Essay About Faith
Crafting an essay on the theme of faith is a task that presents its own set of challenges. Faith is a
deeply personal and nuanced concept, encompassing a wide spectrum of beliefs, values, and
experiences. The difficulty lies in capturing the essence of faith in a way that resonates with
diverse audiences, considering the subjective nature of this topic.
Firstly, defining faith is a complex endeavor. It goes beyond mere religious connotations and
delves into the realms of personal convictions, trust, and belief systems. To encapsulate the
multifaceted nature of faith requires a careful choice of words and a nuanced understanding of
the diverse perspectives that people bring to the table.
Moreover, navigating the fine line between expressing one's beliefs and respecting the beliefs of
others is a delicate task. The essay should avoid veering into a preachy or judgmental tone, as
this could alienate readers who hold different views. Striking a balance between asserting one's
perspective and fostering a sense of inclusivity is crucial.
Researching the historical and cultural contexts of faith adds another layer of complexity. Faith
has played a pivotal role in shaping societies, influencing art, politics, and philosophy throughout
history. Unraveling these intricate connections and presenting them coherently in an essay
requires extensive research and a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter.
Furthermore, capturing the emotional dimension of faith poses a challenge. Faith often involves
deeply rooted emotions and personal experiences that defy easy articulation. Transforming these
intangible aspects into words that resonate with readers requires a high degree of empathy and
skillful storytelling.
In conclusion, writing an essay on faith demands not only a mastery of language but also a
profound understanding of the complexities inherent in the topic. It requires the writer to
navigate through diverse perspectives, maintain a delicate balance of inclusivity, and convey the
emotional nuances associated with faith. It is a task that goes beyond the surface of religious
dogma, reaching into the depths of human experience and belief systems.

Yellowtone Park Research Paper
During a sweltering summer day, my brother, cousin and I decided to wade in
unfamiliar waters to cool down. When entered we definitely cooled down because
our teeth were chattering. Soon, something clung to my brother s leg. We got in that
situation when my mom, dad, brother, cousin and I went on a two week road trip to
Seattle, Washington. During that trip, we stopped at Yellowstone Park for two days.
During our stay there, we did few activities like seeing the many geysers, playing in a
lake, camping, and seeing some animals.
My family and I arrived in Yellowstone Park at around 3 PM. When we reached the
camping grounds, we found our camping spot and we tried to figure out how to set
up our tent. On our first two regrettable attempts at setting up a tent, we tried to stand

While driving, I saw strangers swimming in unfamiliar waters (which I thought
was a lake) and I wanted to go play in the lake too. So we stopped there and my
cousin Neil, my brother, Dylan and I walked up into the lake. Brrrrr, we all said
with our teeth chattering. When we were in the lake, Dylan found a log and sat on
it trying to float. In time, we were wading out of the water and my mom saw a
leech on Dylan and freaked out. She told Dylan and my dad about the leech. When
Dylan found out, he started jumping and running like a maniac. Then, my dad told
Dylan to calm down so he could scrape the leech off with his pocket knife. I was
confused by how a leech got on Dylan and I was curious about how to kill a leech.
Neil was scared and acted like Dylan when he saw the leech. My dad was curious
and looked in the water for leeches and he saw a bunch of them! I saw them and I
was no longer confused because Dylan picked up the log right next to the bunch of
leeches. Not to mention, we found a sign that says no swimming/ wading. Because
there were leeches in the lake, we left and went back to our
Wedding Crashers By David Dobkin
If you re a fan of romantic comedy films then Wedding Crashers might just be the
film for you! Wedding Crashers is a popular film from 2005 directed by David
Dobkin. The top stars in Wedding Crashers include Owen Wilson as John Beckwith,
Vince Vaughn as Jeremy Grey, and Rachel McAdams as Claire. The movie begins as
the main characters (John and Vince) who are divorce mediators in Washington D.C.
go to crasha wedding held for the U.S. Secretary of Treasury s daughter. While at
the wedding Jeremey ends up finding another sister of the bride, Gloria Cleary and
ends up hooking up with her at the wedding. While Jeremey is occupied with Gloria,
John also finds himself another girl, Claire who has a boyfriend.

John and Jeremy get invited to the Cleary s mansion after crashing the wedding and
end up staying the night. At a point during the night, Kathleen Cleary, the wife of
William Cleary, seduces John, making him grasp her breast. The second affair
occurs that same night when Gloria s brother, Todd enters Jeremy s room and jumps
on top of him and asks him to play tummy sticks. The plot twists in the movie can
also be seen when the wedding crashers get exposed by Sack and their real identities
are shown to the Clearys. After being exposed to the Clearys, John and Jeremy
were told to leave by the William Cleary. Jeremy would secretly continue his
relationship with Gloria while John would go on a downward spiral of depression.
Wedding Crashers does not have a lot of history in the movie due to it being a strong
comedic film with a hint of romance in it but it does reflect human nature.
Throughout the film, people are generally happy such as weddings and affairs, but
even with happiness comes downfalls such as when John and Jeremy get exposed
and have to leave the Clearys or when John crashes a funeral.
Wedding Crashers lacks in the intelligence value as well as the director s craft
value. The main focus of the movie is crashing a wedding so for special effects there
isn t a lot you can do. The only pyrotechnics in the movie is when the men all go
hunting and there is gun shots and the gun shots hit a mannequin or stunt double and
rip holes in the pants. The movie in
Discretion In Utilitarianism Ethical System
The use of discretion is part of policing. Meaning, an officer can choose whether or
not to charge an individual with a crime (Pollock, 2017). The use of discretion could
be categorized in the utilitarianism ethical system. Utilitarianism is the belief an
action, whether right or wrong, is right if it benefits most of society (Pollock, 2017).
Therefore, the senior and rookie officers choice not to act, when witnessing the
teenagers smoking marijuana, would be consistent with utilitarianism if they had at
least spoken to them about the issue. In my opinion, the officers decision was not
used to benefit anyone except for themselves. I believe the decision was made due to
it being close to quitting time , not for any other reason. The

