The Divine Approach vs. Scientism regarding
the development of mankind
 The Divine approach to the development of Mankind is different from the approach of Science. The modern science believes only in
things that can be measured, sensed and observed. The approach of humans that science can address all problems of mankind is called
scientism. Under the modern scientism only material aspect of mankind is taken to be developed and nurtured. But in Islamic
view point the material aspect of human being is one of the four aspects that are:
1. Material
2. Economic
3. Political
4. Ethical
5. Spiritual
6. Intellectual
7. Social
8. Aesthetic/Artistic aspect
Islam takes into consideration the all four aspects of mankind for development. Therefore we can say that the modern science is biasin
its approach with respect to mankind while the divine approach is holistic in its nature. 12/19/2017

Material aspect
 The material aspect of mankind demands development in Material Sciences.
 Material Sciences are those which concern with the material development; like physical
science, biological sciences, astronomical sciences and nutritional sciences. etc.

 The Quranic word َ‫ل‬ ِ‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫و‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ل‬َِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫ب‬ِ‫ي‬َّ‫الط‬ denotes that The Prophet Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬had used to
make things permissible which were pure and healthy for the physical development
of human being if it were made not permissible by the previous law.
 The Quranic word َُ‫م‬ ِ‫ر‬‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫و‬َُ‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬‫ث‬ِ‫ئ‬‫ا‬‫ب‬‫خ‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ and was also making things not permissible if it were
harmful to the physical development of mankind.
 The Quranic word َ‫و‬َُ‫ع‬‫ض‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ع‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ص‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ل‬‫َل‬‫أ‬‫غ‬ ‫أ‬‫اْل‬‫و‬‫ي‬ِ‫ت‬َّ‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ان‬‫ك‬َِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ tells us that the Prophet
Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬ had freed mankind from the unnecessary fitters and chains that
were hurdle in either physical development in the case Halal and Haram or
spiritual development of mankind. That is why his Nabbuwah is declared as a
special bestow upon the manhood.

Spiritual aspect
 The spiritual aspect denotes not only the inner world of human being. The
foremost duty of the Prophet Muhammad was to develop the spiritual aspect of
mankind:
َ‫أ‬‫د‬‫ق‬‫ل‬ََّ‫ن‬‫م‬َُ َّ‫اّلل‬‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ذ‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ث‬‫ع‬‫ب‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫يه‬ِ‫ف‬ًَ‫ُول‬‫س‬‫ر‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َ‫أ‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ِه‬‫س‬ُ‫ف‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َِ‫ه‬ِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫آي‬‫ي‬ِ‫ك‬‫ُز‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ُع‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫اب‬‫ت‬ِ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ال‬

 From the aforementioned verse of the Quran we conclude:
 The words ‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َِ‫ه‬ِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫آي‬ and َ‫و‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ُع‬‫ي‬‫اب‬‫ت‬ِ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ indicate the spiritual development.

Spiritual aspect

 In the aforementioned verse (08:02) the Quranic words َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫اد‬‫ز‬‫ا‬ً‫ن‬‫ا‬‫يم‬ِ‫إ‬ denote the
spiritual development and similarly the word َ‫اء‬‫ف‬ِ‫ش‬ and َ‫و‬َ‫اء‬‫ف‬ِ‫ش‬‫ا‬‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ي‬ِ‫ف‬َِ‫ور‬ُ‫د‬‫الص‬َُ‫ه‬‫و‬‫ى‬ً‫د‬

Intellectual aspect

 The Quranic word َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬‫و‬ denotes the intellectual development of mankind.
 The word (َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫)ال‬ Hikmah stands for wisdom as other verses of the Quran tells us:

 The Prophets were the first bearer of wisdom and they were the most intellectual
persons of Allah as mentioned in the Quran About Dawood (David) the Prophet of
Allah the Quran says:
‫ا‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫د‬‫د‬‫ش‬‫و‬َُ‫ه‬‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫آت‬‫و‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ص‬‫ف‬‫و‬َِ‫ب‬‫ا‬‫ط‬ ِ‫خ‬‫أ‬‫ال‬(38:20)
 About Luqman (A.S)Quran says:

