1. Essays About Health Care
Crafting an essay on the broad subject of health care presents a multifaceted challenge. The
complexity of this topic stems from the intricate interplay of medical, social, economic, and
ethical dimensions. Delving into the vast realm of health care necessitates not only a
comprehensive understanding of medical principles but also an awareness of the socio-political
landscape that shapes healthcare systems globally.
One of the primary difficulties lies in synthesizing information from diverse sources, ranging
from medical journals and research papers to policy documents and sociological studies. To paint
a holistic picture, an essay on health care must seamlessly weave together statistical data, real-
world examples, and expert opinions. This requires not just research skills but also the ability to
critically analyze and synthesize information to form a cohesive narrative.
Moreover, health care is a dynamic field, constantly evolving with advancements in medical
science and changes in healthcare policies. Staying abreast of the latest developments and
incorporating them into the essay adds another layer of difficulty. It demands a keen eye for
detail and a commitment to providing up-to-date and accurate information.
Navigating the ethical considerations inherent in health care discussions adds another layer of
complexity. Balancing the perspectives of different stakeholders — patients, healthcare
providers, policymakers, and the general public — requires a nuanced approach. Addressing
sensitive topics like healthcare disparities, access to medical resources, and the ethical
implications of medical practices demands a careful and thoughtful exploration of diverse
viewpoints.
Furthermore, the essay should be accessible to a wide audience, not just those with a medical
background. Communicating complex medical concepts in a clear and understandable manner
while maintaining the depth of the discussion is a formidable challenge. Striking the right
balance between technical precision and readability is an art that requires both linguistic finesse
and subject matter expertise.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on health care is an intricate task that demands a blend of
research prowess, critical thinking, and an adept command of language. The ability to synthesize
information, address ethical nuances, and stay current in a rapidly evolving field all contribute to
the complexity of this writing endeavor.
For those seeking assistance in navigating this intricate path, there are platforms like

2. The Concepts Of Meth In Mexico, Mexico And California
Mexico and California. Law enforcement reported that the Mexican gang transports
meth into the country from California. The Mexican gang transport both crystal and
powdered meth. Some meth that is powdered is changed into crystal meth in Mexico
for transportation to Hawaii. Asian, crystal meth transporters who mainly consist of
Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese, and Filipino gangs also move the drug into the
country, but to a smaller extent as compared to the 1980s and the 1990s. Back in the
90s Hawaiian law enforcement eradicated numerous large Asian, mainly Korean,
criminal gangs that had conquered crystal meth transportation into the state from
Asia. However, these groups still move crystal meth to Hawaii from the California

The dominant Mexicans took over the market after successful law enforcement
investigations that were carried out in the early nineties that targeted the Asians
functioning in Hawaii. Conferring to law official Mr. Sylvester Armstrong, Asian
criminal groups and local dealers would transport wholesale quantities of meth from
Honolulu to Kauai for retail supply. Both Asian and Mexican groups still source
meth to retail suppliers in in the country. Local dealers and street gangs dispense the
drug at retail levels. The retail suppliers often use cellular phones and pagers when
transacting in the illegal business. The drug vended at the retail level is often put in
plastic bags. This kind of distribution takes place all over Honolulu mainly on street
corners or in nightclubs and from residential houses in some communities.
TREATMENT OF METH DEPENDENCE
Therapy of meth dependence is somewhat challenging because of the high relapse
and drop out, ongoing incidents of neurosis, and severe craving. No prescription has
been established to be good for meth dependence and abuse treatment. Therefore, the
backbones of treatment are cognitive behavioral therapy and contingency
management (Darke 29).
Contingency management is grounded on the principle of operant habituation where
behavior is expected to be recurrent in the event that it is trailed by positive penalties.

In this case, the tiny holes in the membrane of the potatoes will allow the water
molecules to pass through in and out of the solution and the potato, depending on the
concentration gradient of the two substances. So in this case, when the water
concentration is lower, the water will go inside the potato, and the potato will gain
mass. If there is very little different in the two water concentrations, there shouldn t be
such a big change in mass.
Also if there is a higher concentration of water in the potato, then the water will go
out of the potato and into the liquid solution, as osmosis is the movement of water
molecules from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration,
through a partially permeable membrane.
Preliminary Plan
1. Two test tubes and put them in a test tube rack
2. Fill both test tubes with the same amount of water about 1/3 of the way full.
4. 3. In one of the test tubes add sugar and mix it in with the water
4. Label this test tube sugar
5. Using a borer get two pieces of potato and cut the ends off.
6. Make sure that they are both the same size and weigh them
7. With a stop clock time 5 minutes for both of the potatoes bits when they have been
dropped in the water so they both have the same amount of time.
8. After they have been in for 5minutes take them out with a pair of tweezers and get

5. The Acadian Conflict Essay
The conflict over the Acadians also added to the misery of the relationship between
the French and the English in Canada. The main example is the war of Spanish
Succession that happened between the two countries from 1710 to 13. The Treaty of
Utrecht was signed as a result of this war. The treaty divided Acadia into English
mainland Nova Scotia and Island French Acadian territory. The Acadians had to face
many hardships due to this partition. Initially, after the division of the Acadian region
in 1713, the Acadians were allowed to remain in Nova Scotia by the British officials
operating the colonies at that time.
However, things turned bitter when the Acadians were asked to pledge the oath of
alliance to their British colonialists. While most Acadians were initially reluctant to
do this, the British did force them to take at least an oath of neutrality. The oath of
neutrality meant that the Acadians were not on either the British or the French side.