World Aging Population
The ageing of global population is an important issue that has been debated recently.
To think about a better and longer life seems too attractive for us, but the impact of
a generalized increase of age can be a problem for the government s policies and for
the maintenance of the economy. This phenomenon is occurring right now in almost
every country in the world, but faster in the developed and developing countries. The
purpose of this paper is to study the population ageing, especially what are its causes,
effects and what we can predict and do about the future. Besides, this paper get
more emphasis to the changes on Brazil s populace between 1970 and 2010, Brazil is
a developing country and it is a good example to go a little deeper on this topic.
AGING POPULATION: MAIN CAUSES
When the number of adults and elderly people begin to increase at the same time
births begin to decrease, a process of aging starts to affect the population.
The life expectancy increased significantly, this kind of measure should and will be
analyzed according to the specifics life conditions of each country or region, but a
global measure is useful to illustrate the issue. Thus, whereas in 1950 1955 the
global life expectancy was 47.7 years, in 2005 2010 it was 67.9. This fact is mainly
due to advances in medicine and improvement of life conditions, which also
contributes to mortality
Mother Nature And Human Events Affecting Our World

we live in today. Our world today is created by a mixture of Monarchy and
Dictatorship made by man. This government that we live in today is a man based
system that has brought major factors to our nation. This system is suppose to
support and help the citizens in their country, but consider to help themselves. Some
nobles think about to help others, but give us very little that barely gets us by. It has
been said by the people who wrote this document that all are equal and should keep a
balance of peace and tranquility. There s a lot of things this government has not

not treat every body the same. They give more privileges to the wealthy people, but
expect the middle class to support the lower class. This is a question i ask myself

Fine Balance Essay
During the mid 1970 s in India, it was a time of democracy where people were not
treated according to the justice. The people in lower classes were being mistreated
and taken advantage of due to their lack of power to stand up for themselves.
However, people who had the power were controlling the government for their own
advantage to cover up their ruthless actions. This chaotic situation in their society is
addressed in the novel A Fine Balance, by Rohinton Mistry through the quote
Government problems games played by people in power. It doesn t affect the
ordinary people like us , which illustrates how the law is being bent in the society
and how it is breaking the balance of justice bringing misfortune to the people in

In addition, Mistry uses the Prime minister as an example to illustrate that in their
nation, anything is possible with wealth and power. Although the prime minister is
known to be guilty of election malpractice , she used the power that she possesses to
defend herself from the crimes that she has committed (76). This illustrates that
when one has enough power and wealth, it is only a simple task to manipulate and
control the people with less power. This is similar to how she started attacking the
poor and powerless beggars and sending them to the Sterilization camp to sterilize
them, in order for her to protect India from over population. This shows how using
the power, she was able to change the laws and protect her position as the prime
minister. However, she only manipulates the laws against the poor because if she
tried to control the rich, that would ruin her reputation as people would protest
against the inhumanity that she is causing against the law. Therefore, it is clear how
the serving of justice is being imbalanced between the poor and the rich as more
poor people are being served with injustice. Furthermore, Mistry uses the Emergency
to illustrate the consequences that the poor people have to endure due to the actions
of the people in power . Om and Ishvar were victims of the

The Israel Defense Force ( Idf )
In 2005, the Israeli government tasked the Israel Defense Force (IDF) to clear Israeli
settlements in Gaza as part of a disengagement strategy. The 8,500 settlers first
occupied the area at the end of the Six Day War in 1967 and created a robust
community and economy within the territory. Tasked with moving the settlers, IDF
Brigadier General Gershon Hacohen faced a challenging and complicated task to
remove the settlers from their homes peacefully. Hacohen s critical thinking process
faced tremendous challenges in an emotionally charged situation. The two Elements
of Thoughtthat posed the greatest challenge to his critical thinking were Points of

operation.
Point of View Point of View describes the various references, perspectives, and
experiences affecting critical thinking. To think critically about a problem and create
potential solutions, a person must understand personal views, other alternative
perspectives, and irregularities or falsehoods within both. Hacohen faced two
potentially irreconcilable points of view in his mission: the perspectives of the
settlers and the Israeli government. The IDF and the settlers both believed they were
acting in Israel s best interest, but through different perspectives. One of Hacohen s
greatest challenges was understanding these different perspectives to create a solution.
The settlers believed the land rightfully belonged to them for

Problems Associated With Poor Time Management For
Students
Introduction Time management is an essential aspect that the students must learn in
order to achieve their goals and build their career. The skills of time management
initially provide a relief from the stress as well as later helps the students to be
focused towards their targets as well as their performance for achieving the targets.
Thus, if the students are not able to manage their time effectively, then there may
arise various issues in their personal as well as academic life (Michael). In the same
essence, the report is focused on exploring the problems associated with poor time
managementfor students. In addition to this, the cause of poor time management
regarding issues are also evaluated in the report. Furthermore, the... Show more

This ultimately results in poor quality outcomes that are not able to meet the
academic requirements, and lower overall grades (Liu et al.). This increased
workload has a severe impact on the physical as well as mental health of the students.
The heavy workload leads to students spending extended time sitting in front of the
computer screens to search for the necessary data and address the assignment
requirements. This has implications for the health of the students, impacting the vital
bodily functions due to longer sitting. High exposure to screens also influences the
eyes of the students, influencing their vision quality and interfering with the natural
sleep cycle (Thorp et al.; Hale, and Guan). In addition to this, the students can
potentially suffer from mental health issues, such as stress. Therefore, poor time
management can seriously impact the physical and mental health of the students.
Causes of Poor Time Management Related Issues One of the biggest causes for the
poor time management among students is the tendency to procrastinate until the last
possible moment. There may be multiple reasons for procrastination, but it ultimately
results in intense work for long stretches to meet the necessary deadlines. It is often
argued that the majority of the students work better under pressure of deadlines, and
therefore tend to procrastinate (The McGraw Center for Teaching Learning).
However, it can also lead to the problems
Who Is Don Quixote Insane
Don Quixote chose to be a knight errant to help others, to live an adventurous life
and to achieve fame. Throughout the book Don Quixote has trouble adapting his
vision to his environment and circumstances. He pretends the world is the same as
the way it was described in the books of chivalry. Don Quixote seems completely
insane; he fails to recognize people and objects compared to the books and real life.
Don Quixoteis a novelabout how Don Quixote perceives the world. He transforms
everyday objects into more dramatic and epic versions of themselves. Such are the
fortunes of war, which more than any other are subject to constant change. What is

