Objective A career of some 40+ years has provided a well developed qualified working knowledge of
Instrument Control Systems. Experience has been gained on numerous diverse projects
world wide. Responsibilities have included not just hands on but also the supervision and
management of projects and commissioning of Instrument Control, DCS, ESD, F&G, MMS,
Compressor Controls and HVAC systems. Completion of numerous training courses enabling
my engineering and management consultancy skills to stay abreast of latest technological
solutions. Honeywell TDC 3000/Experion training courses have steered a career towards
DCS and Safety Systems specialisation. Project Engineering training in Honeywell’s Centre
of Excellence in Brussels, coupled with hands on, in depth practical experience has led to
management and supervision opportunities in these fields of engineering. Add to this,
extensive 12yrs. PMC experience. These attributes provide a good foundation for
maintaining a diligent and competent approach to both engineering and business
management solutions anywhere in the world.
Experience • Feb 2003–Feb 2015: Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction ADGAS. Abu Dhabi, UAE
Snr. Control and Safety Systems Engineering Consultant (PMC)
 Contracted as SCSE consultant to the client Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Co. for the
PMC activities involving two Controls Systems Upgrade Projects and one Greenfields
project namely the Integrated Gas Development Project (IGD), on Das Island. Initially
reviewing Front End Engineering Design documents, CONSOP and HAZOP reviews.
Preparation of ITB documents and participating in value engineering, PHSER and task
risk assessment and SIL workshops (SHELL RRM and SIFPRO databases). Then
actively reviewing and approving specifications and procedures, Conceptual and Detailed
Design Specifications and Control Narratives and schemes on behalf of the client.
Ensuring relevant codes, standards and procedures are observed by the EPC contractors
during engineering phase. Then on to witness Integrated Factory and Site Acceptance
Testing of hardware and software to accept on client’s behalf (SAT). Successfully
supervising the installation and commissioning of same equipment. Finally reviewing and
accepting all as built documentation, prior to acceptance and handover to client. Systems
included Honeywell’s TPS, Experion PKS, SM, PHD and AAMS, GE’s MkVIe and
MkVIe(s), Invensys Triconex, Bently Nevada, CCC Compressor Controls.
• Jan 2001 – Jan 2003: Solvay Polyolefins Lillo, Belgium
Lead Applications/Control Systems Engineer
 Contracted to Solvay Polyolefins for the DCS activities involving the implementation of
instrumentation and DCS for a third production line in Solvay’s Polyethelene Plant.
Initially composing control narratives and Detailed functional Specifications from process
descriptions, for customer approval. Defining loop typicals and Graphic layouts and
interfaces for process personnel. Then the implementation of the control schemes and
schematic on Honeywell’s TPS. Then on to successfully complete the commissioning of
the new line. Follow up support for Process Engineers through the initial running of the
plant systems.
• October 1999 – Dec. 2000 Honeywell IACD NL13 Geleen, Netherlands
Applications/Control Systems Engineer
 Contracted to Honeywell for the DCS activities involving two boiler re-vamps for DSM.
Implementation centred around Honeywell’s TPS builder. Defining and implementing
standard typical loops, (HPM and SMM) network configuration and designing loop
strategies. Completed a side project involving the introduction of one EPLCG for DSM’s
AFA3 plant. Reconfiguration of the system for online addition of gateway and Extrel Mass
Spectrometers.

• April 1998 – July 1999 Honeywell IACD JUBAIL, Saudi Arabia
Project Manager/Lead Engineer
 Contracted to Honeywell Turki Arabia Ltd. for the activities for the SADAF CIE upgrade
project. Client migrated to a new TPS including the latest Honeywell GUS stations from
their existing stand alone Hiway Based system. APP and PHD implementation activities
were also required. Active role was played in delivering the pre-determined foundation for
template sub-pictures and further standardisation of the SADAF schematics for both
hiway and UCN (Earlier Project) based controllers. Driving a team of Engineers and
Technicians on the setting up of the new hardware and co-ordination of primary
installation activities and writing Hot Cut-over, FAT and SAT procedures. All activities
completed with commendation from the Client SADAF.
 Driving Honeywell’s Y2k effort for clients in Kingdom.