The oath of neutrality meant that they were now neither British subjects nor French
subjects. They were no one s allies. The Acadians faced with this dilemma refused to
sign the oath of neutrality altogether, as they wanted to be a part of their French
origins. This refusal to sign the oath, unfortunately, led to the belief on the part of
British officials that the Acadians were a threat to the security of the colony, and thus
must be contained. A direct result of this act was several atrocities were forced upon
the Acadians, and they were ultimately evicted. The eviction of Acadians is a major
event that has shaped the relationship between the French and the English politically.
The French do not think they are part of the old British kingdom. They are thus
fighting for their independence even today in the form of the free Quebec
6. Analysis Of The Movie Spirited Away And Ponyo
Director Miyazaki illustrated in Spirited Away and Ponyo how love, identity,
perseverance, and adversity can conquer anything. At the beginning of the movies,
we see how food and water set Chihiro, Sosuke, and Ponyo s entire adventures, and
the conflict they endure and how they were perceived in the spiritand humanworlds.
The spirit world was less tolerant of anything different whereas the human world was
more welcoming; however, they both illustrated the same message about how people
should be more open minded and to be more accepting. An example in Spirited Away
showed how the Spirit world viewed Chihiro as nothing more than just a human
being who came to their world to cause trouble, according to Yubaba; whereas in
the human world, Ponyo was welcomed by Sosuke, even though at the start of the
movie, Ponyo was appeared to be a goldfish, nevertheless she was still welcomed
by a human. The narrator showed his audience how difficult it was for Chihiro in
the spirit world, in Spirited Away , but, Ponyo was the opposite in the human
world but she still had adversity. By the contrast of both worlds, Miyazaki is
showing his audience how humans are more accepting of things that are different
vs the spirit world which rejects differences. The storyteller showed a scene in
Spirited Away where Yubaba tried to trick Chihiro into choosing her parents from a
group of sprit she had turned into pigs, but it didn t work the way Yubaba wanted it
to, because Chihiro was able
7. Perspectives on Love in Reality Parenting Shows
Many parenting programs have been made in recent years such as the Supernanny
and Brat Camp which were first aired in 2004 and 2005 respectively. Both were
originated from United Kingdom. So, this kind of show is no longer new to the
viewers. All the mentioned parenting shows earlier including the World s Strictest
Parents mainly focuses on the teenagers behavioral problems. (See
openhousecommunity.com.au)
The World s Strictest Parents was interesting because it was truly an account of the
families life. The teenager s outright rebellion against their strict foster parents
increases the tension, excitement and drama of the show. Even so, the host families
in the program show a genuine concern towards the teenagers because they are ...

Third, authoritarian is the best method among the parenting styles to rear a child.
Recall that parenting style is the strategies of the parents use to bring up a child.
According to Diana Baumrind, clinical psychologist, there are four types of parenting
styles namely: authoritative, permissive, authoritarian and uninvolved. Moreover,
these parenting styles, according to studies, produce various outcomes to the children
(See psychology.about.com). Table 1, presents the characteristics of each parenting
styles while Table 2, shows the comparison of the positive and negative effects it
created towards the children.
On the other hand, parenting styles greatly varies across all nations in many
important ways because of factors that affecting it such as culture, religion,
socioeconomic status, education, personality and their own upbringing (See
psychology.about.com). Among these factors, culture plays the most vital role in
parenting styles. For instance, Chinese culture is greatly influenced by Confucian
philosophy which emphasizes respect for authority, devotion to parents, emotional
restraint, and the importance of education. Chinese parents are not necessarily driven
to control their children; instead, they are expected to teach their children how to
maintain harmony with others. That is
8. Jocasta Tragic Hero
Tragic Hero The definition of a tragic hero has become an issue of contention as
many scholar come up with their definitions. In addition, tragic heroes make
decisions that destroy them in the end of the story; however the decisions are
always good for them or for the society. In Oedipus Rex, the protagonist Oedipus is
depicted as a tragic herobecause of his strength, nobility, and his determination to
find the murderer. In most tragic hero stories and plays, the tragic hero does
something good for the people that eventually destroy him or her. In addition,
Jocasta cannot be considered as a tragic hero in the story because she had tragic
flaws, which later led to her downfall. Jocasta is a characterin the story Oedipus the
King. Other than... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the end of the story, Jocasta committed suicide because, she realized that, the
prophesy was true and she was truly married to her son, who had earlier on killed
his father. Tragic heroes never make such mistakes; instead, they save the situation
even if it means giving up their lives. Even though Jocasta tried to give up her son
to die, she never made sure that h died. Moreover, even after her husband was
killed, she could have investigated what really happened, instead, she went ahead to
marry the king, who was her son. For this reason, Jocasta cannot be considered as a
tragic hero in the story second to Oedipus because, she commits an action that
ultimately destroys her, yet she could have saved her life and become a tragic
hero. Therefore, Jocasta cannot be considered as a tragic hero because, a tragic
hero is the main character in the story, who holds great powers and does good
deeds, yet for her, she was second to Oedipus because she was not the main
character, and her bad deeds outshines her good deeds. Jocasta was disloyal to her
husband, which led to his killing, and she did nothing to find out about his death.
Even though her life ended up miserably by committing suicide, Oedipus is the tragic
character in the
9. Pros And Cons Of Private Schools
Introduction
Education inherently serves both public and private interests. It addresses public
interests by preparing the young to assume adult roles that promote civic
responsibility, embrace a common set of economic and political values, and share a
common language. Education serves private interests in promoting individual
development, understanding, and productivity that contribute to adult productivity
and wellbeing. Levin (2001).

Many people are biased either towards public schools or private schools. According
to a 2009 poll, one out of four parents are currently considering to switch their child
s education from private to public or vice versa due to the economy (GreatSchools
Staff, 2015). There are several advantages and disadvantages of private school as
compared to public school. One of the advantages of private schools is the smaller
class size. Having less students in a class allows the teacher to focus on each student
individually. It also allows the teacher to be closer to the students and learn more
about them, therefore forming a bond between the teachers and students which makes
learning more effective (Lawrence, 1997). Private schools also have better access to
educational technologies. An elite private school in Andover, United States called
Philips Academy is one of the schools that uses a wide range of educational
technology. The school has launched an initiative to provide their students with a
tablet computer in 2013, and they are integrating software application into courses
like computer science and statistics, this initiative also provide students the
opportunity to access better primary source documents online (Herold,
10. The Purpose Of An English Teacher
The purpose of an English teacher is to impart wisdom into the minds of his or her
students, through various methods and mediums such as stories, grammar exercises,
and literary writing assignments that challenge students to think critically. English is
an interesting subject, in relevance to education and philosophy; because, outside of
grammar, there are few concrete avenues an educator can take in order to properly
teach it. However, there are standards by which educational organizations follow and
promote, such as the Common Core Standards. One website, concerning the purposes
of the Common Core Standards, asserts, The skills and knowledge captured in the

