Small cells are Low-powered radio access nodes, Operate in licensed and unlicensed spectrum, Short range mobile phone base stations, Range from very compact residential femto-cells of area 10 meters to larger equipment used inside commercial offices or outdoor public spaces of area 1 or 2 kilometers, "small" compared to a mobile macro cell, with range of a few tens of kilometers, Complements mobile phone service from larger macro cell towers, Offer excellent mobile phone coverage and data speeds at home, in the office and public areas for both voice and data, Developed for both 3G and the newer 4G/LTE radio technologies.
Femto cells are Initially designed for residential and small business use with a short range and a limited number of channels. Femtocell devices use licenced radio spectrum. Femto cells must be operated and controlled by a mobile phone company, One cell with one mobile phone operator. When in range, the mobile phone will detect cell and use it in preference to the larger macrocell sites. Calls are made and received in exactly the same way as macrocell. Except, the signals are sent encrypted from the small cell via the public or private broadband IP network to one of the mobile operators main switching centres.

Seminar Presentation on Femtocell Technology
A femtocell is a small device that is used to improve
wireless coverage over a small area, mostly indoor. It is a small cellular base station, also
called a wireless access point that connects to a broadband Internet connection and broadcasts
it into radio waves in its area of coverage.
It was about Femto cells . When we have a major problems in wireless communication and there is a weak signal received by mobile station , we talk about femto cell which overcome this obstacle and cover a specific area that have the weak signal .
Mobile cellular and 3G networks normally often suffer from poor penetration and reception in certain areas, like indoors. This decreases the quality of voice and video communication and slows down high-speed services. A femtocell is a small device that is used to improve wireless coverage over a small area, mostly indoor. It is a small cellular base station, also called a wireless access point that connects to a broadband Internet connection and broadcasts it into radio waves in its area of coverage. As a result, mobile handsets can handle phone calls through the femtocell, via the broadband Internet connection.
Femtocells, a technology little-known outside the wireless world, promise better indoor cellular service. In telecommunication, a Femtocell is a small cellular base station, typically designed for use in a home or small business. It connects to the service provider’s network via broadband.
Current designs typically support 2 to 4 active mobile phones in a residential setting, and 8 to 16 active mobile phones in enterprise settings. A Femtocell allows service providers to extend service coverage indoors, especially where access would otherwise be limited or unavailable. For a mobile operator, the attractions of a Femtocell are improvements to both coverage and capacity, especially indoors. A Femtocell is typically the size of a residential gateway or smaller, and
connects into the end-user’s broadband line. Once plugged in, the Femtocell connects to the MNO’s mobile network, and provides extra coverage in a range of typically 30 to 50 meters for residential Femtocells. The end-user must declare which mobile phone numbers are allowed to connect to his/her Femtocell, usually via a web interface provided by the MNO. When these mobile phones arrive under coverage of the Femtocell, they switch over from the Macrocell (outdoor) to the
Femtocell automatically. All communications will then automatically go through the Femtocell.

Internet connectivity has become increasingly important for both consumers and enterprises. But their connectivity needs differ significantly from each other. Telco operators so far have monetized on the needs of consumers while providing similar solutions to enterprises. As the revenues from consumers saturate, operators now eye upon the possible revenues generated by addressing enterprise use cases.
The private network is one such connectivity product that caters to industrial connectivity needs in various sectors. In the presentation, I have explored the global trends paving way for the success of the private networks, the problems it addresses in various sectors, and finally the projected revenue that Indian operators can generate by 2030 with this product.
With worldwide mobile backhaul connections increasing from 5 to 10 Mbps in 2009 to 50 Mbps by 2012, mobile operators, network equipment vendors and others must implement new strategies to cope with the influx. Fiber, copper, microwave, millimeter wave—each backhaul medium has its own advantages and limitations in terms of availability, cost to deploy, operational cost, speed/distance and regulatory considerations. What is the right strategy for today’s 3G and emerging 4G ecosystem, and is there any hope of leveraging today's backhaul assets for three (let alone five) years?
In this webinar, Jennifer Pigg, Yankee Group research VP, examines the mobile backhaul solutions operators are deploying today and the emerging strategies for tomorrow.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

13. The Femto Advantage Monthly Cost for a Macro Site = $ 7,047 Cost of a Femto Cell = $ 247 For 90,000 subs, 202 macro sites required By using femto cells, one saves on 38 sites, saving $ 268,000 Assuming 2 users per femto cell, 9,000 femto cells req. to cover 20% subs costing $138,000 Net Monthly Saving = $ 130,000
First point- Open innovation Third point - 40Kbps upload/download per voce call and 153.8Kbps per data session. So a max of 3 user simulataneously can be accomodated but throughput is reduced. Fourth point- Unlimited plan does not include cost for data sessions. Fifth point— -For example, a customer cannot take the femtocell to a region and use it at their vacation home where there is no Sprint coverage, nor can the customer take the femtocell to Europe and use it as though the customer is in the U.S. -Also AIRAVE will operate anywhere within your location provided that broadband Internet access is available and the unit is located within close proximity of a window for GPS signal acquisition. In the instance that a GPS signal cannot be obtained, the service will not work which means that an external 30 foot GPS antenna is included that can be located near a window. Last point- The visitor needs to be on the unlimited plan and needs to be authorised and also have a sprint phone Downside - Calls that are initiated on the Nationwide Sprint Network will continue on the Nationwide Sprint Network, even though you may be within the AIRAVE coverage area. However, if you are on an unlimited plan and move out of Airave network to cellualr network ou minuted of usage will be counted in the free unlimited MoU as per plan. Vice Versa is not true