 Raytheon/Badger Styrene Expansion Project. Addition of extra Gus Stations and HPM’s.
Configuration of extra control loops and Gus graphics.
 Driving the HTAL quality system with a view to achieve ISO 9000 certification
• Aug. 1997 – April 1998 ABB Forstar, Sydney, Australia
Project Manager
 Contracted to ABB ForStar to run two projects for their Non Franchise Energy Trading
System. Based in Energy Australia’s head office, responsible to drive a team of Analysts
and Programmers to implement and adapt the product to the client’s requirement for
trading in the new contestable electricity markets for, both electrical retailers, Energy
Australia and Northpower. Main Database being Oracle and applications written in
Delphi2.
• Jul. 1996 – Aug 1997 Honeywell IACD Jubail, Saudi Arabia
Project Manager/Lead Engineer
• Contracted to Honeywell Turki Arabia Ltd. For the activities for two projects on the
utilities units for the client SABIC. Duties include the client interface activities and
consultation for a burner management upgrade project involving five Triconix version 9
TMR critical process controllers. Supervision of the implementation, checking and
factory acceptance of the logic and system interfacing to Honeywell’s DCS. The second
project included the upgrade and rationalisation of the combustion and boiler feedwater
control system from existing hiway based controllers to new UCN based APM’s.
Supervision of site activities during installation and commissioning on live plant with no
plant outages. (Customer endorsement available if required)
• Aug. 1995 – Jul. 1996 Honeywell IACD Bracknell, UK
Applications Engineer
• Contracted to Honeywell for the design and implementation of AM applications for the
Texaco Captain Wellhead Protector Platform and Floating Production Storage and Off-
loading Vessel. Factory Acceptance for the Wellheads Production and Test Manifolds
completed satisfactorily.
• Completion of design for the second phase of the project involving, Well Testing,
Production and Test Separation Applications and Implementation of several diverse
Stop/Start, Duty/Standby routines for the numerous pumping facilities on board.
Offshore reporting functions implemented in the AM and handed onshore to the Texaco
LAN using PCNM.

• Feb. 1995 – Aug. 1995 Honeywell IACD Amsterdam,
Netherlands
Applications Engineer
• Contracted to Honeywell for the implementation of a Batch Automation project for SHELL
within their EPIKOTE Plant. Coding and testing of CL APM sequences complying with
the Joint HONEYWELL SHELL CLASS2 software structure. Implementation of levels
two, three and four of Honeywell's Modular Batch Application package. (Level one is not
a requirement within this structure).
• FAT for phases 1 (Area 02) and 2 (Area 01) completed ahead of schedule and to the
customer’s complete satisfaction.
• Jun. 1994 – Jan. 1995 Honeywell PACE Brussels Belgium
Applications Engineer
• Contracted to Honeywell BE02 for the Implementation of a Batch Automation project for
BP Chemicals WINGLES France. Implementation activities carried out under the SP80
batch automation banner. Functional Specification and Detailed Functional/Design
Specification and Coding. The job entailed the adaptation of Honeywell's BATCH
SUPERVISOR Application package and the implementation of the 3 Levels of the
Programme using template CL BPO and SDC template files.
• Mar. 1993 - May 1994 Honeywell IACD Rotterdam,
Netherlands
Instrument Engineer
• Contracted to Honeywell NL01 as Site Representative for the Site Acceptance Tests of a
DCS system comprising LCN and UCN (APM) equipment utilising Honeywell's new GI/IS
Field Terminal Assemblies.
• Then as a member of a joint Nerefco/Honeywell compatibility team assessing the
interface between the new DCS equipment and the old field instrumentation.
• Jul. 1989 – Feb. 1993 Honeywell PACE, Brussels, Belgium
Project Engineer
• Contracted to Honeywell by PECOM TECHNOLOGIES for the configuration and
implementation of T.D.C. Control Systems. Duties included working within Honeywell's
Total Quality Management System to ISO 9001(BS 5750) for supervision of the
manufacturing, factory acceptance testing and integration of system plus custom
software and dispatch of equipment to the various Honeywell Affiliates throughout
Europe America and the Middle East.

