Urine leaves the bladder and enters the ureters. The kidneys contain over 1 million nephrons that filter blood to form urine. Each nephron contains a Bowman's capsule with glomerulus that filters blood plasma, and a series of tubules (proximal, loop of Henle, distal) where reabsorption and secretion occur. Urine is then collected in the renal pelvis before entering the ureters.