Stibbe is arguing about the animals who has their lives ended or made miserable by
human activity. For example, 10 billion birds and mammals are raised and killed in
just one country, the United States, most of them confined that they can t move
properly (Stibbe 63). For some reason, more people became cruel as the world
develops. But there is a ecological reason why we should listen to animals. Animals
play a role in maintaining a balanced ecosystem. Relationships amongst the humans
are constructed through language . The reason why language lies in the way

Animals are designed to provide good to humans, and the ecosystem which resembles
as a disposal service. In return for the goods and the services, animals receive the
confinement, toxins, death, which is where the economy breaks down (Stibbe 67).
The animal liberation movement, in contrast with wildlife conservation, focuses
specifically on the animals who suffer most at the hands of humans. The ones whose
relationships with humans consist of little more than abuse and exploitation. It was a
discourse to promote a change in human/animal relationships, yet this discourse has
its limits, Tester (199I: 196) sums up one limit to the animal liberation movement The
animals are nothing more than objects to which something is done (Stibbe 76).
Animal agency is a contentious philosophical issue. There are theorists who are
important to attribute agency to animals at all, who fear it as an anthropomorphic and
therefore does not respect the different nature of animals. The discourse of animal
rights is common with the animal liberation, but calls for legal rights to be created
as a certain species of animals. Animals are considered to be species, resources,

Examples Of Actor Network Theory
The Actor Network Theory (ANT) is a social theory which treats objects as part of
the overall social network. This approach places emphasis on the capacity of
nonhuman objects to interact and even participate in various social networks and
systems. The following information will explain Actor Network Theory, provide
examples of how it is believed to work, and explore the relationship this theory has
in regards to power and politics.
The Actor Network Theory Explained
This theory was developed by scholars Bruno Latour and Michel Callon. Sociologist
John Law also contributed to the theory. Humans and nonhumans are obviously not
the same, but they can be studied and observed in similar ways and can both be seen
as actors influencing their environment. Anything that makes a difference in the
overall scheme of things can be considered an actor, or an actant. Even though it is
technically called a theory, ANT usually doesn t explain how or even why a network
emerges into the form that it does. Instead, ANT explores the intricate ties in a
network. In many ways it is more of a method than a theory. It describes how
activities and habits can sustain themselves while interacting with one another and
working toward a common goal. Although ANT is usually associated with science
and technology, it has expanded into the field of sociology as ... Show more content

When it comes to politics and the power associated with it, the first thing that must
be noted is that much more is involved than the people, or in this case, the
politicians. Ideas and concepts play a crucial role in the political process. Therefore,
just like the previous example of the hospital, there are lots of moving parts, hence,
actors, involved in politics. There are people, places, and communication mediums
involved. Even getting a message out depends on a channel or venue through which
that message must travel to reach the
Labeling And The Rights Of All Students
Labeling and the rights of all students to access education Rights baseds and needs
based Selecting a school for your child can be based on various reasons depending
on what you are looking for whether it is scholarships they offer, location even
public perception (Hobsons, 2015). Ideally every parent wants the utter most best
for their child. Unfortunately some parents get lost and focus mainly towards a
specific achievement or offer which may not always be within the best interest of
the child. For example Bryson goes to South High School as they supply the best
football opportunities. While he is doing well in physical education in class work
is suffering, falling behind as they don t offer Bryson the one on one attention he
needs to succeed. Labeling is a process of creating descriptors to identify persons
who differ from the norm (White, 2014). Labeling is required to be included in
special education (Government, 2005). Under current law, to receive special
education services, a child must be identified as having a disability and, in most
cases, must be further classified into one of that state s categories, such as mental
retardation or learning disabilities (Heward, 2010). Some parents struggle with the
idea of placing their beloved child in a special school unwilling to accept the Label
(Heward, 2010). This Label can stop parents from allowing their child to receive the
best possible treatment in developing their Childs knowledge and physical/personal

Death Of Romeo And Juliet Essay

desperate lovers, at antithetical ends of a violent feud, whose love affair meets a
tragic end. But to what extent are these two lovers responsible for their own
downfall or are they merely victims of harsh fate? Whilst Romeo and Juliet play a
crucial role in the generation of their own demise, there are also a variety of external
features that equally influence the hapless fate of the two star cross d lovers.
One of the most consequential of the external influences that prompted the demise of
the fervent love affair is the violent feud between the lovers families. Romeo and

A connection between the haste of the marriage of Romeo and Juliet can be linked
back to the contractual marriage of Juliet to Paris as arranged by her parents and the
deaths of both Tybalt and Mercutio. Juliet s impending marriage to Paris forces the
lovers to rush into vows of their own, basing their decision solely on their desires
and without heed or consideration of the consequences. Similarly, the deaths of both
Tybalt and Mercutio compels the pair to once again act in haste. Juliet is caught
between her love of Romeo and grievance over Tybalt s death at the hands of her
lover, whilst Romeo is banished from Verona. Both these external features rush the
lovers into somewhat dangerous and irrational decisions, with the urgency of their
affair contributing to the lack of consideration of the peril they could face. The
fraught circumstances further build on the already intense emotions of the lovers,
denying them the privilege of a normal relationship and pointing to a disaster for the
impassioned pair. Therefore, the actions of Juliet s parents and the deaths of both
Tybalt and Mercutio, inflames the lovers emotions and causes them to rush their
relationship. This pressures them into making irrational and perilous decsions and
leads them to a poignant

haplogroup X into the New World lived and prospered so well even in the type of
environmental conditions they endured before, during, and after the Ice Age. The
fact that they have protection from diseases allowed them to conquer any illnesses
that they might have come in contact with while traveling or mating. In Amish