Intellectual aspect
 For the intellectual development, the Quran has addressed the intellectual faculty
of mankind to think over the creation of universe and on the sings of Allah in
himself. The words al- dhikr (‫,)الذکر‬ al- albab (‫,)االلباب‬ ta’qul ( ،‫تعقلون‬‫یعقلون‬ ),
Tadabbur (‫,)یتدبرون‬ Tafakkur (‫,)یتفکرون‬ Tebyaan (‫)یتبین‬ and Yubsiroon (‫)یبصرون‬ all
are used to address the human intellect some verses are:
‫وا‬ُ‫ل‬‫أأ‬‫س‬‫ا‬‫ف‬َ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ه‬‫أ‬َِ‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ِ‫الذ‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ُ‫ك‬َ‫ل‬َ‫ون‬ُ‫م‬‫أل‬‫ع‬‫ت‬(16:43)

 There are several Ahadith of the Prophet Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬which tell us about the
intelligence and wisdom of a Muslim:

 A Muslim is always innovative in his thinking and planning as the 2nd Caliph
Hazrat Umar bin al- Khattaab and many other Muslims were:

 The following Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬

‫یذل‬‫نفسه‬‫؟‬‫قال‬:"‫یتعرض‬‫من‬‫البالء‬‫لما‬‫ال‬‫یطیق‬"‫رواه‬‫الترمذي‬‫وابن‬‫ماجه‬‫والبیهقي‬‫في‬‫شعب‬‫اإلیمان‬.
‫حضرت‬‫حذیفہ‬(‫رض‬)‫راوی‬‫ہیں‬‫کہ‬‫رسول‬‫کریم‬(‫صلی‬‫ہللا‬‫علیہ‬‫وآلہ‬‫وسلم‬)‫نے‬‫ف‬‫رمایا‬
‫مومن‬‫کے‬‫لئے‬‫مناسب‬‫نہیں‬‫ہے‬‫کہ‬‫وہ‬‫اپنے‬‫آپ‬‫کو‬‫ذلیل‬‫و‬‫خوار‬‫کرے۔‬‫صحابہ‬‫نے‬
‫عرض‬‫کیا‬‫کہ‬‫اپنے‬‫آپ‬‫کو‬‫ذلیل‬‫و‬‫خوار‬‫کس‬‫طرح‬‫کرتا‬‫ہے۔‬‫آپ‬(‫صلی‬‫ہللا‬‫علیہ‬‫وآ‬‫لہ‬
‫وسلم‬)‫نے‬‫فرمایا‬‫ایسی‬‫بالئیں‬‫اپنے‬‫سر‬‫لے‬‫لے‬‫جس‬‫کی‬‫وہ‬‫طاقت‬‫نہیں‬‫رکھتا‬‫۔‬

‫کتاب‬‫کے‬‫فن‬‫سے‬‫ناواقف‬‫ہو‬‫اور‬‫ایسے‬‫امور‬‫اپنے‬‫ذمہ‬‫لے‬‫لے‬‫جن‬‫کا‬‫تعلق‬‫حساب‬
‫کتاب‬‫سے‬‫ہو‬‫تو‬‫ظاہر‬‫ہے‬‫کہ‬‫وہ‬‫ذمہ‬‫داری‬‫کو‬‫پورا‬‫نہیں‬‫کرسکے‬،‫گا‬‫جس‬‫کا‬‫نتیج‬‫ہ‬
‫اپنی‬‫خواری‬‫و‬‫سبکی‬‫کے‬‫عالوہ‬‫اور‬‫کیا‬‫نکلے‬‫گا۔‬‫چنانچہ‬‫یہ‬‫ارشاد‬‫گرامی‬‫مسلما‬‫نوں‬

 The word َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫يه‬ِ‫ك‬‫ُز‬‫ي‬‫و‬ denotes the social cleansings and development and the last part
َ‫ين‬ِ‫ب‬ُ‫م‬َ‫ل‬‫َل‬‫يَض‬ِ‫ف‬‫َُل‬‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ب‬‫َق‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫واَم‬ُ‫ن‬‫ا‬‫َك‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬‫و‬(3:164) of the verse tells us that how much the society
was uncivilized in the Prophet Muhammad (‫ﷺ‬) was sent.

َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬(07:157)
 In the aforementioned verse the words: َِ‫ن‬‫َع‬‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ي‬‫َو‬ِ‫وف‬ُ‫أر‬‫ع‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫ر‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫أ‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫ال‬َِ‫ر‬‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ُ‫م‬ stand for
social development. The Prophets (A.S) were held responsible to forbid people
from uncustomary acts and to persuade them to do customary and good deeds.
Islam stresses on social development in these words:
َ‫َم‬ ‫وأ‬‫َأ‬‫ة‬‫ق‬‫د‬‫ص‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫ر‬‫م‬‫َأ‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫َم‬ َّ‫ل‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫و‬‫أ‬‫ج‬‫َن‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫َم‬‫ير‬ِ‫ث‬‫يَك‬ِ‫ف‬َ‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َخ‬‫ل‬َ‫ع‬‫أ‬‫ف‬‫َي‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫م‬‫َو‬ ِ‫اس‬َّ‫ن‬‫َال‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َب‬‫ح‬‫َل‬‫أ‬‫ص‬ِ‫إ‬َ ‫وأ‬‫َأ‬‫وف‬ُ‫أر‬‫ع‬َ‫اء‬‫غ‬ِ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ب‬‫َا‬‫ك‬ِ‫ل‬‫َذ‬‫أ‬‫ل‬
َ‫ا‬ً‫م‬‫ي‬ِ‫ظ‬‫اَع‬ً‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ج‬‫َأ‬ِ‫ه‬‫ي‬ِ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫ن‬َ‫ف‬ ‫وأ‬‫س‬‫َف‬ِ َّ‫َِاّلل‬‫ت‬‫ا‬‫ض‬‫رأ‬‫م‬(04:114)
 The Prophet Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬ was order to promote social relations among the
earlier Muslims and to convince them on be social in all dealings:
َ‫َل‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ىَأ‬‫ل‬‫َع‬‫ك‬‫أن‬‫ع‬ِ‫ي‬‫ا‬‫ُب‬‫ي‬َُ‫ات‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫َال‬‫ك‬‫اء‬‫اَج‬‫ذ‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ي‬ِ‫ب‬َّ‫ن‬‫اَال‬‫ه‬‫ي‬‫اَأ‬‫ي‬َ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ق‬ ِ‫أر‬‫س‬‫َي‬‫ل‬‫اَو‬ً‫ئ‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َش‬ِ َّ‫اّلل‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ش‬ُ‫ي‬ََ‫و‬َ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ُ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ق‬‫َي‬‫ل‬‫َو‬‫ين‬ِ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ز‬‫َي‬‫ل‬

Bias of Science with respect to the development of Mankind

  • 2. The Divine Approach vs. Scientism regarding the development of mankind  The Divine approach to the development of Mankind is different from the approach of Science. The modern science believes only in things that can be measured, sensed and observed. The approach of humans that science can address all problems of mankind is called scientism. Under the modern scientism only material aspect of mankind is taken to be developed and nurtured. But in Islamic view point the material aspect of human being is one of the four aspects that are: 1. Material 2. Economic 3. Political 4. Ethical 5. Spiritual 6. Intellectual 7. Social 8. Aesthetic/Artistic aspect Islam takes into consideration the all four aspects of mankind for development. Therefore we can say that the modern science is biasin its approach with respect to mankind while the divine approach is holistic in its nature. 12/19/2017 2