Quite often, narratives will inspire various interpretations in the minds of the
students and the teachers a like though the author may have had a specific purpose
in mind when shaping his or her literary work. Though an objective analysis can be
done, regarding the interpretation of literary works, a teacher s worldview will
likely, in some ways, be expressed through his or her opinions of the work.
Flannery O Connor, a Christian novelist, in her essay named Novelist and Believer,
writes, The good novelist not only finds a symbol for feeling, he finds a symbol and
a way of lodging it which tells the intelligent reader whether this feeling is adequate
or inadequate, whether it is moral or immoral, whether it is good or evil (564). If
English teachers must analyze works and, furthermore, impart the skill of analysis to
their students then teachers will be influencing their students, whether they realize it
or not, with their worldview, since it s difficult for people to interpret a work without
drawing from their own perspectives their worldview.
Though worldviews are generally attributed to people, individually or collectively, a
field and/or committee that makes the rules and regulations of a particular thing can
be primarily shaped around a philosophy. Depending on the type of school system, a
certain philosophy will almost always be recognizable. For example, in many cases it
isn t likely, or

Purim is celebrated on the 14th day of Adar which was the day the Jewish people
celebrated their survival of Haman s extermination. For the cities that were walled
in the time of Joshua it is celebrated on the 15th, because in the book of Esther a
wall city (Shushan) the message of the deliverance of the extermination did not
reach until the day after. The Purim holiday is followed by a fast, the fast honors
Esther s three days of fasting in preparation to be summoned by the king and tell

Book of Esther. Pesach also known as Passover in English is a common Jewish
holiday the permits the eating of Chametz that has not touched water in the last 18
minutes. Chametz are the five major grains which are wheat, rye, barley, oats and
spelt. The reason for this is because when the Jewish people left Egypt they did not
have time to allow their bread to rise which is symbolism for removing the
puffiness or pride from our souls. The holiday is so strict that you may not own
Chametz or anything with the five grains, you may not feed it to pets and or cattle,
and derive benefit from it. People go as far ass ridding their house of chametz
several weeks before Pesach, cleaning stoves, scrubbing their fridge, and cleansing
anything that has come in contact with food. Some Jewish people criticize
14. Ethnic Identity and African Americans Essay
Ethnic Identity and African Americans
Ethnic Identity
Ethnic identity is the sum total of group member feelings about those values,
symbols, and common histories that identify them as a distinct group (Smith 1991).
Development of ethnic identity is important because it helps one to come to terms
with their ethnic membership as a prominent reference group and significant part of
an individuals overall identity. Ethnic reference group refers to an individuals
psychological relatedness to groups (Smith 1991). These reference groups help

Identity and ethnicity as adolescent issues
Identity has been defined in many ways. It is the concept used to describe an
individual s sense of who he or she is (Dashefsky and Shapiro, 1976). Changes in
identity occur throughout the life cycle, however, the changes in identity are usually
most notable during adolescence. Integrating a positive sense of ethnic identity into
one s overall personal identity is an important task of late adolescence (Steinberg,
1996).
Ethnic identity has been defined as the aspect of one s sense of identity concerning

17. Essay on The Truth of Love Revealed in Adam’s Curse
The Truth of Love Revealed in Adam s Curse
Adam s Curse is a poem by William Butler Yeats that was written at a time when his
first true love, Maud Gonne, had married Major John MacBride. This may have
caused Yeats much pain and Yeats may have felt as cursed as Adam felt when God
had punished man from the Garden of Eden. This poem, in fact, symbolizes his pain
and loss of love that he once had and is a recollection of his memories during happier
times with Maud. In the beginning of the poem We sat together at one summer s end

He is definitely using a parallel to describe his poetry and his short time with
Maud. He believes that falling in love with Maud is so similar to the hard work he
puts into the poems he writes. If one were not too look into the poem they would in
fact miss this entirely. Yeats then begins the next part of the poem quite literally. He
recalls a conversation he has with Kathleen, Maud s sister. She is speaking of
beautiful women, and how beauty is not achieved easily. Beauty is not as natural as
many people think.
This beauty blinds a man, just as Yeats was by Maud. Yeats thought Maud was
beautiful and did not see the flaws until now. It is sad, because Yeats now realizes,
there is no fine thing , just as God has cursed men, he has done the same to women.
He is sure that there is neither a perfect romance nor a perfect woman. He states
that it must be labored as the rest of life. Yeats speaks of the traditions that he
followed to court Maud. Men have laid out the laws on how to fall in love, and he
followed these lessons. These traditions now seem frivolous to him, since he doesn
t care anymore. They did not work for him and he lost his love. He is kind of angry
that he was foolish enough to believe they would work. He realizes that love is not
an organized process and it, once again, requires

Community College Education Should Not Be Tuition Free Every year, millions of
students graduate from high school and consider studying in community college. The
main reason for them to choose community colleges over four year universities is the
affordable tuition, or they have undecided majors for their careers. Unfortunately, an
academic article published in 2014 How to Help CollegeStudents Graduate, Kirp
demonstrated, American students are enrolling college in record numbers, but they
are also dropping out in droves (Par1). Kirp also claimed that only one third of
community collegestudents graduate (Par1). In January, 2015, President Obama has
proposed to spend more than $60 billion over the next ten years making community
college tuition free for the purpose of increasing the graduation rates (The Editorial
Board Par2). The proposal seems particularly well suited in supporting college
enrollment; however, from the economic perspective and the cultural perspective,
community college educationshould not be tuition free. First of all, offering free
college education is not feasible or practical. In fact, community colleges have been
serving a wide variety of students in different age ranges. In other words, students
who are teenagers, working adults, or retirees can attend community colleges. There
is no doubt that college enrollment would rapidly improve since students would be
attracted by the free courses, but it still does not seem to increase the