Bram Stoker Research Paper
Abraham Bram Stoker was born in Clontarf, Ireland on November 8th, in the year
1847. He had a rough start to life, being rendered bedridden until the age of seven
from an unspecified illness. He was very weak as a kid and seldom left his house
during childhood. These isolated years he was kept entertained by his mother and
the stories she told him. He took particular interest in the tales she shared with him
on the 1832 cholera epidemic, a widespread terror that claimed the lives of
thousands. His mother also detailed to him tales of Irish folklore, many of which
carried dark stories and spoke of creatures like vampires and ghouls. Eventually after
the first seven years of his life, things began to look up and a cure for his ailment was

His first foray into horror was his 1875 short story The Chain of Destiny . He
published his first book in the year 1879. It was titled The Duties of Clerks of
Petty Sessions a nonfiction, administrative book. Stoker s first novel came in the
year 1890, and was titled The Snake s Pass. The novel was a romantic thriller and
was set in his home country of Ireland. Many critics find his early writings leave
much to be desired, stating they are overdramatic and rely too heavily on tired
cliches. However, Stoker found great success when he published his novel Dracula in
1897. The novel is widely regarded as a masterpiece and took him seven years to
write. Several critics place it as the greatest work of horror ever written. The novel
was inspired to his visit to Whitby. There he came across An Account of
Principalities of Wallachia and Moldavia, a book by William Wilkinson which pays
homage to the history of Dracula. He also spent years researching traditional Eastern
European folklore and the geography to supplement his knowledge while
My Middle School Self And Growing Up
Growing up is a journey we all have to travel. We all make our own paths on our
adventure of change. Along the way the path will be beautiful and smooth sailing,
bumpy and rough, and sometimes conflict will appear out of the blue. At times forks
in the road will show up and decisions must be made. Change is inevitable.
Throughout a lifetime decisions made will be small and slight, or huge and major. It
does not matter because one decision can change one s path completely. Even the
slightest change can make the difference. The decision could even be a change of
hairstyle. A change in hairstyle could lead to a new fashion sense, to a new genre of
music, to a completely new person. I myself have noticed many differences and
similarities between my middle schoolself and now; and it is only the beginning.
One similarity between my middle school self and my current self is my
personality. Throughout middle school I was always upbeat and very outgoing. I
loved talking to new kids and making people feel welcome. Positive reinforcement
was definitely my forte. At any sporting event I was the girl cheering the loudest
and usually losing her voice. In middle school I would express being outgoing by
performing ballet and doing forensics. I also would sing at my church. I am proud
to say that I am still like this today. It is such a pleasure to be able to brighten
someone s day, which is why I am so happy that, in this case, I have not changed
since middle school. Besides my

I m sincerely apologize but I really need to rant. I m not going to be offended if no
one reads this we all have our own problems and reading about someone else s

Let s start out with the most obvious of reasons college!! College is one of the
biggest stepping stones into real life and we re all flailing through the process with
no idea what to do because we ve never done it before and it seriously sucks. The
amount of mixed information we all get from different people telling us different
things about college and the process has been overwhelming to all except for Sam

but then, like blips on a radar screen everyone else seemed to be getting answers
from their dream universities, whether it was a yes, a no, or annoyingly being

these people have been applying early action and early decision (words and terms
that are foreign to students and parents lucky enough not to be placed under the
strain of college applications), this feels like an eternity. This feels like a go big or

wandering your old school halls because you peaked in junior year. Some people
are getting accepted into top universities like Brown, Stanford, Princeton, Yale,
MIT, and I m over here applying to some UC s and second guessing myself on how
to spell Stanford. Everyone around me has the peace of mind to know what their

Analysis Of The Movie The Bedroom With Fill The Gaps...
In 1979, Dubus creates an alternate world, where he propels readers through the
emotional whirlpool spinning in the mind of Matt Fowler, a man who is trying to
cope with the tragic murder of his son; as the tide, acting through his wife, becomes
increasingly overwhelming, Matt is driven to seek revenge through the killing of
Richard Fowler (Dubus 1123 1136). Years later, in 2001, director Todd Field
produces
the film adaptation In the Bedroom to fill the gaps Dubus s short storycannot; while
the story focuses more on the killingsthemselves, Field allows views to understand
the emotional turmoil that pushes characters to the edge, ultimately explaining the
journey of how the killings come to be (In the Bedroom). Although Dubus wrote...

Within the argument, the cinematographer films the scene as a shot reverse shot,
further implying that Matt and Ruth are in conflict. One can see the veil depression
places Ruth after Frank s death, enabling her to ask Matt for the literal unspeakable
task of murder; in a short story, one cannot read silence, but the silence permeating
the film speaks louder than the Dubus s words.
While in neither the film nor short story does Ruth outwardly express her desire for
the death of Richard, within the film, one is able to glimpse into the inner workings
of Matt s mind, understanding the emotional manipulation, brought on by his wife, he
endures. Matt describes how Ruth has concrete objections which he trie[s] to
overcome and in his intent to do this[,] he neglect[s] his own objects (1127); here,
Dubus is indirectly telling readers this is the foundation Ruth has previously built in
her marriage, allowing her to manipulate Matt into carrying out tasks, or specifically
it (1136). Furthermore, several times in the short story, Matt convinces himself that
he [is] certain that [Ruth knows and] she [is] waiting for him for she knows (Dubus
1125, 1134). In Field s adaptation, one can see the change in behavior and demeanor
both Matt and Ruth undergo, driving Matt to commit a seemingly inevitable killing.
Several times in the film, the camera focuses on Matt and then quickly switches to a
smash cut, implying disruption and cacophony follow Matt; however,