Material aspect  The material aspect of mankind demands development in Material Sciences.  Material Sciences are those which concern with the material development; like physical science, biological sciences, astronomical sciences and nutritional sciences. etc. َ‫ِين‬‫ذ‬َّ‫ال‬َ‫ُون‬‫ع‬ِ‫ب‬َّ‫ت‬‫ي‬َ‫ُول‬‫س‬َّ‫الر‬ََّ‫ي‬ِ‫ب‬َّ‫ن‬‫ال‬ََّ‫ي‬ِ‫م‬ُ ‫أ‬‫اْل‬‫ِي‬‫ذ‬َّ‫ال‬َُ‫ه‬‫ون‬ُ‫د‬ ِ‫ج‬‫ي‬َُ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ك‬‫م‬‫ًا‬‫ب‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫د‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫ع‬‫ي‬ِ‫ف‬َِ‫ة‬‫ا‬‫ر‬ ‫وأ‬َّ‫ت‬‫ال‬َِ‫ل‬‫ي‬ ِ‫ج‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫أ‬‫اْل‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫ر‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫أ‬‫ي‬َِ‫ب‬َِ‫وف‬ُ‫أر‬‫ع‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ي‬‫و‬َِ‫ن‬‫ع‬ َِ‫ر‬‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫ل‬ ِ‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫و‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ل‬َِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫ب‬ِ‫ي‬َّ‫الط‬َُ‫م‬ ِ‫ر‬‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫و‬َُ‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َِ‫ئ‬‫ا‬‫ب‬‫خ‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫ث‬َُ‫ع‬‫ض‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ع‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ص‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ل‬‫َل‬‫أ‬‫غ‬ ‫أ‬‫اْل‬‫و‬‫ي‬ِ‫ت‬َّ‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ان‬‫ك‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬(07:157)  The Quranic word َ‫ل‬ ِ‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫و‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ل‬َِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫ب‬ِ‫ي‬َّ‫الط‬ denotes that The Prophet Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬had used to make things permissible which were pure and healthy for the physical development of human being if it were made not permissible by the previous law.  The Quranic word َُ‫م‬ ِ‫ر‬‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫و‬َُ‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬‫ث‬ِ‫ئ‬‫ا‬‫ب‬‫خ‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ and was also making things not permissible if it were harmful to the physical development of mankind.  The Quranic word َ‫و‬َُ‫ع‬‫ض‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ع‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ص‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ل‬‫َل‬‫أ‬‫غ‬ ‫أ‬‫اْل‬‫و‬‫ي‬ِ‫ت‬َّ‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ان‬‫ك‬َِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ tells us that the Prophet Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬ had freed mankind from the unnecessary fitters and chains that were hurdle in either physical development in the case Halal and Haram or spiritual development of mankind.   • 4. Spiritual aspect  The spiritual aspect denotes not only the inner world of human being. The foremost duty of the Prophet Muhammad was to develop the spiritual aspect of mankind: َ‫أ‬‫د‬‫ق‬‫ل‬ََّ‫ن‬‫م‬َُ َّ‫اّلل‬‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ذ‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ث‬‫ع‬‫ب‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫يه‬ِ‫ف‬ًَ‫ُول‬‫س‬‫ر‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َ‫أ‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ِه‬‫س‬ُ‫ف‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َِ‫ه‬ِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫آي‬‫ي‬ِ‫ك‬‫ُز‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ُع‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫اب‬‫ت‬ِ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬‫و‬‫وا‬ُ‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ك‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َُ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ب‬‫ق‬‫ي‬ِ‫ف‬‫ل‬َ‫ل‬‫َل‬‫ض‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫ب‬ُ‫م‬(3:164)  From the aforementioned verse of the Quran we conclude:  The words ‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َِ‫ه‬ِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫آي‬ and َ‫و‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ُع‬‫ي‬‫اب‬‫ت‬ِ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ indicate the spiritual development. 12/19/2017 4