Instrument Commissioning Engineer
• Contracted to BP Chemicals for the inspection and commissioning of a Honeywell TDC
3000 system as per checkout manual S.W. 20-110. Full staging tests to prove the
functionality of Extended Controller algorithms, H.L.P.I.U. and L.E.P.I.U. system tests
including un-interruptable automatic control, reserve extended controller director back-
up, highway branch tests and local control network cable test.

Experience • Feb 2003–Feb 2015: Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction ADGAS. Abu Dhabi, UAE Snr. Control and Safety Systems Engineering Consultant (PMC)  Contracted as SCSE consultant to the client Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Co. for the PMC activities involving two Controls Systems Upgrade Projects and one Greenfields project namely the Integrated Gas Development Project (IGD), on Das Island. Initially reviewing Front End Engineering Design documents, CONSOP and HAZOP reviews. Preparation of ITB documents and participating in value engineering, PHSER and task risk assessment and SIL workshops (SHELL RRM and SIFPRO databases). Then actively reviewing and approving specifications and procedures, Conceptual and Detailed Design Specifications and Control Narratives and schemes on behalf of the client. Ensuring relevant codes, standards and procedures are observed by the EPC contractors during engineering phase. Then on to witness Integrated Factory and Site Acceptance Testing of hardware and software to accept on client’s behalf (SAT). Successfully supervising the installation and commissioning of same equipment. Finally reviewing and accepting all as built documentation, prior to acceptance and handover to client. Systems included Honeywell’s TPS, Experion PKS, SM, PHD and AAMS, GE’s MkVIe and MkVIe(s), Invensys Triconex, Bently Nevada, CCC Compressor Controls. • Jan 2001 – Jan 2003: Solvay Polyolefins Lillo, Belgium Lead Applications/Control Systems Engineer  Contracted to Solvay Polyolefins for the DCS activities involving the implementation of instrumentation and DCS for a third production line in Solvay’s Polyethelene Plant. Initially composing control narratives and Detailed functional Specifications from process descriptions, for customer approval. Defining loop typicals and Graphic layouts and interfaces for process personnel. Then the implementation of the control schemes and schematic on Honeywell’s TPS. Then on to successfully complete the commissioning of the new line. Follow up support for Process Engineers through the initial running of the plant systems. • October 1999 – Dec. 2000 Honeywell IACD NL13 Geleen, Netherlands Applications/Control Systems Engineer  Contracted to Honeywell for the DCS activities involving two boiler re-vamps for DSM. Implementation centred around Honeywell’s TPS builder. Defining and implementing standard typical loops, (HPM and SMM) network configuration and designing loop strategies. Completed a side project involving the introduction of one EPLCG for DSM’s AFA3 plant. Reconfiguration of the system for online addition of gateway and Extrel Mass Spectrometers. Boyle/CV Page 1 of 5
  • 2. • April 1998 – July 1999 Honeywell IACD JUBAIL, Saudi Arabia Project Manager/Lead Engineer  Contracted to Honeywell Turki Arabia Ltd. for the activities for the SADAF CIE upgrade project. Client migrated to a new TPS including the latest Honeywell GUS stations from their existing stand alone Hiway Based system. APP and PHD implementation activities were also required. Active role was played in delivering the pre-determined foundation for template sub-pictures and further standardisation of the SADAF schematics for both hiway and UCN (Earlier Project) based controllers. Driving a team of Engineers and Technicians on the setting up of the new hardware and co-ordination of primary installation activities and writing Hot Cut-over, FAT and SAT procedures. All activities completed with commendation from the Client SADAF.  Driving Honeywell’s Y2k effort for clients in Kingdom.  Raytheon/Badger Styrene Expansion Project. Addition of extra Gus Stations and HPM’s. Configuration of extra control loops and Gus graphics.  