The information system is a combination of software, hardware, data, people and
procedure. It is not solely depending on the technology, interactions between people
also counts. In this case, multiple reasons have caused the situation in this case: (1)
Ignorance of the real situation: The new technology may meet the needs of the
hotel. However, the task stated by the GM can be done in a much easier and
cheaper ways. For example, they can require employees to use written form reports
in order to reduce the slippage percentage and reoccurring problems. Reporting every
problem real time may cause extra work for maintenance. Gathering all the
problems in a period of time and report them afterward may be more efficient,
besides, the additional cost can be greatly reduced. (2) Did not take employees into
consideration: In this case I am aware that the employees are interested in the new
technology first, but soon lose that interest . It could be caused by the hard operation
of the new system, thus the teaching may took a long time. While the old method is
much easier and have been used for a long period, to change this habit can be tough.
(3) Time limitation: We can see from the case that Blake only have one week to do
his job. Although main research has been done during this time including the funding
investment and negotiation with vendor, there is no time and chance for field test.
The whole project is theoretical. (4) Overestimate and underestimate the
Flannery O Connor s Everything That Rises Must Converge
Everything that Rises Must Converge looks like a simple story when you read the
literal meaning of the title terms, it also sounds like the author has presented a
simple story that can be easily understood without any struggle with the stylistic
nature of the work and the religious symbolism incorporated. In this book, we are
presented with Mrs. Chestny; she s a fanatic who believes that the black man must
rise. This is based on the fact that she condescendingly offers some money to the
small black child in the story due to his sons Julian influence, Julian recognizes the
black woman who knocked his mother with a bag would symbolize the whole black
racewhich will not take your patronizing pennies. He also points out that the old
manners are old fashioned (O Connor). He, therefore, realizes her mother has
collapsed and is struggling on the ground, there he watches his mom die from the
blow, possibly life on the universe is not that easy it presents so many challenges,
and one has to be bold enough to face them. The world is therefore not a place
where things are just either white or black. From the synopsis, it is imperative to
note that Everything That Rises Must Converge it is not that simple story as you
may infer. It presents a complex issue of race, and... Show more content on

Fed Ex vs UPS Case Analysis Essay examples

The parcel service industry is made up of four main competitors. These competitors
are UPS, FedEx, Airborne Express, and the U.S. Postal Service. Since 2000,
American consumers have spent more than $50 billion to ship parcels, packages, and
overnight letters. New parcel distribution patterns developed due to the way U.S.
manufacturing companies are operating. The Internet has expanded the reach of
direct marketing, particularly with retail transactions requiring home delivery.
Globalization has also created the need for parcel carriers to expand worldwide.

Manufactures also depended more on the customer, information technology, and the
increase in the use of technology in all parts of the economy. Companies such as
FedEx, UPS, Airborne Express, and USPS shipped parcels at a faster rate and were
more reliable than other rail, motor, and water carriers.
Trends and opportunities of the parcel service industry include globalization, e
commerce, and supply chain management. Internet logistics was FedEx and UPS s
fastest growing business. The internet enabled customers to link directly to retailers
and their manufacturers. In 2001, parcel carriers served almost all of the online
market. They were able to provide information on packages to customers through
tracking systems on the web. This allowed customers to plan ahead and decrease
delays in deliveries. It also allowed for faster transactions and lower communication
costs. Parcel companies created partnerships with large Internet retailers. These
partnerships allowed parcel service companies to expand its overall delivery volume.
Parcel companies improved tracking by implementing several technological
innovations. These included laser scanners and bar codes, state of the art software
programs, satellite and cell phone communication equipment, electronic information
interchanges, and the Internet.
Globalization is another major trend. Since the emergence of the

Social Contract
Yes No:
An agreement a pond the Social Contract
Lets began this essay with a little review from what we learned from Philosophy. The
Social Contract is an model agreement upon members in a certain society which they
live by. For an example is laws. If we didn t have any laws, the world would be all
chaos. So we all sign a social contract that we will obey the law. Ones who do not
obey the law will get punished by the government weather it s a warning or jail time,
you will get punished.
Now that we understand the social contract a little better, lets get into what I think
and believe. As a young girl, I was told to follow the rules by my father, who owns
his own contraction company, and a mother, who has a career for working for the
government (which I cannot get into detail). Growing up they always said Don t
trust anybody and I thought to myself, how could this be possible when I live in a
society with doctors, nurses, firemen, and policemen that want to help me? As I got
older I started to understand. Not everybody wants to be your friend. Times like this

Understanding The Risk Factors Associated with
Pathogenic...
An advantage of thinking more comprehensively about the pathogenic abnormalities
that impair healing is that one can view existing therapies and procedures in a
different light, and with different justifications. For example, the process of surgical
debridement of diabetic foot ulcers becomes more than simply removing necrotic
tissue; at the same time, one is also removing the excessive bacterial burden and,
possibly, the phenotypically abnormal cells that may be present in and around the
wound. Another example is the removal of edema, which is also critical in the
management of diabetic ulcers. Edema removal decreases the chronic woundfluid that
has been shown to be deleterious to resident cells and that may enhance bacterial
colonization. Therefore, existing therapies can be integrated better with
pathophysiological principles [68]. The risk factors like obesity and very high
levels of blood glucose were found in our study which contributed to the formation
of chronic wounds along with microvascular complications. The locations of ulcers
were mostly on the lower limbs which can be due to poor hygiene and negligence of
the wound treatment if formed. The patients also revealed the high levels of C
reactive protein which can be said that there is high risk of ischemic foot leisions and
amputations and clinical treatment failure in diabetic foot patients [69].
There was an increased serum creatinine levels in patients with chronic wounds which
can be admitted to

Stopping Victimology while Educating Others When interacting in a group
environment what makes some individuals more prone to bullying behavior and
others more likely to be the victim? These terms and actions once defined and

root causes of bullying and what behaviors define bullying is a good first step in
educating individuals not only what defines a bully but what steps can be taken to
diminish bullying behavior and what can be done to protect a reduce the damage
done to the victims of bullies. If we can identify the factors that go into creating a
bully and the traits that victims share, then by education there can be a lessening of