than 150 countries joined the conference. After that, other countries ratified Kyoto
Protocolin succession. Until now, there are about 192 countries have already ratified
the protocol. The United States, however, chose to drop out in 2001 after becoming
one of the participants for four years. (Cable News Network Library, 2017)
Drawbacks of Kyoto Protocol and negative impacts on the economy are two main
reasons why the United States dropped out.
Kyoto Protocol is an agreement that forces all the signatory countries to make great
efforts to relieve global warming. It is widely accepted that greenhouse gases are
able to heat earth since they can prevent heat from escaping from the atmosphere, a
reasonable amount of greenhouse gases is needed to keep the earth warm at a
constant and comfortable level, but the overabundance of those gases can influence
earth adversely and thus increase the temperature beyond desirable level. Kyoto
Protocol is aimed at solving this kind of problem. Therefore, we can say that Kyoto
Protocol is an international treaty among industrialized nations that sets mandatory
limits on greenhouse gas emissions. (Rouse, M., 2013) The countries who ratified the
protocol will be a member of the United Nations Framework
20. Essay About Capoeira
Capoeira is an Afro Brazilian martial art that combines facets of dance,
music and acrobatics and body language. It was developed in Brazil by
African descendants with indigenous influences, probably in the early
sixteenth century. It is known for its rapid and complex movements
using his arms and legs to execute maneuvers great agility in the form
of kicks, feints and tackles, among others. Capoeira fighting style
incorporates as low and swept movements while in sport more
emphasis on acrobatics and ritualized displays of skill becomes. It is
practiced with traditional music of the berimbau.
Since the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, Portugal was carrying
slaves to South America from West Africa. In 1544 the company of... Show more

Another theory suggests that capoeira originated
from a courtship dance in Angola by the young pretenders, or at least
was one of the components that formed it, however, this is one of
many theories. There is controversy about whether the game arrived
with enslaved Africans or whether Africans refined a preexisting
Brazilian game. Regardless, the catalyst for capoeira was the
homogenization of African people under the oppression of slavery.
Capoeira emerged as a form of resistance to oppression, an art
practiced in secret, a transmission of culture and spiritual stimulation.
Many Brazilian scholars maintain that Capoeira was born as a way to
disguise the fact that slaves were training to fight (against its owners),
21. hiding it in the form of a cheerful dance choreography. This explains
why Capoeira currently appears as a mixture of fighting techniques and
fluid dance.
There were groups of slaves who escaped from the settlements and
grouped in different places. These groups were defined by Portugal as
quilombos. The most important in 1580 was Palmares quilombo, and
his ruling was Zumbi dos Palmares, located in the Serra da Barriga,
reaching accommodate 30,000. He is so called by its inhabitants

Asoka the dirty ruthless conqueror or an amazing, enlightened ruler. Asoka was
the ruler of the Mauryan Empire. He has killed many innocent lives, but he also
gave rich gifts to the poor after he sought forgiveness of his wrong doings. There is
one question many people ask and that is, is Asoka a ruthless conqueror or is he an
enlightened ruler? Asoka is an enlightened ruler because he brought welfare of the
world ,he seeked forgiveness, and Asoka agrees with nonviolence. First of all , He
brought welfare of the world. In Document C , Asoka s Awakening it states Asoka
gave rich gifts to the poor. This quote means that Asoka had to be an enlightened
ruler to give RICH gifts to the poor. If he was a ruthless ruler, he probably wouldn t
have given such good gifts to the poor, maybe even no gifts at all . Another

An example of this is shown here on document C it states Asoka goes on a
pilgrimage seeking a guru a teacher. And by the river he met a Buddhist monk and
the monk told him to sit beneath the Bodhi tree where the Buddha had found
enlightenment. This means that Asoka felt remorse for his wrong doing. Asoka
felt bad enough to make him think he needs forgiveness so he sought for someone
to help. If Asoka was a ruthless ruler he probably wouldn t have cared at all.
Another example of Asoka seeking forgiveness is located in document E it states
The beloved of the gods (Asoka) believes that one who does wrong should be
forgiven as far as it is possible to forgive him. This quote means that Asoka believes
this because he was forgiven himself. He thought if he could get a second chance
everyone should. If Asoka was a ruthless ruler Asoka would have never sought
forgiveness, which would lead to him not being forgiven, which would lead to him

23. Why Is Vernacular Architecture
Is Vernacular Architecture obsolete?
Traditional Kampung houses
Vernacular architecture is an architectural style based on local needs, living
environment, availability of building materials and local traditions. This style
remains significant within the 21st century as many of the architectural concepts care
still applicable to modern design techniques. The traditional Kampung houses of the
Southeast Asian region is a primary example of this, developing its own distinctive
approach to accomodate the tropical environment of which aspects regarding thermal
control, construction and community can still be learnt from today.
Kampung villages are found in nations in the humid tropics which are generally
characterised as monsoonal and have an average temperature of 27 degrees(c) year
round. Because of this, architecture within this region has to be strategically designed
to handle such environmental pressures with adequate ventilation, thermal comfort
and climate defence capacities.
Kampung houses are built with many windows and doors and very few interior
walls to let in natural light and allow for maximum air flow through the building to
channel out hot air. The houses sit on raised stilts, this helps capture winds of a
higher velocity and in turn provides cross ventilation which is important to passive
design. It also allows the structures to avoid potential flooding during the wet season
and provides residents an aspect of defence from dangerous wildlife.