Spiritual aspect ‫ا‬‫م‬َّ‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ون‬ُ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫ِين‬‫ذ‬َّ‫ال‬َِ‫إ‬‫ا‬‫ذ‬َ‫ر‬ِ‫ك‬ُ‫ذ‬َُ َّ‫اّلل‬َ‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ل‬ ِ‫ج‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫ب‬‫و‬ُ‫ل‬ُ‫ق‬َِ‫إ‬‫و‬‫ا‬‫ذ‬َ‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ي‬ِ‫ل‬ُ‫ت‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َُ‫ه‬ُ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫آي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫اد‬‫ز‬‫ا‬ً‫ن‬‫ا‬‫يم‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫و‬‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬ِ‫ب‬‫ر‬َ‫ون‬ُ‫ل‬َّ‫ك‬‫و‬‫ت‬‫ي‬ (08:02) َُ‫ل‬ ِ‫ز‬‫ن‬ُ‫ن‬‫و‬َ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َِ‫آن‬‫رأ‬ُ‫ق‬‫أ‬‫ال‬‫ا‬‫م‬َ‫و‬ُ‫ه‬َ‫اء‬‫ف‬ِ‫ش‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ح‬‫ر‬‫و‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ِ‫ل‬َ‫ل‬‫و‬َُ‫د‬‫ي‬ ِ‫ز‬‫ي‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ا‬َّ‫الظ‬ََّ‫ل‬ِ‫إ‬‫ا‬ً‫ار‬‫س‬‫خ‬(17:82) ‫ا‬‫ي‬‫ا‬‫ه‬‫ي‬‫أ‬َُ‫اس‬َّ‫ن‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫د‬‫ق‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫اء‬‫ج‬َ‫ة‬‫ظ‬ِ‫ع‬ ‫وأ‬‫م‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ك‬ِ‫ب‬‫ر‬َ‫اء‬‫ف‬ِ‫ش‬‫و‬َِ‫ل‬‫ا‬‫م‬‫ي‬ِ‫ف‬َِ‫ور‬ُ‫د‬‫الص‬‫ى‬ً‫د‬ُ‫ه‬‫و‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ح‬‫ر‬‫و‬‫ي‬ِ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ِ‫ل‬َ‫ن‬(10:57)  In the aforementioned verse (08:02) the Quranic words َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫اد‬‫ز‬‫ا‬ً‫ن‬‫ا‬‫يم‬ِ‫إ‬ denote the spiritual development and similarly the word َ‫اء‬‫ف‬ِ‫ش‬ and َ‫و‬َ‫اء‬‫ف‬ِ‫ش‬‫ا‬‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ي‬ِ‫ف‬َِ‫ور‬ُ‫د‬‫الص‬َُ‫ه‬‫و‬‫ى‬ً‫د‬ َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ح‬‫ر‬‫و‬ indicate the spiritual development 12/19/2017 5