Driving the HTAL quality system with a view to achieve ISO 9000 certification • Aug. 1997 – April 1998 ABB Forstar, Sydney, Australia Project Manager  Contracted to ABB ForStar to run two projects for their Non Franchise Energy Trading System. Based in Energy Australia’s head office, responsible to drive a team of Analysts and Programmers to implement and adapt the product to the client’s requirement for trading in the new contestable electricity markets for, both electrical retailers, Energy Australia and Northpower. Main Database being Oracle and applications written in Delphi2. • Jul. 1996 – Aug 1997 Honeywell IACD Jubail, Saudi Arabia Project Manager/Lead Engineer • Contracted to Honeywell Turki Arabia Ltd. For the activities for two projects on the utilities units for the client SABIC. Duties include the client interface activities and consultation for a burner management upgrade project involving five Triconix version 9 TMR critical process controllers. Supervision of the implementation, checking and factory acceptance of the logic and system interfacing to Honeywell’s DCS. The second project included the upgrade and rationalisation of the combustion and boiler feedwater control system from existing hiway based controllers to new UCN based APM’s. Supervision of site activities during installation and commissioning on live plant with no plant outages. (Customer endorsement available if required) • Aug. 1995 – Jul. 1996 Honeywell IACD Bracknell, UK Applications Engineer • Contracted to Honeywell for the design and implementation of AM applications for the Texaco Captain Wellhead Protector Platform and Floating Production Storage and Off- loading Vessel. Factory Acceptance for the Wellheads Production and Test Manifolds completed satisfactorily. • Completion of design for the second phase of the project involving, Well Testing, Production and Test Separation Applications and Implementation of several diverse Stop/Start, Duty/Standby routines for the numerous pumping facilities on board.   • 3. • Feb. 1995 – Aug. 1995 Honeywell IACD Amsterdam, Netherlands Applications Engineer • Contracted to Honeywell for the implementation of a Batch Automation project for SHELL within their EPIKOTE Plant. Coding and testing of CL APM sequences complying with the Joint HONEYWELL SHELL CLASS2 software structure. Implementation of levels two, three and four of Honeywell's Modular Batch Application package. (Level one is not a requirement within this structure). • FAT for phases 1 (Area 02) and 2 (Area 01) completed ahead of schedule and to the customer’s complete satisfaction. • Jun. 1994 – Jan. 1995 Honeywell PACE Brussels Belgium Applications Engineer • Contracted to Honeywell BE02 for the Implementation of a Batch Automation project for BP Chemicals WINGLES France. Implementation activities carried out under the SP80 batch automation banner. Functional Specification and Detailed Functional/Design Specification and Coding. The job entailed the adaptation of Honeywell's BATCH SUPERVISOR Application package and the implementation of the 3 Levels of the Programme using template CL BPO and SDC template files. • Mar. 1993 - May 1994 Honeywell IACD Rotterdam, Netherlands Instrument Engineer • Contracted to Honeywell NL01 as Site Representative for the Site Acceptance Tests of a DCS system comprising LCN and UCN (APM) equipment utilising Honeywell's new GI/IS Field Terminal Assemblies. • Then as a member of a joint Nerefco/Honeywell compatibility team assessing the interface between the new DCS equipment and the old field instrumentation. • Jul. 1989 – Feb. 1993 Honeywell PACE, Brussels, Belgium Project Engineer • Contracted to Honeywell by PECOM TECHNOLOGIES for the configuration and implementation of T.D.C. Control Systems. Duties included working within Honeywell's Total Quality Management System to ISO 9001(BS 5750) for supervision of the manufacturing, factory acceptance testing and integration of system plus custom software and dispatch of equipment to the various Honeywell Affiliates throughout Europe America and the Middle East. • Jun. 1988 – Jun. 1989 B.P. Chemicals, Antwerp Belgium Instrument Commissioning Engineer • Contracted to BP Chemicals for the inspection and commissioning of a Honeywell TDC 3000 system as per checkout manual S.W. 20-110. Full staging tests to prove the functionality of Extended Controller algorithms, H.L.P.I.U. and L.E.P.I.U. system tests including un-interruptable automatic control, reserve extended controller director back- up, highway branch tests and local control network cable test. • Jan. 1988 – May 1988 Marathon Oil Aberdeen, Scotland Instrument Inspector • Contracted to Marathon Oil for the inspection, calibration, loop-checks, system test and commissioning of new Gas Compression Module for import and export condensate on MARATHON OIL's BRAE ALPHA production platform..