24. Integrating Special Education Children
Disadvantages of Integrating Special Education Children in Regular Classrooms Few
topics have as much controversy as inclusion of children with special needs in regular
classrooms. Few professionals question the appropriateness of inclusion of students
with disabilities in regular classes. However, significant debate about which students
should form part of the general education classes and the time they should spend in
those classes persists. This has led to two groups, one for, and the other against
inclusion. There are those who think that all students belong to regular education.
This group claims that all students have a right to attend school with their peers and
this can only occur within a single system where all students form the learning
community. Secondly, the group claims that all students can benefit from education
through supportive learning in inclusive settings. Third, they cite stigma as
unfavorable to the children s welfare. Lastly, they observe that the approaches used in
special classes do not significantly differ from those used in regular classes
(Zwaagstra et al. 13). Conversely, the other group believes that only students who
meet certain standards should be included in regular classes. The group supports
inclusion only under unique conditions. This group observes in regular classrooms
instructors cannot offer some of the services that students with disabilities need.
Additionally, they claim that instructors in regular classrooms may lack the
25. The End Of The Civil War
After the civil war, tension arose between the North and the South. Northerners
made the decision to reconstruct the south. While the south rejected their efforts
and resisted change, the north was angered by their hostile response. The
northerners coming in were called derogatory terms, such as carpetbaggers and
were seen as exploiting the south. Many changes were being made including the
Federal Government protecting each individual citizen s freedom, reinterpreting
the constitution, and a transformation of slave workers into legal citizens. The 13th
amendment being passed in 1864 abolishing slavery was Lincoln s final solution.
Next was a movement of reintegrating the north and the south, while also including
former slaves into the picture and it proved to be a lot for people to accept. Even
though there was revolutionary change happening, things still weren t progressing
in all areas. The black codes that were put in place in 1865 to restrict the freed black
slave s rights were just one of many examples of how racism was not going
anywhere even after the civil war. While the conflict between raceand class existed
very much simultaneously, I believe that in order to fully understand American
history since the civil war it is important to focus on racial tension.
One of the biggest contributing factors of racism was the divide between the north
and the south. This had a lot to do with the unfinished reconstruction that began in
1963. The south opposed any interaction

The Frog Prince vs. The Princess and The Frog Disney s The Princess and The
Frog is based on the original story The Frog Prince written by the Grimm brothers
in 1812. There have been many books and movies inspired by the original The Frog
Prince, each being different in their own way. The name is a common difference
between the original and newer versions of the story, usually modern versions are
named The Princess and The Froglike Disney s adaptation. Even though Disney s
The Princess and The Frog and the original The Frog Prince are the same story,
they have notable differences and very few similarities; the setting, her status, the
story line, and the moral. The Frog Prince begins telling how the princess very
often spent her spare time at a well near her castle where she would play catch with
her golden ball. One day while she was playing catch, she accidentally threw her
golden ball into the well. As she cried about her golden ball a frog offered to help
her as long as she made a promise, but if you would love me, and have me for your
companion and play fellow, and let me sit by you at table, and eat from your plate,
and drink from your cup, and sleep in your little bed if you would promise all this,
then would I dive below the water and fetch you your golden ball again. (Grimm)
Even the princess agreed, she left after the frog retrieved her golden ball for her. The
day after meeting the frog, she sat, eating at her dinner table only to be interrupted by
27. Actions Speak Louder Than Words
Actions speak louder than words. Just one of the many sayings my father always
said. He had a few he liked, but I believe this was his favorite. He is a very proud
man, with great morals. He served in the Vietnam War in the Marine core. He is
the type of man where you never had to guess how he felt, he was more than happy
to let you know. Being the oldest of six, he had the responsibility of caring for his
siblings. He was not able to enjoy the joys of a usual childhood. He had the burden of
helping his struggling parents, hold the family together by working very young, and
acting as another parentto the other kids. There were no summer camps, vacations,
or free time for him. Only changing dipers, cleaning the house, and going to work.
He once told me The only time I felt like a normal kid was at school After he
graduated high school, he joined the Marine s. He felt that he had already been
living a very structured life and believed it would be a smooth transition. He was
right. He was finally able to be the man he wanted to be, not another parent in a full
house. Although there were many guidelines he had to follow in the military, he
enjoyed the fact that he could be himself. He doesn t talk a lot about the war. Only
some stories of partying and having fun. The parts about the war itself he keeps to
himself. I can only imagine some things he s seen, and had to do. He was a gunner
on a helicopter. Sometimes he provided ground troops
28. The Founding Of National Parks
American history had been born of discovery and industrialization, however early
founders believed that certain spaces that garnered appreciation and interest were
deemed worthy of government intervention and policy thus incorporating National
Parks into American society. There were many people of utmost significance that
contributed to the founding of national parks but the person with the most influence
was John Muir. The work and ideas created by Muir and several other founders led to
what we today consider to be the establishment of both recognized and sanctioned
national parks. To completely understand how momentous the movement for the
establishment of the National Parks was, one must recognize who participated in the
achievement of these environments, how these parks are inaugurated, and the
prominence they continue to hold today. Someone who had a major role in
establishing national parks as well as significantly influencing the protection of the
lands and environments was a man by the name of John Muir. Muir was born on
April 21, 1838 in Dunbar Scotland and had several important roles ranging from a
farmer, sheepherder, inventor, but most importantly he was a conservationist. A
conservationist is someone who values and recognizes the importance of protecting
the ecosystem. His father was an extremely zealous minister that would sometimes
abuse John until he memorized numerous amounts of the holy bible. At a young age
both he and his family were uprooted and moved
29. Alan Paton s Cry, The Beloved The Country
History is known to repeat itself, as evidence by the many groups that have suffered
racial and ethnic discrimination. Hitler created prejudice against the Jews during
World War II. Southerners discriminated against the Blacks, leading up to the Civil
War, and during the Apartheid, the Natives were segregated from the Whites. In Alan
Patons Cry, the Beloved the Country, the main character Stephen Kumalo goes
through a journey to restore his tribe. During his journey, he discovers and learns of
the injustices in South Africa. Through the parallels and contradictions of biblical
allusions, Alan Paton is able to explain the impact of racial inequality in South Africa,
but signifies how unconditional love and hope can be used to overcome fear and
bring restoration to both the land and it s inhabitants.
Arthur s allusion represents the overall battle of good versus evil and the fight for
equality. King Arthur and Arthur Jarvis were well liked, and respected by the
people. Paton states the church had been too small for all who wanted to come
(181), and this is the ultimate representation of the respect that Arthur receives.
King Arthur had the Knights of the Round Table where everyone at the table was
seen as the same, while Arthur Jarvis wishes for sameness of both races and his
death is seen as a major tragedy. The reader is able to learn about what many
characters think of him in the aftermath of his death, this is a terrible loss for South

different practices of leadershipwere: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision,
Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. These
principles each have their own challenges and frustrations, and as a leader they have
helped me realize what I can improve on. Modeling the Way was one of my top two