Cross Cultural Relationships
Abstract This term paper focuses on different types of relationships, be it personal,
professional or marital, between people from different cultural backgrounds. The
objective of this paper is to list out the ways in which to have a healthy relationship
between people who are so different from each other. This has a major significance
in today s world as people are beginning to accept each other on a wider basis across
nations and as a result there comes a situation where you have to interact with
different kinds of people.
Introduction Today, in response to the pressures of globalization, there has arisen a
demand for cross cultural awareness and a requirement of training for the same. In
a world where countries are forming international treaties on a day to day basis and
people as well are forming personal links between each other across different
countries, cross cultural communication plays a vital role. As a result, a special
scientific branch has been dedicated for this purpose. It is called cross cultural studies
and it is the background for the following analysis on cross cultural relationships.
In the following paper we will mainly be focusing on how marriages work when the
bride and the groom are from different cultures, how professional relationships work
between cultures and also we will be analyzing a movie which amply explains cross
cultural marriage, and lastly we will be discussing some tips which would help in

The banking industry in Nigeria has witnessed tremendous changes linked with the
developments in ICT over the years. The quest for survival, global relevance,
maintenance of existing market share and sustainable development has made

this new trend and examines the extent to which they have adopted innovative

Lady Windermere s Fan Comparison
At first glance, Oscar Wilde s works The Picture of Dorian Gray, Lady Windermere
s Fan, and The Importance of Being Earnest seem quite disparate. The first is
horror, while the latter two are comedies; the first is a novel, while the latter two are
plays; the list of the differences between the works could continue. The striking thing
about these works, however, is that despite their differences, Wilde manages to unify
their themes. Wilde uses the symbolism in each work images of self in The Picture
of Dorian Gray, the fan in Lady Windermere s Fan, and the use of names in The
Importance of Being Earnest to collectively criticize Victorian morality. In The
Picture of Dorian Gray, Wilde criticizes Victorian narcissism through his use of

Lady Windermere is the first possessor of the fan, a beautiful trinket embroidered
with her name which is given to her as a birthday present by her husband, Lord
Windermere (Windermere 6). She fiercely upholds moral standards while she
possesses it: she outright refuses to suffer Lord Darlington s talk of infidelity
(Windermere 9). Once Mrs. Erlynne is brought into the play, however, Lady
Windermere begins to lose control of the fan. She states that if Mrs. Erlynne
crosses [her] threshold, [she] shall strike her across the face with [the fan]
(Windermere 22). She also drops the fan upon seeing Mrs. Erlynne in her home for
the first time (Windermere 29). This faltering of the fan represents the beginning
of Lady Windermere s fall from grace. When Lady Windermere allows Lord
Darlington to hold her fan and to give it to her after she has dropped it
(Windermere 29), she is allowing a man who is not her husband, and who, in his
secret love for her, shows a delicate balance between goodness and corruption
(Nassaar 22) to have control over her. This therefore further distances her from
proper moral conduct. When Mrs. Erlynne takes possession of the fan in Lord
Darlington s rooms (Windermere 59), she puts herself in a place of moral
superiority over Lady Windermere. In claiming responsibility for Lady Windermere s
actions, Mrs. Erlynne proves that she is not simply a selfish woman who wants only
Causes Of Homegrown Terrorism
Even though it is called homegrown terrorism, terrorism does not only start within a
home. Although there have been events that lead to roots of what might have caused
the terrorism there is always evidence that contradicts itself. Some of these roots are
radicalization, religion, and multiculturalism. Every one of these roots has caused
terrorismthroughout decades which not only has the United Sates tried to stop, but
which we have come to conclude that it is something that we cannot control which
makes us believe there are other sources and roots of domestic terrorism. Terrorism
is not only on certain days or years; terrorism is an everyday fear.

The Discovery Of The Chemical And Biomedical
Engineering
Qian Hongyan lost both of her legs due to a car accident she was in when she was
four years old. She grew up in Luilang county, Southwestern China. For numerous
years she learned to walk by balancing herself using wooden stilts and a basketball.
After several years she received prosthetic limbs from the China Rehabilitation
Research Center. Chemical and biomedical engineering have given a multitude of
people a second chance at living such as Qian. Throughout history, many instances
such as the discovery of x rays, amputation procedures, and the mass killings of
malariaand smallpox have caused the need for the medical, chemical, and
biomedical fields to grow in order to solve these problems. Through many doctors,
physicians, engineers, and scientists working together, they have created a safer
world for many by discovering new innovative tools, procedures, and medicines. The
need for newer medical tools, safer medical procedures, and more effective
medicines have caused a growth in the chemical and biomedical fields.
Background
According to the Bureau of Labor Statics, the fields of chemical and biomedical
engineering will be growing from 2014 2024. Biomedical engineering is expected
to grow 23%. The Bureau of Labor Statistics claims, In addition, the integration of
chemical and biological sciences and rapid advances in innovation will create new
areas in biotechnology and in medical and pharmaceutical fields for them to work in.
Thus, those with a background in biology
Compare And Contrast The Classical Production Approach
Schoors et al. (2010) state that according to the classical production approach total
deposits and total loans are treated as output, and labour and physical capital are
used as inputs. As we cite Ferrier and Lovell (1990) emph { The production
approach views banks as producing demand deposits, time and savings deposits,
commercial loans, real estate loans, and instalment loans, using capital, labor, and
materials to do so. } Next to this classical production approach, Schoor et al. (2010)
mention the intermediation approach introduced by Sealey and Lindley (1977) in
their paper: emph{ Inputs, outputs, and a theory of production and cost at depository
financial institutions. } In this paper they introduce earning assets as outputs and
deposits as inputs.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the research paper of Schoors et al. (2010), they prefer the classic production
approach because in the intermediation approach, the deposits are neglected as an
import output. In order to follow our own rationale, we prefer to apply the classic
production approach since deposits are neglected in the intermediation approach and
our dataset consists only out of deposit banks. Also Ferrier and Lovell (1990) argue
using the production approach if you are measuring the cost efficiency of banks
because it takes only the operating costs of banking into account. On the other hand,
the intermediation approach is preferable if you want to investigate the viability of
banks since it is concerned with the overall costs of banking. But since we want to
conduct a comprehensive and thorough research on this subject, we will also include
a stochastic frontier model based on the intermediation approach inputs and outputs in
our robustness checks
Olympus Station
Olympus Station Somewhere between Earth and Mars Six years ago...
So what s the deal, Cap? You not gonna unwind a little bit while we re here? Wyatt
McKenzie looked at his young navigator and smiled slightly. At six one, he stood
considerably taller. I d just rather read a book and catch up on some sleep, Gavin.
Read a book? The young ensign shook his head. The flight terminal of the space
station was packed with humans and more. Gavin Teague was barely in his
twenties and had a headful of wavy black hair, unlike the bald McKenzie. His eyes
scanned the crowds of people excitedly. We ve been cooped up on that ship for
nearly two weeks, Cap. The crew needs a chance to unwind more than the passengers
do. Even you.
We re schedule to return to Earth in three days, Wyatt reminded him.
Gavin followed his captain onto the tram platform and looked down the magnetic
tracks to look for their transport. With all due respect, sir, that s three days from
now. There s a lot of fun to be had between now and then. Another three hundred
passengers making their way back home from here, Mars and beyond. We have
plenty of work to do making sure the Agamemnon is shape before we do. Wyatt
reminded him and he saw the young man s shoulder slump in defeat. Relax. That
doesn t mean you don t deserve a break. It just means I m too old to join you. Go
have some fun. Meet me at the hotel tomorrow

