- Use this slide to tell your story. How did you get here? What are you about? I was identified as an exceptional pupil in grade 5 and was placed into the “enhanced learning program” throughout grades 5-12. This program was similar to Praxis because our teachers actively encouraged my small group of classmates and I to go beyond the norm and truly reach our full potential. I still wake up feeling passionate about pursuing goals that surpass what most people assume is possible; and I have yet to give up on any of my dreams. My core guiding principle is to enable others to lead fulfilling lives by creating value for family, friends and employers. I have been raised to believe in myself to the extent that I feel that anything is possible! I excel in environments that are open and transparent. I have a talent for bringing out the best in others’ and am quick to incorporate feedback received from other talented individuals. I thrive when I am given challenging tasks to complete because of the feeling of accomplishment I get when I can actively use my creative mind to solve problems, often in ways that are unconventional. For example, after reading the book “Never Split the Difference” by Chris Voss, I independently re-wrote the sales script for HR Downlodas which resulted in it beinv revamped for the entire sales team! I also take pride in giving open and honest feedback and criticism because it is a great way to take pride in surpassing goals and expectations. I love working independently but consider most I am challenged and faced with new projects often. I have gathered more than ten years of experience working in sales and marketing and have assembled a wealth of knowledge by soaking up wisdom from my grandfathered who worked as an entrepreneur. I have also been involved with many volunteer organizations and make it a part of my mission to always conduct myself ethically, and routinely reciprocate kindness by giving generously to my local and global community.
- This is me as a teenager working with my Grandfather at Amethyst Mine Panorama. It is an active working mine and operates as a tourist destination and jewellery store. He continues to own and operate this unique place into his late 80’s. - Here is where I develop content surrounding the Virtual Reality Field. After setting up my mailing list and routinely delivering high-level content, I intend to ask my audience which VR accessories they would like, and then sell them via an online store. www.virtualrealityguycanada.com
- I consistently exceeded expectations at HR Downloads and earned the respect of colleagues and managers by implementing recommendations to my sales approach quickly. I was always above-goal in statistics collected for metrics (number of calls made + number of minutes on the phone). I host a weekly VR Enthusiast meet-up: https://www.meetup.com/campuscreative/events/236961844/ . I am in the process of growing this meet-up and specifically focusing on introducing young people to VR. We had more than 15 RSVP to the first event (on New Year’s Day 2017!) and ten are already confirmed for this weekend. I volunteer for community organizations whose goals and vision closely match mine. For example, after working at Camp Trilium for a Summer, I organized a successful fundraiser for their cause despite living in a different province. I also continued to volunteer for the day camp for years after I worked there.