This was a skill that focused on helping your followers know that you are proud of
them and the contributions that they have either done or helped you with. This was
hard for me to remember to do in the moment, but during debriefing on orientation
days it was nice to celebrate our accomplishments or how people worked through
hard situations. These debriefings brought everyone together and created a spirit of
community, which is one way the book focused in encouraging the Heart (Kouzes
Posner, 2014). Another skill that was something a truly focused on during the
summer was Enabling Others to Act. It was based on fostering collaboration and
strengthening others (Kouzes Posner, 2014). I found this was a hard skill for me to
work on because I like to do things my way. I worked through it by truly listening
to others ideas, and the fact that I was a new S.O.C. I wanted to learn as much as I
could from the returning members of my team. My skit group created a strong
bond of trust in each other to get our work done in a timely manner. The last skill
was Challenge the Process and this for me has always been a hard skill to get my
self to do. This has been my main focus this summer, and I continue to work on it to
this day.
Challenge the Process focused on going outside the box of the organization or group

NGS s structure also passes the Parenting Advantage Test (2) in some scenarios. The
senior management does a good job of communicating the firm s strategy on a regular
basis, creates task forces comprising of leaders from all groups and facilitates input
from the entire organization through employee attitude surveys.
Although NGS s unique content and sound leadership have led to its previous
success, new developments in the digital space have surfaced cultural and structural
deficiencies. One of the main weaknesses is a lack of coordination. This weakness is
the Achilles heel of the organization, and proves its detriment when applying the
Market Advantage, Parenting Advantage, People, Difficult Links, and Flexibility
Tests (1, 2, 3, 6 and 9 respectively). Looking at the Market Advantage Test, it appears
that there is sufficient management in place to oversee each of the market segments
that NGS competes in; however, there is poor communication across the groups,
making it difficult to collaborate and maximize the profitability of each. Similarly,
when administering the Parenting Advantage and Difficult Links Tests, it is clear
that Link and Leverage Propositions are not used by NGS. The current organization
fails to coordinate the efforts of each unit, and therefore cannot leverage the strengths
of each, without potentially diminishing the efforts of the others. According to the

W.A. Mozart Don Giovanni
Mozart s Don Giovanni is an operatic masterpiece that is full of classical and
legendary tension that still exists today. The music conveys and describes important
principles of human personality and character (Ford 9). Don Giovanni is one of the
best pieces by Mozart, and it is still a masterpiece in the lyric theater. It was
composed in 1787 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Don Giovanni was produced
during the classical period; intellectually the era is also known as the Age of
enlightenment (Fisher 14). During the period, European thinkers embraced the idea
of social justice and the value of ordinary individuals. They also believed in the

Mozart first appeared in public in 1761 at the university theatre. He was among
dancers in a school drama known as Sigismundus Hungariae Rex (Sadie 22).
Another factor that influenced Mozart s professional life is his travel to Vienna.
During their visits, his father was able to ensure that they performed before the royal
and imperial family at the Viennese court (Sadie 23). He understood that these would
give Mozart the attention he needed to secure his future patronage. Moreover, the
family traveled to Paris and other places which helped in influencing his career
(Sadie 33).
Mozart used the opportunity to present themes in Don Giovanni, in which common
man fought for his rights against the totalitarianism and harassment of his noble
master. Don Giovanni highlights powerful and uncontrollable unreasonable forces
of humanity. Also, it represents a paradoxical world which can be seen as a blessing
or a curse (Fisher 19). The theme is important to the production of Don Giovanni as
it presented the real sociopolitical events that were taking place in Europe. Mozart
was keen to ensure that people understood what was taking place in the society.
In turn, Mozart s Don Giovanni belonged to the classical era. One important aspect of
music style of classical period is that it focused on clarity (Fisher 127). Also,
stylistically the music emphasized on precision as well as rigid structural methods.
During that period individuals had strong

37. The Enzymatic Browning Of Apples
The Enzymatic Browning of Apples
Practical experiment:
The purpose of the experiment is to measure the level of browning, due to the
effects of the enzyme called polyphenol oxidase (phenolase), on apple slices exposed
to different Ph. levels.
When exposed to oxygen the enzyme catalyzes the reaction creating melanins (brown
pigments) on the fruit. Soaking the apple slices in acetic acid, orange juice (ascorbic
acid), tap water and calcium carbonate (alkaline) will affect the rate in which the
apple slices brown. The reduction of the browning is dependent on the Ph. levels of
the soaking solutions, also soaking the apple slice in water will restrict the amount of
oxygen that comes into contact with the apple thus temporarily inhibiting the effects
of the phenolase.
Understanding the Prac:
By peeling or cutting fruit and vegetables the enzymes that are stored within the plant
cells are released. When in the presence of oxygen the enzyme phenolase catalyzes
the biochemical reaction of converting phenolic compounds into melanins. Enzymatic
browning occurs optimally between a PH of 5.0 and 7.0.
Browning can also occur via the bruising or other injury to the plant tissue, exposing
the enzyme to oxygen. Although enzymatic browning is not always a defect, for
instance it is required in the process of making raisins, coffee, prunes and cocoa, it
does however have significant effects on the fruits and vegetables that do not require
browning such as apples. Enzymatic browning not only

40. Analysis Of Revelation By Liz Lochhead
The poem Revelation, by Liz Lochead, is a gripping story about a chance
encounter that leads the reader into a deeper understanding of the poem s
underlying theme. The poem focuses on a girl who is visiting a farm and is given
the opportunity to see a bull that is kept out of sight. Lochhead manages to grasp the
reader s imagination by the use of wordchoice, sentence structure, imagery and
personification. This allows the reader to visualize the recurring theme of sexual
awakening within the poem. Liz Lochhead, creates a deeper understanding of the
poem s theme by her word choice, which helps explain the events leading up to the
young girls encounter with the bull. She uses the word threshold , which describes
the girl standing at the opening of the barn. The word has connotations of a
crossover from innocence to experience. At this point in time the girl is standing at
the edge of purity, about to step over to the other side revealing something
unknown to her. This describes to the reader that she has reached the stage in her
life where she is ready to be exposed to her sexual awakening and the evil that is
prominent in the world. The writer then builds on this motif by the way she
structures the poem in the lead up to the girl meeting the bull. In stanza one she
adds the hot reek of him. Then he was immense . The use of the caesura adds a
dramatic effect to the poem causing the reader to pause, instilling fear. It makes the
reader realise that this isn t just a chance encounter after all, as it has a great impact
on the young girl. From this one encounter the girl remembers the bull s
overwhelming smell body heat. This explains, further, that the girl is no longer at a
stage of innocence. She has been introduced to the fear and dread that surrounds her,
that she was once oblivious too. The use of imagery throughout the poem also helps
the reader gain a further insight to the underlying meaning. She uses imagery
particularly well when the girl has experienced the bull. Lockheed uses the words

