centers. In support of this direction, and to capture
considerable near-term cost reduction opportunities, The
Data Center Modernization project also has the lead
responsibility to phase out data centers and small site server
rooms as new data centers come on line.
Currently working as Project Manager for DCM Mainframe
Retirement Category 1 Project. Providing project plans for
Mainframe Retirement, with critical path by application to
retire the Mainframes and LPARs. Once we have the project
plan build, we add actions identified as possible cost
reductions to the schedule. This gives the Mainframe Team
the information needed to start discussions with the ADM
Leadership Teams on what help is needed to reduce the
Mainframe cost and also improve the retirement date for
Mainframe Environment. Manage detailed project activities
to be sure we meet retirement date that will allow us a cost
savings target of $20M per year by 6/30/2018.
Project Manager of the Server Virtualization Project. Boeing
significantly reduced the distributed server “footprint” by
adopting virtualization technology throughout the enterprise.
Servers supporting development test, and sustaining
application systems (line of business and infrastructure)
migrated onto virtualization technology. This was to support
the enterprise three year target of a 50% reduction in
physical servers 2008 through 2010. We exceeded x86
Server Virtualization Project to the agreed Scope, Time, Cost
and Quality. Cost Savings to the Business 100M, we now
have less physical servers and more VM servers enterprise
wide.
