Basic guidance services provide students with information to guide their choices and actions. The objectives are to develop a broad understanding of life's opportunities and problems, create an awareness of the need for accurate occupational, educational, and personal-social information, and to promote attitudes that will help students make productive choices. This includes providing occupational information about job requirements and conditions, educational information about training opportunities, and personal-social information to help students understand themselves and improve relationships.

2.  Information Services – The intentional and
purposive delivery of information to students; the
primary purpose of which is to enable student to
reasonably guide their choices and actions inside
and outside of the school.

3. OBJECTIVES:
 To develop a broad and realistic view of life’s
opportunities and problems at all levels of training.
 To create an awareness of the need and an active
desire for accurate and valid occupational,
educational, and personal-social information.
 To provide wide understanding of the wide scope of
educational, and social activities in terms of broad
categories of relative activities.
 To promote attitudes and habits that will assist in
the making of choices and adjustments productive
of personal satisfaction.
 To provide assistance in narrowing choices
progressively to specific activities which are
appropriate to aptitudes, abilities, and interests and
to proximate to definite decisions.

4.  OCCUPATIONAL INFORMATION –Is the valid and usable
data about positions and occupations
(E.g. conditions for work, duties and requirements for work
applications, rewards offered, advancement pattern.)
 EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION – Refers to the valid and
usable data about all types of present and probable future
educational or training opportunities and requirements.
(E.g. School goals and objectives, school policies, assisting
upcoming k-12 students about the strands.)
 PERSONAL-SOCIAL INFORMATION – This information is
valid and usable data about the opportunities and influences
of the human beings which will help the learner understand
himself better and improve his relation with others.
(E.g. Personality development, leisure time activities)