41. The Code Of Ethics And Systematic Ethics
Abstract. The article reviewed was The Impact of Ethical Tools on Aggressiveness in
Financial Reporting. The key of the abstract is to demonstrate the differences in
financial reporting between the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
and U.S. Standards (p.477). More in depth the research focuses on the code of ethics
and moral duties of company top management.
Introduction. The authors study the financial scandals and the recent financial crisis
to demonstrate the gap between market processes and accounting standards. The
IFRS and U.S. GAAP differ in contrary nature of accounting standards. GAAP is
considered as rule based standards, while IFRS viewed as a principle based.
Therefore, the professional judgment on financial improprieties is highly important
(p. 479). The main objective of the research is to specify the impact of ethical setting
on judgment and decisions of accountants. The code of ethics and systematic ethics
trainings can diminish the inconsistencies from accounting policies. The study is
important due its analysis of mechanisms and alternatives of decision making, and the
influence of code of ethics on chief officers strategic choices (pp. 484 485). The
authors focuses on the problem: how accounting standards contribute to the
professional judgment, company financial performance, and earning management.
The authors discuss issues that arise because of the unethical financial reporting.

42. How Did The Us Constitution Influence The Bonds Of
Government
Parliament: The national legislature of England is called Parliament. It first started
as the Model Parliament, under the reign of Edward I in 1295. It was comprised of
all the lords, knights, and leading citizens of the towns. They advised King Edward,
and voted on taxes and laws. As time went on, the knights and burgess gained an
official title in parliament, known as Members of the House of Commons, the lower
house members. The Nobles and bishops gained the upper house as their own,
known as the House of Lords. No one elected these members, but they created a new
precedent for representation. Between these two houses, the House of the Lords
started as the more powerful body, until the House of Commons was anointed the
official power to control taxation.
Social Contract: John Locke wrote in his famous treatise that government has a social
contract with their citizens. This social contract is a unwritten commitment between
the government and citizens saying that the government will receive its power from
the peoples commitment to the government. In exchange for giving up individual
choice, they will benefit from their protection and unity together as one. Without the
bonds of government, society would be a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The document, and its addendum, the Bill of Rights, were influenced by the need for
a representative democracy, a federal government that has enough strength to manage
the states, and the enlightenment. Many of the writers of the document felt through
John Locke and other enlightenment thinkers, that the united states needed to list
what rights their citizens were born to have. These include to speak their minds freely
without repercussions from the government, to own firearms privately, and to hold
peaceful assembly in public
43. Plea Bargaining Argumentative Analysis
No one likes to be incarcerated in a six by eight foot room for twenty three hours of
the day. Rather than having the defendant plead guilty, many cases around the U.S.
have plea bargaining as a form of negotiation between the defendant, prosecutor, and
defense counsel on behalf of the interests involved (Schmalleger 2016). It has
quickened the judicial system by having cases no longer lead to trial and helps the
prosecutor and the defendant agree to a guilty plea if the prosecutor is unsure of a
win. Plea bargaining helps the courts run smoothly when they have a large amount of
work. Considering the type of defendant, plea bargaining often times comes with
conditions where the defendant helps investigators or other law enforcement agencies
44. Like The Destitute Galveston Summary
Like the destitute, frail characters of the novel, the landscape of Texas is broken.
Fragmented into spectacular pieces of beauty and despair. Galveston is not your
typical back drop for a crime novel. The rugged Texas territory lapping at the gulf
coast is often thought of as a peaceful spot for vacation. Here, Galveston is the all
seeing eye of the story. It was there before us, nature would be there long after
humans. The hotels and churches were all eroding and crumbling in the Texas clay.
Like so much of the story, the settings must crumble before they can be built back
up. The character s also crumble before we find them back on the beach of
Galveston, scarred, but not completely broken yet. Galveston is an interesting tale
that doesn t... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The author seems to intentionally leave us wondering how hard a life a man could
have lived to lose the people he cared for over his lifetime. He is a man who, like
other men in the story, are constantly aware of women who could be sexually
victimized. Perhaps the author makes the victimization overwrought to dispel the
idea that all women are victims in some way. He may also have been trying to
show that all women have the potential to be victims, especially of their male
counterparts. Roy, and society, seem to be enthralled with the idea of a blameless,
precious woman who is pure or simply put a virgin. In the novel, Roy considers the
fact that all of the weak individuals obsess over satisfaction. Just enough to feel
better for a little while. Roy is viewed at times as weak, but I wonder if the author
intended us to see a little more of his pain and the will to overcome, the weak ones
were more likely the women. In the end, Roy the hit man heart seems to be more
human than one would expect. He may be a little John Wayne in the end the western
killer turned good guy in the end, but the harsh characters seem typical of Pizzolatto,
willing to find their humanity before their
45. Ecological Problems Facing United States Today
There are many ecological problems facing us in the United States today. Among
those issues includes global warming, our dependence on fossil fuel, saving our
endangered wildlife, and ensuring that we have safe and sufficient water. There is
one environmental issue, however, that streams across all these areas, and threatens
the safety of our country, and of many bodies of water all over the world, and that is
the issue of Oil Spills. An oil spillcan be defined as, an unintentional release of crude
oil or refined oil products into the environment. Oil spills are considered to be a
major source of chemical pollution. Most of these spills occur through human
error, however, there are cases where oil seeps through deposits under the ocean
floor. These spills can occur on land, in the ocean, and even when oil is spilled
down storm drains that lead directly into lakes and rivers. Not only do oil spills
threaten to destroy our ecosystem and endanger our wildlife, oil spills can be
harmful to human beings as well. The reason that this is so stems from the fact that
oil itself is considered to be semi volatile. This means that it can evaporate into the
air and create a heavy vapor which lingers and can be breathed in by humans, and
can travel deeply into people s lungs. This can in turn cause many health issues such
as nausea, vomiting, headaches, and even difficulty breathing. Over an even longer
period of time, the chemicals that are found in oil, and that are evaporated into
46. Comparing Cheuse And Separate Way
Both, And of Clay Are We Created by Isabel Allende and Separate ways have
characteristics that make them agree with the essay by Alan Cheuse and the history
of the short story, as well as fall right along with the style of literature during that time
period in the history of their country s literature.
In The Alan Cheuse essay he begins by giving us the origin of the modern day short
story. Although the exact day is not known, we can trace the origins of the modern
day short story to the 19th century. Edgard Allan Poe began by creating fictional
stories that coincided with the growing popularity of entertainment, unlike the
traditional short stories that were folk tales who ended bringing light to a moral
dilemma or history of the world and gods (Cheuse 25). According to Alan Cheuse,