Essay About Faith. Faith essay sample. Christian Faith. 2022-10-26

  • 1. Essay About Faith Crafting an essay on the theme of faith is a task that presents its own set of challenges. Faith is a deeply personal and nuanced concept, encompassing a wide spectrum of beliefs, values, and experiences. The difficulty lies in capturing the essence of faith in a way that resonates with diverse audiences, considering the subjective nature of this topic. Firstly, defining faith is a complex endeavor. It goes beyond mere religious connotations and delves into the realms of personal convictions, trust, and belief systems. To encapsulate the multifaceted nature of faith requires a careful choice of words and a nuanced understanding of the diverse perspectives that people bring to the table. Moreover, navigating the fine line between expressing one's beliefs and respecting the beliefs of others is a delicate task. The essay should avoid veering into a preachy or judgmental tone, as this could alienate readers who hold different views. Striking a balance between asserting one's perspective and fostering a sense of inclusivity is crucial. Researching the historical and cultural contexts of faith adds another layer of complexity. Faith has played a pivotal role in shaping societies, influencing art, politics, and philosophy throughout history. Unraveling these intricate connections and presenting them coherently in an essay requires extensive research and a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter. Furthermore, capturing the emotional dimension of faith poses a challenge. Faith often involves deeply rooted emotions and personal experiences that defy easy articulation. Transforming these intangible aspects into words that resonate with readers requires a high degree of empathy and skillful storytelling. In conclusion, writing an essay on faith demands not only a mastery of language but also a profound understanding of the complexities inherent in the topic. It requires the writer to navigate through diverse perspectives, maintain a delicate balance of inclusivity, and convey the emotional nuances associated with faith. It is a task that goes beyond the surface of religious dogma, reaching into the depths of human experience and belief systems. For those seeking assistance with essays on various topics, including ones as intricate as faith, there are resources available. • 2. Yellowtone Park Research Paper During a sweltering summer day, my brother, cousin and I decided to wade in unfamiliar waters to cool down. When entered we definitely cooled down because our teeth were chattering. Soon, something clung to my brother s leg. We got in that situation when my mom, dad, brother, cousin and I went on a two week road trip to Seattle, Washington. During that trip, we stopped at Yellowstone Park for two days. During our stay there, we did few activities like seeing the many geysers, playing in a lake, camping, and seeing some animals. My family and I arrived in Yellowstone Park at around 3 PM. When we reached the camping grounds, we found our camping spot and we tried to figure out how to set up our tent. On our first two regrettable attempts at setting up a tent, we tried to stand it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While driving, I saw strangers swimming in unfamiliar waters (which I thought was a lake) and I wanted to go play in the lake too. So we stopped there and my cousin Neil, my brother, Dylan and I walked up into the lake. Brrrrr, we all said with our teeth chattering. When we were in the lake, Dylan found a log and sat on it trying to float. In time, we were wading out of the water and my mom saw a leech on Dylan and freaked out. She told Dylan and my dad about the leech. When Dylan found out, he started jumping and running like a maniac. Then, my dad told Dylan to calm down so he could scrape the leech off with his pocket knife. I was confused by how a leech got on Dylan and I was curious about how to kill a leech. Neil was scared and acted like Dylan when he saw the leech. My dad was curious and looked in the water for leeches and he saw a bunch of them! I saw them and I was no longer confused because Dylan picked up the log right next to the bunch of leeches. Not to mention, we found a sign that says no swimming/ wading. The plot twists in the movie can also be seen when the wedding crashers get exposed by Sack and their real identities are shown to the Clearys. After being exposed to the Clearys, John and Jeremy were told to leave by the William Cleary. Jeremy would secretly continue his relationship with Gloria while John would go on a downward spiral of depression. Wedding Crashers does not have a lot of history in the movie due to it being a strong comedic film with a hint of romance in it but it does reflect human nature. Throughout the film, people are generally happy such as weddings and affairs, but even with happiness comes downfalls such as when John and Jeremy get exposed and have to leave the Clearys or when John crashes a funeral. Wedding Crashers lacks in the intelligence value as well as the director s craft value. The main focus of the movie is crashing a wedding so for special effects there isn t a lot you can do. The use of discretion could be categorized in the utilitarianism ethical system. Utilitarianism is the belief an action, whether right or wrong, is right if it benefits most of society (Pollock, 2017). Therefore, the senior and rookie officers choice not to act, when witnessing the teenagers smoking marijuana, would be consistent with utilitarianism if they had at least spoken to them about the issue. In my opinion, the officers decision was not used to benefit anyone except for themselves. I believe the decision was made due to it being close to quitting time , not for any other reason. The