Intellectual aspect َ‫أ‬‫د‬‫ق‬‫ل‬ََّ‫ن‬‫م‬َُ َّ‫اّلل‬‫ى‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ذ‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ث‬‫ع‬‫ب‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫يه‬ِ‫ف‬ًَ‫ُول‬‫س‬‫ر‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َ‫أ‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ِه‬‫س‬ُ‫ف‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬َِ‫ه‬ِ‫ت‬‫ا‬‫آي‬‫ي‬ِ‫ك‬‫ُز‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬َُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫م‬ِ‫ل‬‫ُع‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫اب‬‫ت‬ِ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ َ‫و‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬‫و‬‫وا‬ُ‫ن‬‫ا‬‫ك‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َُ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ب‬‫ق‬‫ي‬ِ‫ف‬‫ل‬َ‫ل‬‫َل‬‫ض‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫ب‬ُ‫م‬(3:164)  The Quranic word َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬‫و‬ denotes the intellectual development of mankind.  The word (َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫)ال‬ Hikmah stands for wisdom as other verses of the Quran tells us: ‫ي‬ِ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ُؤ‬‫ي‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬‫م‬َُ‫ء‬‫ا‬‫ش‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬‫م‬‫و‬َ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ُؤ‬‫ي‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫أ‬‫د‬‫ق‬‫ف‬َ‫ي‬ِ‫ت‬‫و‬ُ‫أ‬َ‫خ‬‫ا‬ً‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ا‬ً‫ير‬ِ‫ث‬‫ك‬‫ا‬‫م‬‫و‬َُ‫ر‬َّ‫ك‬َّ‫ذ‬‫ي‬ََّ‫ل‬ِ‫إ‬‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫و‬ُ‫أ‬َ‫أ‬‫ل‬ ‫أ‬‫اْل‬َِ‫ب‬‫ا‬‫ب‬(02:269) َ‫ك‬ِ‫ل‬‫ذ‬‫ا‬َّ‫م‬ِ‫م‬‫ى‬‫ح‬ ‫وأ‬‫أ‬َ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ك‬‫ب‬‫ر‬َ‫ن‬ِ‫م‬َِ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫ل‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫ل‬‫ع‬‫أ‬‫ج‬‫ت‬َ‫ع‬‫م‬َِ َّ‫اّلل‬‫ًا‬‫ه‬‫ل‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ر‬‫آخ‬‫ى‬‫ق‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ُ‫ت‬‫ف‬‫ي‬ِ‫ف‬َ‫م‬َّ‫ن‬‫ه‬‫ج‬‫ا‬ً‫م‬‫و‬ُ‫ل‬‫م‬َ‫م‬‫ا‬ً‫ُور‬‫ح‬‫أ‬‫د‬(17:39)  The Prophets were the first bearer of wisdom and they were the most intellectual persons of Allah as mentioned in the Quran About Dawood (David) the Prophet of Allah the Quran says: ‫ا‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫د‬‫د‬‫ش‬‫و‬َُ‫ه‬‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫آت‬‫و‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َ‫ل‬‫أ‬‫ص‬‫ف‬‫و‬َِ‫ب‬‫ا‬‫ط‬ ِ‫خ‬‫أ‬‫ال‬(38:20)  About Luqman (A.S)Quran says: َ‫أ‬‫د‬‫ق‬‫ل‬‫و‬‫ا‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫آت‬َ‫ان‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ق‬ُ‫ل‬َ‫ة‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ح‬‫أ‬‫ال‬َِ‫ن‬‫أ‬َ‫رأ‬ُ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ش‬‫ا‬َِ َّ ِ‫ّلل‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬‫م‬‫و‬َ‫رأ‬ُ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ش‬‫ي‬‫ا‬‫م‬َّ‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬‫ف‬َُ‫ر‬ُ‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ش‬‫ي‬َِ‫ه‬ِ‫س‬‫أ‬‫ف‬‫ن‬ِ‫ل‬َ‫أ‬‫ن‬‫م‬‫و‬َ‫ر‬‫ف‬‫ك‬ََّ‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬‫ف‬ََّ‫اّلل‬َ‫ي‬ِ‫ن‬‫غ‬َ‫يد‬ِ‫م‬‫ح‬(31:12) 6
  • 7. Intellectual aspect  For the intellectual development, the Quran has addressed the intellectual faculty of mankind to think over the creation of universe and on the sings of Allah in himself. Intellectual aspect ‫وعن‬‫حذیفة‬‫قال‬:‫قال‬‫رسول‬‫هللا‬‫صلى‬‫هللا‬‫علیه‬‫و‬‫سلم‬:"‫ال‬‫ینبغي‬‫للمؤمن‬‫أن‬‫یذل‬‫نفسه‬".‫قال‬‫وا‬:‫وكیف‬ ‫یذل‬‫نفسه‬‫؟‬‫قال‬:"‫یتعرض‬‫من‬‫البالء‬‫لما‬‫ال‬‫یطیق‬"‫رواه‬‫الترمذي‬‫وابن‬‫ماجه‬‫والبیهقي‬‫في‬‫شعب‬‫اإلیمان‬. ‫حضرت‬‫حذیفہ‬(‫رض‬)‫راوی‬‫ہیں‬‫کہ‬‫رسول‬‫کریم‬(‫صلی‬‫ہللا‬‫علیہ‬‫وآلہ‬‫وسلم‬)‫نے‬‫ف‬‫رمایا‬ ‫مومن‬‫کے‬‫لئے‬‫مناسب‬‫نہیں‬‫ہے‬‫کہ‬‫وہ‬‫اپنے‬‫آپ‬‫کو‬‫ذلیل‬‫و‬‫خوار‬‫کرے۔‬‫صحابہ‬‫نے‬ ‫عرض‬‫کیا‬‫کہ‬‫اپنے‬‫آپ‬‫کو‬‫ذلیل‬‫و‬‫خوار‬‫کس‬‫طرح‬‫کرتا‬‫ہے۔‬‫آپ‬(‫صلی‬‫ہللا‬‫علیہ‬‫وآ‬‫لہ‬ ‫وسلم‬)‫نے‬‫فرمایا‬‫ایسی‬‫بالئیں‬‫اپنے‬‫سر‬‫لے‬‫لے‬‫جس‬‫کی‬‫وہ‬‫طاقت‬‫نہیں‬‫رکھتا‬‫۔‬ ‫تشریح‬:‫یہ‬‫بات‬‫مومن‬‫کی‬‫فراست‬‫کے‬‫منافی‬‫ہے‬‫کہ‬‫وہ‬‫ایسی‬‫چیز‬‫یا‬‫کسی‬‫ایسے‬‫ک‬‫ام‬ ‫کی‬‫ذمہ‬‫داری‬‫قبول‬‫کرے‬‫جو‬‫اس‬‫کی‬‫طاقت‬‫اور‬‫اس‬‫کی‬‫رسائی‬‫سے‬‫باہر‬‫ہو۔‬‫ایسا‬ ‫کرنا‬‫اپنے‬‫آپ‬‫کو‬‫خوار‬‫کرنا‬‫اور‬‫اپنی‬‫سبکی‬‫کرانا‬‫ہے۔‬‫مثال‬‫کوئی‬‫شخص‬‫حساب‬ ‫کتاب‬‫کے‬‫فن‬‫سے‬‫ناواقف‬‫ہو‬‫اور‬‫ایسے‬‫امور‬‫اپنے‬‫ذمہ‬‫لے‬‫لے‬‫جن‬‫کا‬‫تعلق‬‫حساب‬ ‫کتاب‬‫سے‬‫ہو‬‫تو‬‫ظاہر‬‫ہے‬‫کہ‬‫وہ‬‫ذمہ‬‫داری‬‫کو‬‫پورا‬‫نہیں‬‫کرسکے‬،‫گا‬‫جس‬‫کا‬‫نتیج‬‫ہ‬ ‫اپنی‬‫خواری‬‫و‬‫سبکی‬‫کے‬‫عالوہ‬‫اور‬‫کیا‬‫نکلے‬‫گا۔‬‫چنانچہ‬‫یہ‬‫ارشاد‬‫گرامی‬‫مسلما‬‫نوں‬ 12/19/2017 9