In fact, the language used in literature and the one used to communicate by
everyday citizens were two totally different languages. This time in Japanese history
is the Meiji era. This time is very important because, it signifies the re opening of
Japan to the West. Once open to western literary ideas, techniques, and
industrialization European literature began to spread into Japan. Things like free
verse was brought to poetic repertoire opening the world s literature to new themes
and ideas. Writers during the Meiji are began to try and write pieces of literature that
everyone can understand. Sakutaro Hagiwara is known as the father of modern
Japanese poetry (Hayes). Before becoming a writer, Hagiwara entertained
individuals by juggling or magic, however transitioned into becoming the start of a
revolutionary change in Japanese literature. Futabatei Shimei was said to have
produced the first modern novel, Ukigumo. The way the book was written was a
new style or colloquial style of language. This style of writing was the adopted by
many younger

48. Clinton Zengerle Summary
Jason Zengerle s GQ article Bill Clinton s Big Moment: His Health, His Battle Plan
for Trump, and What He ll Do if Hillary Wins talks about Clinton s health, his role
in campaigning for Hillary, his general life as an ex president, and his role in a
possible Hillary presidency. The first topic that Zengerle talks about in his article
is Bill s role as ex president. As ex president, he writes books and builds museums
to remember his accomplishments. Now, his wife, Hillary is running for
president. Adjusting to being in the background of Hillary s campaign was a huge
challenge for Bill in 2008. One Democratic insider close to the former president
characterized his background role this way: It s hard for him. He s the guy who s
used to batting cleanup, and suddenly someone says, Just go over there and give
me signs, and I ll hit (qtd. In Zengerle). He has adjusted to that role much better in
2016, Zengerle reports. Zengerle shares an experience that Bill had with a student
at Oakland. Her name was Emma. She asked Bill if her and her boyfriend could
recreate the picture behind Rabin and Arafat with Bill. That was a famous shot with
Clinton. He hesitated at first, but that quickly changed. He proffered a memory.
Emma didn t ask for a picture. As ex president, he gave a speech at the democratic

They felt that Burkle might jeopardize Hillary s election if she made it that far,

49. The Grand Canyon By Henry Morris
There is a famous saying that goes something like: if you take God out of the
picture, there will be no answer. However, many people take God or gods out of
the many aspects of their lives. Now, if God is mentioned in a debate or topic, it
creates controversies and is specifically targeted by critics. Topics or questions such
as evolution or the origins of the universe have long been debated, studied, and
researched. Starting in the 19th century, evolution has been a long debated popular
topic among many people. A major 20th Century alternative belief to evolution is
scientific creationism. This became prevalent through the leading institute for
promoting, forming, and researching the doctrine of scientific creationism: the

It is the belief that the world is around ten thousand years old. The idea or belief is
far from the findings of science which calculate the age of the earth to be around
five billion years old. The data considered solid by scientists such as the
astronomical measurements on stars, dating of rocks, and the reconstructions of the
history of life on the planet are based on the calculation that the earth is five billion
years old. Almost all of the things that science has researched and discovered are
based on the calculation that the earth is around five billion years old, but scientific
creationism argues against all of the proof and claims that the earth is young.
The age of the earth, in the eyes of scientific creationism, is calculated first by
creating a genealogical table. Starting with Adam, the man considered to be the first
human, the genealogy should be studied until the birth of Christ. This will give you
the approximate age of the earth. However, there is another controversial topic: the
length of the day. Scientific creationism believes that the length of the day in Genesis
chapter one is a literal 24 hour day, however there are other theories that the day
might be longer and may not even be confined within the human realm.
The belief that the world is roughly ten thousand years old became widespread mostly
because of the scientific creationists convincing people
50. The Value Of Trust In The Movie Finding Forrester
Trust
In the movie Finding Forrester, the amount of trust in someone can be shown upon
how good of a relationship one has with another. Jamal, a highschool student,
secretly has a passion for writing. Forrester is an older man who agrees to mentor
Jamal in writing, along with revise and edit his papers. As Jamal visits Forrester more
often, their relationship grows along with the trust they have in one another. In
Finding Forrester, being in a comfortable setting will allow one s relationship and
trust to develop and grow with one another.
As people s relationships grow, the more trust they will have in one another.
Movielocity (2001) stated Jamal encounters not only his first fan, but a mentor
who will challenge and change him forever, and Forrester has his first reason in
years to emerge from his self imposed solitude (p. 1). Forrester and Jamal have
relied on each other in multiple aspects of life. As their relationship grows, their
trust grows along with it. Jamal pushes Forrester outside of his comfort zone by
bringing him out into public for the first time in 40 years. Forrester allowed him to
bring him to a basketball game for his birthday. This shows how far Forrester and
Jamal s relationship has grown. Forrester has enough trust in Jamal to take him out in
public for his birthday, despite the fact that he has not left his apartment in decades.
The relationship between Forrester and Jamal has develops into a friendship that
ultimately converts to an alternate