The Ageing Of Global Population Larissa Intrebartoli Resende Professor Bud Lewis Writing Gold B2 30 July 2015 World Aging Population The ageing of global population is an important issue that has been debated recently. To think about a better and longer life seems too attractive for us, but the impact of a generalized increase of age can be a problem for the government s policies and for the maintenance of the economy. This phenomenon is occurring right now in almost every country in the world, but faster in the developed and developing countries. The purpose of this paper is to study the population ageing, especially what are its causes, effects and what we can predict and do about the future. Besides, this paper get more emphasis to the changes on Brazil s populace between 1970 and 2010, Brazil is a developing country and it is a good example to go a little deeper on this topic. AGING POPULATION: MAIN CAUSES When the number of adults and elderly people begin to increase at the same time births begin to decrease, a process of aging starts to affect the population. The life expectancy increased significantly, this kind of measure should and will be analyzed according to the specifics life conditions of each country or region, but a global measure is useful to illustrate the issue. Thus, whereas in 1950 1955 the global life expectancy was 47.7 years, in 2005 2010 it was 67.9. This fact is mainly due to advances in medicine and improvement of life conditions, which also contributes to mortality

The people in lower classes were being mistreated and taken advantage of due to their lack of power to stand up for themselves. However, people who had the power were controlling the government for their own advantage to cover up their ruthless actions. This chaotic situation in their society is addressed in the novel A Fine Balance, by Rohinton Mistry through the quote Government problems games played by people in power. Although the prime minister is known to be guilty of election malpractice , she used the power that she possesses to defend herself from the crimes that she has committed (76). This illustrates that when one has enough power and wealth, it is only a simple task to manipulate and control the people with less power. This is similar to how she started attacking the poor and powerless beggars and sending them to the Sterilization camp to sterilize them, in order for her to protect India from over population. This shows how using the power, she was able to change the laws and protect her position as the prime minister. However, she only manipulates the laws against the poor because if she tried to control the rich, that would ruin her reputation as people would protest against the inhumanity that she is causing against the law. Therefore, it is clear how the serving of justice is being imbalanced between the poor and the rich as more poor people are being served with injustice. Furthermore, Mistry uses the Emergency to illustrate the consequences that the poor people have to endure due to the actions of the people in power . Om and Ishvar were victims of the

Let s start out with the most obvious of reasons college!! College is one of the biggest stepping stones into real life and we re all flailing through the process with no idea what to do because we ve never done it before and it seriously sucks. The amount of mixed information we all get from different people telling us different things about college and the process has been overwhelming to all except for Sam Nitz. In 1979, Dubus creates an alternate world, where he propels readers through the emotional whirlpool spinning in the mind of Matt Fowler, a man who is trying to cope with the tragic murder of his son; as the tide, acting through his wife, becomes increasingly overwhelming, Matt is driven to seek revenge through the killing of Richard Fowler (Dubus 1123 1136). Years later, in 2001, director Todd Field produces the film adaptation In the Bedroom to fill the gaps Dubus s short storycannot; while the story focuses more on the killingsthemselves, Field allows views to understand the emotional turmoil that pushes characters to the edge, ultimately explaining the journey of how the killings come to be (In the Bedroom). One can see the veil depression places Ruth after Frank s death, enabling her to ask Matt for the literal unspeakable task of murder; in a short story, one cannot read silence, but the silence permeating the film speaks louder than the Dubus s words. While in neither the film nor short story does Ruth outwardly express her desire for the death of Richard, within the film, one is able to glimpse into the inner workings of Matt s mind, understanding the emotional manipulation, brought on by his wife, he endures. Matt describes how Ruth has concrete objections which he trie[s] to overcome and in his intent to do this[,] he neglect[s] his own objects (1127); here, Dubus is indirectly telling readers this is the foundation Ruth has previously built in her marriage, allowing her to manipulate Matt into carrying out tasks, or specifically it (1136). Furthermore, several times in the short story, Matt convinces himself that he [is] certain that [Ruth knows and] she [is] waiting for him for she knows (Dubus 1125, 1134). In Field s adaptation, one can see the change in behavior and demeanor both Matt and Ruth undergo, driving Matt to commit a seemingly inevitable killing. Several times in the film, the camera focuses on Matt and then quickly switches to a smash cut, implying disruption and cacophony follow Matt; however,

An advantage of thinking more comprehensively about the pathogenic abnormalities that impair healing is that one can view existing therapies and procedures in a different light, and with different justifications. For example, the process of surgical debridement of diabetic foot ulcers becomes more than simply removing necrotic tissue; at the same time, one is also removing the excessive bacterial burden and, possibly, the phenotypically abnormal cells that may be present in and around the wound. Another example is the removal of edema, which is also critical in the management of diabetic ulcers. Edema removal decreases the chronic woundfluid that has been shown to be deleterious to resident cells and that may enhance bacterial colonization. Therefore, existing therapies can be integrated better with pathophysiological principles [68]. The risk factors like obesity and very high levels of blood glucose were found in our study which contributed to the formation of chronic wounds along with microvascular complications. The locations of ulcers were mostly on the lower limbs which can be due to poor hygiene and negligence of the wound treatment if formed. The patients also revealed the high levels of C reactive protein which can be said that there is high risk of ischemic foot leisions and amputations and clinical treatment failure in diabetic foot patients [69]. She fiercely upholds moral standards while she possesses it: she outright refuses to suffer Lord Darlington s talk of infidelity (Windermere 9). Once Mrs. Erlynne is brought into the play, however, Lady Windermere begins to lose control of the fan. She states that if Mrs. Erlynne crosses [her] threshold, [she] shall strike her across the face with [the fan] (Windermere 22). She also drops the fan upon seeing Mrs. Erlynne in her home for the first time (Windermere 29). This faltering of the fan represents the beginning of Lady Windermere s fall from grace. When Lady Windermere allows Lord Darlington to hold her fan and to give it to her after she has dropped it (Windermere 29), she is allowing a man who is not her husband, and who, in his secret love for her, shows a delicate balance between goodness and corruption (Nassaar 22) to have control over her. This therefore further distances her from proper moral conduct. When Mrs. Erlynne takes possession of the fan in Lord Darlington s rooms (Windermere 59), she puts herself in a place of moral superiority over Lady Windermere.