  • 11. َ‫ون‬ُ‫د‬ ِ‫ج‬‫ِيَي‬‫ذ‬َّ‫َال‬َّ‫ي‬ِ‫م‬ُ ‫أ‬‫َاْل‬َّ‫ي‬ِ‫ب‬َّ‫ن‬‫َال‬‫ُول‬‫س‬َّ‫َالر‬‫ُون‬‫ع‬ِ‫ب‬َّ‫ت‬‫َي‬‫ِين‬‫ذ‬َّ‫ال‬‫ي‬ ِ‫ج‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫أ‬‫اْل‬‫َو‬ِ‫ة‬‫ا‬‫ر‬ ‫وأ‬َّ‫ت‬‫يَال‬ِ‫ف‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫د‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫ع‬َ‫ًا‬‫ب‬‫و‬ُ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ك‬‫َم‬ُ‫ه‬َِ‫ل‬َِ‫وف‬ُ‫أر‬‫ع‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫ر‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫أ‬‫ي‬ َِ‫ر‬‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫َال‬ِ‫ن‬‫َع‬‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫َع‬ُ‫م‬ ِ‫ر‬‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫َِو‬‫ت‬‫ا‬‫ب‬ِ‫ي‬َّ‫َالط‬ُ‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫َل‬‫ل‬ ِ‫ُح‬‫ي‬‫و‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ص‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫َُع‬‫ع‬‫ض‬‫ي‬‫َو‬‫ث‬ِ‫ئ‬‫ا‬‫ب‬‫خ‬‫أ‬‫َال‬ُ‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬َ ‫أ‬‫ت‬‫ان‬‫يَك‬ِ‫ت‬َّ‫َال‬‫ل‬‫َل‬‫أ‬‫غ‬ ‫أ‬‫اْل‬‫و‬ َ‫أ‬‫م‬ِ‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫ل‬‫ع‬(07:157)  In the aforementioned verse the words: َِ‫ن‬‫َع‬‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ي‬‫َو‬ِ‫وف‬ُ‫أر‬‫ع‬‫م‬‫أ‬‫ال‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬ُ‫ر‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫أ‬‫ي‬َ‫أ‬‫ال‬َِ‫ر‬‫ك‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ُ‫م‬ stand for social development. The Prophets (A.S) were held responsible to forbid people from uncustomary acts and to persuade them to do customary and good deeds. Islam stresses on social development in these words: َ‫َم‬ ‫وأ‬‫َأ‬‫ة‬‫ق‬‫د‬‫ص‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫ر‬‫م‬‫َأ‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫َم‬ َّ‫ل‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫أ‬‫م‬ُ‫ه‬‫ا‬‫و‬‫أ‬‫ج‬‫َن‬‫أ‬‫ن‬ِ‫َم‬‫ير‬ِ‫ث‬‫يَك‬ِ‫ف‬َ‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َخ‬‫ل‬َ‫ع‬‫أ‬‫ف‬‫َي‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫م‬‫َو‬ ِ‫اس‬َّ‫ن‬‫َال‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َب‬‫ح‬‫َل‬‫أ‬‫ص‬ِ‫إ‬َ ‫وأ‬‫َأ‬‫وف‬ُ‫أر‬‫ع‬َ‫اء‬‫غ‬ِ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ب‬‫َا‬‫ك‬ِ‫ل‬‫َذ‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ َ‫ا‬ً‫م‬‫ي‬ِ‫ظ‬‫اَع‬ً‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ج‬‫َأ‬ِ‫ه‬‫ي‬ِ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫ن‬َ‫ف‬ ‫وأ‬‫س‬‫َف‬ِ َّ‫َِاّلل‬‫ت‬‫ا‬‫ض‬‫رأ‬‫م‬(04:114)  The Prophet Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬ was order to promote social relations among the earlier Muslims and to convince them on be social in all dealings: َ‫َل‬‫أ‬‫ن‬‫ىَأ‬‫ل‬‫َع‬‫ك‬‫أن‬‫ع‬ِ‫ي‬‫ا‬‫ُب‬‫ي‬َُ‫ات‬‫ن‬ِ‫م‬‫أ‬‫ؤ‬ُ‫م‬‫أ‬‫َال‬‫ك‬‫اء‬‫اَج‬‫ذ‬ِ‫إ‬َ‫ي‬ِ‫ب‬َّ‫ن‬‫اَال‬‫ه‬‫ي‬‫اَأ‬‫ي‬َ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ق‬ ِ‫أر‬‫س‬‫َي‬‫ل‬‫اَو‬ً‫ئ‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َش‬ِ َّ‫اّلل‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ك‬ ِ‫ر‬‫أ‬‫ش‬ُ‫ي‬ََ‫و‬َ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ل‬ُ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ق‬‫َي‬‫ل‬‫َو‬‫ين‬ِ‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ز‬‫َي‬‫ل‬ َِ‫ِيه‬‫د‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َأ‬‫ن‬‫أ‬‫ي‬‫َب‬ُ‫ه‬‫ين‬ ِ‫ر‬‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ف‬‫َي‬‫ان‬‫ت‬‫أ‬‫ه‬ُ‫ب‬ِ‫ب‬َ‫ين‬ِ‫ت‬‫أ‬‫أ‬‫َي‬‫ل‬‫َو‬َّ‫ن‬ُ‫ه‬‫د‬‫ل‬ ‫وأ‬‫أ‬ََّ‫ن‬ِ‫ه‬ِ‫ل‬ُ‫ج‬‫رأ‬‫أ‬‫َو‬َّ‫ن‬َ‫َف‬‫وف‬ُ‫أر‬‫ع‬‫يَم‬ِ‫ف‬َ‫ك‬‫ين‬ ِ‫أص‬‫ع‬‫َي‬‫ل‬‫و‬ََّ‫ُن‬‫ه‬‫َل‬‫رأ‬ِ‫ف‬‫أ‬‫غ‬‫أت‬‫س‬‫ا‬‫َو‬َّ‫ُن‬‫ه‬‫أ‬‫ع‬ِ‫ي‬‫ا‬‫ب‬ َ َّ‫اّلل‬َ‫يم‬ ِ‫ح‬‫َر‬‫ور‬ُ‫ف‬‫َغ‬ َّ‫َاّلل‬َّ‫ن‬ِ‫إ‬(62:12) Social aspect 12/19/2017 11
