Books in an infant area is reading to
babies , contributes to the
development of their growing brains ,
gives them a good start towards a
lifelong love for reading and good
literature. When you read to an infant
it helps build language development
as they are taking in information and
learning speech patterns.

Books provides toddlers with time for quiet calmness;
develop early literacy skills; help child’s brain , social
skills and communication skills. Picture books exposed
children to a wide range of language features and
vocabulary.

Having multicultural books that shows people of religions,
ethnicity, race , geographical area, socioeconomic status.
 Children develop physical, social, and
emotional in language literacy and in thinking
(cognitive) skills.
 Teachers role in facilitating learning is to
make sure the materials are provided .
Teachers observe children’s play to determine
what the are ready to learn and what they
already know. Teachers help them better
grasp materials. As children play , teachers
move about the classroom , joining in
interacting with individuals and small groups.
Teachers facilitate thinking and learning.
The Book Activity area should include books for
infants/toddlers and children with special
needs with books that are diversity in different
religion, race, geographic area, socioeconomic.
Preschool children need 3-5 books from each
category –realistic, factual, fantasy, people and
animals. Infants/toddlers need board or cloth
books with realistic pictures –transportation,
people, animals, routines, and objects. Reading
centers must be organized and easily
accessible. Book activity center need to be
open a substantial portion of the day during the
center operating hours.
Milestones
Social and emotional –teachers can support by
organizing a material rich environment to stimulate
social interactions among children building trusting
relationship (A8, B4)
Approaches to learning – a well-designed intentional
learning environment is one in which teachers play a
key role in facilitating children’s curiosity, exploration
and play, assessing in building on their strengths,
interest, and knowledge (A6, A10)
Language and Literacy- because language is
fundamentally embedded in children’s everyday
teacher’s relationship and experiences play a critical
role facilitating young children’s language and literacy
development by providing enriched language and
print-rich environment , interactions and opportunities
(A8, B10)

 Physical development and health – physical
play includes activities that use physical
movements to allow children to use their
energy and it gives children the chance to
develop gross and fine motor skills , learn new
things and play

When you read to an infant it helps build language development as they are taking in information and learning speech patterns. Picture books exposed children to a wide range of language features and vocabulary. Special needs books are floor level make it visible for Children to see, child friendly Cultural differences books helps stimulate an understanding of diversity in the classroom and help build an understanding of respect for other people from other cultures.

  • 11.  Children develop physical, social, and emotional in language literacy and in thinking (cognitive) skills.
  • 12.  Teachers role in facilitating learning is to make sure the materials are provided . Teachers observe children’s play to determine what the are ready to learn and what they already know. Teachers help them better grasp materials. As children play , teachers move about the classroom , joining in interacting with individuals and small groups. Teachers facilitate thinking and learning.
  • 13. The Book Activity area should include books for infants/toddlers and children with special needs with books that are diversity in different religion, race, geographic area, socioeconomic. Preschool children need 3-5 books from each category –realistic, factual, fantasy, people and animals. Infants/toddlers need board or cloth books with realistic pictures –transportation, people, animals, routines, and objects. Reading centers must be organized and easily accessible. Book activity center need to be open a substantial portion of the day during the center operating hours.

Milestones Social and emotional –teachers can support by organizing a material rich environment to stimulate social interactions among children building trusting relationship (A8, B4) Approaches to learning – a well-designed intentional learning environment is one in which teachers play a key role in facilitating children’s curiosity, exploration and play, assessing in building on their strengths, interest, and knowledge (A6, A10) Language and Literacy- because language is fundamentally embedded in children’s everyday teacher’s relationship and experiences play a critical role facilitating young children’s language and literacy development by providing enriched language and print-rich environment , interactions and opportunities (A8, B10)
