit the market and the Moroccans. Being part of a big group, having relatively a good budget doesn’t forestall risks of failure! It even put more pressure on the team to make it work.
A successful startup, model or entrepreneur is in one hand about having and continuously auditing its mindset to have an innovation culture. In the other hand, it’s about having the right tools and frameworks to carve people problems, ideas and insights toward solutions, achievements and success.
At Avito.ma it took us a lot of experiments and many pivots during the last 3 years to be the biggest classified site in Morocco and help every month millions of Moroccans buy and sell in a different way. We’ve thus pooled knowledge when it comes to leading lean experimentations and pivoting that we would like to share with the community so they learn from our mistakes and try out our best practices.
Presented at O'Reilly Design 2017 and the 2017 Information Architecture Summit. This talk describes approaches to ensuring that user research findings are taken into account at every phase of design and development and that design team members and stakeholders are involved in those approaches.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
